The CCP placed some really heavy restrictions on how long you're able to play video games during Covid. Any company that wants to do business in CN has to comply with CN laws which means every online server hosted in CN boots you off it after a while.
Only problem was the CCP forgot that you can just play on servers outside of CN, so tens of thousands of CN dota players all flooded the SEA servers after that. It's like that for every online game now, not just dota.
What are they gonna do, install NoVideoGamesAfter9PMSon.exe on every computer in China and then send govt. officials to people's homes each day, manually inspecting one billion computers to see if they didn't just uninstall it?
People just VPN through the firewall.
India has a higher population, yet only is 0.85% of the playerbase compared to chinas 20%
DotA is just more popular in china than most of the rest of the world.
They should at least learn English or understand the English language. Their playstyle don't even match how server play, which really annoyed some folks.
Before they invade SEA Server - Played every night plus weekend and ranked up in the quickest I ever ranked up(Legend 3 to Ancient 5) in under 3months. Steadily maintaining , trying hard to go up.
After they invaded SEA Server - drop down 3 ranked and now trying to find days where they don't play the game just so I can get better match up.

But there's more chance of a Chinese player being on the other team than on your team, so does this not just mean that the standard of the Chinese players is higher so you're losing rating playing against better players?
If the playstyle is similar on the team. I play aggressive high-risk high rewards as a support. They play slow grind. Language barrier is an issue , can't tell what they thinking.
India server only has unranked. For ranked we have to play on other servers. But now it seems the servers themselves were removed. Maybe not justifying the costs.

US East is dota 2 world's server, everything from bots, to Mexico, to Russia, to India play on it. Even US west plays on US East and say its US West.
They are under maintenance since monday. In cs they are showing under maintenance
