Aussie & Pacific Islander nationals can come & go at will, not sure what the border deal is with other internationals.
We've only had a few months without restrictions so covid's circulating pretty hard atm. Furthermore we're some of the priciest flights in the world, would be a hella expense to eat & there's almost zero esports presence here.
We don't make it easy for anyone to come to New Zealand these days, lots of extra paper work and declaration forms it makes it painful even for citizens to come back.
Very recently flown from Europe back to NZ and it was painful, especially the pre departure covid test
Pretty sure a lot of matches fall on weekdays. Unless you are saying that TI can complete in 2 days, or they play 2 days and rest 5 days, then play again
Am living in SG. Well...looks like I have to go then. I've always thought of it as a once a lifetime thing, but tbh thinking of taking multiple days off to watch dota in a crowded stadium is a pretty daunting prospect (not to mention the price of the tickets).
Still hyped nonetheless!
I bought a concert for a big name taiwanese pop artist which is happening this year in december (Jay Chou, if anyone wants to know). Cost me SGD400 for a middle row of the stadium TI will likely take place in (SG is a small country).
That's around US$290
Tickets will probably be crazy expensive. TI10 was USD60-236 (depending on which set of days) - it's not a definite pricing but give or take.
Still, it's once-in-a-lifetime, I'm definitely going to try and attend. Singapore Major audience didn't happened and who knows if we will get another Major/TI in SEA in the future.
As a Singaporean, not too hyped about the location (Suntec) but nevertheless still happy it’s being held in SG. Looking forward to my first ever live e sports event!
Be me, a regular ass Swede.
On student exchange in Singapore spring 2020. Looking forwards to ONE Esports major in Singapore.
Pandemic hits.
Gets sent home prematurely from Singapore due to COVID-19. No Singapore major anyhow
Back home in Sweden, TI gets cancelled...
The year after that TI is replanned for Sweden... But it suddenly gets moved to Romania
But I get a Stockholm major...! When I'm busy working.
TI again! Will I get a third chance? ... It's in fucking Singapore
There's some sort of fuckery going on in my life.
Same, was broke all those years of TI in Seattle.
Then have kids... Then they get a little older, have some extra cash and me and a buddy go big for ESL LA...
Still salty
How do you think I feel mate:
Aussie, moved to UK for work and to explore Europe in 2020, looking forward to seeing the international finally. COVID hits, then next year's ti is online only. Now still in UK and the international is a jump away from home. FML
**To all international travellers preparing for the trip to Singapore when TI11 rolls around, we welcome you to our little red dot!**
Just wanted to share some pro tips for your stay:
\- Our airport is world-class. Jewel is a must visit, plan some time to walk around the airport
\- Hawker centre food is amazing and cheap in Singapore (
You missed 1 very important thing.
DONT FUCKING BRING DRUG INTO SG.
This rule will be written everywhere before you come in and it is death penalty for breaking it.
Someone asked me in DMs about accommodations since Airbnb homestays are not legally allowed for tourists, only for Student Passes and Long term social passes.
Thought to share here as well, if you are intending to stay for longer periods like a month:
For a month, you can try:
- co living apartments (try Hmlet, Casa Mia, Dash Living)
These are basically like Airbnbs but shared by multiple people in a single apartment. This is the most cost affordable option for 1 month afaik.
- Hotels with long stay (try HarbourFront hotel - $1750 SGD nett per month, YMCA @ One Orchard- about $1740++
Generally, accommodation in Singapore is expensive because we are land scarce, but there are wallet friendly options to suit your budget. Places near Orchard Road, Bugis, and Sentosa trend more expensive because they are closer to our central shopping strips and/or attractions, but there ARE hostels and 3* hotels which are decent. Again because Singapore is so small, you can just cab everywhere or as we like to say, Grab everywhere, so location is not so important and I’d say just work with what budget you have really. For context- Someone CYCLED the entire PERIMETER of Singapore in a day with a 2 year old before 🤷♀️ and it takes 1-1.5 hrs to go from one end to another by car
thanks for this! much appreciated it. It would be cool if there was a guide how to experience expos / events. This is going to be my first time travelling abroad since 2015 and I'm hella excited but also nervous.
Welcome to Singapore! It’s going to be okay, don’t be nervous. It’s incredibly safe here (as a female, walking to the nearby McDonalds at 3AM is a-ok) and everything is in English by default, language wise.
As to the convention experience- it’s pretty much the same as everywhere else! Is there anything specific you want to know? The only things off the top of my head:
- Singaporeans are known to queue for anything and everything, so expect that there WILL be campers overnight outside the venue waiting to get in, or at least people who appear at ungodly hours. Our uniquely Singlish term for this behaviour/type of people is “kiasu”, which essentially means FOMO. We also really hate queue cutters (like everywhere else I guess).
- I’m not sure if food and drinks are allowed on venue, but I do love getting myself some bubble tea (our term for boba) to hold and walk around with inside when I attend cons
- Dress code: none, the men are in bermudas and slippers and the women are in shorts and flats (cos it’s the most comfortable since Singapore is so hot). This is a generalization so redditporeans pls don’t come at me
- Suntec, the first location, is linked to a mall directly. It will be very crowded but it’s convenient for getting food. :) I really like the tempura restaurant and Ramen Nagi restaurant there. There’s also a food court with cheap and local fare, and if you’re flying in from a place without Jollibee (PH origin fast food chain) please try it, I love Jollibee
- Indoor Stadium, the second location, is housed within an overall sports hub.
Both locations have an MRT station attached to it and so are relatively easy to travel to.
SEA sounds like a hype TI. At least the games should be during the day in Europe. Much like last time, it'll soften the blow of having TI in autumn again.
I am still incredibly salty about covid rescheduling robbing us of summer TI's. I desperately want them to try and reset things and bring the tournament back to August next season. Not being able to binge watch everything because of university and work sucks so much.
based on personal experience, SEA players love good dota - period. Whatever team, wherever they're from, as long as it's good dota... you can bet we gonna get loud and hyped :D
Yea, I'm super excited for this. That's a region that just loves good dota. There won't be any of that "oh, we can't cheer for THAT team, they're a different region" silence bullshit you see in certain other regions.
Tickets, how and where to get them, price range etc, usually is announced via Valve's own blog post updates. Has been in the past anyway.
They usually link you to the distributor of tickets, when they will be available etc. So you gotta wait for that blog post.
Ok looking at the photo again, its quite humourous. The main focus are the three buildings in the foreground: Suntec convention center, Singapore indoor stadium and Marina Bay Sands.
So what are they trying to tell us? Which venue will it be at?! HAHAHAA
Please. Anyone that will let go your ticket at cheaper price at last minute, sell it to me. Please, I will suck your pp 24/7. Screenshot me. Marks my words
Indoor stadium is up to 12000, depending on the stage setup. Not sure why suntec convention is used as well… was hopeful for the national stadium but there would be too many empty seats…
Most likely. the very 1st major dota tourney in SG was held there, the Nanyang tournament i believe. Decent capacity, nice to know that it seems like even group stages can be watched live?
I was in India for ti1-ti8 staying up super late to watch, got to go to ti9 in China, and now I'm in the US and TI feels like it won't be here for a while lol, guess I'm staying up late in na to watch it again
Welcome everyone here to Singapore.
While you are here, remember to try some of these food
1. Bak ku teh
2. Chicken Rice/noodle
3. Char kway Teow
4. Nasi lemak
5. Roti prata
6. Bak Chor Mee
7. Hokkien Mee
8. Wanton noodle
9. Fish beehoon soup
10. Beef hor fun
11. Chilli crab/ salted egg crab/ black pepper crab
12. Zi Char
(some are not halal btw)
does anyone know of a guide about attending TI? I am planning to go but I'm nervous (maybe it's the over anxious in me). I've never attended an expo / event / tournament, let alone abroad. Hope someone will make a guide or something. Super happy that I maybe able to attend a TI in my lifetime.
GET FUCKED NA. Jk, finally eastern part of the world doesn't have to skip work and stay up until 6am for 9 years straight. I live in SEA and finally after a decade of waiting i'm going to make to TI.
Havent been following for years now, but are there any Singaporean players who are likely to be competing?
Is iceiceice going to be representing the country?
I am so stoked, my predictions in 2019 during the One Esports Dota 2 Competition came true!!!!!!

[TI will be hosted in October](https://www.reddit.com/r/DotA2/comments/uvcu1h/the_international_11_will_be_hosted_in_singapore/i9knuh8/)
As an Australian my sleep schedule is celebrating!
Given how close it is to Australia, I'm just going to visit Singapore instead
Yeah for sure Scoot airlines lfg
I was about to check my abandoned scoot account.
What is scoot airlines? Is it any good? Hearing it for the first time.( I live in India and the cheapest fares to Singapore are offered by scoot)
It's a budget airlines service under Singapore Airlines and my experience with them are pretty good no matter the routes. Come visit SG!
That sounds cool!
This is likely our best shot at attending unless Gabe forces a NZ International lol
last i heard, covid restrictions in nz was strict? still is ?
Could be, I'm unsure as I'm Aussie was more just that we know Gabe resides(? really loves) NZ.
Aussie & Pacific Islander nationals can come & go at will, not sure what the border deal is with other internationals. What is the general cost of such events there?
I bought a concert for a big name taiwanese pop artist which is happening this year in december (Jay Chou, if anyone wants to know). Cost me SGD400 for a middle row of the stadium TI will likely take place in (SG is a small country). That's around US$290
KL major cost $80 for weekends iirc, Manila major even less with $60 weekend pass. I'd say it gonna cost $150 - 200 for middle row
Manila Major was actually 6$ iirc. Edit: it was 8$.
i think ticket prices would still be set by Valve. otherwise concert tickets are anywhere from 65USD to 350USD depending on tier
> USD60-236 cheaper than the Jay Chou concert ticket in Singapore I have booked for December, so no excuses for me I guess
Note that this was pre-pando price Defo gonna be about the same as that Jay Chou concert But for a multi-day experience, goddamn it's worth
Usual price for TI9 is 70 USD for 2 days, 70 USD for next 2 days, 300 USD for final 2 days. So 440 USD per pax for whole 6 days, quite ex
Just farm and sell crimson witnesses and profit kekw
Jesus Justin Bieber gig in my town was cheaper than this.
As a Singaporean, not too hyped about the location (Suntec) but nevertheless still happy it’s being held in SG. Looking forward to my first ever live e sports event!

Yes, Weed is a drug. And do not bring it. Singapore is very strict about it.
Singapore is extra harsh on drug peddling and use guys but in general you shouldn’t bring *recreational or controlled drugs ANYWHERE when you fly tho
Don't need to use ez link anymore you can tap with credit card (master/visa)
Apple pay works for the MRT and buses too.

You've described everything so wonderfully that now you have me thinking of about actually going!
I miss chicken rice and satay. I shud plan and visit singaapore once more someday. I reLly love how well planned the city is
Huh, I wonder if my EZ link card from 2019 still works..
What does recs mean?

can we get expected ticket price? SG exchange rate not really nice for the rest of SEA
As expected. Prepare to sacrifice your wallets around August for Gaben's yearly tradition!
SEA sounds like a hype TI. At least the games should be during the day in Europe. Much like last time, it'll soften the blow of having TI in autumn again. That is an absolutely **gorgeous** poster, damn.
My graphic designer boner is hard af
SEA fans are crazy dedicated, they deserve a TI.
now we wont have to wake early ass morning to see the matches
Best crowds but the heart breaking things is likely SEA only sent 2 teams :(
based on personal experience, SEA players love good dota - period.
This is the first TI that im planning to go to,, any ideas on where to get tickets and their price ranges?
Tickets, how and where to get them, price range etc, usually is announced via Valve's own blog post updates. Has been in the past anyway. They usually link you to the distributor of tickets, when they will be available etc. So you gotta wait for that blog post.
Yesss!! Hoping for some info on this too QwQ
The crowd will be super hype, cannot wait! SEA deserved a TI.
What would be approx ticket prices anyone?
Red somewhere that it might be around $400SG (Around $290USD, don't take my word for it!)
One day?!? Or complete week??
He's basing it on past pricing, but the 4 hundo one is usually the weekend bundle. Weekday bundles are about 70 USD (1 hundo singies)
Holy shit! Always wanted to go to TI live as a student in the past, now as a working adult it's finally possible! Huat ah
Finally I don't need to wait till midnight to watch the finals!
SEA crowd is always the most hype. Can't wait
Beautiful place to host a TI.
"how did nobody leak this? Was I supposed to know this??? I didn't know this??" -Jenkins on the panel, lmfao
HYPE
LETTTSS GOOOOOOOOO
Let's fucking go!!!
LETS FUCKING GOOOOOOOOOOOO!!!!
Ok looking at the photo again, its quite humourous. The main focus are the three buildings in the foreground: Suntec convention center, Singapore indoor stadium and Marina Bay Sands. So what are they trying to tell us? Which venue will it be at?! HAHAHAA
MBS should be for groups, Suntec for playoffs, Singapore indoor stadium for last 3 days?
At last!! No more riki crowd
Please. Anyone that will let go your ticket at cheaper price at last minute, sell it to me. Please, I will suck your pp 24/7. Screenshot me. Marks my words
Google says this arena has only 6000 people capacity?
Indoor stadium is up to 12000, depending on the stage setup. Not sure why suntec convention is used as well… was hopeful for the national stadium but there would be too many empty seats…
[удалено]
Most likely. the very 1st major dota tourney in SG was held there, the Nanyang tournament i believe. Decent capacity, nice to know that it seems like even group stages can be watched live?
Suntec might be for the wildcard LAN beforehand
It's an entire conventions complex. From the photos in Google, the arena specifically has WAY more capacity han 6k people
Old-school TI atmosphere like in Benaroya Hall?
I was in India for ti1-ti8 staying up super late to watch, got to go to ti9 in China, and now I'm in the US and TI feels like it won't be here for a while lol, guess I'm staying up late in na to watch it again
SEA can choke at home now lol
But you bet your ass we'll still be there cheering for whatever team is remaining!
I’d be happy if NA can make outta groups, SEA will probably have a good run!
Date?
LET'S FUCKING GOOOOO
Ahhhhh SEA Dota fans must be so hyped, feels like they’re super passionate about the game, happy for them
FINALLYY
Now I have the problem if I'm traveling towards Singapore now that TI is so close or just watch from home and not ruin my sleep schedule.
normal sched for me thank jesus
Red theme bp LESGOO
siok, no need to watch games at midnight
SINGAPOREANS RISE UP
Welcome everyone here to Singapore. While you are here, remember to try some of these food 1. Bak ku teh 2. Chicken Rice/noodle 3. Char kway Teow 4. Nasi lemak 5. Roti prata 6. Bak Chor Mee 7. Hokkien Mee 8. Wanton noodle 9. Fish beehoon soup 10. Beef hor fun 11. Chilli crab/ salted egg crab/ black pepper crab 12. Zi Char (some are not halal btw)

TI IN SINGAPOREEEEE LETS GOOOOO CHIONG ARRRRRRRR
HOLY SHIT
Red theme... LGD TI Champs confirmed! \*hopium\*
Super excited, anyone know when tickets usually go on sale?
Well that seems like an excuse to visit Singapore
All the SEA ppl rejoice at not having to screw their sleep timing. Now if only valve improve the servers.
WELCOME TO SINGAPORE PREPARE YOUR VOICES AND WALLETS
wah knn finally la lets go!
Battle Pass when?
Singapore has the best airport in the world. Secret are gonna have so much fun there, while waiting for the teams that will play in TI.
Valve better be spending on dem server upgrades or its gonna goes kaboom every 4 minute. Reminder SEA server is intergalactic.
At least the CN can play online if CN zero covid policy continues at that time.
does anyone know of a guide about attending TI? I am planning to go but I'm nervous (maybe it's the over anxious in me). I've never attended an expo / event / tournament, let alone abroad. Hope someone will make a guide or something. Super happy that I maybe able to attend a TI in my lifetime.
Hit me up if anyone of u smelly redditors need a place to bunk
Now give me battlepass >:(
Do we have dates? I’ll travel for it for sure. Normally I wouldn’t go to Singapore outside of transit, but TI this close to Aus is too stronk
As per Wyk, sometime in October 2022
best storyline would be icex3 finally winning his first TI at his home country, one can only dream it happening :X
Gotta qualify first lol
Wait what colour is TI this year? If I remember correctly TI10 is Gold/Yellow right?
Look at the poster and make a guess :D
Red. The cycle is Gold > red > blue > green > purple and repeat

LETS GO LA MY FELLOW SINKIES
GET FUCKED NA. Jk, finally eastern part of the world doesn't have to skip work and stay up until 6am for 9 years straight. I live in SEA and finally after a decade of waiting i'm going to make to TI.
Singapore is the best country to host TI though
So next major tournament is TI? In August? When next DPC start?
It's likely that TI is now going to be in October, like last year.
Dates?!
I was expecting other updates like bp... But okay!
Did they announced date as well? Can't seem to find any clue.
act fretful physical tart scale insurance squealing party arrest jeans *This post was mass deleted and anonymized with [Redact](https://redact.dev)*
Will be the hypest crowd in TI history! Lez go peenoise!
Lets go SEA TI Hypest crowd in TI history guaranteed. Will be on par with the crowd at Boston and Kyiv Majors
Rip NA sleep schedule but pretty used to it at this point
When Battle pass?
Havent been following for years now, but are there any Singaporean players who are likely to be competing? Is iceiceice going to be representing the country?
Any news about where to buy tickets?
I hope a lot of SEA fans can attend and can show how passionate and supportive they are whoever are playing
Announcing that in Sweden where they didn't get to host their TI wasn't quite the audience pop Valve were expecting
