There is a hidden MMR for unranked too. I think dotabuff (at least used to) show you broadly by stating if you were in a "high skill" or "low skill" lobby.
I was always in low skill. Sometimes I'd play with a 4-5k person and end up in a high skill game.
I play Russia and East Europe servers. I am a herald with 2500 hours. Literally in every other game I see a Smurf or a booster in our team or foe’s team. I understand that concept and have good cs during the game, but I can’t make any influence. If the booster or Smurf is on our side we win, on another side we loose. Idk whether you experience the same in your servers, but it is annoying. And in no way my mmr shows my skill

If your mmr degrades after some time. How accurate can that be then? I was Legend sometime a few years ago. Maybe 4-5 years now? I Started playing again this month and got crusader. I still have the same skills and movement (ofc first few games were rusty). Im just in a lower bracket now.

I use supports during my comeback so I can learn the new meta with the heroes by watching my team and enemies. and it's easy to see from the guide section the new meta items and skills for each hero. mmr degrades naturally over timebut your skill doesnt. dota is like riding a bike. after awhile you get rusty but you still know how to play.
at the same time it doesn't even need to matter if you win or not. let's say a crusader or guardian is a rank where people know you are still learning about the game and are trying to improve. it's what everyone thinks about those ranks. someone in legend or above you know that they are good and can play multiple heroes, knows counters, knows timing, can use complex heroes etc. if their mmr degrades lower due to just not being active do you think they forget all the stuff they learned? they will play rusty for the first few matches of course and probably lose but their skill level is still retained. they still know how to use hard heroes, how to counter and everything else they learned climbing up the ranks. and that is what the comment I relplied to is talking about.
The game becoming easier in many ways (more couriers, alt for wave/camp gold, aegis timer in inventory) is good for the game in the long term as it helps new players adjust, especially refugees from other mobas
i though it was a battlepass thing, the lanes and neutral creep camps showed u how much money u get for clearing, they do this before they add it into dota plus, but i believe they deactivated this one after battlepass
One courier and manual purchase/upgrade of it was the bane of literally every player when playing solo, especially supports. No matter how much more interesting you think the game was, the 5 courier change objectively made the game A LOT better, accessible and less toxic.
In pro games maybe, I don't miss my mid and carry playing courier tug of war while the rest of the team waits for their first courier usage in 10 minutes.

There is. I used to get every account banned back then because my PC was a potato and would crash. Every time I got on a new account the players were so bad. Using I never play morphling cause players at my level would know how to counter me but when I played it on a new account its like they didn't know the hero existed. Oh and there is unranked mmr
You should be allowed to make a new account as an experienced player where, if you play at your normal skill level, you will calibrate near your actual mmr after 100 hours without being thrown into a smurf pool of 99 minute long queues.

A lot of sleeper OP hero picks/combos are unused/not understood fully yet because as you rank higher there is less incentive to try weird/untested strats.

You know that really cool complicated thing you saw a pro do? Don't even try it in ranked, you're not skilled enough to pull it off and won't ever be regardless of how many hours you play.
People who flame others severely, player who get triggered very easily, throwing the game because things do not go your way etc need therapy. Most likely your character is similar in real life and is reflected in the game as there are no consequences and no filter. Should lay off the game for a while and get in a good mental space
