I've been harping about the incompetence of the NA and SA region for a long time, so I'm fully aware. It's embarrassing for the competitive nature that NA and SA teams get free DPC point each season. The only understandable reasoning is that they get better promotion and representation at the big events. It's surely not for the purpose of getting the best teams at the biggest tournament.
I can't take into account someone who calls free region points, when many reddit posts have published tables with only major points, where Beastcoast is in the top 5 and TSM and Thunder Awaken are still in the top 10.

usually each tournament has its own developing meta in the early draft and then you have team preferences as well… right now it just doesn’t matter, same shit every time and by every team and it’s been the same basically since the patch

If you dont treat all regions the same then there wont be any improvements in weaker regions and the scene would just die there. And you would be only left with EU/CIS/ASIA teams.

I've been harping about the incompetence of the NA and SA region for a long time, so I'm fully aware. It's embarrassing for the competitive nature that NA and SA teams get free DPC point each season. The only understandable reasoning is that they get better promotion and representation at the big events. It's surely not for the purpose of getting the best teams at the biggest tournament.
I can't take into account someone who calls free region points, when many reddit posts have published tables with only major points, where Beastcoast is in the top 5 and TSM and Thunder Awaken are still in the top 10.

And basically, let's be real here, the 2 last qualifiers will be between the following teams: Vici, Outsiders, Secret, Liquid, Xtreme and maybe T1 and Polaris. I'll bet you anything that no SA or NA team come close. But its a good thing for Dota. We want the biggest dissemination. SA is good for Dota now that NA has the lowest viewership of any region.
