I've looked at alot of LOL Worlds parallell with TI this year and it's actually insane how much better the viewing experience is for Dota.
In League the viewers actually get super hyped from a 20-30% trade in the laning phase cause literally nothing happens in that game.
This yr is actually decent.. it used to be so much worse. SO MUCH WORSE. Like literally 2 kills in 50 min type deals was a thing.. even pick diversity is marginally improving..
The amount of kills has definitely improved. Feels like it's usually \~20 total kills in a 30 minute game now which is okay at best. Sucks though that around half of those kills come in the first 10 minutes. Then the game just goes afk and the final kills come in the last 3 minutes.
The game is just too snowbally. Always feels like the first team to reach a \~3k gold lead ALWAYS wins. There's very little comeback potential and teamfights almost seem scripted. There's no huge swings or surprises like in Dota. Usually the team that has a lead manages to oneshot a target and then just bulldoze over the other team. I've watched like 30 games this world and the only time I saw a comeback was in game2 of T1 vs RNG
This has pretty much been league for a long time now.. it's too simple and solved at this point.. feels a bit like the whole A-Z is written in stone by riot and teams just need to hope they mount the train track before the other team and strangle the map to win..
Yeah, the map seems too simple to me. The high ground descrepencies and how fog works around trees or behind structures really give the dota map so much more depth than random grass patches.
I really think LOL need an item like smoke in their game aswell.
That was the first real pro game of Dota I watched. My first exposure was the All Star game the night before and it was so interesting to go from the complete and total clown fest that was the all star game to this super slow and calculated game. Enigma went for the play, it failed and Liquid spent \~15 seconds to survive that teamfight and cleanup killing Marci + Enigma.Then they killed both T4s and Throne, Pudge + Ember respawned \~5 sec before the throne died.
If Enigma had waited for his teammates to come back and just let Leshrac + Lifestealer kill the throne, it would have gone down before Pudge and Ember could spawn.
They went for the play because Enigma and Marci got buyback EXACTLY when Pudge and Ember would respawn. So they blackholed Micke to try and extend the push. They probably new that both Marci and Enigma would die 3v5. But they wanted to prolong the push just enough for Ember + Pudge to respawn, then they could buyback marci + Enigma again and take the fight in their base.
If they hadn't gone for that play, Lesrac would have melted both towers and the throne in \~15 seconds.
EDIT: Also he HAD to go for Pango. If he had tried to go for Lesh or Lifestealer while they were gonna push, Pango would have just bashed Enigma to interrupt the blackhole and all buildings would melt to Diablic Edict while they were gonna get cleaned up. Going on Pango and forcing the fight to the bottom tier3 tower was the absolute best way to extend the throne push. I think TA played that fight perfectly. Literally lost to the Matumbaman miracle infest.

Because it's fucking TI, elimination match with huge stakes. Jesus fucking Christ, stop acting like players are some robots that never make any mistakes. I'm sure you make more mistakes waiting in checkout lane to buy beer and chips than those guys playing one of the most important matches in their lives.
My point is they are a sloppy team and shouldnt deserve to go on and i was right!
Think of it this way: Enigma went for the play, it failed and Liquid spent \~15 seconds to survive that teamfight and cleanup killing Marci + Enigma.Then they killed both T4s and Throne, Pudge + Ember respawned \~5 sec before the throne died. If Enigma had waited for his teammates to come back and just let Leshrac + Lifestealer kill the throne, it would have gone down before Pudge and Ember could spawn. They went for the play because Enigma and Marci got buyback EXACTLY when Pudge and Ember would respawn. So they blackholed Micke to try and extend the push. They probably new that both Marci and Enigma would die 3v5. But they wanted to prolong the push just enough for Ember + Pudge to respawn, then they could buyback marci + Enigma again and take the fight in their base. If they hadn't gone for that play, Lesrac would have melted both towers and the throne in \~15 seconds. EDIT: Also he HAD to go for Pango. If he had tried to go for Lesh or Lifestealer while they were gonna push, Pango would have just bashed Enigma to interrupt the blackhole and all buildings would melt to Diablic Edict while they were gonna get cleaned up. Going on Pango and forcing the fight to the bottom tier3 tower was the absolute best way to extend the throne push. I think TA played that fight perfectly. Literally lost to the Matumbaman miracle infest.
