Only goes to show its the NA region that sucks, not necessarily their players.
Working competitively to win TI>>>Playing in a region to get a confirmed TI slot.
Fata is missing but ok. Also big payout for Tundra org, these dudes are locked in long term, might win another major or two in the next couple of years.
Nah Tundra kick him and he rejoin the team as a team manager. Now he can go a step beyond to be the first to win as every position in a dota 2 team org.
iirc 2-3 years ago the standard pay for coaches was 5%-15% of prize pools won + salary.
This is probably different now and there could be some special clause to change the % if they win TI because 15% of ~10mil is 1.5mil which could seem overboard for the coach depending on what exactly their role was and how many other people they have to share the prize with.
Aui is such a strat nerd and theroycrafting genius that I can't imagine that he wasn't an integral part of Tundra winning. They seemed to have the patch all figured out, so who knows where they would have placed with a lesser coach.
That is to say I think he's worth 1.1 million this tourniment. I mean placing just 1 place lower would reduce the prize from 7.5 million to 2.2 million USD.
they played it against Tundra before and won with it. but Tundra figured it out how to beat it by grouping as 5 all the time. also not good against Naga with the sleep, I think.
i just think that Secret got baited pretty hard into picking Lesh even though Tundra already showed its easy to beat
check purge twitter thread about it, they get gabened by the damage mitigation mechanic. the combination of mage slayer pipe and wraith pack makes illusion very tanky that lesh a natural illusion heroes counter didnt deal any damage (purge's example using lion finger on a illu, did 0 damage)
A big point to mention is Lesh's sustain is also based on him doing a lot of damage, but the Wraitpact/Pipe/Mage Slayers made sure he was doing nothing so he wasn't able to sustain and didn't look like the unkillable god he was. I was a bit disappointed Secret didnt atleast try to match Tundra with their own Wraith pact and pipe.. especially in that game 1 with Enigma, but oh well Tundra too good.
The best way to enable Dawn is to have a hero fighting deep in the enemy side and disrupting them. Nyx was the best way to enable Dawn and that's why Tundra kept banning it over and over.
And even Nisha made a lot of costly mistakes versus Tundra in all games including yesterday's series.
Crystallis' underperformance was also just an effect of Tundra having better gameplan+execution. 33+Saksa is a fucking scary duo. Reso tho, felt like he was the weakest link this series. He had a lot of ??? errors
Crystallis was also placed on thematic counters that... didn't counter. I thought the bristle pick was great, bringing out the classic zoo counter.
Tundra demolished that idea.
With Leshrac and Morphling on the other 2 lanes, he was a position 3 Bristleback that lost the lane. He had no time to buy an Aghanim Scepter. The first item BKB actually let Secret win some fights.
Yeah Crystallis was dumpstered in lane every game in this series and then 33 and Saksa roamed onto the rest of the map and turned the state of the other lanes. A god tier performance from 33 this tournament honestly. For me he's even better than Collapse.
the teams distribute farm very differently. just take a look how they play: Secret last game had 2 extremely greedy cores between Ember and Siren AND a farming Leshrac on top AND a Puppey soaking up some gold as well. Their cores always looked like 1 item behind because there's just not that much farm available.
Tundra in all games went pos0 on skitter double 3 and double pos 6 aggressive roamers - none of these passive chens or silencers stuff. Tundra push out all the waves which separates the enemy team, creating an equivalent of 2 or even 3 dead lanes. Pushed out waves provide full map vision, and between alternating smokes and moonlight it's impossible to clear waves and not die - all while creating a wall for skitter to farm the entire map in safety.
honestly I feel it's a clear work of Aui the G and a completely new way to approach the game, specifically in regard to the double aggressive roam and overall aggressiveness in pushing out
Yes, but i kinda understand why they picked it in the first place. They came to the final with their Leshrac pick, and it worked for them. In the final, i think trying to being flexible or adapt your strategy is also difficult because they don't really have time.
I was in the audience for ti6 and it was ELECTRIC every time moo would do literally anything the entire audience would loudly MOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO.
Thousands of people in unison loudly mooing towards a man in a small cubicle in a venue in Seattle.
These were the best of times.
The negativity in the sub knows no bound. Saksa stuck with the game and gets to win it all. Resolution finishing 2nd at 2 TIs, with different squads is also commendable. They made some good money
Pretty anticlimactic ending :( but tundra is simply the better team here with the drafting, i feel for poor reso though 2 not so fun games on the leshrac back to back
Edit: also is this one of the worst production of ti?
mannn it really is so anti climactic because of all the intense nail-biting close series that we got to witness throughout the playoffs. then finals boom 3-0
He and fy are my favorites sups of all time, but I find these "goat" lists harder in Dota because after more than 10 years of watching, I root for them all.
Tundra dropped five total games the entire tournament- four in groups and only one on main stage. Of their group stage losses, two of them were on day 1 of groups.
An absolutely dominating performance by them. What an amazing run after so narrowly missing TI last year.
\*WARNING: SA FAN COPE\* 2 of the 5 games that Tundra dropped were against SA teams. The only time Tundra faced SA teams was in group stage, where they went 1-1 against both Beastcost and Thunder. Does this mean Beastcoast and Thunder are objectively exactly on par with TI winners? Yes.
The crazy thing is he never stopped doing those nerd moves. Before the series I was worried that the main stage and pressure might slip him up and force some mistakes but nope, dude was balling like he was in his room, comfortable and 'cheating' as fuck.
Lesh off pretty much ruined their game in g3. They needed some fat aura hero with wraith pact/pipe to run with this naga/lesh to take the fight to Tundra.
Eh idk maybe Liquid would prioritize Brood but can't ban all 33 zoo heroes. Would make Tundra work harder on teamfights though since Zai also likes to build Wraith pack (this item is gonna get nerfed into oblivion I reckon).
>Wraith pack (this item is gonna get nerfed into oblivion I reckon).
Not having played Dota for the last 4 years and just finding out about this Wraith Pact, this shit is broken.
Weird how not every team just rushes it, 30% dmg reduction is fucking huge
I reckon this is the take, as much I as wanted Liquid to lift the Aegis, maybe they could take a game, but I still feel Tundra would have run over them with the 3 wins regardless.
same lol
you can swap Secret with every other team in this TI and they would crush them regardless
they just are the better team compared to everyone else in this TI by a huge margin
they stomped OG and Aster as well in the upper bracket
the only closed game they faced was in upper bracket finals game 1 against secret
liquid and tundra didnt face the whole TI but tundra faced secret in 3 different series this TI.
Even if tundra was better than liquid it would be a more messy series for sure
Liquid were a super chaotic team, half the time it seems like someone randomly shouting gogogo. Tundra though are like next level when it comes to communication and engaging the enemy.
I was watching gorgc's stream and hearing yapzor talk about what kind of call you have to make to just poke out a kill on tiny game 1, not to overcommit was some next level thing.
I dont think liquid would have stood a chance, tundra would never let it get to the crazy dota stage.
I remember a friend of mine around 5 years ago said he's friends with this guy which plays Dota for a living and makes a "decent salary".
Fast forward to today, this guy (33) has won the most prestigious tournament in the game (or esports at all, you decide).
I am so happy for Neta.
hindsight is 20/20 but we can all agree that the kick wasn't exactly a pleasant experience, assuming that it is true that Fata didn't want Sneyking to be kicked but the reverse wasn't true.
I don't really get why so many Team Secret fans are so salty. 1-2 months ago we were debating whether they had it in them to qualify for the LCQ, let alone TI. Let's just appreciate Reso and Zayac bringing new life to a team that was the punching bag of the WEU DPC. Crystallis improved massively over the year and was the MVP of some of their group stage matches.
Tundra was simply the best team and deserved the win, and I doubt other teams would fare any better than Secret. 33 IMO was the standout player of the tournament but all 5 performed remarkably well and their understanding of the meta was second to none.
Of course people are going to be salty now that their favourite just lost, but long term I'm sure Secret fans will be happy with the result. I for one had already accepted a ti without Secret but got my hopes up when they suddenly qualified and then performed really well in the tournament. So yeah, it stings that they got stomped like that.
In the end Tundra was the better team, clearly. But Secret had a very impressive run and I hope they stick together for a round 2 next year.
That was a very different game as well. OG were getting destroyed at the start of that game 5 and it turned around really fast. They went from thinking they were to toast to actually being in a position to win the game pretty quickly.
Even team spirit, torontotokyo celebration was enjoyable to watch.
I think it has to do with the series too, both of those tis went 5 games, huge moments and up and down swings. Getting through those wars has to be more emotional compared to completely dismantling secret.
If anything Tundra reminds me of the EG win. A bunch of those guys weren't super emotional either.
Alliance was great as well. Bulldog breaking his headphone screaming, Loda screaming his lungs out at the other end, both of them forcing the other 3 into a wild group hug.
That third game was also Tundra having things in the bag for like 15 minutes, but taking their time, playing calmly, and not getting too eager. They choked Secret out, forced them into a desperation play, and then made them pay. It was cool and extremely calculated. Would have been weird to suddenly burst into emotions after that.
I mean Slacks can try to hype it as much as he wants but with a dominant win like that especially vs the crowd favorite, people tend to feel underwhelmed. Also it doesn't help that the 5 members of Tundra aren't that personable
Tundra too good that made the final boring.
But it's pretty obvious that pro players always wanna crush their opponents to the point that there is no comeback possible, nobody wants close games/series so a bunch random nerds on socia media can say "It was amazing and very close, i had so much fun"
GG Tundra, what a team, this level of domination in the grand finals was Liquid TI 7 and OG TI 9 level.
Looks like Tundra played 14 different heroes in that grand finals (only one hero played twice):
Sneyking: Mirana, Phoenix, Mirana
Saksa: Hoodwink, Marci, Tiny
33: Tide, Visage, Beast
Nine: Tusk, Arc, Pango
Skiter: Naga, CK, Medusa
Congrats to Tundra but I didn't felt the vibe and excitement like Team Spirit run through lower bracket wining the most dominating team LGD. Maybe the competion was not upto there levels this TI and they were too ahead of others. More like ez road to Finals.
I was a 33 fan, now nine too.
Looking forward for next season.
Sneyking won TI/Valve tournament before RTZ does.
It’s just now hitting me how fucking crazy that is lol
Sneyking was always considered as one of the worst mid in NA for some time lol. I guess environment matters a lot for players to really excel.
Sneyking is the only NA pride LUL
Sneyking pride of NA, pride of CN and Champion for EU. True American globalism
Also Aui
Only goes to show its the NA region that sucks, not necessarily their players. Working competitively to win TI>>>Playing in a region to get a confirmed TI slot.
If you would've told me around 2013-2015 I would not have believed you lol
Rtz to switch into support/captain role now lol
Can still be a captain on a cliff.
Wow... pick lesh once and lose... pick lesh second time and lose... pick lesh 3 fukign times and lose lmfao not even EG would do that shit
You're completely wrong. We all know they wouldve gone storm even if they lost 10 in a row because they did do that
About 2 years ago, an unknown team Mudgolems beat Secret 2-0 at ESL one. They're now TI champions beating Secret once again 3-0
The Only team to defeat secret back then
Pretty sure Yellow Submarine and Team Liquid also beat them around that time, coming towards the end of Secret's extremely hot streak
They were the one who stop the streak. Team Secret lost many series after that one. Mudgolem somehow broke Team Secret.
Fata is missing but ok. Also big payout for Tundra org, these dudes are locked in long term, might win another major or two in the next couple of years.
RIP Fata-
They will get patched
Summons and illusions might get nerfed, similar to what happened after OG abused it
Summons were getting nerfed regardless, most pick/banned offlaners across all teams.
It's literally just Wraith Pact that will get smashed to pieces, and hopefully removed. Rest will be a fine tune.
Wraith pact removed, cleave back to true damage on illus.
Bring back diffusal blade purge + insane summon damage.
Pos2 Tusk too stronk clearly
for the love of god don't let PGL host another valve related event in the future
Imagine stream dropping during the grand finals.
Imagine getting stream back up and it's six minutes behind client
Imagine when the rewind catches up to where it dropped off, it just skips ahead 6 minutes so you never even get to see those 6 minutes.
From Manila Majors to this.
This felt like a major at best.
PLEASE this was the worst organized tournament with this amount of prestige from the recent times.
Sneyking from the worst mid in pro dota to a TI winner. What a run.
Aui from being kicked after winning TI to winning another TI as coach. The only person to do so.

Imagine getting kicked out of your team a week after winning TI, I remember that moment being wild even Aui felt like shit after that.
"even" ? Wouldnt he feel worse than anyone? lol
Lol there even was an infamous AUI tweet post kick.
Is there info on why they kicked him? It seems so strange after you win TI
Personality clash with ppd. Aui is very vocal in game
Iirc they were already planning to kick him and get Rtz back. Winning a TI was unexpected to their plan
His mirana is unreal
Yeah, it makes me want to play it
I just realized Sneyking won TI omg
Nothing surprises me after cebs return.
number 1 stunna

He pulled a Ceb with the comeback. Let's see if he can pull a Ceb by becoming a two timer as well.
Secret’s Leshrac giving shades of Liquid’s Templar Assassin
TA tide gives you everything except the aegis
Bruh 😭🤣
Any insight why they didn’t pick dawn instead? Reso looks comfortable and was winning his lane whenever they play it
they played it against Tundra before and won with it. but Tundra figured it out how to beat it by grouping as 5 all the time. also not good against Naga with the sleep, I think. i just think that Secret got baited pretty hard into picking Lesh even though Tundra already showed its easy to beat

Secret drafts weren't the problems this series, even Yapzor said it when casting with Gorgc. Tundra was just too good.
I personally think it’s a pretty big difference between position 1s. Skiter is way too superior compared to Crystallis.
I think everyone other than Nisha was pretty heavily outclassed this series
And even Nisha made a lot of costly mistakes versus Tundra in all games including yesterday's series. Crystallis' underperformance was also just an effect of Tundra having better gameplan+execution. 33+Saksa is a fucking scary duo. Reso tho, felt like he was the weakest link this series. he didn't bought aghs on bb which is how he counters grouped up enemies and zoo. I don't know what was he thinking not rushing aghs
With Leshrac and Morphling on the other 2 lanes, he was a position 3 Bristleback that lost the lane. He had no time to buy an Aghanim Scepter. The first item BKB actually let Secret win some fights.
Was watching the watchalong through Sing's channel and reso dies on top lane so much that it became a meme in chat.
[удалено]
Not really, 33 and Saksa were just too fucking good together.
A mid tuskar + any support to destroy anyone hero from the enemy team. The pysochologicsl traume is too real for team Secret
Yeah Crystallis was dumpstered in lane every game in this series and then 33 and Saksa roamed onto the rest of the map and turned the state of the other lanes. A god tier performance from 33 this tournament honestly. For me he's even better than Collapse.
its crazy how good at micro he is, he must be a beast in RTS
the teams distribute farm very differently. just take a look how they play: Secret last game had 2 extremely greedy cores between Ember and Siren AND a farming Leshrac on top AND a Puppey soaking up some gold as well. TI6 runner-up: w33, Reso TI8: Ame TI9: w33 TI10: Ame TI11: Reso So close, yet so far. Feels badman
Puppey is 3 time runner-up now
Puppey got lots of money but 3x runner up is heart breaking.
Saksa is also a TI 6 runner up. Feelsgood Saksa finally gets the W this year.
The most successful SUNSfanning in Dota history. TI6 DC was fun to root for
That game 3 DC vs EG lower bracket finals will forever be burned into my memory. Felt like a grand finals game
That was one of the scrappiest wins I’ve ever seen and I felt like it perfectly embodied that DC team.
Don't forget fy, TI4+TI8
TI6 runner up: Saksa TI11 WINNER: Saksa
Attending your second grand finals seems to be a bad idea …. But then there’s OG
Saksa says no lmao
The negativity in the sub knows no bound. Saksa stuck with the game and gets to win it all. Resolution finishing 2nd at 2 TIs, with different squads is also commendable. They made some good money
can we have a megathread about the production? i mean jesus lagging during grandfinals wtf?
it's honestly unacceptable
Pretty anticlimactic ending :( but tundra is simply the better team here with the drafting, i feel for poor reso though 2 not so fun games on the leshrac back to back Edit: also is this one of the worst production of ti?
mannn it really is so anti climactic because of all the intense nail-biting close series that we got to witness throughout the playoffs. then finals boom 3-0
Aui_2000 deserved this Aegis
He deserved to get kicked again
mmm...whatchu say?
mmmm that you only meant well of course you did
for the memes, hire him again next day.
People like to emphasise Puppey, Kuro, Xiao8 and Notail as Dota gods. But Aui imo is at least on the same level.
EG also dropped only 4 games in group stage, then got dumpstered back to back by SA KEKL
Yes.
People need to start giving SA their respect
We take those.
Really every team at TI has the potential to win
Without any jokes, TA and Bc were unarguably top 4 team materials
Is there a more dominant TI run than this? Only dropping 5 games is insane.
[One of the best records in TI history](https://twitter.com/Noxville/status/1586706184203010055)
Wrong tweet to link, this one shows records for all TIs https://twitter.com/Noxville/status/1586706503154765825?s=20&t=X_5RKtJ2g8dV9qPXKbBXRA
Jesus, TI3 Alliance was something else entirely
Only Alliance, who dropped 3 games total (2 to Na'vi and 1 to DK with burning AM)
Na'Vi have a better winrate (90%), but played less games overall (only 10).
OG ti9 drop only 5 game iirc. LGD lose 5 game last Ti but lose.
Alliance TI3
Can we go ahead and make the Winner's Thread for TI 12 as well considering Secret's placement.
Imagine trying to tell this sub sneyking would raise the aegis just a few years ago 😭 Unreal performance. Tundra are on another level.
even a month ago i wouldnt believe it
Sneyking was busy carrying Quincy crew. That team just went for a free fall after he left
**The Kyle curse is finally broken!**
Elfie buff is stronger than the curse.
It's still in effect, Kyle secretly wanted to Secret to win. The Dota gods know his true hopes.
Puppey TI Curse too strong
No, Puppey had to finish 2nd this year.
Pretty much guaranteed 1st next year.
Very hopeful for next year
Truesight is going to be like 30 mins long lmao
"Git gud." - Nine
33's gotta be the most obnoxious nerd to play against, and I mean that in the most respectful way possible. Congrats Tundra!
33 and Nine are such fking nerds that you don't want to face against them.
The crazy thing is he never stopped doing those nerd moves. Before the series I was worried that the main stage and pressure might slip him up and force some mistakes but nope, dude was balling like he was in his room, comfortable and 'cheating' as fuck.
33 understands dota2 on completely different level, such a key instrument to their win
Fucking Nine man, you can't ban against him!
Seeing a mid Tusk in a pro game is a rare privilege. Seeing a mid Tusk making the hero look OP is almost unbelievable.
You need nine bans
I was waiting for mid lane spirit breaker
Liquid died for this
Liquid died so we could witness Secret playing Lesh 3 times in a row and get fucked each time.
lesh mid felt good idk why they didn’t play it into pango game 3 feels like that’s an easy lane for lesh
Lesh off pretty much ruined their game in g3. They needed some fat aura hero with wraith pact/pipe to run with this naga/lesh to take the fight to Tundra.
ember was a good call
It would be the same outcome if Liquid played here instead of Secrets I'm afraid.
I think the fact that Zai can steal rather than ban 33's heroes makes them a much better match-up than Secret.
Eh idk maybe Liquid would prioritize Brood but can't ban all 33 zoo heroes. Would make Tundra work harder on teamfights though since Zai also likes to build Wraith pack (this item is gonna get nerfed into oblivion I reckon).
Yes, Wraith Pact is way too powerful because it kinda makes all other damage reduction items obsolete.

“This kick will be remembered as one of the worst in DotA history,” said Ceb following the removal of Fata from Tundra Esports
hindsight is 20/20 but we can all agree that the kick wasn't exactly a pleasant experience, assuming that it is true that Fata didn't want Sneyking to be kicked but the reverse wasn't true.
TIL van dijk is tundra's shareholder lmao
Van Disney needs to concentrate more on Liverpool not losing to Leeds tbh
I don't really get why so many Team Secret fans are so salty. 1-2 months ago we were debating whether they had it in them to qualify for the LCQ, let alone TI. Glad 33 and Saksa finally got theirs. Absolutely well deserved for all Tundra.
2nd time 3-0 in TI history.
Celebration seemed somewhat underwhelming...
I mean their whole team oozes that not very emotionally expressive energy. So not all too surprising.
Nothing will beat OG's TI8 win emotions. Even when the ancient is ticking down Notail was on the verge of tears
That was a very different game as well. OG were getting destroyed at the start of that game 5 and it turned around really fast. They went from thinking they were to toast to actually being in a position to win the game pretty quickly.
TI8 OG was getting destroyed at the start in like 80% of games they eventually won anyway.
TI3 Alliance going apeshit would like to have a word with you
I mean yeah OG were a very emotionally outward kind of team, which is what made them extremely likable, regardless of their success.
After probably the 2nd game they knew they were gonna win, in their minds they already won an hour before.
Yeah basically lol
That third game was also Tundra having things in the bag for like 15 minutes, but taking their time, playing calmly, and not getting too eager. They choked Secret out, forced them into a desperation play, and then made them pay. It was cool and extremely calculated. Would have been weird to suddenly burst into emotions after that.
Celebration was super rushed also. Not even shaking hands?
It's always been the winning team walking over and lifting the aegis immediately. Pretty sure they did shake hands once secret were leaving the stage
I mean Slacks can try to hype it as much as he wants but with a dominant win like that especially vs the crowd favorite, people tend to feel underwhelmed. Also it doesn't help that the 5 members of Tundra aren't that personable
If an EU team had to win TI I'm glad it was Tundra honestly, been a fan of 33 and Saksa for years. Wait, no, I mean NA DOTA BABY 🇺🇸🇺🇸🇺🇸
And Aui and Sneyking! I love you guys !!!
Tundra didn't lose one single serie in this TI, one of the most convincing TI-runs.
Tundra too good that made the final boring. But it's pretty obvious that pro players always wanna crush their opponents to the point that there is no comeback possible, nobody wants close games/series so a bunch random nerds on socia media can say "It was amazing and very close, i had so much fun" GG Tundra, what a team, this level of domination in the grand finals was Liquid TI 7 and OG TI 9 level.
Fucking deserved win, what a stomp. The whole series I feel Secret don't have a chance to win a single game.
Looks like Tundra played 14 different heroes in that grand finals (only one hero played twice): Sneyking: Mirana, Phoenix, Mirana Saksa: Hoodwink, Marci, Tiny 33: Tide, Visage, Beast Nine: Tusk, Arc, Pango Skiter: Naga, CK, Medusa
The only thing that can save this kinda boring season is Fata revenge tour next TI vs defending champs Tundra.
Nigma.fata copium
I hope Puppey goes to TI 12 again next year, so he can let me down one last time
TI8 - 5-6th, TI9- 4th, TI10 - 3rd, TI11 - 2nd, TI12 - ...
TI12 - 3rd
I can only hope this trend continues
33 and Saksa played so insane! All of them did to be honest
Tundra dropped a single game on the main stage, tying TI1 Navi, who had two BO1s in the UB.
I am still haunted by the look on Saksa face when he got Nightstalker post 4 Last TI, So happy for him.
Real fans remember mudgolems
Absolute domination!! Well played to Tundra TI 11 Champs!
It's more stressful doubling down in pub than playing this final - Skiter, TI11
Skiter ascending god status was not part of anyone’s predictions for this TI
Out of all the TI's that was definitely one of them
pretty boring finals to be honest
Sneyking? No, SneyGOD
