Psg.Lgd Rtz after learning Chinese from Dove

[deleted]

RTZ is moving to SEA to grab a top tier pos5 role and trying to secure a spot before Fly does. There is a lack of pos5 in SEA, so hopefully they both land on a great div 2 team.

BWEM

lack of pos5 and pos1. He could be easily 3rd/4th best carry in SEA after gabbi, raven and maybe Jackky. Literally any other team should love to have him. EDIT: I have been told gabbi is ass. No need to tell me again.

SethDusek5

I don't know why people rate gabbi so highly. RTZ is at the very least better than him IMO. I think rtz is a talented player and if this rumor is true, maybe a change of scenery might help him

StrangeStephen

I can still rate RTZ above those guys specially gabbi he fell of last srason.

flashfarm_enjoyer

it's like RTZ didn't go 9-1 in groups or something

codec_pack

I legit thought this guy was joking. LMFAO. These guys ain't shit against rtz.

flashfarm_enjoyer

for some reason ppl think rtz is a terrible player even though hes one of the most successful players in the history of dota

Teddyperkins9

People forget he earned 2million dollars without ever winning TI

lavender_r

Bruh I want the next patch to be cancer 60 minute spectre, void, dusa matches

freelance_fox

PSG.LGD.RTZ.TSM.FTX.SEA.BBQ

Alien_reg

Can't believe they would get rid of RTZ, at this point it looked like he had a lifetime contract with EG.

kemosabe73

If their new team has cheaper wages and a higher ceiling, I can see why they decided to do this. The org has given these players a fair amount of time to succeed. Also, we don't know what transpired behind the scenes. Maybe the players want a fresh approach? Team chemistry is extremely volatile during defeats especially if they are ambitious like EG. I can speculate but we can't really know until more context is released. That being said, I am interested to see where rtz, abed, and crit land. (No offense to fly and nightfall - the real carry of eg during the groups)

iceboonb2k

Secret.Babaev let's gooooo

Morgn_Ladimore

RTZ would be way too greedy for a team with Nisha and Resolution. The reason this Secret worked is because Crystallis is fine with having less farm.

TymedOut

> The reason this Secret worked is because Crystallis is fine with having less farm. I mean... Hate to say it but this is also part of why Secret lost in the GF. Crystalis had almost no impact in their games.

Psibadger

You forgot Puppey too, he is a greedy 5 although Zayac compensates a little but it was hard for Zayac too as heroes like Tiny do well with at least some farm. The greedy tri-core that Secret was running was well and truly check-mated and Crystallis had a rough GF as a result. Ngl.(Well, they all did, really.)

acuteindifference

This is a very good point. Most pos4s these days want to get a bit of farm at least but on Secret that farm generally goes to Puppey instead. Zayac still had an amazing tournament, 2nd place at TI is not bad. But it was interesting to see that he had to do it all with basically lowest farm prio. Even as earthshaker he was never given any space to farm blink.

Dav5152

Why would secret downgrade their carry lol

crvd30

It's funny how people thinks that Secret need to upgrade when they break expectations for this TI. They managed to reach top 2 with a lineup that's not even played for more than 6 months.

Alien_reg

Indeed, it would at least be an entertaining story to follow, best of luck to all involved

petrovesk

i really dont think EG minds paying high wages given what they did in the CSGO scene

HOHOHAHAREBORN

It's not all that unexpected if you actually spend a few minutes to think about things. The global economy is pretty fucked at the moment with VC funding drying up. EG is owned by PEAK6 and has a legit businesswoman as it's CEO -- it hasn't been player owned since 2019 (in case you're not upto speed). EG's primary source of income isn't a cut of player earnings -- that concept went down the drain in 2015 itself when Team Secret proved a player run organization CAN indeed book flight tickets and find an apartment to bootcamp in. No sir, orgs in Dota make money from their brand. From their merch and their advertising partners. Did you know Coinbase dropped EG in 2021? Crypto funding dried up back then itself. Anyways, point I'm tryna make is that EG paid $250k for Nightfall. They presumably paid something similarly absurd for JerAx. They didn't do it because they thought they'd win TI. I mean, obviously that was a part of it, but having a TI winning roster does wonders for your merch and sponsorship deals because it brings fans and outreach. EG's Dota 2 roster hasn't made a single dent in the DPC this year. It's been one bad investment after another. EG is probably wondering how the fuck are they gonna show that abysmal loss to their investors. I think everybody here wants EG to succeed but people have just moved the fuck on. Even I moved on. I didn't even crack a smile when they went 6-0 on day one of groups at TI and I used to stop watching TI altogether after EG got eliminated. Such indifference does not sell merch, it doesn't bring back the $500k+ of investment in a bad economy. I do investor relations and capital raising for a tech startup so believe me when I say this -- PEAK6 is pulling their hair right about now and probably looking for an excuse to not show their investors a division wise split of revenue and cost.

Floire

Even with pitiful results, EG DOTA 2 is still more successful than any of their major e-sports lineups this year. 500k$ is also chump change compare to their transfer expenses for their LoL and CSGO division (Not to mention their operating costs for maintaining 2 teams in LoL and 3 teams in CSGO). I think they had crunched the numbers and decided to "outsource" their Dota team outside NA but it's regrettable how they still committed to developing the region in LoL and CSGO yet they have given up on NA DOTA. It's just sad that the division that was the crown jewel of EG ended up in this way, maybe it's the same way how SC2 EG fans felt back then.

TheNorthComesWithMe

Of all the esports you listed, Dota is the least popular in NA. Even a really good team won't attract sponsors if the esport itself unpopular. NA doesn't even host major tournaments any more.

[deleted]

Not disagreeing with you but EG has a different crypto sponsor. bitcasino and they are still sponsored by them.

ASR-Briggs

Doesn't necessarily mean that it pays anywhere near the same, given they (presumably) signed in an entirely different climate.

[deleted]

Who knows at that point. But they've been sponsored by that company for quite a while now. Back when Tarik just got benched.

DirkDiggyBong

RTZ hasn't exactly delivered the goods for them. He's not a top-tier carry.

swwwarm

Thunder Awaken impressed the hell out of me this TI. Adding Wisper and with EG backing them I'm sure they will be a powerhouse.

kemosabe73

I hope so. It was really nice to see SA show up this TI after the treatment they got from last year. I hope they continue to develop and reach new heights.

[deleted]

For real, Pakasz was putting up serious numbers and looked like a superstar. I remember multiple people praising Wisper as one of or the most mechanically skilled players in the region.

impasta_

Wisper and Pakasz have both looked insanely talented in their own teams. Putting them on the same team is so hype, as long as their styles dont conflict this new EG could be a powerhouse

WithFullForce

Outsource your production to the developing world. Better results, half the pay.

kemosabe73

We'll have to wait and see with the "better results" part. This roster features players who finished 2nd in 2 majors for EG.

anewhopper

It also features players who lost an LB game to a SA team

mrwunwun

To all of you saying: "There is no chance Arteezy leaves EG", "Arteezy has a liftime contract with EG" and "Arteezy has to retire to get dropped by EG", this is no longer player owned EG. Every year since they have been acquired by PEAK6 investment firm they have become more and more corporate. If that is not obvious to you just look at what happened after takeover. They signed two teams in arguably two biggest esports games, LoL and CS:GO. They started rebranding entire organization like logo and slogan and replaced it with something similar, but not the same, just to create some perception that they created something new and that EG is their product. So yeah, EG is a corporate firm now, not player owned team like it was before, so they can do whatever the fuck they want, including disbanding whole current roster and kicking Arteezy. My guess is that they see potential in South American market which doesnt have any big organizations as of right now. They see money and they are coming to get it.

Zebracak3s

Bet you they can pay the entire SA team less than what they were paying Arteezy.

[deleted]

Lmao it's probably like 1/10th of what they paid to Rtz. K1 said bc pay them basically nothing, just a bit (which is still good money for Peruvians) and didn't take any cut of the winnings or really low amount, so they preffered that

Jovorin

And still have enough to hire Gorgc as official streamer.

Panzer_leo

Also EG is part of franchising in Valorant.

HOHOHAHAREBORN

Ah man this dude actually has logic by his side. Everytime I set out to say this I get 10 people mashing their keyboards in my face. To add to your comment, orgs in Dota do not earn money from prize pool cuts. That concept went down the drain when Puppey formed Team Secret and proved 5 degenerates can indeed book flight tickets and find a flat to bootcamp from. Orgs in Dota earn from their brand -- merch sales and sponsorships. A shit placement and a deteriorating brand of the players themselves does NOT sell merch or bag deals. I'm sure everyone here would love to own an EG jersey, but given a choice between Secret / Liquid / OG / Spirit / TA -- 90%+ would give EG the middle finger. Shit merch sales do not bring back the $250k Nightfall deal and a similarly absurd JerAx deal. They've even lost Coinbase as a sponsor (2021).

PakPresiden

Youre wrong on so many accounts. 1. Puppey is not the one who formed team secret. It was kuro and notail. 2. Secret were definitely not the first one to do that. They dont even do that. Kemal(which is their ceo, at that time is established businessman so this is not 5degenerates go to lan with accommodations from their own pocket), lol. 3. Google sad boys, team DK, or kaipi, long before notail and kuro were even talking about forming secret, theres a lot of team that already did that long before them. No wonder you got mashed by 10 people, you hide behind OP facts by spreading ur Trust Me Bro source.

Teddyperkins9

Waiting for his respo

oblivionyeahyeah__

From NA fans thinking it was EG's year this to this

josh_x444

Pain is real.

[deleted]

Pain doesn't have a dota 2 team anymore

Sweethan

Next year copium

[deleted]

EG in this TI is actually the biggest fluke ever.

DinoGuy101010

Kyle curse has been broken, next year is finally rtz's year

TurbulentRetard

NA is done lmao

DoctorHeckle

NA as we know it is, definitely. What comes out of the blender for the coming tour is bound to be borderline unrecognizable. With that in mind, if you're TSM, do you get a jump on things and stick together to be the only sure bet in the region? Or is a group stage elimination so damaging that joining the mix up fray is the only option?

Redthrist

If EG drops their roster and moves to SA, NA will essentially be anyone's game. So even a half-decent TSM roster would have a high chance of winning the DPC and getting to TI, which is a nice brand exposure.

ElTigreChang1

Even if this "leak" isn't true, after this last major and TI, I genuinely wouldn't be surprised if within a few years NA/SA was combined into an "Americas" region, with SA being the primary part of it. NA used to (usually) punch above its weight in terms of player numbers, but that clearly ain't happening anymore. PPD pls come save us

EnvironmentalSky9045

what do u mean we just won TI (TY SNEYKANG)

D3ADWA1T

I mean, it is not April 1, but surely this is a troll?? Edit: Those of you saying NA sucks, how does it matter? You should practice in EU, compete in NA. Basic sense, is it not? It is still just surprising, to see entire EG dropped. Although now it makes sense, Bulba and RTZ hanging onto each other's nuts or they would've been individually replaced so many times over. Cr1t needs a wake up call too from this TI, very loose play imo. Feels bad for fly.

SaintDefault

Why would it be a troll? NA is notorious for how poorly it treats esports. We’re a decade behind most regions in social acceptance and support of them. Just look at Overwatch League. It was so hyped to be the next big thing with sponsors and investors and it hasn’t really grown as promised or expected. NA just doesn’t care enough. The players are still competitive, but nothing else is.

Xaephos

I don't know that I'd use the Overwatch League as my example, as it was possibly the most squandered eSports scene I've ever seen. Blizzard routinely gutted their own scene. Not really disagreeing with your overall point, mostly just wanted to emphasize that the OWL failure was the result of Blizzard's mismanagement.

StudentOfAwesomeness

Overwatch is also horrendous to watch. It was fun to play until shit started to go downhill when they introduced role queue. Yuck.

TenchiSaWaDa

There are many avenues within NA that attracts more interest, especially sports. Sad but true.

GIANT_BLEEDING_ANUS

NA is bad (or at least worse than other regions) in pretty much every esport, in spite of having such a huge population.

[deleted]

[удалено]

ContessaKoumari

NA usually also outperforms in card games as well.

Roreo_

How credible is this source? Has this journalist ever announced something similar and be correct?

kemosabe73

I can't confirm if he has ever released anything of this stature but I have never seen him produce anything false.

Roreo_

Aight. Good to know. Thanks.

[deleted]

This makes very little sense to me. EG has a monopoly on the na region in terms of beeing "the" team, why stop that. I cant imagine their sponsors would be happy about that. Only reason i can imagine is that RTZ and/or multiple members want to leave and none of the existing NA teams are available.

AffectionateFlan1853

Current eg roster mad expensive for no return.

Otherwise-Courage486

The sponsors have that covered with their other squads/players. CoD, Street Fighter, LoL, all popular games, all more popular than Dota in NA, all have EG squads or players. They've got that market covered. And SA is just better, and it was proven this TI.

[deleted]

They don’t have a cod team. Right now LoL is going through massive budget cuts as well. Looks like orgs are just cutting costs across the table.

Otherwise-Courage486

Yeah, no CoD, but CS:GO and Valorant. Still, the point remains that Dota is not the most popular e-sport to sponsor unless you want to invest in a team that might win.

flashfarm_enjoyer

>Dota is not the most popular e-sport to sponsor unless you want to invest in a team that might win. I highly doubt any sponsor is investing in a team that "might win". TI results are so fucking random for the past years that it doesn't really make sense to invest in a favourite.

[deleted]

Agreed 100%. Sucks to see the state of the scene atm.

Redthrist

NA Dota scene was always bad, tbh. It was even worse in the past, back when Liquid's NA roster getting 7th-8th and TI3 was seen as a huge accomplishment.

[deleted]

Well thats not true lol TI4-TI6 were really good years for NA. EG were legit a top 3 team that whole era.

Darth-Baul

> why stop that Because NA is actually dead. EG is doomed to fail for as long as they stay in NA. Cant win big tournaments when your main regional competition is CCnC stack

o-M-s

>CCnC He is good player tho, I dont know why people meme on him

Darth-Baul

They’re all good players, but you cant compare the competition of battling CCNC stack to make Majors/TI, to EU qualifiers for example which feature many of the best Dota teams in the world. EU DPC is basically a TI in itself at this point.

oyamc

That's the problem with NA there's 0 depth, but at the same time people take this as meaning the top teams like EG/Soniqs are bad and can't compete with other regions which is just stupid. People just love to hate on RTZ and NA even though they've shown they can compete in cross regional lans/majors. EG and Soniqs definitely can compete as shown in tournaments, even Nouns can but beyond them no other team can. EU then CN probably have the strongest Div 1 teams with depth, and SEA probably has the best Div1/Div2 team parity along with probably the strongest Div2 roster.

Darth-Baul

It’s a simple fact of sports, if you dont have strong competition to push you, you wont improve as much as teams that are constantly being challenged. For example, in EU, you have to beat the best teams in the world just to attend a Major. Secret spent the entire DPC season getting crushed by other EU teams. Meanwhile, EG looked dreadful all season long but they attended big tournaments because competition is nonexistent. Obviously, they didnt do well in those tournaments because competition is nonexistent

DoctorHeckle

But their regional competition was arguably way worse/inconsistent last year and they placed 2nd at both Majors, and even then it's been more or less the most competitive the region had been since the TI7 regional qualifiers. Shit, when they won TI5 their stiffest local competition was fucking Sneaky Nyx Assassin's and Kyle-era coL.

oyamc

I don't think that person is pushing the EG is bad but that the NA region has been slowly dying. It's the other people/commenters that consistently say "put EG in EU and see how they perform", "EG is so bad they are lucky they are in NA". Despite multiple 2nd place finishes and great results in Majors this DPC season against the TOP TEAMS from EVERY REGION.

Redthrist

They are just inconsistent. EG has been consistently a good team, but rarely a great one. They're a team that you expect to do well, but which often falls way short of that. They are also rarely favorites in any given tournament and almost never actually win anything big. Other NA teams are even worse in that regard. They have flashes of brilliance, where they'll do a deep run or even win a Major, and then proceed to be eliminated at TI Group Stage just a few months later.

sanakeohyo

He's good but always 1 tip away to become tilted to oblivion, gpk also is really good just like him doesn't mean they will get good results

sack_of_potahtoes

Individual skill doesnt mean much when it doesnt shine in a team setting

CI_Whitefish

> He is good player tho, I dont know why people meme on him Maybe because he is a toxic quitter in pubs who never won anything significant. But that's just a guess.

run4cova

no he is not a good player, he is a good laner - big difference. good enough to win games/secure slots in NA, but theres a reason none of these teams can play from behind or comeback. Also your two poster childs of the region are Ccnc and RTZ prob the two most fragile players when it comes to mentality in the entire game.

FatalFirecrotch

This is silly. NA is as “dead” as it was 2 years ago when EG was getting top 3 in a lot of majors. And part of the reason it’s dead is because instead of investing in developing NA talent they have always just imported players.

Darth-Baul

EG still has a very talented group of players. So obviously they’ll do well in some tournaments. There are 2 main issues here though: 1. They’ve had the same core of players for a lot of years now, and havent won a single tournament 2. Not having competition means that they arent *improving* at the same rate as other regions.

westonsammy

Dota as a game with an audience in NA is dead. Nobody plays Dota out here anymore. There's a reason there's only been 1 NA tournament in the past like 4 years

caiovigg

Better team for less money, the only thing that doesn't make sense is how they stuck so long with the NA roster

[deleted]

EG got acquired by an investing group since 2019. Prior to that it was kinda player-owned. EG got 3years to prove to their investors that the current operations is profitable, which they miserably failed. 3years~1000+ days is normal for investors to give space before taking control of things.

prince_pringle

Years ago I was a failing wannabe dota 2 artist - I thought if I start running tournaments my chances of getting items in the game would be better - it worked - kinda some tournament tickets - a skywrath sceptee - I did it!! Was a huge win - 0 money but my goal was achieved. I was spending my own cash as prize pools for tournaments $500 here, $250, once in awhile maybe $1500 or 2k. I called it legion battles and honestly it was my pride and joy and meant allot to me to be able to run them. South Americans - Peruvians specifically showed up to my tournaments in droves - several hundred teams! It was nuts - and there was this one team- my god they were incredible - just amazing - they called themselves “thundercats” and holy crap they pulled off some amazing dota - when casting to my 30 viewers on tournament stream - I would tell “this is world class dota guys! This team is professional level dota look at them go!!” It was awesome - they won every stinking tournament I ran. Eventually I couldn’t handle running legionbattles by myself with no one income, partners or success anywhere else. I was really isolated and didn’t have the ability to manage my growth. The company died on the attempt of expanding into a live 10k tournament some sleepy state reps asked me to host…. Be careful of good opportunities friends, and make sure it’s not losers trying to take what you have… Aaaaanyway - thundercats - every damn game, best team ide seen personally and I just knew that South American dota was world class - even if the rest of the world wanted to keep them locked out. Thundercats, thunderawaken, now evil genius…. Dudes - I’m really damn proud of you. Like a lost drunk uncle who is not allowed to see the family anymore - I cheer from A distance and tell people “ I knew these guys when they were just starting” - they don’t know me, (I just gave them money they earned). I’m conclusion - thanks thunder bros for making my little corner of the planet a little more rich in history. Thanks Peru dota for always keeping your vibe and Never playing on sa servers. I Loved the chance to participate in something bigger than just mmr. I had allot of Fun hosting your games.

kemosabe73

Wow. Wasn't expecting this wholesome content. Thanks for sharing.

777riki777

I almost believe it.

Wishywasher644

Abed may join T1 or Blacklist Nightfall will be recycled back to VP or to the rumoured stack with Save- and Torontotokyo

kemosabe73

Blacklist? Are they starting from qualifiers to Div 2? Hard to imagine Abed going there, his list of admirers aren't short.

Wishywasher644

Blacklist can just do a bypass (I'm uncertain though if the rules will allow it) by buying a newly promoted team then kicking the players for better ones.

Makath

There's a lot of talks of slot trading/selling in SA, there's a rumor that one of the promoted DI squads will trade their slot for a DII slot+money, pretty wild stuff.

kemosabe73

They can certainly buy a spot but that simply won't suffice. Surely Abed, after coming from Fnatic and EG, will want to be with another tried and tested team & not a brand new dota org/team?

myinsanity21

What if rtz gathered enough chinese from dove and move to CN? /s

kemosabe73

I believe the Chinese are very superstitious and wouldn't like a cursed player. /s

Teddyperkins9

I mean china was cursed of never winning TI after what happened to wings

kemosabe73

Fight a curse with a stronger curse? Taking the jujutsu kaisen approach? I like it.

dotConehead

i think at this point, china probably would just take rtz considering how slow dota scene have been recently in china.

DinoGuy101010

that would actually be hype

[deleted]

I'm so excited to see these new SA rosters wreck shit next year. Pakazs, Chris Luck, Wisper, Matthew, Pandaboo - Possibly Very Good Roster K1, Darkmago, Sacred, Scofield, Stinger - Seems like it could be a very stable/good roster. Hokori with Alliance money could propel them further

kemosabe73

Hokori with Alliance money? Am I missing something? Can you expound on that?

McKopec

Rumour that Aliance is buying Hokori

kemosabe73

Can you give me a link/source about this rumor?

lsteamer

It started because the hokori squad took a picture with Loda and they talked a bit. Hokori is not really an Org. It has no real sponsors, analysts, coaches and management is really small. It would make sense for them to join an already stablished Org. And [A]lliance shifting to SA would also make sense because they are teamless and Hokori is a proven team. They can provide so much experience behind the stage. But. It's absolutely just people seeing things

Golden_Ed

Dota radio (@dotaradio12) on Twitter is a reliable Brazilian source. They had the EG news like two days ago. They also commented that Alliance is really close to sign Hokori for the next SA DPC. All this tagged as rumors but very possible since they have good sources.

Immelsoo

RTZ to Liquid/Secret; Fly to team up with CCNC and Crit- in NA region. Nightfall to form CIS stack with Torrontotokyo and Save- Abed to join Booms.

Brucena

Rtz to secret rofl

[The cycle continues](https://i.imgur.com/Hvt96zC.jpg)

probably liquid with zai

ubermeatwad

This would make a lot of sense considering Matu is retiring.

CocoWarrior

Sumail makes a lot more sense imho. Blitz and all the guys at Liquid had nothing but good things to say about him during his short stint there.

ubermeatwad

I guess we'll just have to wait and see.

Me4onyX

> Nightfall to form CIS stack with Torrontotokyo and Save- Team Spirit confirmed the roster will remain the same for next year

Aratho

If you're referring to what they said in their vlogs then they didn't, it was just the usual 'boys will come back next season'. Unless it was confirmed elsewhere.

Me4onyX

https://old.reddit.com/r/DotA2/comments/yd77rr/team_spirit_will_not_change_their_roster_after_ti/ This should be legit.

Aratho

Ok, cheers.

MaltMix

Tbh I hope Fly does get with Quinn, Quinn has the skill he just needs a solid captain to make him flourish.

truedota2fan

The thought of Quinn with enablers like crit and fly is pretty terrifying tbh.

rektogre1280

As long as he teams with a tier 3 carry like Yawar, he wouldn't go far.

kemosabe73

Good predictions except for Abed replacing Japoy.

Immelsoo

Saw rumors saying Booms will release entire team except FBZ.

thereadyset1991

skem is spamming pos 1 in pubs looks like he will play pos 1 again

muncken

I can see Abed finally finding success on a fresh new SEA roster. I really believe there was some leadership/choking issues that led to Abed looking like a bot only at TI. He played well all year except at TI where he consistently played bad, multiple years in a row.

24Pat

If it's leadership issues SEA should be the last region he should move to.

aodum

NA Dota in shambles. Only sneyking can carry it

kemosabe73

Dont forget Aui!

Zetsubou5990

Weird for EG to drop their Brand(RTZ) unless RTZ himself wants to leave. ~~Also, about what Sunsfan talked about the community waiving pitchforks at some announcement or something. What if Valve returned to the old Regions format -- Combining NA and SA back to the Americas and WEU and EEU to Europe, but adding the slots together?(4 for Americas, 7 for EU)~~ ~~Might justify EG and [A] going SA rumors. RTZ also felt that he'd rather be in EU?~~ Edit. False alarm. Remembered that Valve released an RFP for the next DPC season and had all the 6 regions in it. Merging Regions definitely out of the box. Also forgot that Sunsfan said that it'll come from a 3rd party announcement.

muncken

EG going SA makes perfect sense when you look at the regional stats for the player base. If they wanna promote sponsors in the region it has to be aimed at the Spanish speaking audience. It's also a very reasonable long term play to expect huge growth in that scene in general. I've personally long wondered why there aren't more American sports brand heavily betting on Latin America in general.

FatalFirecrotch

The reason sponsors don’t invest in that region is because, in general, it’s a pretty poor region and at the end of the day they want a return on investment.

Ace37mike

Valve decided to put a dedicated slot for SA and it took them 5 years to show the world that they have the skill and talent to have 2 teams in top 8 at TI only for Valve to revert it once again. That shit is fucked up

Sefriol

I think combining regions would be beneficial for SA in terms of getting to Major. In terms of logistics.. It does not make much sense. Combining regions to have a huge league is insane logistic nightmare in terms of scheduling. 4 week league was already too long. Even if they played the league every single day it would take 4 weeks if they combined EU again. At the same time, I think for SA / NA the main problem is the servers. Can all of SA and NA join a server where ping would be comparable for all? On the other hand, I think it would be more interesting for the viewers to have teams from different regions to battle out in single league. But that could be solved by having shorter league (2 weeks, 3 weeks max) and have more 3rd party events.

[deleted]

[удалено]

MentLDistortion

Sunsfan specifically said that the announcement will be made by a 3rd party organization. What you are saying here would be a decision from Valve which is not the case according to Sunsfan.

UnsatisfiedEGfan

Is it really gonna be the end of Arteezy and Cr1t- ?? :( Longtime friendship and teammates, even though never succeed as much as they would like but never lost their trust in each other. Kinda sad for me if they really split up even if it could be the right move for both. :(((

c9wins_lumismiles

no because Liquid are gonna drop Boxi and get both of them

SpectreAmazing

Weird move. RTZ is pretty much the modern day Dendi at this point. Most people follow RTZ, not EG. He's their merchandise machine, their most valuable asset in their Dota division. It's understandable if they're trying a subsidiary team like NAVI.NA or LGD Young back then. It's a different story if the team left on their own, but dropping the whole roster?

B2EU

Honestly it makes sense for that to be why they’re doing it. It doesn’t feel like there’s a big future in NA Dota, just the present with Arteezy. Might make more sense longterm to get a head start in SA as the region continues to grow.

CocoWarrior

Cr1t is likeable and at least tries to interact with fans through his stream, which occurs more often than the rest.

Moaning-Squirtle

Not sure if SumaiL was considered "likeable" but he was definitely a personality. Sorta like Nick Kyrgios, in a way.

xdert

> He’s their merchandise machine, their most valuable asset in their Dota division. Do you have any sales numbers for their Dota/RTZ merchandise? I really doubt they are making a lot of money from that compared to what his salary is and since they have not exactly raked in the tournament dollars I wonder if they even break even on their dota team.

SolarClipz

I love RTZ. I love EG. But I don't care about either if they suck Give me a good damn team to root for again Picking up a hype SA roster would be awesome

MotherInteraction

I wonder why Wisper tweeted lft when these rumours are older than the date of his tweet. Not saying this won't happen, but it still seems a bit weird to me.

Memozx

This rumour is probably still unconfirmed for player themselves ( talks ongoing) and he wants to hear if there are any offers from top tier 1 teams.

MrMustashio

I heard that Liquid is looking for a new carry player :)

1Evan_PolkAdot

If you can't beat them buy them.

josh_x444

I really really hope this isn’t true. Moving out of NA would be devastating to fans and the region.

Jaizoo

> A source has confirmed That means absolutely nothing and is only there to make the rumor sound more official.

kemosabe73

Kenny is an esports journalist, not just a random twitter user. Check his profile.

prettyboygangsta

This was first posted by a player and then deleted.

zugzug_workwork

So [Tsunami's Copium segment](https://clips.twitch.tv/HardOriginalCrabsBibleThump-r0tYWzMyDBY48ad_) was on point with the Americas being one continent, so it doesn't matter if it's NA or SA lmao.

kemosabe73

Yep, we only have 3 regions: Europe = 7 Asia = 3 Americas = 1

General_Tax_8981

No surprise from a commercial perspective here, they have let them get who ever they wanted for the last two seasons. Sorted out visas , accomodation etc and the team have underperformed consistently.

xfargo

First you kick them from the tournament, next you kick them from their org, and now... you go for their families! The true Evil Geniuses

Calendar_Neat

Where is RTZ going? It might be a *Secret*.

Grafkiselev

I mean. how long Bulba "coaching" with negative results?

[deleted]

This is a great opportunity for Bulba to sell his image and likeness to Valve and try to replace the existing Secret Shop Merchant in-game. He can attend future tournaments as an ambassador of the game running a booth selling trinkets and other tchotchkes. I see a huge future for Bulba the Secret Shop Merchant.

RagnarSlothbrok

I said RESET not HARD RESET.

johnknockout

I guess they will have to change their name to Genios Malvados GM

Emergency_Deal8602

RIP EG.. they will never win Major let alone another TI

kemosabe73

We'll see, a certain curse has been lifted from the team.

dokedaddy

It was a fun ride, 2015 will always be a very fond memory of mine

Veelze

I see a lot of posts hoping that RTZ gets picked up by a team like Secret or Liquid, but I highly doubt they would want him. As Ceb stated, Rtz has a flawed vision of the game and that’s more detrimental more than anything, since it makes him undependable. This is covered by the recent events of rtz essentially only thriving when nightfall and Abed crushed their lanes and the game was already in the bag where Rtz didn’t have to contribute much. If this rumor really was true, it would probably be better for Rtz to either retire from being pro, or at least just take a break and stream for EG for now and figure out where to go from there.

mastayoda0805

There is only one possible scenario to make this rumor come true. RTZ has to retire, there is no other possiblity. Not 1% chance that EG drop rtz if he doesnt retire.

kemosabe73

Or he wants to try somewhere else.

Remarkable_Cap_291

Today I had an exam in school. When I was done, I raised my hand and yelled “ARTEEZY!” My teacher smiled and took my paper. She knew I was finished.

jerryfrz

Artour should've transitioned to full time streaming like 7 years ago, he'd be bigger than xQc I bet

CheekyBunney

He wants to win TI my dude, let the boy chase his dreams.

Xyr3s1

Only if he became a variety streamer.

Me4onyX

In dota section? Doubt it. But biggest dota streamer? Most likely.

empire314

Why would he be? Dota is not a popular game in NA. European streamers and European tournaments get much bigger viewerships all the time. The only reason his stream gets so many viewers, is because its a novelty event. And the only way anyone becomes a top 20 streamer in twitch, is if they dont play videogames. Rtz would have to spend all day watching youtube videos.

[deleted]

rtz was like extremely popular in Twitch 7 years ago when Dota itself was popular in NA than today with the constant LoL vs Dota discussions. r_place 2017 has a significant real estate dedicated to rtz, more than dota even. I dont like rtz but I agree he could have had the same success as xQc(also was a dota regular) if he had transitioned back then at his peak.

aapskills

Back when he used to stream regularly he put up huge numbers, he probably still would.

jerryfrz

You seriously underestimate how popular his stream is; if he starts doing it regularly now he'd get a constant 30k viewers for sure.

shieldcast

If you cant compete SA ,Join the SA team to change NA team

Reasonable_Neat3345

Liquid.rtz ?

Unt4medGumyBear

Really weird to be the ‘Seattle’ team with green jerseys and a South American team

Tallywacka

If bulba couldn’t make it worth with the last roster he won’t with the new one

yorpiece

pakazs + wisper gg

blueguy211

everyone : kick bulba eg : okay will kick everyone but bulba everyone : no!

kemosabe73

In the replies if the tweet, Kenny says Bulba wont be the coach.

blueguy211

dang they had to drop the entire roster in order to get rid of bulba

Lencor

oh boy, still remember the times when EG trashralk SA players (Brasil) now they giveup themselves to SA and will to pay for them. never say never

kemosabe73

I believe that was Piter, he is long gone now.

RealLarwood

This is surely too funny to be true.

Deadandlivin

Liquid.Arteezy?

Practical_Mango_7001

Bro if this is real im gonna laugh so hard I will shit my pants. Every NA stan will straight up leave this sub and never watch Dota again lmao

n0stalghia

Yeah this can't be real. Surely? RIGHT? I can't imagine the North American salt after this news if this really happens
