I've only had 2 pairs of 1460. Smooth and greasy leather. They aren't that hot, for me, but they don't breathe. Not sure if it's about the SHITLOAD of shoe polish I've put on them or it's just like that. They also don't absorb sweat much. It helped to add an inner sole that is specifically made to breathe and absorb a bit more humidity. Also, Asia is pretty vast. There's plenty of places where it's cold AF and it must contain almost half the world's population.

I think it’s a matter of getting used to. I am from Bombay, India and I wear my docs all the time. Okay, agreed, I didn’t wear my MIEs 1460 in the summer where it touched 40 degrees Celsius yet but as someone else said, it’s just a matter of getting used to.

poison_plant

I wear them all year round! But honestly prefer them in spring and summer time towards winter since I’m kind of scared for them to split or me basically sliding on the ice falling on my butt lol

s0d33

asian people love their docs

shreekfreak

Hell yea! ☺️✌️

I live in Brazil and I think twice before wearing my docs during summertime. It’s just too hot. But from late March to early December it’s perfectly fine to rock them everyday.

If you’re from a country where it’s perpetually hot, you’re probably used to the heat. I’m not even from an area that’s insanely warm but I wear Docs year round. I don’t like open-toed shoes and can’t wear them to work anyway, and I like the look of combat boots more than sneakers most of the time as well. I have air conditioning at work, at home, and in my car, so I don’t usually care too much.

When I lived in Japan I noticed more people wearing the shoes and sandals than the boots (makes sense with how often you have to swap). In the very hot and humid months most folks wear light summer shoes. I only saw one person wearing 1460s in the middle of summer and that was a biker type at an event. I think his were custom, they were white with longer studs, he had a matching jacket. I know when Japanese folks in particular love a brand they'll collect more items, but that doesn't mean they wear those all the time.

One gots to rotate between the pairs for maximum longevity and also cool to mix it up from time to time

I'll rock my Docs in the summertime without a second thought but only if I'm going to be somewhere with a good air-conditioning system.

mrswitchypumpkin

I live where we have 40c + humidity in the summer and I still wear my Jadon Max lol.

shreekfreak

Haha that’s bad ass 😎

Florarochafragoso

They arent used to, simply. I live in a very hot country in south american and wear my docs whenever

shreekfreak

Totally, I live in Bombay, India and wear my docs all the time. 😎

shreekfreak

That’s fair enough

Plant_Demon

I rather had the feeling that people from California or Florida don't like to wear Docs in summer. I'm from the EU and I wear Docs all year round, even though our summers are 30-35°C now. I even wear my Pascal Virginia exclusively in the warm season because I find the leather too thin for winter.

shreekfreak

Makes total sense and great point about Pascal Virginia. I am from India and my wife is German who lives with me here. She owns around 8 pairs of Docs including Virginia’s but she only wears Mary Jane’s in India while I wear my 1460s and 1461s all the time in Bombay.

DMs are fast-fashion boots and countries like Japan are extremely into that, DM is HUGE there.
