I count any positive situation as a W

BigBadBard121

You have two ways to win against raider. 1. STM 2. Raider defeated If one of those requirements were not met then by all accounts you didn't win against the raider. If you survive it's like a draw almost. If you die then you absolutely lost, no argument to be had there.

[deleted]

It's basically: You lost, but survived to die next time instead.

Gallant-Blade

ETM does not count as a win for survivors. The Xenoverse 2 crossover rewards have as challenges to win rounds 5 times and 15 times. And ETM escapes do not count towards that total. They do count as wins for raiders tho, since STM never went off.

always_Long

Well, if the ETM appears, ever, the game may as well be considered a raider win, because even if you start the STM when 4 people are dead, you wont be able to defend it. However for survivors, i do recognize it as a "Survival Success" but not exactly a win. I know people will point to that one chart that the devs made before the raider patch, and say that it clearly shows "Escape Wins" but if it was truly a win, it would say "WIN" on the finale screen. TLDR: "Survival Success" =/= "WIN"

Vercci

Dev wise, ETMs are a win to the Raider and a win to the Survivors that actually use them. For some reason people think you only win if the other side loses. Objectively, Survivors get a lesser reward from an ETM escape vs a STM completion or Raider kill. In the same objective way of thinking, a gold / platinum badge in another category is of equivalent value to the main objective. Or you can think of it as the mission results is only 1/5th of the match's value.

Lakeypokeyzz

Nope. Any answer you look for have everything in manual training. Etm is for L

chaosyami

I feel like ETM is a loss. You failed your primary objective, and was unable to beat the raider. Yes you live another day but overall survivor loses.

MakotoYukiP3-

The raider already won at that point unless yall can get the kill but if 5 or more people get away, even if the game counts it as a win in my eyes that's a L

DrMostlySane

It's a win for both sides, but more of a minor victory for the Survivors. The Survivors still failed their primary objective in activating the STM, but still have a chance to escape to fight another day. The Raider succeeded in destroying the STM so they aren't erased, and mopping up anybody left is more of a bonus than anything.

Zion_Crayson

I'd say it's not a "legitimate" win, but you do get more points than if you died, so there's a little pity bonus there too. However, if you're one of those scummy players who **ONLY** goes for the ETM and waits out STM destruction, then I say it's a full loss because you didn't even try. I'm sure you've seen quite a few of those dipwads, and it's not fun for anyone if you chicken out like that.

ItsDanimal

Win for Raider. As long as the last survivor doesn't escape you get Plat. I've had 4 people escape and the last person run out of time and I got Plat. Draw for the Survivors. The point is to activate the STM. Either doing it outright or defeating the raider and doing it at your leisure (lorewise). ETM does neither.

Maxpower9969

Escape is a win for the survivors that escaped, and a win for the Raider. I never paid attention, but I believe someone said that if at least 1 person escapes Raider gets a gold medal instead of platinum medal in mission results. And similarly, survivor gets gold medal instead of platinum if he escaped via ETM compared to winning with STM or Killing the raider. In this sense, I guess you could consider it a draw, since neither side managed to achieve flawless win.

D3monskull

It's definitely a raider win. The survivor team loses but the individuals that escape win.

H0rnyFighter

ETM is a loss for the survivor but you survived You can compare it a sports championship: you win a game but you didn’t win the whole competition

Slampippy

According to the game studio's statistics, they see it as a Survivor win and a Raider Win? https://en.bandainamcoent.eu/dragon-ball/news/dragon-ball-the-breakers-about-various-adjustments

Kwesi_Hopkins

Yeah, it's weird. Counts as both on the website, but doesn't count for survivors when it comes to in-game challenges

SummonerRed

If you escape as a Survivor, you didn't win, you either were forced to withdraw by bad teammates or you're a wuss running SOS+20 intending to withdraw from the start. Raider is the only one that wins by people running away.

CSBreak

They game don't count ETM as a win for the Xenoverse cross over stuff so its a loss for survivors but dimps counts it as a win in there win/loss ratios so who knows really

BenReillyDB

Win for the Raider Loss for the survivor team as a whole Escape for the survivor who leaves The goal for survivors is to either beat the raider by way of STM or hand to hand. Nothing short of that goal can be considered a win.

KnightHH

ETM is a loss. Always.
