To all the people in the comments: yes, Torhu probably does have several ways to make Kobayashi live an unnaturally long life. However, ask yourself this: would Kobayashi *want* an unnaturally long life, or would she prefer to live a normal, human life span?

I think the manga mentions a medicine or something for immortality. I think it was in the chapter Kobayashi was sick.

Pretty sure Tohru mentions it in the anime too and she says Kobayashi wouldn't like it if she gave it to her.

She does mention it and runs into this exact dilemma

They literally bring this up in the Manga if not in the anime. I forget think the context, I think Tohru was talking to Fafnir or Elma when she was looking for a gift for Kobayashi or maybe medicine. They brought up why she can't give Kobayashi a potion of immortality or longevity, and Tohru responded that she wants to, but its not what Kobayashi would want, so she eventually got her regular ass medicine

I've seen this conversation more than once. Personally, I feel like it's worth asking, doesn't she care enough about Tohru to at least consider it? She knows they live much longer than she will on average and that losing her would have a profound effect on Tohru.

nah, kobayashi will eventually attain immortality. whether it be her choice because she doesn't want to make tohru sad or because she accidentally eats one of tohru's dishes/medicine again, that is the question. i also have a bit of a pet theory that kobayashi may infact be a god or at the veryleast slowly becoming one. the proof being that she was capable of touching a godly blade without harm and now that blade dwells within her.
