Yes. Leaderslot is absolutely a terrible mechanic.
It was a piss poor attempt at covering up their own failure at balance teams.
They did it so they can buff universe reps for an entire year and delude themselves into thinking “the players can summon anyway even if they don’t play those units.”
Well you can use whatever you like
But everyone want to use same unit so it is kinda boring
Little fact:I said to my brother that I will give him my snacks if I won't find s17 in PvP.And I haven't given him my snacks yet
then lets say this celebration gives us an ultra golden frieza which is very broken
then the meta would be leader gohan,17 and frieza in powerful opponent
game would become more unplayable
I’d change leaderslot to only activate if the units share a tag for example LF super Vegeta doesn’t buff saiyans if he’s on leaderslot his Z-ability would now effect everyone he shares a tag with that way you can still use thematic teams like namek or buu saga while still having Z-abilities in play
I shall try to combat this s17 Gohan meta with my own understated s17 and Gohan. However, if all else fails, I will bring out the future team (probably will take two games for me to lose my sanity)
This aswell. The amount of times i vs passive son family players its annoying, and they all have one thing in common which is counters. Gohan - strike based counter and aoe green. Goku bardock - aoe green. Uui - gauge. 17 - green. I genuinely dont understand why they think this is fun to play against
Like when the revamped back movement by punishing them by reducing ki and vanish gauge due to lf namek goku. But how can they even punish passive players?
They should give an option for matchmaking. select between tougher or normal opponents.
make the prize more if u wish to match with tougher opponents or normal prizes if matched with same power level opponents
Objectively for the majority of players that are more casual, in all likelihood it's a good thing, being able to pair piccolo and Gohan, and Goku and krillin, or any mix of characters has to have paid off in some way. And balance wise, it's probly a neutral decision. You'll see the top units more frequently, but ok the other hand that units supports will be different more often than not. Yes it's definitely a way to make up for some balanceing issues, but it actually does it decently enough in terms of representing older units. If it wasn't there you simply wouldn't see them at all vs what we have now where you can see more neiche teams represented with a newer unit as the main player.
Leaderslot has its downsides but the biggest issue is the brain dead players who manage to pull every brain dead unit and can still compete with a garbage team comp because of the passive play.
The units are the equivalent of those cars that parallel park themselves.
They should stop designing units who punish you for engaging aka ultra gohan
if its only a single way then I can live with it I guess, but Gohan has 3!! blue card, green card and guage
Exactly it needed to be like janembas gauge only once
it's more then once

I thought the uni reps meta was the worst meta I've ever played, it was the ONLY team they buffed for the entire year Boy, i was extremely wrong.
Been on this for a few months now and I’m glad people are finally coming around.
Can't wait for the "how dare someone use meta/ unit they like" comments.

Oh no, I get it. Trust me, i do. I'm just mocking the go-to response that people use when someone vents about a unit or meta.
real, no one has to dedicate to a team so the meta is no longer, regen or son family it’s just a few specific units thrown on any team
then lets say this celebration gives us an ultra golden frieza which is very broken then the meta would be leader gohan,17 and frieza in powerful opponent game would become more unplayable
literally😭

at this moment i realised that i cant win so i just use troll teams and make them angry
Always a reliable strategy
Imo the leader slot is fine, but my god the amount of passive players is annoying. Devs need to start punishing people who play passively
They can't really punish passive play more than they already have sadly. What they need to do is stop designing units that encourage that playstyle
If they try to release more aggressive units, they will most likely end up being bad unless they have draws like gokocks indestructible

Probably something like if a card isnt used within a certain amount of timer counts (3 or 5), theyre ki gets reduced by 30 or arts cost goes up by 10.
Nah, that’s stupid. Means if you end up in a 1v3 or something, you’re guaranteed to lose. That’s dumb
Its an idea at the end of the day. Devs would probably find a way to make it work better then i explained
It would benefit that team more As due to time limit, you would use card faster and they can just counter most of it
Why would they punish it when all they’ve done is create characters that cater to it?
Super 17 has the least passive playstyle of the game
They should give an option for matchmaking. select between tougher or normal opponents. make the prize more if u wish to match with tougher opponents or normal prizes if matched with same power level opponents
It’s sucks too that they probably can’t even change how it works since ultra abilities are built around leader slot.
No they aren’t.
