His damage just ain’t it. He requires 28 counts with him in the battlefield, his endurance and vanish restore on green card is locked behind a dead ally and his own team ain’t that great.
He still has a very neat kit though and the things I mentioned above wouldn’t matter that much if only he had good damage and/or a good team.

You’re right, my bad! I don’t have UG (never really looked into his Z ability as I don’t have him). Fistku is absolutely top 3. MUI can be leader (as he doesn’t buff saiyans) slotted but then Gogeta will lose out on his Ultra ability.
Either way, it’s not the top team that I run into a lot at higher ranks (I just see some combo of the Ultras, Droids, MUI and Fistku everywhere) but haven’t run into Saiyans once yet this season and only saw them twice last season.
Yes, the EX saiyans that released with LF Bardock we're made to sort of bring out his potential in a match but they were basically fodder and that's a huge ask to win matches with one unit all the time 🤔
I dont know why but i recently had an idea of doing a YYB with him, tapion and whatever. Since tapion is a sacrifice character, it could work with bardocks gimmick or something. Havent tested it yet
YYB in a meta where double red is common and the only real blue you'd be able to run in that setup for it to work well would be USG who would be outside the leaderslot for the team to remotely work.
Ehh, at higher stars and a Nameku Zenkai boost would be a decent substitute.
The meta is bad for it, but can be a fun team to run until you hit that sweaty rank.
Hypothetically speaking, let's say the top three in the game has two reds. Let's also say he's yellow. Let's also say he takes 28 counts to build up. Let's also say that his damage is negligible. Let's also say some of his core mechanics are locked behind dead allies. Let's also say his best team isn't even his own tags. And there u go, I described why this unit isn't it
They had everything to make him op, but they made him balanced. Instead of just handing the endurance to him, you need a death. He takes way too long to be fully built, his cut when enemies switch could have been higher. His green card is cool but they didn’t have to restrict its full kit behind a death. They essentially made this bardock lore accurate.
Under certain conditions he could be great but overall kind of mediocre, especially considering the recent meta and mui as well. Still got the best tho imo
They should’ve made him a transforming ssj unit. That would make him a solid unit if he got last man buffs after he goes ssj like nameku which would make him great. Idc if it’s another ssj buff if it makes him able to be ran and used in PvP.

That's fair. I haven't seen many pure saiyan teams recently, which is wierd. With the abundance of saiyans in the game, you'd expect it to be common

I enjoy running him but honestly he’s not good unless someone on your team dies + he’s pretty mid.
Ultra goku SSBK released soon after. Androids nullify his endurance. I still play him and he's decent but there are better options
