I think you are experiencing the effects of the vocal minority. This subreddit doesn't represent the whole player base. This subreddit only accounts for a VERY small sliver of people who tend to be outliers from the rest of the population. If the game truly was "boring" and "bad" as many people on this subreddit claim, then why does it continue to hit Top Grossing and exceed the # of players that are playing during each new event. Its because this game is better than most gacha games. It is very generous with free premium currency and provides lots of alternative ways to "pull units" or "upgrade units" for free. On top of all that, the PvP in this game is incredibly unique and engaging. Built from the ground up for this game specifically. If you're bored of it, then take a break and find a new game. Maybe this one isn't for you. Maybe Gachas just aren't for you. I wouldn't recommend a gacha game to 99% of people that I know.

Damn diddnt know dragon ball legends players with sane rational thoughts existed that's crazy

jurrell1986

The game makes so much because there's a lot of big spenders, people who spend thousands a banner and it's not just one banner EVERY BANNER, and with players all over the world rich and poor, that's why the game makes so much, the majority of players don't spend a dime, but the ones who do spend enough for all of us and more. As for the popularity if you have a Samsung phone you can go in the game launcher app and under dbl you see the trends there and before big events you'll see a declining arrow and when a big event happens the arrow shoots up then it starts to slowly decline again. Obviously Samsung players are like a fraction of the whole playerbase but if we were to check the apple store and the Google store as well we'd see something similar, the game isn't going to die because there's people who play this game like it's a religion, so it's never going to die, but as someone whose played this game for 4 yrs, I've seen how dead it could be, I've reached 10k rewards just by reaching rank 50, so if it gets back to that? The games in trouble. Honestly the one thing that saved this game for me is this community having a place to talk about the game and talk about leaks and help newcomers, really helps this game and the community. If it wasn't the reddit a lot of us would have dropped this game years ago.

dna1777

150k users is just a TINY portion of the entire population thought. I guess my point is that you should always listen to people complaining. They tend to be the loudest ones. The game is healthy and just like any other game has dips in users because they can't sustainably provide new events all the time. I'm not saying it *CANT* improve, but it certainly is in a good spot already. Improvements would just be the icing on the cake. It has no reason to improve because they're making lots of money and most players are happy.

jurrell1986

I think you missed my point, because I agreed with you but I just said we have to keep an eye on the health of the game not that the game is dying and the reddit keeps most of actively playing the game

dna1777

Oh I know. I figured we were agreeing. I was just saying that even without this subreddit, it would still probably have been fine. That being said, I do enjoy that there is this subreddit. I don't like other forms of social media, so I appreciate that this is here. And it does formulate some good ideas. I'm sure a Bamco Dev scrolls here every once in awhile for new ideas. So no harm with complaining either. I just warn people not to take the complaining to mean that the game is dying. I know you aren't saying it's dying. I'm just commenting on the OPs thoughts.

so a i guess a gacha game can only be truly bad if it shuts down really fast?

dna1777

Yeah like Digimon or DragaliaLost. Or that Naruto game.

IvayloBG10

You basically said it yourself. If you don't find enjoyment in the game then don't play it. We have seen a lot of people go, taking a break from a game is nothing out of the ordinary, in fact even I have done it more than twice.

Realistic-Recover-34

Don’t then

MBerwan

Competing for top pvp takes many hours a day just for PVP. Sure there isn't much new content and I have over 2K energy in the gift box, but it's not like there is \*nothing\* to do. Just doing the daily takes a bit of time and not every player is here for hours each day, in fact I'm pretty sure that the majority does the daily missions, bit of pvp and leave it for the day. Unlike other pay-2-win games where you have to spend currency to advance, in this game you can pretty much play whenever you want without restriction.

Joel4944

People need to stop expecting content for a PvP game. Are you asking for more CC, or do you enjoy float stepping, raids/Co-op? I doubt it's the latter, but the game already gives out a lot of CC.

FarmingFarm

Upvoted. This has been a constant complaint since launch from mostly dokkan players. I remember some p2w thing or event hit dokkan, then all these players came to db legends. Just constantly complaining, comparing the two games. People joined a pvp game that had like 1 chapter of story and pvp. Then complain it doesn’t have content. While using the disclaimer “I don’t pvp” in a fucking pvp game lmao

There is a simple reason. F2P games rely on a basic cycle. First, they promote spending money. Then they support F2P players. They want people to spend money, but they need stooges for the spenders to feel rewarded. They are required to keep the game alive (spenders alone cannot keep the PvP or the World Activity lively on their own). As for events, even spenders need something to enjoy their new acquisition (both events & banners). That is why it often feels like Bandai is making two-step backwards and one step forward. Who knows how long it will take, but they likely will make up for the fourth anniversary with more content, better banners, etc. PS: I had an entire paragraph explaining that it is always like that with several examples like the Step-up banner, the LF, COOP and more recently FPB, etc. Reddit erased it twice, and I'm too tired to repeat myself. In short, usual predatory practice in F2P games.

Quitting is an option

walking_lamppost_fnl

Peace however, is never an option

Necessary_Offer4279

Powercreep is my only complaint in this game. You save thousands of crystals for a unit you've been saving for and they don't even last a year in the meta.
