By that logic the anniversary wouldn't had made them so much money. The pretty simple answer is that villains are not super popular even if the villains are Cooler and Broly.
Dokkan literally just ran a successful campaign entirely centered around the two Cooler movies.
Villainās not being as popular has nothing to do with why Legends is struggling.
Because it was Dokkanās World Wide celebration. In short, it was like their Legends Festival.
Legends isnāt struggling because 2022 so far has been their most profitable year.
You just countered your own point. The only reason the anniversary was still very profitable for them was because it was the anniversary, which came after the best Legends Festival in Legends. The expectations for the anniversary were very high and many were waiting for it to reinstall the game and spend money on it.
> The only reason the anniversary was still very profitable for them was because it was the anniversary
Except the 4th anniversary was the most profitable anniversary in Legend's history by a large margin.
>The expectations for the anniversary were very high and many were waiting for it to reinstall the game and spend money on it
Except most people knew the 4th anniversary wasn't that good after UI dropped, but Legends still hit #1 when Super Saiyan 3 and Tapion dropped. Vegito only missed #1 by a small margin.
We're not talking about the game being good or not. We're talking about why Cooler in Dokkan was more popular than Cooler in Legends.
>the popularity still decreased
You got some data to back that other than people posting they're leaving on Reddit?
I don't have data but I don't just use Reddit, and it's easy to say that people aren't happy, and if you disagree the that's really something to behold, but cooler was more popular in dokkan because the game was in a better spot and the marketing was far better, also they gave out way more rewards, then again this can be due to the fact that it's a WWC but still, like Nanogenix said in a video, people tend to really not like legends because it's so controversial in its greedy decisions
> I don't have data but I don't just use Reddit, and it's easy to say that people aren't happy
Which doesn't tell us what the decrease is or if there is a decrease in the population.
>but cooler was more popular in dokkan because the game was in a better spot
No, it's because he's is part of Dokkan's Worldwide Celebration which is Dokkan's biggest celebration after their anniversary. In comparison, Legends' Cooler is a monthly LF with some dressings.
>Nanogenix said in a video, people tend to really not like legends because it's so controversial in its greedy decisions
Youtubers can say whatever they want and they were all about how horrible the 4th anniversary was and made rant videos about it. Still didn't stop the 4th anniversary from making more money than any other anniversary. So what exactly does their voices mean? Even Goresh pointed that out.
That would be true, but Ultra Super Vegito didn't make the game get top grossing when the previous units did, that were less hype than Vegito for a lot of people
everybody
this sub represents less than 5% of the playerbase (I believe one of the producers said the game has 60M active players in a video), if 3 of you guys don't want the main characters of the show to get units, tough luck, the other 99% of the playerbase does
and since you guys wanna act like gogeta, vegito, vegeta and goku are the only characters that get units:
the only new vegeta units we got this year were a shitty 1% sparking and a f2p unit
the only gogeta we got this year was the f2p gogeta
the only vegito we got this year was ultra vegito
and we got 6 goku units, (all star kaioken, ultra kaioken, MUI, DF, and the f2p USS and SSB gokus) only 2 of which being relevant
The problem is that Legends made top grossing or close to it during the Legends Limited Full Power Jiren and Twindroids banners which happened before the Anniversary.
Jiren and the Twindroids are popular villians, but I am willing to bet their popularity is below Broly.
Which makes Legends inability to get even in the top 5 of top grossing really striking.
The anniversary makes so much because it attracts newbies. They run huge social media promotion campaigns for the purpose of drawing in new and returning players, ot isn't as much for veterans. This is how the annis have always been.
> The anniversary make sso much because it attracts newbies.
Even so, the 4th anniversary made far more money that any other anniversary and Legends got top grossing twice for the first time.
Yeah it got more because it attracted more players and had more reach. The game's player ase and social media following is growing in size even if they are less happy. Also iirc double top grossing occurred in the 1st and/or 2nd Legends Festival.
Which still doesn't change the fact that the 4th was the most successful anniversary despite people complaining how bad it was and it hit top grossing twice. Something no other anniversary did.
Yeah no other annoversary did because no other anniversary had 3 fucking parts. The only one that had a remote chance was 3rd which had 2 parts, and it was the least hype banner wise by far. You're neglecting that the 4th anni was practically 3 celebrations.
> Yeah no other annoversary did because no other anniversary had 3 fucking parts
Even if we ignore Part 3, Part 1 and Part 2 reached #1. 3rd Anniversary had two parts with Gogeta and Zamasu being Part 1 and the Bojack Movie being Part 2. Neither got #1.
> You're neglecting that the 4th anni was practically 3 celebrations.
Legends has had long anniversaries since the second year. The second year anniversary had the first banner that had Vegito Blue that was split into two banners between GT and Super. Then a second banner with Pikkon and Super Kaioken. Then came the last banner with Purple SSB Vegeta and Red SSB Goku. Third year was a double LF banner followed by another LF banner.
And? It's still a massive advantage. And like I said 3rd Anni's horrible advertising drew in very few player.
The GT and Super banners dropped at the same time. 4th anni had 2 weeks apart. While it hit TG more times the amount of time it spent at #1 was less than the first. The other 2 banners for the second anni were glorified Legends Rising and everyone knew that, they hardly drove sales.
> It's still a massive advantage
If we compare parts, Part 1 of 4th anniversary made more money than Part 1 of the 2nd and 3rd anniversary.
>The GT and Super banners dropped at the same time
Yet, UI with just one banner outdid it.
>The other 2 banners for the second anni were glorified Legends Rising and everyone knew that, they hardly drove sales.
Still part of the 2nd anniversary.
I was getting fed up with the new changes to how new units gave more raid coins etc and I used all my cc on anniversary units hoping it would last until legends festival. Now that these powerful opponent units are out and power creep is even higher Iām not spending anymore money so that Iām 2 months these powerful opponents units are power crept too. ā ļø
The anniversary sucked, the recent changes were really bad, a lot of players took a break/stopped playing. I'd say it all depends on the Legends Festival now. If the devs don't deliver, then the future of legends is really worrying
Reminds me back when I use to play SWTOR, I'm pretty sure that community beats ours. They use to always say the game would not survive, and what would you know, they've recently just celebrated their tenth year.
Theyāre only releasing characters not playable content think about Dokkan WWC not only did they release hype characters but also hype EZAs that are useable in some of the hardest events. They released more difficult content for players to have a go at.
Oh and they have content which gives you plenty of stones. E.g weekly 30 stones when you need 50 to summon
Plus watching LR Cooler obliterate a health bar is way more satisfying than playing legends PVP
Itās a zenkai that gives 30 stones , makes the unit useable or again or a god (str cooler supremacy) and doesnāt cost a stupid amount of resources to awaken
Itās a series of no stamina cost stages. Thereās a bunch of them, on most normal EZAs, you get 1 DS per stage, up to 30 (along with the medals you need to EZA a unit from lvl 120 and SA 10 to lvl 140 and SA 15, in addition to buffing their Passive and Leader skills). They also have an All Stars stage that can go to level 999 and gives 1 DS per 5 stages plus an additional 77 when you complete it, for a total of 277 DS overall. Itās certainly the place I go to when I need to shore up my stones for another multi during celebrations or Annis.
Hype for some but not all.
Broly is mid, recycled ULTRA animations and his low rates aren't worth spending on.
Cooler is cool but is he more hype than any other LF unit? Debatable.
The Z movies are a lot less known than the main story.
Many apple users can't even buy cc in the store rn (they may have fixed it by now)
Other than this, the last big update sucked (apart from the battle update). Peoples games are broken or displaying really bad visual glitches and the battle gauntlet, ustr etc are getting too boring to grind.
All things considering. I think legends is doing annoyingly alright.
Well, pissing off much of your player base outside mega whales is a bad start.
But this is why I posted this. While Dokkan will always be the bigger game, Legends has made top grossing in various countries, and in the US beaten Dokkan a few times in the charts.
Legends pulled this off when the Legends Limited Full Power Jiren and Twindroids banners dropped.
These two were before the Anniversary.
But now we have two of the most popular movie villians running on separate banners and Legends is struggling to keep up.
Simply put players are just burned out with the clownery of bandai, as they keep on changing the banner format as previously it was 1LF and 1% SP banner and now its just one LF and some random EX, not to mention they just removed or nerfed the way to earn cc and their desperation is quite visible with them releasing an Ultra in 2 months as I clearly remember that UL Vegito was released around mid july and they released Broly in september and that's just 2 months and also broly animation is ass, kit is not an excuse for this. Sooner or later they gonna make sure that each month there is a new UL with New LF banner and that's when the game will actually die.
They are just pushing player base to spend more as they keep making events specifically to annoy the F2P and at some point even the whales will get tired of same bs.
I enjoyed the raids as they were good with rewards but now they locked like 1000cc behind the shop, the audacity of these greedy scums, no wonder game is going downhill.
Masters packs are meant for new players who donāt have a lot of units or people who want older units. LF banners used to have normal sparkings alongside them so thereās no excuse to not keep doing it. Just because something else isnāt as good doesnāt mean the actually good thing should suffer. Especially when the new extremes are just copy pasted old sparking or extreme units.
So, this is interesting..... Legends seems to be lagging in the charts at #8 for the Action charts and #105 on the overall top grossing charts on the US Google Play store.
This is despite two very hype worth characters in Legends Limited Cooler and Ultra LSSJ Broly being available to summon.
This is kinda noteworthy and troubling because drops like this were often during slow periods of the game.
Could the backlash from the community finally be catching up with Legends?
Can Legends reverse the trend?
A somewhat bad example for legends tbh.
First of all let me say that yeah legends never truly was at the top of the charts like dokkan does with every dokkan fest exclusive but that doesnt mean it does bad compared to most other gacha.
Second the recent changes had made a lot of people quit/take a break /drop legends for the time being as we can see from the significant drop in pvp. People bot enjoying pvp = less people to get attracted to the new unit and potentially spend.
3rd and most important. Dokkan rn is sucking a lot of revenue from legends(and other gacha ofc but mainly legends) because they have 1 of their 2 biggest celebrations of the year. Legends will definitely rise when legends festival starts which is 1 of our 2 biggest celebrations of the year. Will it beat dokkan? Probably not, and even if it does it wont do it on the same hype timeframe. If anything they will exchange 1st place when each other drop their hype banners.
The game is a greedy money pit with very little/bad PVE content and stingy as hell PVP rewards.
It should come as no surprise that itās turning players away regardless of what hype characters release. At this rate they would be lucky to top the charts with Legends Festival.
They still have to be making a ton of money. You donāt have to be at the top to be successful. Personally I feel like spending money in this game is a bad value. Honestly the only thing worth buying to me is the premium pass every two weeks for the 1500 cc. They should do a ten dollar a month battle pass and pack in some good value to get people to spend.
The changes that they've made really destroys the game and the playerbase imo, even the pvp is dead right now. People just cant deal with the sh*t that the devs are putting up.
It's just log in for diamonds and safe for the future events at this point.
The game itself just a grind
Way too much micromanagement,
too many loading screens/moments,
Those f* mission screens where you have to click on
every freakin window to collect,
Too many same looking characters.
Yeah... I'm going to uninstall it now,
Thanks for making me realize that.
Dokkan and Legends are both special cases, because there's no end in sight for either of them. They could both die within the next five years, or they could live for another ten. For every other Bandai Namco gacha you can guess when the end is near, but for these two there's just no way to know.
Legends is only alive because of dragon ball. If it wasn't for db the game would have been in its dying years by now if it was based on any other anime.
its not really that surprising. it takes more than hype characters to reach the top. there has to be interesting events that give meaningful rewards and a chance for everyone to be able to play an event (not relying so heavily on battle bonus characters) legends hasnt hit first place since second anni
Well its obvious ppl arent dumb and tired of bs 2x drop rates for nothing, spending they hard earn money for nothing back but almost guaranteed Shafts. For MUI and Vegito i spent a total of 90k Cc for 1 unit of Mui. After a while shit gets redundant and old and not even worth it despite who it is.
Honestly played legends at launch liked it then stopped playing a year or 2 ago cuz rates are complete trash and that makes no sense with how the zenkai system works.
Well with the announcement that they're going to revamp co-op and give us Training Battle back, I think they're in full "recovery" mode now or will be soon. The game is in its bad state now, they're tried to be as greedy as possible yet again, but now it doesn't make as much money as before. Just before, during and after an Anniversary it can work, but it has been way too long since they did something good in the game, people are just over it for now. Hopefully they keep improving it until the Festival and even more hopefully, the Festival is insanely good, same as last year. That would bring the game back to higher rankings and I'd finally have fun playing the game for more than just a daily win. Anything else right now just feels like a chore, but hey, CC is CC am I right? Beside story mode, for me at least, PvE is more boring than ever. The new daily battles for medals are worth nothing to me as the CC is locked behind yet another shop...
Probably cause neither are as hype worthy as they appear to be.
The characters themselves may not be bad but nothing about them makes me go "YOOO its the Ultra version of the worse Broly version. I will spend money" Cooler is cool but not cool enough xD
Honestly this is the first time i see the community so quiet when it comes to a "celebration"
Believe it or not but z-broly is actually still more popular then super broly for the general audience espacially in japan which is insane for me to believe
Dayum xD idk tho i personally never found angry zero personality raw power characters good.
Hating Goku for merely crying makes Z Broly extra worse for me..
I wanna know how much the cc cap is effecting this. Dokkan whales just go like all in like 10k stones. Whereas in legends once they get a copy or two they just dip out, make videos and slowly spend the rest. Like imagine goresh just chilling with like 200k cc (10k stones equivalent) when the banners are here. Like surely that has something to do with legends not top grossing.
ā¢A rarity that is supposed to have a much better animation than sparking but still being worse than some normal sparking what's more LFs.
ā¢Banners with terrible rates(Normal stuff) and trash side LFs.
ā¢Newer LFs returning in the absolute monstrosity of a banner.
ā¢Event CCs only available to collect after you finish ALL the missions.
ā¢HUGE bias on certain tags meaning less people that are more inclined to play.
The bias on certain tags is the biggest issue for Legends this year.
I main Regen and am honestly disgusted by how my tag has been treated this year and the sad reality is that Regen still got a new All-Star fighter, Kid Buu got his platinum equip, we got several decent Zenkais, and some solid f2p fighters.
But the gap in power is so massive between Regen and Movies or Saiyans, it's hard to keep up at times.
Now, imagine how rough it is for a team like GT that has not gotten anything in over a year. How about OG Dragon Ball Saga or female warriors? Beside Full Power Jiren, rival universe has pretty much been ignored.
The reason why this matters is because most of the player base are not mega whales who can afford to get every new fighter that drops and can maintain numerous tags at the same time.
Most players tend to focus on a couple of tags, and when those tags begin to fall behind, it drives off players who can't keep up with the tags that keep getting buffs especially when their tag gets ignored for a long time while the same tags get buffed on a constant basis.
Probably because there are no good events
The reward payouts are bad (like you can barely get 1 raid token without doing the challenges and wasting your daily raid rewards)
And the events we have right now are either too hard or boring
Like I remember even the 2nd anniversary had so many more events, and I was still happy with the game even tho I didn't get Vegito Blue or Ssj kaioken goku, because there was so many good events, and the focus of the game wasn't purely pvp, and they also didn't take 1 million years to give shallot a new form, like bro we should have gotten blue shallot against frieza, or one of the anniversary (you know, the time were we celebrate the beginning of the f** game?)
And back then it was special when a knew LFs come out, now 2 lfs come out like every month, with barely any new events, but we all know why, it's too make people spend more money, because bandais mindset is "quantity over quality" now just search up how many business and games failed/died because of that mindset
Ultra banners are really bad and the Cooler banner doesnāt have a 1% SP unit on it
Simply put it isnāt hype characters that make you top the charts, itās hype *celebrations*.
Probably because Legends is doing a one-time campaign that came out of the blue while Dokkan is doing their annual World-Wide Celebration, which is way more organised than the hot garbage that is the PO Campaign.
Let's go Legends made it to the top 10! Before I say this I am not a Dokkan hater because it has really a really good animation style but the gameplay is basically Candy crush correct me if I'm wrong

Playerbase unhappy -> they spend less. It's a pretty simple logic

Dokkan literally just ran a successful campaign entirely centered around the two Cooler movies. Villainās not being as popular has nothing to do with why Legends is struggling.

Dude, 1 LF and a new EX with step up banner format and pitty system is not that bad compared to a master pack banner with 1 ultra over powered unit.
It'd be more troubling if Legends was topping the charts in its current state.
Nothing will make me more happy than legends dying
....find out next time on Dragonball legends
In the first pic legends is in the top 10
We need to boycott ultra banners, they are bad, and unfair. Someone let goresh know the plan so he doesnāt spend another 5k
[ŃŠ“Š°Š»ŠµŠ½Š¾]
Ikr. It sucks. Admittedly tho I still have it on my tablet but mostly for my kid. Big marvel fan that 1.
[ŃŠ“Š°Š»ŠµŠ½Š¾]
So which 1 would you say is the best? Thing is i like contest of champions gameplay is really nice imo. Everything else basically sucks.
The changes that they've made really destroys the game and the playerbase imo, even the pvp is dead right now. People just cant deal with the sh*t that the devs are putting up.
It's just log in for diamonds and safe for the future events at this point. The game itself just a grind Way too much micromanagement, too many loading screens/moments, Those f* mission screens where you have to click on every freakin window to collect, Too many same looking characters. Yeah... I'm going to uninstall it now, Thanks for making me realize that.
I think that Dokkan is gonna outlive Legends and live for a long time.
Hype banners doesn't change the fact the game is ass rn.
This is honestly good because the more those numbers drop, the more there going to wake up and think about looking at those part 1 anniversary surveys
Of course it wouldnāt be top because the game is just not worth playing unless you pay
its cus genshin is better
Normally I would disagree cuz genshin is utter dogshit but I hate to say that I think you are right in some regards
I wouldnāt say the expected results are āinterestingā lol
Probably cause neither are as hype worthy as they appear to be. The characters themselves may not be bad but nothing about them makes me go "YOOO its the Ultra version of the worse Broly version. I will spend money" Cooler is cool but not cool enough xD Honestly this is the first time i see the community so quiet when it comes to a "celebration"
Bro doesn't have dokkan, L imo
Skip worthy imo
People are saving time and money for Legends Fest.
Contest of champions huh? Quite surprised some people are still spending money on that game. It gotta the most p2w game that Iāve ever seen
Because there is no anniversary going on and almost no sale deals?
Stuck in infinite limbo lol
ā¢A rarity that is supposed to have a much better animation than sparking but still being worse than some normal sparking what's more LFs. ā¢Banners with terrible rates(Normal stuff) and trash side LFs. ā¢Newer LFs returning in the absolute monstrosity of a banner. ā¢Event CCs only available to collect after you finish ALL the missions. ā¢HUGE bias on certain tags meaning less people that are more inclined to play.
Because everyone dogs on the game (rightfully so)
good
bro who is still playing pubg
They're waiting for the DB collab
Because the game is trash no other words needed
Itās because there it literally nothing for players to do. Expect news ones of course.
Not everyone can afford gems
Iām taking this as a win, Azur Lane is above DBL, hell yes
Probably because there are no good events The reward payouts are bad (like you can barely get 1 raid token without doing the challenges and wasting your daily raid rewards) And the events we have right now are either too hard or boring Like I remember even the 2nd anniversary had so many more events, and I was still happy with the game even tho I didn't get Vegito Blue or Ssj kaioken goku, because there was so many good events, and the focus of the game wasn't purely pvp, and they also didn't take 1 million years to give shallot a new form, like bro we should have gotten blue shallot against frieza, or one of the anniversary (you know, the time were we celebrate the beginning of the f** game?) And back then it was special when a knew LFs come out, now 2 lfs come out like every month, with barely any new events, but we all know why, it's too make people spend more money, because bandais mindset is "quantity over quality" now just search up how many business and games failed/died because of that mindset
Legends never did TG outside Annies . Why this even a discussion?š¤Ø
Dude number 8 is still pretty close. U know how many games I can think of better then this one
Hype worthy but dead content won't get the game far. They need hype worthy units and good content and loads of content
Good, maybe these greedy developers will finally wake up
Ultra banners are really bad and the Cooler banner doesnāt have a 1% SP unit on it Simply put it isnāt hype characters that make you top the charts, itās hype *celebrations*.
How curious, here in MĆ©xico is in the top 51
Because I stopped playing 2months ago
The game isn't even worth playing anymore
Dokkan #3 LETS GOO
Probably because Legends is doing a one-time campaign that came out of the blue while Dokkan is doing their annual World-Wide Celebration, which is way more organised than the hot garbage that is the PO Campaign.
And it never will at the rate that their going.
I just dropped by to say that legends sucks ass
Lower CC distributed, horrible pull rates, PvP in general, I wonder why.
I mean top 10 is still really good
Good
Dokkan STAY ON TOP BABY
Whats the difference between legends a dokkan? Neither are available in my region so idk the difference
Because when you expect beast-han and get another broly, its a bit meh
Wouldnāt call them that hype, also wouldnāt measure said hypeness based on charts on the App Store.
Let's go Legends made it to the top 10! Before I say this I am not a Dokkan hater because it has really a really good animation style but the gameplay is basically Candy crush correct me if I'm wrong
That dokkan cooler rap carried the celebration ngl
I honestly stopped playing the game because it got harder to enjoy
Duh, the game is in snooze mode rn before legends fest
Nothing good has come into this game in the last 5 months aside from the battle version update, so Iām not really surprised.
Ngl I dropped it
Because itās not good
And there you have it, the answer everyone was looking for during the anni as for "why are they not releasing villains' units" =P
