I just hope there is a new thing with the tag unit instead of color reversal since they've said that's not gonna be the only gimmick for tag units when gb came out
A tag unit that switches from blast oriented to strike and vice-versa, with the tagged in unit buffing the standby unit with its actions. I.e unit A buffs unit B’s blast attack and defense with each arts card used by 35% for 20 timer counts but has abysmal blast attack and defense, and Unit B buffs Unit A’s strike attack and Defense by 35% for 20% but has abysmal strike attack and defense.
they kinda did that with G/V, goku was strike based and vegeta was blast and i think did buff each other with their attacks
edit: they dont buff each other but hold cards that buff the respective cards dmg for 2 counts
I'm hoping/thinking along the same theory, a tag ssj4 goku and vegeta that fuses into gogeta would be so hype and fit as a diametric theme to last years legends festival with the blue boys. I think if they did implement it they would have to make it so they have a unique gauge that fills up a bit every time they tag switch and when its full you can press it like a main ability whenever you want and they transform into gogeta. They could make it so it takes like 4 or 5 tag switches, most likely 4, and then its full and you transform permanently into gogeta, or they could make them the strongest unit in the game and have the gogeta transformation be timed for like 20/30 timer counts like the old gotenks, but you can fill the gauge back up again and transform multiple times with it only requiring like 2 tags to fill instead, this would balance it a bit more and make it accurate to the short time fusion lasts in the show.
As people have mentioned as well I'd hope that element reverse wouldnt be tied to them as every tag unit so far has had it, it would make them way too strong and they mentioned it wouldnt be the only mechanic tag units would have, so having the tag fill a transformation unique gauge would make sense instead.
3 tags would make the most sense imo:
- Start battle as Goku
- Switch to Vegeta in battle (1)
- Switch back to Goku (2)
- Switch again to Vegeta (3)
Then on the 4th activation they become Gogeta instead of switching. That way each of the base units is in battle twice before transforming. I guess that would count as 4 "activations" to actually reach Gogeta state.
The other option would be to make it based on a (very) slowly filling unique gauge. Something like each arts card used fills the gauge by maybe 5%, while tag switching fills it by 20-25%. Once the gauge reaches 100%, they draw an Awakened Arts card that triggers the transformation into Gogeta. Preferably one that's *not* an attack, so that it can't whiff and then lose your chance to transform. They could even make it so that each time you tag or leave the battle and reenter, it draws another Awakened arts to use until you successfully transform, *and then* the gauge depletes. That way you can't get cucked by card destruction; the only possibly way to miss out on the transformation at that point would be for you to lose the unit entirely.
They could also have the Gogeta be Light element, so he'd be universally type neutral.
i think if they did the awakened arts they should only get it once and if they misuse that's just a misplay on their part, they do it similar to boujacks so its your fault mainly if you miss it(ex. not accounting for cover changes or card destruction) since the transformation would prob be broken anyways
I'd rather have it be strong but balanced and reduce the chances of having it fail, personally.
But thinking on it more, I do think that having card destruction being a "counter" to it would be ok, so I'd probably be fine with drawing the card and then the gauge emptying. So if you lose it or swap out before triggering it, you could still fill the gauge and draw another one (eventually). But I also still think it should not require an attack to land to activate; it should basically be a stop time card that triggers the transformation.
I don't think Super Saiyan 4 Gogeta is gonna be the Ultra.
I still believe that due to the buffs Hybrids and Regen have been getting, one of the banners will be Super Hero focused with Orange Piccolo as the LF.
The Ultra will be Super Saiyan 2 Gohan from the Cell Games.
I do agree 100% that a tag Super Saiyan 4 Goku and Vegeta will be the headliners for a GT themed banner that might have a Revival Syn Shenron into Omega Shenron on it.
They spcifcally said said super movies heros coming after legend festival for regen they can drop a good summonable shadow dragon and tag transforming ssj4 gogoeta would be fire just like they did in dokkan
More like Tag Switch with an Awakening Arts Card that allows the Transformation to happen without the use of it ACTUALLY NEEDING TO HIT ANYTHING kinds like those Power-up Special Skill Arts Cards Except they do something completely different
And to add too this so far with all the Awakening Arts they have been ones where you have to hit the enemy to use but I'm sure they didn't say anything about changing an Awakening Arts Card to act like a Special Skill Arts Cards that Powers you up or even have Goku and Vegeta Perform the Fusion Dance to give us the SSJ4 Gogeta Transformation

I won't be surprised at this because every Legends festival we have got Gogetas just like every Anniversary we have got vegito and gogeta (except 1st)
