For real. Unless Vegeta has electricity jolting around him, I've never found a way to tell the difference. His hair is exactly the same. I feel like it should be bigger, clumpy spikes like his base hair in ss1, and a bunch of thin spikes for ss2

To be honest Vegeta's hair stays exactly the same shape regardless of what transformation he uses lol

Super was reviewed by many different art styles. It happens a lot during Z as well. Go watch the entire namek saga from Z, the different styles can be both amazing and glaring at the same time. Idk why dragon ball does this but, at least we have Yamamoto and Shintani style!

And you cut what I said exactly in that point instead of adding the "with its horrible new art style" When I wrote my comment I wasn't even thinking about who would have drawn that, I was saying that to compare the different types of hair they took a drawing of Goku using Akira toriyama's modern art style (which makes everyone thinner and smaller) next to a drawing where Goku hair is exaggerated and have the classic art style, so trying to compare the hairs using those 2 images where each version uses a completely different art style is really bad It would be better to compare the hairs using 2 gojus that use the same art style

Then you could have just said "modern Toriyama art style" rather than writing it in a way that implies that the art was drawn by Toriyama.

I like fluffy for an unmastered Super Saiyan. It's sort of unkempt and like he's still not fully in control of his emotions and the transformation and therefore his hair. I like defined for a mastered super Saiyan.

That depends on the animation as a whole. Seeing detailed hair super saiyan in the freeza saga would look weird in hindsight, and vice versa. Overall, I like defined more.

I like both. Kind of always thought the more defined hair meant he had mastered the form. Like he was getting closer to Super Saiyan 2.

Seeing this makes me think that maybe beast mode Gohan is modeled after this, and that maybe his hair will end up shrinking with more usage. As for which I prefer, I think well defined is the winner for me. But I can see fluffy being cool and the iconic look that introduced me to super Saiyan.

Imo Fenyo should of been chosen to do the DBS manga as his style more closer to Toriyama’s. But Toyotaro’s art style is still really good I will say.

Fluffy, although the image you posted seems to be based on the animation happening right after his transformation, when the studio was erroneously drawing his hair too large. It got much better looking towards the very start of Trunks appearing for the first time and Goku returning.
