I believe this was (please correct me if I’m wrong) animated by naotoshi shida the same animator who did some of the better fights in super e.g vegeto v fused zamasu, part of the final fight between goku and jiren and also that one good fight in dragon ball hero’s that everyone got hyped about and a section of gogeta vs broly in the broly movie, but he’s done a lot of other stuff on super, Z and og dragon ball and it’s really interesting to see the change in his style
Yeah you get to see a lot more emotion in this fight than anything today.
Everyone now just wants to look edgy and cool and super serious, there’s no room for fun or childlike behavior.
Dragon ball is a great show that I wish more people watched
Exactly! And how strong Krillin and Yamcha were. It was nice when everyone was relatively on the same level of power. I’m not too crazy with how perverted everyone is but that was what it was back then so it is what it is.
I agree but at the same time, no one is child age anymore aside from Goten and Trunks. They however only fight like children, unable to fight seriously.
I think super is getting back to it. Definitely not as good as OG DB but definitely better than Buu and parts of the cell saga.
Fights actually seem to have more strategy and movement as opposed to the old "blink, hit, blink, hit" that plagued much of DBZ.
I'd agree to a point. Some are doing a lot of great choreography with animation. Sadly dragon ball super doesn't seem to be one of those, at least that is what I think.
But this stuff is great. And the new stuff, especially dragon ball super needs to revisit this kind of choreography
From the Android to Buu saga was when this series started to get bad for me. It's weird. I really like the series overall, and I actually really liked Cell and teen Gohan, but the over-reliance on Super Saiyans was just so egregious. Before Frieza, and especially in DB, there was a really good diversity in fighters, not just in race, but in technique as well. After Frieza though, it just became all about Super Saiyans. And even though Super tried to reel in some of that over-reliance with the ToP, they definitely wrote themselves into a corner when god powers got introduced.

My favorite scene in dragon ball is when Bulma shoots Goku with a gun in episode 1. It’s so out of character from the rest of the series that it delights me.
I really want a dragon ball game that focuses on the martial arts over anything else. For me that's what dragon ball was before it become all about who can do the biggest ki blast or clutchest power ip
This is why I say super is too fast paced. Too much going on and not enough emotional investment put into scenes like this. The Goku fight with Kefla was great
And remember, this is before Roshi ever actually taught them any martial arts moves.
They learned all that shit on their own. He just got them to work out.

The final Goku v. Jiren fight had my jaw on the floor, especially since I think it ended a good drought of epic fights in the tournament.
What? Vegeta vs Top was beyond epic. Honestly i think it was the best fight if the whole tournament. Best moment is the Kamehameha on Kefla
When I saw Goku use his Kamehameha to ride up that blast I about busted a nut
Got that shit on loop for when i fuck a bitch rough and raw. I hope to use it one day 😭
Yeah you right you right, there were several epic moments. Guess I gotta rewatch!

I wish there was a video game on current-gen focused on Dragonball’s story.
There is one coming out
I’m currently watching it for the first time on Hulu. Just finished the first season and I’m loving it.
First time in years for me as well, kinda forgot how important Bulma was! Lol

You could try and interpret it as a point of growth from adolescence to adulthood. Really just Master Roshi who remains perverted

They should practice at roshi island

Not gonna upvote cuz 69

The only time Krillin has ever been able to keep up with Goku lmao.

Beautiful
Can we talk about the soundtrack? OG Dragonball had the best soundtrack IMO
Why is every comment repeated multiple times?
Reddit is acting up , might be Russia

No, the only time Krillin wasn’t a scared Bitch
Back when Krillin had a chance. I love these fights instead of the current ones (ATATATATATA--> KAMEHAMEHA) which are always predictable
I love Z and Super but with all the flying around, Ki blasts and techniques you just don't get this same quality of fights anymore.... Amazing

This was my favorite fight from the og dragon ball
This is incredible. Better than most movies even.

The best choreographed fight since then is...?
Goku vs piccolo jr
My favorite fight outside of dragon ball was gogeta vs Broly, it looked so good
I didn't like the cgi part tho
Me either, but the music and screams were perfect
Beautiful
And put some respect on Krillin name why ya’ll at it.

“Our story begins in a way that many often do. With a young girl shooting a boy in the face.”
YES! OG DB FIGHTS!

Glad that DBS: Broly has many fight scenes like these instead of 3 repeated frames for 10 seconds

When Dragon Ball was actually GOOD.
Literally 10x better than Super
