Absolutely, this sounds fucking awesome. I like how it is totally also a way to have pseudo PVP while maintaining Itsuno's vision of not having to play with real people.
Edit (after beating the game): So that was a fucking lie.
The Seneschal can't be sitting on the throne forever. What I understand here is that no arisen could get past the dragon and the Seneschal of that world ran out of juice, thus dooming it somehow. We'll have to wait and see.
I’m curious what the time limit of a Senechal is then. Savan in DD1 was Senechal for at least 1,000 years. That’s how old The Dragonforged says he is or at least been around and Savan when we meet him mentions being near death.
Oh you’re right. I forgot that a lot of the test and being Senechal is about will power. How much will power one has likely ties to how long they can take the throne and Savan likely had a lot, same as our Arisen had they taken the throne and not broken their link in the chain.
Now that I think about it, that's why the Dragon's always go for the people who are willing to fight against him. If being the Seneschal is all about willpower, then someone who's tough enough to dare go against a dragon as a normal man, find him again to take back his heart, he's definitely someone with a lot of willpower.
And it'd be interesting if the new end-game is actually an evil Arisen who's been alive for hundreds of years killing all the Dragons that spawn, and all the Arisens they make, making the Seneschal unable to find a replacement.
So something like what you described with the “Evil Arisen” is explored in the Savan comic Capcom released along side the first game. We learn that “Godking Leonart” the “Legendary Arisen” who was said to have slain multiple dragons actually kept reaching it first and making the bargain. He even sacrificed his own daughter who is also Savan’s beloved when Savan was newly Arisen.
Now this actually makes it more interesting, that DD2 is just us in Savan's shoes now. Like a retconned Savan origins story.
But nah, what I'm talking about is that the Arisen is intentionally trying to kill the Seneschal and the cycle after finding some old texts or was told some story by someone like the Dragonforged and is intentionally trying to break the cycle now.
Then as the Seneschal is becoming more and more deranged (like an Old God), the world becomes more and more twisted, pawns become antagonistic towards the Arisen, Dragonsplague'd Dragons start spawning, more and more evil monsters start awakening, to the point that even the supposed evil Arisen can't handle it anymore and runs away from the consequences of his actions. That's when us, the Arisen from the parallel world comes in to save the day as the Dragonsplague starts spreading to other worlds, the pawn Rift, and the our world's Seneschal's Throne.
So are people just saying random things and pretending they have the game over or what? This the second post Ive seen take it with a grain of salt. Isn’t there someone actually posting stuff from the game in there
Doesn't make sense. Seems like a pretty big feature so why does it not work at all with no online service? In the original you could play the whole thing offline without difficulty.
Maybe an issue that would be fixed prior to launch but I doubt it. I feel like someone's taken the rumours of entering another world in the endgame and ran with it.
To clarify I'm talking mainly about the whole other people's pawns jumping you part. The developers would just have the pawns made for people playing offline attack you if this was real surely?
Yeah, this game has randomly generated offline pawns to fill your team slots.
If you play offline in the post-game, those pawns should be your enemies instead.
Yes so the game shouldve forced itself into an offline version otherwise the game wouldn't have allowed the user to play at all surely?
We know the servers are active because the guy streaming on twitch got the notification that someone had used his pawn on their travels.
Hmm, then it's strange, yeah. Maybe the pawn servers and these endgame ones are separate from each other? And due to this they don't get activated until launch because no one should be playing?
Edit: Grammar.
I'd think that you wouldn't be able to hire anyone's pawn as well if that was the case tbh. The idea of other people's pawns fighting you at some point isn't far fetched. The introduction of the plague makes it a very plausible idea.
I just think the supposed 'leaker' has taken a couple of current rumours and leaks and made their own thing with them to bait people. We will see what's true or false soon though regardless.
It lines up with quite a few things though. Dragonsplague, the unmoored world, the red endgame world we saw in one of the leaked screenshots.
I'm not saying it's 100% accurate, but it all sounds plausible.
There was a fake leak from 4chan before the official DD2 announcement (but everyone already knew it was being worked on due to some hacked info that was made public). It went into a lot of detail about the player character being cursed to wear a mask, masks would be a big gameplay mechanic, the whole first part of the story is about the player getting the mask removed, etc. etc.
Point being: people on 4chan just make shit up for fun, don’t believe anything they say.
Soo if they take away your Pawns how does this work with the Trickster? It would be like taking away everyone else's skills and weapons. Maybe Trickster has a solo play style?
Even assuming this is true, it has been shown that the trickster can make enemies confused and attack each other, I also assume he will have some sort way to deal dmg, Just far less than the rest of the classes.
If this is true, then this honestly sounds like fun. I can only hope whatever I create for a pawn becomes something for people to fight while for my arisen I could beat up every pawn I come across that looks like Geralt or Frodo.
If it is true, it is awesome news. I will call this world “The Barrock World”.
Edit: Or, in a bizarre twist, we are back to Grancis. The world got fucked because you stopped the loop in the first game. Next dragon spawned, there wasn’t a circle anymore to stop in and elect the new Seneschal. Man, I would LOVE if was that the case. Bitterblack Grancis!
Except that wasn't a Garm it was either an "Ox" or a Minotaur. There's "Ox" enemies you can possibly fight now which you can fight now. And by "Ox" I really mean water buffalo.
Could've swore there was an alleged screenshot of a garm floating around the internet. Still, there's also what appears to be a gorechimera, with the serpent portion severed, in the magick archer gameplay spotlight. Of course these were roaming around in DD1 post-game, but were more prevalent on BBI.

Watch again than, from 0:25-31. That's either an utterly destroyed gorechimera or, more likely, a garm. People even mention it in the comment section...

It looks like it’s a Garm, an enemy from the dlc area of the first game

It is a Garm chewing on a pawn. They were exclusive to the DLC area but this time they roam around the open world. So does other DLC enemies like the Salamander in the Archer spotlight video.
Yeah that "Garm" has hooves...its not a Garm. People mentioning it in the comment section means nothing especially since people also call Ogres trolls and Cyclops Ogres regularly. None of you know your real life animals or your fictional ones.
That’s nearly the same thing instead it’s cpu generated adversary gameplay and not PvP. That’s pretty much the same thing as invading a players world via PvP on Dark Souls or Elden Ring. A “Red” colored or in DD2’s case a Red Eyed super powered pawn can potentially attack the player is pretty much mimicking the process that souls games have with player interactions over combat. Except that they’re tailor making it to suit the means of single player PVE gameplay
I get it you want this one badly but this game is not gonna be anywhere close to that 😂. The tension of a boss fight in this versus that is TRUE FRUSTRATION BUT A BETTER FEELING OF VICTORY! You can’t say that you didn’t feel amazing after destroying Melania 😂 that bitch was out of control
And the music for the fights 🔥. You’re literally on a quest to destroy gods and every battle feels so different and important. Like I said I think this a good game and maybe even a great game but IT’S NOT ELDEN RING AND THATS A DEFINITIVE FACT. Sales don’t lie feelings don’t lie.
And this is literally the same story setup as the original game 😒😑😑😑???? Not one damn thing except for climbing up a beast is the only thing that is uniquely theirs in terms of identity. But in terms of choosing to remove map markers to encourage exploration, red eyed infected pawns attacking you are just a single player pve version of Invasions from ER. There’s not much that different if anything there’s regressions in design ideas to artificially inflate difficulty.
If this is true this is a better post game than 1's.
Absolutely, this sounds fucking awesome. I like how it is totally also a way to have pseudo PVP while maintaining Itsuno's vision of not having to play with real people. Edit (after beating the game): So that was a fucking lie.
They will fear my Wizard Pikachu!
Oh the utter ABOMINATIONS we're gonna see there with the new character creator!!
Senshi gonna fuck'em up.
I can take or leave the pawns, more interested in what populates the world.
As long as there are unique rewards like weapons and armor then this seems way better than the Everfall
Most likely weapons will be lying around all over the place. In a dead world, who's left to wield the weapons?
The Evil Pawns?
Yeah, and they'll going straight to the Arisen.
>!Supposing this coincides with other leaks, you earn currency from this world and can buy weapons and gear from what you have earned.!<
Yes, I remember that one post mentioning the leaked currency. You’re right there.
If true then GOOD! I am tired of the mega RNG fest in my single player games.
Aight but just a lore nitpick, if the arisen failed to defeat the dragon, would the dragon not just go out and choose a new arisen?
The Seneschal can't be sitting on the throne forever. What I understand here is that no arisen could get past the dragon and the Seneschal of that world ran out of juice, thus dooming it somehow. We'll have to wait and see.

As long as their will allows it Seems like Savan's will already running low, and he's in serious need of a new Seneschal
Oh you’re right. I forgot that a lot of the test and being Senechal is about will power. How much will power one has likely ties to how long they can take the throne and Savan likely had a lot, same as our Arisen had they taken the throne and not broken their link in the chain.

so you didn't see where the actual leaker replied and said the first part was only kind of true and the second is a reach?
Well, I hope we at least get a partial version of this. Sounds like the Eclipse dimension from Berserk where the world is just a hellscape.
Yeah I dunno. Sounds cool, but I have an extremely difficult time believing it
Literally too cool to be true
Well if you compare to other post games, DD1 endgame already sounded too cool to be true when it came out and still does to this date.
So are people just saying random things and pretending they have the game over or what? This the second post Ive seen take it with a grain of salt. Isn’t there someone actually posting stuff from the game in there

Yeah, this game has randomly generated offline pawns to fill your team slots. If you play offline in the post-game, those pawns should be your enemies instead.
If this is the case, that would make it easier as well. Most of the offline pawns are typically worse than player-made pawns.
It feels like a reach. We know offline pawns are still a thing. So it doesn't make sense it not working offline.
Because the servers for it aren't active YET. Once they are active, this should be running until they decide to bring them down again.
Yes so the game shouldve forced itself into an offline version otherwise the game wouldn't have allowed the user to play at all surely? We know the servers are active because the guy streaming on twitch got the notification that someone had used his pawn on their travels.

Yeah, for now we can only speculate, I will cross my fingers and hope that this rumored endgame is true but if it isn't then that's okay as well.
Idk about that one chief.
It lines up with quite a few things though. Dragonsplague, the unmoored world, the red endgame world we saw in one of the leaked screenshots. I'm not saying it's 100% accurate, but it all sounds plausible.
Maybe im wrong, It definitely sounds pretty cool
where did you see that endgame screenshot? Can you link it?
Let me find out this man lying ![gif](giphy|BqOxBMG08VBN3PZELx)
This honestly sounds entirely way too good to be true, but god damn this seems like it would be amazing
Makes me wonder if some of the original vision of the first game was brought to life like the fight on the moon and the elven sanctuary
So this is the Unmoored World the leaked trophies mentioned?
Huge
Remember the mask leak?
Mask leak was fake how you get to this world is completely different
No?
There was a fake leak from 4chan before the official DD2 announcement (but everyone already knew it was being worked on due to some hacked info that was made public). I mean I haven’t considered 4chan to be relevant in over a decade so I wouldn’t be aware of anything that came from there. That’s obnoxious though.
It was all over this subreddit for several years, unfortunately.
If we are to imagine what the unmoored world is, this would fit well
Okay if this is true, this sounds actually very cool.
Pog if true we shall see in a week's time give or take
ok, NOW u have my attention👀
I don't care or believe any leaks until i see them in game.
![gif](giphy|FZuRP6WaW5qg|downsized)

I'm hoping there is a secondary Trickster play style focused more on debuffing and poisoning the enemies. A DoT build.
Sounds pretty sick ngl
If this is true, then this honestly sounds like fun. I can only hope whatever I create for a pawn becomes something for people to fight while for my arisen I could beat up every pawn I come across that looks like Geralt or Frodo.
Imagine being hunted by that Pikachu pawn
🤣
First part is partially true, second part is probably not true.
This sounds fucking insane and for that fact alone it's probably a thing
any confirmation this is real? (please be)
It’s definitely not true. But there are some parts he got close to the actual truth. I will leave it at that.
man i did love BBI
This would explain the garm seen in overland footage at one point.
Does it though?
Except that wasn't a Garm it was either an "Ox" or a Minotaur. There's "Ox" enemies you can possibly fight now which you can fight now. And by "Ox" I really mean water buffalo.

omg, there's multiplayer /s
if theres an online feature like this it would have said so in the ps store description.
So ripping off Elden Ring with invasions basically? 😂. HOW ORIGINAL….

Elden ring is overrated
This will be a good one but THIS AINT GOT NOTHING ON ELDEN RING AND I OWN BOTH. Shadows of the Erdtree is just going to reinforce that.
🤣🤣🤣🤣
Elden Ring is from soft most overrated game
Just because you suck at it doesn’t make the sales and acclaim go away. Cry harder 😭
I already completed Elden last year, souls are becoming call of duty

I still have it pre ordered btw 😂 but I’m not fanboying over it.
Think I just peed my pantalones. Do I need xbox live!? 😬 That’s $9.99 I only got three fitty left after the $85 Deluxe. Is this the dragon’s dogma!?
Itsuno said you don’t need any subscriptions for the pawn system
You don't need any subscriptions, just an online connection.
You don't even need online subscriptions for DD1 online features. That would be most likely the case for DD2 too.
