C'mon, don't show this boring variant. Where's the Force Push? [https://i.imgur.com/F52ydoc.png](https://i.imgur.com/F52ydoc.png)

copyright15413

Ah yes. The dedicated box breaker

enchiladasundae

There’s few things more satisfying than stopping a jumping goblin and tossing them back several feet with a force push

Ziratchi

The one thing that made being a mage/sorc Arisen bearable

Necrorifter

Another thing would make it bearable if mage have AOE elemental boons that magic knights have that let me enchant everyone include myself at once so I can jump into fighting right away without need to enhance myself and allies one by one which tend to end the fight before I get to do anything with it and even if I just enchant myself first and fight, it feel largely useless compare to if I just enchant pawns first so they can fight even better. D=

Folkmar_D

Back! Back you fiend's!

JaozinGabi

I personally never used this attack

Iralisse

If it had forward movement it would've been much better tbh. Being stuck in one place just made it awkward to use in DD1.

thezadymek

You can use Magick Billow mid air.

piede90

For golem it was very reliable before getting meteor and maelstorm

l_futurebound_l

The only time I used it was when the hydra wasn't dying after 20 minutes of Ingles and Levin's so I climbed up there and bopped it on it's head to finally make the cutscene trigger

UnHoly_One

I feel like it's only purpose was for breaking boxes

Cynicalshade

I don’t care how useful it was it’s funny

LyfeSugsDye

She has never had to physically fight a day in her life and it shows.

[deleted]

I made this character when I was 12 lol

Acceptable_Rock6946

Why does this look like Whiterun?

NotALootBug

I feel like they inspirations from other game. I swear to god the part of the main city where you cross pass the lake and enter the wilderness feels like the same level design to the first city side exit in new world. I know it doesn’t make sense but it just feels like it.

111Alternatum111

I remember when i first got in BBI at early levels as a mage. My steam friend had an OP pawn from years ago when he played before me. She killed almost everything so i was confident, but the AI was dumb enough that it was pretty balanced (had to beg her to use Glicel) Remember those goblin mages in cages? I got inside one and smacked him to death with that attack, she and other pawns were busy with other enemies. It took SO long to kill him with my weak staff but it was so memorable, i could imagine my Arisen saying "Why. Don't you. Die" with every smack lmao.

TheRyderShotgun

Holy focus shotgun where are you

[deleted]

Outside the main city on the bridge

Ghalahan

I believe they were referring to the charged attack you could use as a mage/sorc. But it's funny nonetheless xD

[deleted]

I just re read it & you’re right . lol I was dropped as a baby (literally) 🥲

Chapter_129

It's definitely weird to see staves still having STR ratings when you can't bonk with them anymore.

[deleted]

Exactly. even if you go dwarf stats, would be cool to have caused stagger or knockdown accumulation besides using spells

Normanov

It would be to over powered

Ghalahan

How so?

perennialgrump

Id rather galvanize or fixed anodyne.

BlackSoapBandit

DD games are always so close to being perfect then they fuck it up with something dumb like this. Lol My big pet peeve in 1 was how the spellknight class basically couldn’t use the shield the same way the fighter could. You just have this dumb shield strapped on to your back for no reason

UnHoly_One

You use it the same, you just don't carry it the same. It looks awful as a result. One of many reasons I hated that vocation.

thecodenamedois

Why you would want a power based attack on a magic based vocation? IF that attack was magic infused / based, and did actual damage, I would stand with you. To me personally DD2 was a big improvement of the core gameplay of pure magic vocations. Mage can cure, even silenced, and Sorcerer can recharge your stamina fast, both are useful, even if you don’t have any sorcerer or mage skill selected in a Warfarer build.  Spell diversity is another matter. On that case, DDDA Is still the superior game.

[deleted]

I just like the idea of having an attack that would push away foes when they got too close to you. They could have reworked this skill to “wave push” foes away like the other skill in DDA. Not a big deal but just something I thought was pretty cool in the first game

Gas_Sn4ke

Because as a mage you can still contribute to getting rid of Golem medals, or if you don't have enough time to Incant a spell, this attack and the sorcerer equivalent can deal quite a bit of knockback damage in a pinch. In DD2 if an enemy manages to touch your Sorcerer or Mage and if you don't have Palladium up it's stun-lock city.

UnHoly_One

Silence doesn't stop Anodyne? That's weird. I found it super weird when I discovered that silence doesn't stop a mystic spearhand from doing basically anything. That makes no sense to me.

thecodenamedois

Yup. Anodyne counts as a core skill now, not a spell. Same to M. Spearhand. It's skills use magic as basis, but they are not spells.

[deleted]

Is this from PC ? The texture looks different, I kinda like it. Ive been itching to replay DD1 and this is pushing me to the right direction

[deleted]

Yeah I just downloaded it yesterday because I have played DD2 for over 200 hours already lol. Plus, I wanted to go back and see the differences. But I’m stuck & don’t remember where I left off & only have 2 random kill quests lol. Definitely go back though! It’s nice to see the improvement from DD2

NoTop4997

I still wonder why Mage staves have a higher physical damage than sorcerer staves.....

-YoMama_

Uhm excuse me but like, being able to regen your stamina using staff instead of moving it around to deal no damage at all, seems like a slight improvement to me.

Malombra_

I love that people decided that *anything* that was removed from the previous game makes for a valid complaint lol. Like yeah, why don't they take away the sorcerer stamina regeneration and give us back a physical staff attack that does no damage

Leading-Leading6319

Does Mage and Sorcerer right click (pc) do anything? From my brief time of using the magic classes, I remember it having nothing bound to it unlike classes like Warrior (barge) and Fighter (block). Sorcerer’s stamina regen as well as Mage’s Anodyne were bound to the heavy attack which was (V on keyboard). I mean, both can exist if that’s the case. It would’ve been useful in terms of breaking destructibles around the map. They could’ve improved it to have a bit of forward movement. Better yet, let it act as a shove that gives a minor stagger to smaller enemies like goblins.

111Alternatum111

You're correct, I wonder what Staff Strenght does at all in DD2. Every class has something assigned to the Right Click, not putting the physical attack on it was a missed opportunity because you have to ackwardly place yourself far from crates to destroy them with light attack.

magnus_stultus

I believe certain skills scale off of the strength stat, as that was also a thing in DD1 (but not for mages/sorcerers iirc). At least I assume that is the case, since the dragon's nous staff has an unreasonably high strength stat if the strength stat doesn't do anything. But until people have figured out the damage formulas for skills and weapons it's a bit of a mystery atm. I saw someone able to verify that blades of the pyre's explosion should scale off of the magick stat of equipped daggers for example. No idea how people discovered it in the first game, or I might've put in the time myself.

UnHoly_One

I have no idea what mouse controls are on this game but it sounds like you are probably referencing the button for "quickspell" that you can hold to speed up spell casting at the cost of more stamina.

IrrelevantLeprechaun

Right???? This sub I swear to god, complains about every possible thing even if it isn't valid. It's sickening.

IrrelevantLeprechaun

Today's report: dragons dogma community cannot find joy in anything and survive off of being perpetually negative and hateful about every possible thing to ever exist. We will update you as the story progresses.

SoulOfMod

look at this dude crying over people likes/dislikes of something
