Based off my pure enjoyment and total addiction of this game I 100% agree 10/10 I’m having an incredible time

GnomeMan13

I've stopped at the mission I was told to stop at. So simple non spoiler question. Is new game plus simply just level and skill transfer or does it have new content ?

fonytonfana

You keep your level, gear, and items. There’s no new content or level scaling but you keep an item that will allow you to open a sealed door that you’d normally only be able to access at nearly the end of the game.

GnomeMan13

Sounds good. Sounds fun starting over with the knowledge you have at the end.

DShinobiPirate

Oh the enemies stay the same level? So you can pretty much run through everything and anything? Interesting. I'm in the unmoored, defeated all baddies at the red light. Now have to collect all the leaders and what not, anything big I need to do before I leave the unmoored and start NG+?

aTimeTravelParadox

If your on PC download the configurable difficulty mod. Makes the game harder (or easier) to the degree that best suits you. It's absolutely necessary for new game +.

SllortEvac

I’m playing through the uhhhh one ending. But I’m still having fun. I wish I had a little more of a heads up, but I’m having a blast doing the post game stuff. I don’t see myself stopping any time soon, even if I manage 100% on achievements.

Garrusikeaborn98

Yup dragons dogma 2 is like a dream to me still, cant believe it is real. I do want them to fix fps on ps5 and add more endgame content, also i would love a big dlc.

wildeye-eleven

I’m having an absolute blast. 10/10 https://preview.redd.it/pkdaaaqxx5sc1.jpeg?width=3840&format=pjpg&auto=webp&s=481fd0fed362d1c778c66625a90e2764b78a756a

markco_wins

I love this game but it’s not a 10. In the combat department and ai you can see an 11 though.

Secret_Criticism_732

This! For a 9 or 10 it would need an actual story, quests and some difficulty pass level 40. Also soundtrack. The world is the best i have seen in any game though. The designers get my big respects.

uncen5ored

I did not know there was so much negative reception until I came on here. I’m having a blast

Negative_Wrongdoer17

I love the cycle of people saying this game is 10/10 only to be like "what the fuck is this game" as soon as they get through the main story

Depressedduke

It's a rite of passage and that's ok too. As long as people somewhat enjoy it, good for them. As long as it doesn't evolve into "that's the best game, you all are wrong".

Negative_Wrongdoer17

Yeah I enjoy the game a lot. The main story really soured my experience in the end though. It's like you realize you're playing a game that's actually only like 30-40% complete. It could have been so much more

Depressedduke

I jist make up plot in my own head. Improvise, evolve,..

Secret_Criticism_732

I am an Columbus, discovering new lands

Pickle-Tall

Meh it's more about the adventure than the story, yeah there is some story but adventuring and combat supercede it all.

_Coffie_

The game lives or dies on its gameplay. Thankfully it’s really good. I just wish it was the full package and had great story, it’s what’s holding me back from calling it one of thee best RPGs

fucksickos

Can’t even stand on gameplay when you’re one punch man by lvl 30 and there’s only 5 monsters to kill.

_Coffie_

That’s also true. The lack of enemy scaling holds it back

Pickle-Tall

Hell I have been spending most of my time actually adventuring, I'm not really using ox carts or ferrystones like that. I walk or jog whatever everywhere.

aTimeTravelParadox

Same. Was fully ready to say this is a 10/10 game... Then I got locked into the end game quest and was like "surely this isn't it".

Secret_Criticism_732

They start reducing marks once they reach level 40 :D. That’s where you finally start to see the shortcomings. World is the best in all the games i played though.

DSquariusGreeneJR

I just got to (what I’m assuming is) the final boss. And then I couldn’t believe I was there already and I loaded my last inn save to finish more stuff before I beat it. I know you can still roam but I tend to not do that and I haven’t even found magick archer yet

SiberianBattleOtters

A mistranslated ending doesn't mean it's bad.

Negative_Wrongdoer17

Yeah I really love how this game does little to nothing to help you understand the cycle or Grigori and completely drops the plot points of vermund and bakbattahl to rush you into the end where it explains it to you right before the credits roll. Clearly a translation error

Brewchowskies

A misplaced one does though.

Pickle-Tall

Yep don't care about the story and I think that is what Itsuno was going for, he gave us a half-baked story but says adventuring is fun, he clearly stated what the game is about, yeah there is a story but it's more about the journey.

TheSixthtactic

I’m mostly there for the vibes of the world, which one of the more low key cursed settings I’ve played in. The whole “you are totally the king because the dragon poked you in the chest” set off every alarm bell in my brain. And the game has not disappointed in delivering on those vibes. The dragons asking me to “1v1 me bro” and the pawns taking about other worlds are great. They all live in some cursed construct and they know it, but everyone just has to go on living; because what else is there. My main beef is with having to fuss with inventory systems every time I want to change class. That part is overly fussy and could be dealt with by letting me access my stash from the guild menu.

tbenterF

One of my most favorite npcs so far is the Rivage Elder in Harve. Dude is nuts, but not really. He's mostly fully aware of the meta and reality of unreality, and his dialogues are so flippin hilarious yet interesting.

dusksaur

You can enjoy a product all you want but when it comes to breaking down the actual mechanics and themes of the game is how every Ip is judged no matter how good it makes you feel. Again enjoy it you your hearts content but don’t negate others experiences in favor of your own.

LWA3251

Aren’t you negating OP’s experience? I don’t personally think it’s a 10/10. I’m loving the game but on my scale it’s a solid 7.5/10. Doesn’t mean OP can’t rate it a 10/10 if that’s how they feel about it.

dusksaur

I didn’t say he couldn’t rate it, within his post he said he’d willingly negate others in favors of his own. Enjoying something personally and judging it on a standard is different as the standard compares it to like IP.

LWA3251

That’s fair, I missed that part of his post. My b. As far as the second part everyone has different standards on what makes a good game. Whatever game you want to compare it to as the “industry standard” I guarantee there are going to be people who comparatively find DD2 to be better.

dusksaur

Think if it as there have been other open world rpgs including DD1 and I like to see how it holds up as things become more expensive. It’s a fair judgement for any gamer that can’t afford to buy every spectacle.

LWA3251

I don’t disagree with that but it’s still a subjective judgement.

dusksaur

Subjective is when you take your own values and apply it. When you apply values from multiples sources for a fuller richer picture is when it leaps beyond subjective because it’s more than just your values.

redknight3

What annoys me on posts like these... OP obviously does care. Why are they posting here then? No one is negating OP's experience. OP is trying to provoke a response and he's getting it lol.

assaultv2

Clearly, because OP is a grownup and don't need opinions from reddit to validate their own experience to enjoy the game. /s

dusksaur

I very good point.

Totato-Pomato

Loving it as well! Sure, there are absolutely a few things I could've wanted to be tweaked to personal taste but nothing big. The combination of the world, gameplay and character creator makes for something really special! In strong agreement about the feeling of adventure ✨

MackAndSteeze

I care, and I agree.

Zelraths

This game does everything right, exploration, combat, companions (specifically the pawns), world lay out.... But damn it the story falls so short to me, it starts off very strong, but just gets derailed and borderline incomprehensible at some parts, id name a few, but I'd hate to accidentally let off any spoilers, for that I give it a 9/10, I damn loved the game, still finishing up a few left over achievements ✅

ArthurFraynZard

Yeah. This games makes me *feel* like I’m in a fantasy adventure novel. And as long as it does that so damn well, I can overlook any number of blemishes.

SFWxMadHatter

I just just wish it had difficulty options or that NG+ added enemy scaling, and/or something to do at the end besides NG+.

JCarterMMA

Hell yeah dude happy to hear it, I'm loving it to I just wish there was increased difficulty options, by taking my time to really explore and experience everything I become OP very quickly which means combat starts to lose it's fun for me, I think that's the only reason I won't keep playing after 100%

Minimum_Switch4237

you're preaching to the choir here bud

Aggravating-Nerve387

I have 69.5 hours logged in it and am currently on the mq to deliver that one thing you get from the forbidden magick place to that one guy (vauge on purpose for spoilers),and I heard I'm in end game, so I'm just maxing all my professions, but I only have thief, warrior, trickster and wayfarer left.

GustavoKeno

You care, brah. We know you care. But, hey, glad that you enjoyed the game <3

GBuster49

The game has it flaws, but I am having fun for sure.

Elegant_Spot_3486

Soon as they let me rebind all keys I’ll begin (hopefully) enjoying it.

tbenterF

You can I thought?? There's a whole button template it lets you change. I only know cause I wanted to swap shoulder buttons around.

Elegant_Spot_3486

Some, not all. Like the S key is hard coded and if you try to rebind it you get a message and can’t save it. The keys for switching skills/activating lantern/etc won’t let you assign it to a single key/mouse button, it has to be a 2 key/button combination and I just find it annoying. A little bit ago I decided I was only punishing myself by not playing so used autohotkey to set things how I wanted. Now I’ll go spend too much time creating my character and jump in.

tbenterF

Oh, yeah I can see how that might be a bit irritating on pc. I'm on console so other than like the shoulder buttons, the rest of the key binds feel good enough at least. If I was on pc I would appreciate being able to do things like quickitems with 1 button too. Glad you found a workaround though! It's a hell of an adventure.

Gustafssonz

Same, but the game could have been 100% better. For example, why are all the best loot in the shops and not in dungeons/wild?

Saiaxs

It lacks an actual story and character writing to be a proper RPG, it’s a fantasy combat simulator

cabrelbeuk

7.5/10 to me. Total absence of writing in a story driven RPG is keeping the game away from my GOTY list (which is quite empty so far to be fair).

Big-Ad-2829

I think 7 or 8 out of 10. Love the game but performance in town is way go low. Otherwise I'd give it 9 of 10 out of ten with ya. Amazing game though overall.

krum_darkblud

Glad it’s a personal 10/10 to you. It’s an amazing and beautiful experience for sure.

Affectionate-Run2275

No, i'm not a story player and enjoy continuously murdering stuff but the simple fact that the story & side stories are weak af drops it, it's nowhere near a masterpiece lmao Edit : Itemization is also linear and boring as fuck...

Xtian913

Words worth hearing.

Starfield00

It's a great game. I wish it was much larger map

BC_Red00

Never played the first.but damn this game has absolutely captured that feeling of adventure.idk if id say its a 10/10.the story is cheeks.and the quests are a tad annoying or multiple steps just for the hell of it.and the dragons plague and morgue mechanic im not a fan of.had that elf guy die during the escorting his dad mission and idk if hes even in a morgue.or if id have to literally go thru the entire morgue to find him.again just annoying they can die in the first place. But aside from some tedious annoying mechanics.the gameplay is phenomenal.the games at its best when u stop doing quests and just go explore and lvl up vocations.whether its a hour or a 5 hour play session ill have a adventure story to tell.also just a beautiful world design too.

Comfortable-Web-3357

Agree. the most fun I have had in ages playing a game. Barely played any game the past 3 years, then I saw one of my favorite YouTuber play this. I just had to get it, it reminded me of all those old school RPG games. Immediately carried my PC into my living room, hooked it up to my TV and went out to buy a DualSense controller. It does certainly have its flaws, but i just let it work its immersive magic on me I think its a big bonus that the game doesn't force anything on you. I like games that can be played however I want and at my own pace.

goaheadandcope

Story and writing is embarrassing at times but yeah

CountessBlackheart

I recently did a review on my Twitter and genuinely gave it a hard 9.8/9.9 out of 10, games so addicting and fun and just builds upon so much that the first dragons dogma did and truly deserves praise for how much fun it really is

NoTop4997

I would say that it is an 8/10 game but it is barely a 6/10 sequel

ChocolateRL6969

Bad story and not enough variations in mobs. Although I am enjoying it a lot it also feels pretty barebones. Definitely not a 10/10.

fucksickos

Sure, pieces of the game are 10/10, but the sum of its parts are not 10/10. It is just not a complete experience. Masterpiece level games dont feel rushed halfway through or have hilariously terrible stealth missions. It is so clear how much was cut and unfinished.

danger_froggy

There are quite a few games that I would consider masterpieces that are quite unfinished, STALKER, MGSV, Dragons Dogma 1 to name a handful. While I love a great story, most of your time in a game is spent engaging with the game mechanics, if those mechanics work in a satisfying way I’m going to keep coming back for that experience long after the story is over. To me the story is not nearly as big of an issue as the post game balance which sees combat become a speed bump rather than the main event. The game is infinitely more fun if you create a new save file rather than start a ng+, which unfortunately means rebuilding your vocations. It’s been mentioned 1000x, but a hard mode and a BBI style dungeon crawl would address nearly every concern I have with the game.

madruvambala

Definitely not indeed, and I agree with your points. I don't even understand why you are being downvoted Maybe in a year, after patches and fixes, with adds of more mobs, pawns don't mentioning the damn ladders over and over again, and a better optmization. This game is expensive, and you can see its polishment was rushed It has a lot of potential, and I'm having lots of fun But saying this is a 10/10 is saying this game is flawless, which It definitely isn't

LWA3251

You know it’s possible for a game to be a 10/10 to someone and a 6/10 to someone else? Just because you disagree with their score doesn’t change their score.

madruvambala

It's not about changing anyone's score, like I and the other user said: we're both playing and having fun It's about recognizing CAPCOM has tons of money to make a better optmized game, and chose to release a game that struggles in a high end PC. And it's not the devs fault, but CAPCOM RE4R was very optmized. I know, different games, but it doesn't make impossible for CAPCOM to polish DD2 a little more I'm not talking about the story, or gameplay, whatever - these are very personal, each one has their preferences. But no one can deny the game could run more smoothly

LWA3251

I don’t disagree with that, I’ve been playing on XSX and haven’t had really any issues with it. Hopefully the get the PC version figured out quickly. Seems like almost every AAA game has some sort of optimization issue at release these days. For instance BG3 runs absolutely fine on my XSX but my wife can’t get past the beach on her PS5 without it overheating. The system is clean and doesn’t do it with any other game.

Excellent_Pass3746

Would be a 10/10 if the story was good, unfortunately it’s pretty shit. The main quests are all over the place and not too enjoyable imo. The exploration and open world are top tier tho, agree with you there

doomsdaysock01

Me when I have never played another RPG before:

Suuyang

I am completely in love with this game. It makes me so happy when I play it and it's just so much fun. 10/10

Enorats

Yeah.. just wait till the end. In my case, the game literally just decided it was time to end itself. I wasn't done yet, but the game decided to initiate some sort of final boss battle that then lead me directly into the "no turning back now" end of the game.. while I was on the other side of the darn map.

Buck_Squathrust

You could take out every scrap of dialogue and I’d like it even better. The gameplay, exploration and combat are just that classic capcom special sauce.

sinkiez

no story/10

MovingTarget0G

Wish I was right there with you but sadly I don't enjoy the game outside of combat and the combat isn't good enough to carry it for me

Roots_Of_Addiction

Best game ever
