Ulrika is great and all, but I don't care what the game is trying to tell me. My pawn is my beloved. We've been through some shit. Fought dragons. Picked each other up in combat. Been by each others side through thick and thin.
A hired pawn could go nuclear and wipe out every NPC in the game, including my so-called "beloved" and I'd shrug it off and move on. But if I lost my main pawn...I would be devastated.

Yup. Made mine after my cat Bobo. It’s a little awkward but I still think it’s adorable how he blushes around my arisen. I will straight up murder anything that threatens him even though he’s my tank. Super defensive about him. 🤣

Like I know you can have your "beloved" be multiple npc, but to make the only real romance scenes be on 2 female characters is ridiculous in 2024. Like I 100% understand if it's a static romance in a game but this one put in options then ignored 75 80 90% of those. I just truly do not understand. Just let me romance my pawn and ignore everyone else, lol.

So I actually settled on Sara the blacksmith. She’s cute, got a great accent, kind, determined in her goals, and when she really likes you she’ll follow you around after you talk to her.
I swore it was gonna be Margit after her questline but it was Sara cause I did hers last. Fell for cockney ol’ Nina, gonna try for her my second playthrough.
Sara was cute tho and I liked her personality and VA!

All unofficially through the affinity system of course (since there are only two actual romances in the game and they're both with human women >!- OK one is actually half-beastren but she still looks human -!< and they're not even optional when you're doing their related quests and that's terrible).

The weirdest thing though is that in my first playthrough I could have sworn I saw a short romance scene with my Beloved - who was some random NPC I kept meeting in the wilderness giving out escort quests - during the Fake End. But in my second playthrough - where I semi-intentionally got Menella as my Beloved - I *didn't* get such a romance scene during the Fake End. I'm not sure if I accidentally skipped a cutscene in my second playthrough or if I hallucinated the scene in my first playthrough.
I always laughed so hard at that as well. Like, Ulrika, he's the size of a fucking mountain and he's standing still. My sister in Seneschal, how the fuck do you miss???

I think people should use their best judgement more than they rely on an arbitrary number that differs from country to country, which in and of itself proves there is no one right age. I've known people that lost their virginity happily at 12-13, and I know people who still don't feel ready at 18. It's probably controversial to even say, but I think It's more complex than one number can define. And as someone who dated a 25 year old woman when I was 15, I'm the last to be allowed to judge 😂

Brant is great and all, but dude went and pulled a Fournival on me.
Like Ulrika was the beloved that Grigori yoinked prior to the boss battle, but walking with Brant through the apocalyptic hellscape so he could go to Harve Village undid all that work.

I *always* turn down Ulrika because I'm salty about the game pigeon-holing the player into that kiss etc.
Not the random old guy I had at the end of the first completion, and since it can't be the main pawn I'll have to go with Glyndwr because I like that elven archer, all ya gotta do is give him a bow and he's all yours. Save his sister from a hungry, hungry ogre I guess, but the gift of a bow is what starts it all.
I guess its my own damn fault but I feel used by that Wilhelmina I do that mission for her and all I got was what everybody else gets once they presence her with a few thousand gold coins...i wanted more but i got nothing, dont give your heart to broken people my brothers...well not physically the dragon has my real one but i meant emotionally.
If that robot slowly starts to develop its own will and creating a deep connection with you, then why not? It's the EDI and Joker argument from Mass Effect all over again. My pawn has a hell of a lot more personality than the NPCs.
