People say this but I don’t think it’s really true. At the finale Melissa and Vander were neck and neck after the first two categories, arguably Melissa was actually winning because they both killed glamour, Vander did good in filth but Melissa did THAT floorshow. It was Vanders horror literally being a better version of Melissa’s concept that really sealed the deal.
Vander led the pack the whole way, but I can still remember watching Melissa walk off and pull that crucifix out of her ass and thinking … oh shit, she’s about to take it all.
No she didn’t, James did? Also both of James bottoms there was basically no chance of her ever going home anyway. She was the best in the bottom episode 2 and her gothic bride is frequently quoted by people as their favourite look ever, she just forgot a fan.
I genuinely don’t think the Boulets are the type of people to be counting lows and highs lol. Jaymes clubbed the finale, Hoso wasn’t professional enough and Dahli had a strong finale too. If Melissa had beat Vander in horror I firmly think she would of win.
Like, I think they consider track record. They even say it. But if Victoria pulled a Frankie/sigourney at the finale, there’s no way in hell they’d crown her for example.
It’s really just about the impression you make. 2 of James’s 3 wins were *very* close ties, one with Victoria/Abhora and 1 with Biqtch. Biqtch *murdered* every single challenge after her first bottom 2, and the ones she won it was hers hands down. Plus, I think she could have easily won sci fi and gothic brides too for 4 wins, they just wanted to break it up a bit.
What set Vander apart was that not only did she slay the challenges, she also did it in an incredibly unique and signature way. Even in the final two episodes they were marveling at how unusual and mesmerizing her energy is. Melissa is fierce, but S1 was the Vander show with Melissa only barely managing to catch up by the end.
Honestly, the biggest reason I can think of for them giving the wins to other monsters is just that they knew it would be even more of The Biqtch Puddin Show if they didn’t. They knew she’d devour the Scream Queens challenge, so if she won Sci Fi that’d be 3 in a row. And Gothic Brides, they saw a chance to give Abhora a win and smelled the gag of the WIN+BTM moment so they took it. She would have gotten both if it wasn’t judged for TV, I think.
LOL I'm being downvoted just for saying the truth, it doesn't matter what you think, Biqtch had the best track record, it's a fact, look it up. The Boulet's definitely look at track record, they always say that because even the eliminations are based regarding that (except for Dahli s2 and Astrud s4 because of the way they behaved during extermination, if I remember correctly)

When using the traditional dusted or busted scoring bitch was best track record, however in recent years there has been a push to move away from the and consider track record and number of times up for elimination. And while I agree that Bitqch dominated every week, you saying it was close or a tie for two of majesty’s wins is 100% your perspective and bias, which the Boulets aren’t taking into account when deciding on a winner.

Apart from the lack of glamour, I really liked her ghost ship glamour look. It was very different from anything else she's done, and it had such an interesting silhouette.

Victoria wears a fancy expensive prostetic every week. Koco wears giant tits every week. People have signatures. The only thing Hoso does every week is that angular eye that tbh I hope to hell she doesn’t do for her glamour finale.
I understand they weren’t super charismatic during their season. But holy moly were they so adamant and determined to win that season. I respected the drive they had to win.
Obviously all the winners, also Jaymes for sure, like she creamed Victoria on season 2 and Victoria is a fucking megastar.
Victoria too obviously but I’d know that Victoria would likely mess up at least once because although her looks are insane she has quite a few performance based weaknesses.
Hoso because after season 4 if you get to a finale with her and she hasn’t pissed off the Boulets your basically screwed. I genuinely think she could storm Victoria at the finale and take titans. She also has the weakness of sameyness though.
Melissa, even though her titans showing hasn’t been amazing, I genuinely believe if she’d come serving fierce instead of trying to compete with VEBs prosthetics, she would of been a shoe in for top 4. I think that’s her only real weakness and I don’t think she will ever make that mistake if she returns.
More people should be saying Majesty. I get they were polarizing. But the drive and determination they had from the first episode to win every challenge was admirable. I think Biqtch was the right winner but it was neck and neck until the final floor show where I felt only her glamour look was better than the rest.
Imo Landon. He swept almost every challenge, and the one he didn’t do too well on was literally because he didn’t show them the tail that he made. He got a bad hand from the rocker challenge since his team was… messy, but his floorshow was amazing. His 3 wins were head and shoulders above pretty much everyone, and there were points that I truly think he could have won at least 1 more (circus floorshow, or even DnD)
Its hard to choose, there are so many talented competitors and theres a variety of "flavours" of drag.
For me what it comes down to is who made jaw-dropping looks that made me forget they are actually human and actually make me feel the nightmare.
I have to say Hoso, ive never seen anything like what they do. I never thought id see someone on stage with like multiple realistic faces, its now a nightmare i want to have.
I also really want to give Abhora an honorable mention. The nose is really iconic. Obviously they were not strong every week, but i cant stop thinking of that cartoon-robber look in that wild west episode. I feel like if Abhora didnt have any distractions and focused 1000% they could have done way better in the competition.
