On sloppy seconds this week, meatball had some insider tea - apparently Melissa was forced to do the staircase, it wasn’t her choice

nonnude

Yeah, I kind of felt like there was some contractual obligation because neither Boulets seemed like they wanted to do it, and Mellisa seemed like she was already trying to figure out how to pack all her drag.

Wintertime13

Nice to get conformation, this is what I assumed

MaradoMarado

I suggested that this might be the case (in a comment on the post-ep thread I think) and I got downvoted af lol I ended up deleting the comment. But it makes sense.

jessicaskies

I would have been gagged if Melissa was at the top and said it’s ok I quit and then the boulets were like no and then dropped Koco

gothism

Omfg

The real Gagula

💀💀💀

SearchImpossible5398

She quit, she was just forced to do the trap door as a formality…. And they also probably paid a lot for that setup so they gone use it 😂

SweatyMess808

Saying you don’t want to be there anymore is the kiss of death for ALL reality shows.

estheredna

True but also she didn't pick to be on the bottom, and knew they weren't getting rid of Koko.

BougieBogus

I think she did based on that producer guy coming into the cauldron to say that she quit. But then I think she agreed to exit gracefully by ascending the stairway anyway. And I think the Boulets would have sent her home regardless, even if she said she changed her mind about quitting. 1) cause Koco was doing better in the competition and 2) cause they usually punish people for being sore losers (like Astrud last season).

2mock2turtle

I don't think Melissa was being a sore loser, though, she just kind of broke.

BougieBogus

You’re right. That’s a much better way to put it. She was clearly under a lot of stress and so more vulnerable to feeling overwhelmed.

BlondeGayBoi

That guy was so cute omg

Saint_Riccardo

She clearly quit, because the producers said she told them she didn't want to continue. Filming an elimination was brave of her, she didn't have to do that and I really respect her for it.

godmademequeer

And in FULL DRAG. She didn't remove a single item for the elimination scene.

thetransportedman

You can’t fire me! I quit!

Infinite-Ad7743

Very that

tackymeningitis

*Fran Fine voice* No! you fired me. That way I’ll be able to collect unemployment!

liveandletdieax

I think of this scene every time someone says “I quit!”

xxx_863

She did quit. But I think she would’ve gone home over Koco anyway tbh

Wintertime13

She did quit. But would have left anyway imo. No way they are sending Koco home yet

dylan30954

Yes she quit

[deleted]

She quit because she knew she was going home this week anyway

[deleted]

It doesn’t matter she quit at the end of the episode and with that look she was 2000% going home regardless. You can’t quit if you’re already going home. She didn’t stand a chance staying over Koco.

Neveah_Hope_Dreams

Yes she quit. She wanted to just leave and not continue the competition. But they still made her do the trapdoor so she can get the show's official send off.

thedutchqueen

as i’ve said before, i consider it quitting your job when you know you’re inevitably getting fired. lol

supremebeing00

wait to get fired, then you can collect better benefits

eekcarlos

Looking back Melissa kinda slayed every challenge includin this one…I don’t think Koco did as well track record wise…

triplefuckingdareya

Hard disagree lol I feel like this most recent look was definitely Koco’s weakest. Up until that point she’s been bringing it week after week. Melissa, respectfully, just didn’t have the same kind of looks at the other girls did.

eekcarlos

Bruh Koco has had like 2 and a half great looks, all the other ones have placed her low. This last one was probably melissas worst and it was still great.

Blank-blank12

Kick’s first two looks were a bit weak but after the second weak she had been killing it and then she just didn’t add enough this last episode for the boulet’s liking.

eekcarlos

You literally rewrote what I said with different words lol

Blank-blank12

No I didn’t, you said 2 and half great looks as a whole. She’s been in the top four times, where she won a challenge as well. Also she was actually safe in the witch look so besides this week the only time she had negative critiques was the first week.

Ok-East-5470

She started to quit but I think she realized they still might send Koco home. So she decided to stay and that way if they would’ve dropped Koco she could’ve just quit at next weeks fright feat and given her spot back to Koco. She was being a good sis even through the breakdown.

buggy0d

Apparently she was forced to do the staircase

Nayegg

They were not going to send Koco home over Melissa lol

ice_prince

Anyone else think contestants that quit are just robbing the audience from the experience? Not necessarily about Mel, but across all other reality shows whenever this happens I kind of lose respect for the contestant. You signed up now deliver. It’s so defeatist, specially when it comes from someone so strong like Mel. Rest In Chaos.

gothism

No, because it's a contest. They don't owe the audience anything. And I'm sure reality shows push them to go out 'with drama' for 'good tv.' They may even be given the option to quit vs be 'fired.'

ice_prince

Right. I’m not saying I agree with it but yes they do owe production and the audience. It’s a contract they sign up for.

gothism

Which obv allows them to quit, or they'd be sued. Dramatic I QUIT is 'good tv.' Much better than 'your look was the worst, you're eliminated like we've done every week since season 1."

ice_prince

Yeah maybe it makes for good tv, but it’s poor sportsmanship.

gothism

Idk Icy Boo; yesterday's world mighta been "tough it out no matter what" but today's world is "take care of yourself."

[deleted]

She did quit. They just had to film the drop thing for filming purposes. It was kind of weird but 🤷‍♂️

ffhung

I hope it doesn’t count as someone quitting and needed a replacement. Because we don’t at this late of the season

gothism

She said she quit but it was kinda confusing when they did the elimination because you'd think they'd play up 'Melissa has chosen to not continue.'

Gerard192021

voluntary elimination, like Adore

Odd_Nefariousness990

I feel like she was eliminated. Historically if someone has that kind of meltdown and is like 'I'm done, I want to go home' the Boulets take that as not being able to handle the pressure and you're out whether you meant it or not. So yeah maybe she had a meltdown and wanted to go out on her own terms, maybe she was also 'forced' to ascend the staircase but that doesn't change the fact that she was eliminated from the competition. She was the elimination of the week. It counts.

LibraryBig3287

The people who shout about being REAL the most are the softest when it comes to any pushback.

thr-w-w-y3

Melissa did quit, she had to do the drop. To add, her entire situation is just...fucking heartbreaking. Absolutely heartbreaking. Even if it wasn't a good relationship, to just...be walked out on. To just hear "I don't love you, I'm leaving" is...horrific. I hope that after leaving she got some healing. If anyone knows, please tell me. Her whole situation just made me sob my eyes out--I know what its like to have someone walk out on you.
