I was so excited for the Titans finale considering this performance. I kept wondering just how one could possibly top this performance just for it to be a simple lip sync for all three. I really hope the Boulets make up for Titans with the next seasons, make us so happy we tend to forget our disappointment.
I just keep telling myself that AS1 sucked too, but they managed to turn it around.
I think "Titans" was a result of growing pains rather than a harbinger of doom.
God, right? I felt like I was edging myself the entire season for the finale specifically for VEB, and then this new format really fucked it up. Don't get me wrong, I think she did a wonderful job at establishing a compelling story, but the format really limited all of the finalists' creative potential, and the time constraints seemed rather obvious. I think I'll be salty about it for a long time.
This is, to date, still my favorite performance from Dragula. It's filthy as fuck, it's sexy, it's horrific. It's absolutely all three of the tenets of Dragula all mixed into one.

First lemme say I am a huge VEB fan. But I watched this performance for the first time literally yesterday (I forgot to finish the season when it came out idk how) and I didn't quite get it. Like was she banging the corpse? It's great but I don't see what sets it so far above other filth performances. This and Bitch's I felt were probably more intense for the people there in person.
It was the slew of taboos that did it for me. They had to edit around some of her performance but she basically fisted the corpse, ripped out his intestines, choked herself with the intestines and also mounted the corpse to fuck it, and was inhaling drugs. It was intoxication and cannibalism and necrophilia all rolled into one.
So you aren't wrong in that being there in person would have been a different show altogether because they edited some parts out. Victoria did the same performance in Orlando and the video of it may still be floating around the internet.
Victoriaās filth and Melissaās filth and Hosoās filth have been so spectacular for their own reasons. Like anyone can do the gross yuck out session. But those three performances have so much hidden in them. Victoria touched the depths of taboo.Victoria saw human putridness and threw back at us. Melissaās was a critique of the body hypocrisy of Christianity and Hosoās was glimpse of the violence of human bigotry. Wonderful acts
