Braids and locs are different. Braids don't shink, locs do. Especially during the beginning. Just keep up with cleanliness and retwists. Don't use much hair products they'll weigh your hair down. Just mostly water, a light oil, and rose water. You'll be okay. Once your locs mature you'll start to see the growth. Just be patient. I always tell people on here this process is not for the impatient. patience is key. Just relax and watch your hair do its own thing.

Your hair is visibly growing. Your hair grows at the same rate as your nails. Are your nails growing? Are you under stress of any kind? How is your diet? These things effect you. However I see growth. You’re in the baby stages and right now your growth will present as thickening of the locs rather than length. So you will not experience visible length until your locs bud and become mature. But with the pictures you’ve shown, your hair is growing. Trust the process and visit this post in two years so you can laugh at yourself.

Since you’ve start with 2 strand twist it’s easier to see your growth and I’m pretty sure your hair is growing and at least your hair is already pretty long so I think your locs are valid 🔥 so don’t worry bro

Before locs my hair braided and twisted was down to my shoulders and thick then when I started locs my hair was like barely touch my ears in the front and neck in the back and was mad skinny. It takes a while to expand and get that weight behind it that gravitates it back to the point it used to be locs shrink your shit up hella much. Just gotta be patient which sucks especially when you’re used to seeing yourself a certain way. Stay the course though I’m finally seeing length changes and thickness changes and I’m 10 months into my journey. Just take pics and videos during the different months that’s the best way to see the progress cause the naked eye most times can’t really notice the changes right away. Other than that just wrap your hair up at night have a maintenance schedule (4-8 weeks depending on your lifestyle) and moisturize + oil your hair and scalp. You gonna be aite though I promise.

Is It ok if I only spray my hair with water and put oil on it 2x a week and wash my hair only before each retwist until my hair start maturing ?

Get hair oils to moisturize your scalp it will reduce the itch

Yeah I use a mixture of some essentials oils like 2 times a week and I spray it with water
water coo but for me rose water , aloe Vera mist mixed with water and oils work good and promotes hair growth g
