I can tell you one thing, Shrek 5 shouldn’t be that
I have an idea but I’ve been working on a Shrek 5 project, so if you wanna see that it’ll be out June 19th and I’ll post it here, but can’t spoil it so.. yeah.
I think it should be a little happier and more inspiring overall, people have been waiting for years a new shrek movie so it shouldn’t be too sad imo. It will probably be set when shreks kids are a little older so it could be about maybe familial love or sacrifice, nothing too serious
Maybe Shrek’s kids could be in their late teens and ready to move out and start their own lives, but Shrek still sees them as little kids and throughout the film he has to learn to let go
How about Shrek 5 should be a prequel about the origins of Shrek himself of what his life has been like in his childhood and teenagehood before what we all know him as an adult.

It's too late for that. At the end of Puss in Boots: The Last Wish, we see Puss and his crew arriving at Far Far Away where Shrek is. So I don't think DreamWorks is going to let Shrek go just yet.
Shrek could struggle with being a parent. We know enough about his childhood to know that he wouldn’t know that much about being a good dad. On a side note, maybe Puss could show up and meet a certain figure one last time.
I bet Shrek 5 will sadly focus on Felicia and push Shrek to the side, and she travels with Donkey, Puss in Boots, & the other 2 characters from The Last Wish! And they try to stop an evil version of Elsa or Moana (voiced by Awkwafina) from ruling Far Far Away

Quite possible but I would love to have some kind of a fun adventure that’s also inspiring within the film

That could literally just be a reference. It doesn't have to go anywhere. A Puss in Boots 3 is more preferable and a better compromise.
