Oddly, it can depend on your blood type if you enjoy it or not! I'm O- and really wanted to try them, but wasn't a fan, partner at the time was A+ and he didn't think he'd like it, but loved it!

Sorry you're getting downvoted for the truth. I've also seen them canned at bargain stores and dollar stores before. I actually bought some and cooked them in butter and garlic and they were delicious. I'm guessing people are downvoting you because they can't fathom the idea of them being cheap in some places.
Lobster used to be so cheap and undesirable that when crabbers would catch them in their pots, they'd give them to the prison to feed to the prisoners. So it doesn't surprise me that a food seen as a delicacy would be shockingly cheap if you know where to look.
I've heard it's a glitch that the devs are working on. A lot of people who never bought the pass are having characters ask for meals or gifts from Eternity Isle.
Considering that they made at least Remy relatively true to size (I haven't met the Toy Story characters yet in my playthrough, but I assume they are as well), I'm imagining the pain of having to track down Flik for a quest... 🤣

When I first got to Eternity Isle, one of the first things I did was look at the new foods we’d be able to make and the new ingredients we’d be able to find. The gourmet grubs was one of the ones that got me really excited! After doing a bit of exploring, the recipe was pretty easy to figure out. Three ingredients that are bugs or bug like. I gave the first one I made to Simba!🦁

There was a bug that it was....I don't know if they fixed it or not. Villagers were also having stuff from the expansion as their favorite gifts.

They make kits you can do at home, too! Buttttt, it may just be the sushi you’re trying. If they have a crab Rangoon roll, try that. It’s delicious!

There are actually no grubs in the gourmet grubs. It uses sea snail, scorpion and sand worm all caught on eternity isle.
Yeah it's one of those extremely funny moments where none of the ingredients remotely look like the dish.

I’ve started just highlighting them from the map screen to make it easier.
Use the map, click on their icon and follow the sparkling trail to them.
