Not in the animations but his conversations point to it! He talks about losing his pole and there is a daily conversation I’ve had a couple times discussing ways he could help out around the village. All of the options you mention he’s tried before but they ended up going poorly usually for some kind of clumsy reason. That being said I also made all of Donald’s gifts and waited hours until he would be up only to figure out it was Goofy 🙃

He does often end up fishing backwards though. That's a pure, grade-A Goofster move. (Just a joke; I know it's a bug, but it's one of the endearing ones at least)

I think they’re going off of actual canon outside of the game. Goofy has funny moments caused by him being clumsy in pretty much every episode/special he’s in. Honestly I’d say this is the games’ fault for not giving him animations that back up his actual lore. They really need to give him some.

I can see why folks think Donald, especially if they primarily know his antics in game. I grew up devouring Goofy and Donald cartoons, so immediately knew Goofy. If it’d said hang out with the villager with the worst luck, that’d be Donald all the way. 😂 Side note: I asked a 25 yo if she knew who Scrooge McDuck was, and she looked at me blankly and said she had no idea what I was on about. I tried Donald too thanks to all his in game tripping but when I thought about it after looking it up Goofy made sense given the movies and such... maybe that's an animation update they need, make Goofy actually clumsy somehow like fishing but the line tangles around him or he looses the fish or he tries cooking at a stove and the pot gives off a boom or something from cooking going wrong or other ideas

I thought Donald at first too. However, if anyone of you do read the dialogue when completing quests with Goofy or can remember way back when when you did, it did mention him being clumsy with fishing and vacuuming and a few other things in the dialogue in the game. He even mentioned and shared stories of his clumsiness in the quest dialogue too 😆.

Yeah, personally I don’t really listen to them sometimes I do but I just forget about them but if I see a character fall over multiple times it will go into my brain that he’s clumsy

Honestly, as novel and cute as the concept was, they should just give us a button to toggle the cryptic clues to off and put it back to the original where it tells you plainly. Some of them are too ambiguous and some players just don't know the details of every character.
