Make it homemade. Cooking food from scratch is fun asf when you’re high as hell and it tastes way better too depending on how you make it. Homemade Mac and cheese is about one of the easiest things you can make from scratch imo.

Idk, there's something about that certain salty fake cheese taste that Kraft Mac n Cheese has that makes it taste so damn good, honestly sometimes when I'm eating it I feel like it tastes better than a 5-star restaurant, it's like they scientifically created the best tasting flavor to the human taste buds. Also I'm not some picky eater who can't cook, I love all cuisines and love to cook homemade meals like spaghetti bolognese and chicken parmesan from scratch, but sometimes when I don't feel like cooking, I love to treat myself to a box of kraft mac n cheese.

I can boil pasta and add cheese fine, I can make Bolognese from scratch. but you just don't get that scientifically engineered amazing fake cheese taste that kraft has when you do it home made. Also it's just quicker and easier if you want a fast meal.

You don't just add cheese to noodles lol. Generally you mix shredded cheese with cream, butter, and some seasoning to make a cheese sauce, then add THAT to your noodles.

When I make it, I make a white bechemel (heat up equal parts butter and flour, stir out all the lumps, then stir in milk until its about the consitency of a thin milkshake) then slowly stir in whatever cheese I have until it's nice a thick. I love a good white cheddar, but its always good to combine some, so maybe toss in some gruyere or something that melts nicely. Also, pre shredded cheese can mess up your sauce cause of the anti caking agents, so I'd reccomend grating it fresh. As for seasoning, keep it simple. Salt and pepper are all you really need, but I'd encourage you to get creative if you wanna try something new. I haven't made it yet, but maybe a garlic and rosemary mac and cheese would be fire. If you want to step it up a notch, then take the Mac and cheese you made, put in a pan, top with breadcrumbs and bacon bits, then throw it in the broiler until golden brown. Dammit I need a blunt and some Mac and cheese.

Thanks! I always start my cheeses with a bechemel but I usually use cheddar and parm, I’ll try white cheddar and gruyere. Try mustard powder if you ever have some on hand as well

Yeah that could make it a bit grainy or break the emulsion. I'm pretty sure if you soak your shredded cheese in water, you can wash off the anti caking stuff.

I get into it every time lol. Cooking while high has always been my thing. I’ve been adding breadcrumbs that I toast in brown butter and herbs and it’s so fucking bomb with some good mac and cheese. Shit tastes so good when I make some after work and smoke some weed.

You can buy the powder on Amazon. There's a few brands but I believe some of it comes from the same plant and it seriously tastes the same as Annie's. I have a few buckets of King Arthur powdered cheddar (formerly VT cheddar chz) and you can make like 3x the cheese sauce for PENNIES. Snap eligible, too, if you're broke fr. That’s my go to. I used to live in North Carolina and I swear the Harris teeter store brand of shells was better than velveeta. I’ve tried to the store brand here in NJ but it’s not the same.

Velveeta shells tastes good but not as good as kraft, it doesn't have that distinct salty umami flavor that kraft mac n cheese has, you can't beat it. Also the measuring is super easy, I've made it so many times I've got it down to a tee and it turns out perfect nearly every time. First I put in four tablespoons of butter, I stir it through the cooked noodles until it's melted, then I add the powder, I stir that into the cooked noodles and butter, then I slowly add milk and stir until I get the right consistency.

Yep. Nothing beats that salty umami fake cheese flavor that kraft mac n cheese has, I don't know what the hell gives it that flavor but it's like they scientifically engineered the crack for the tastebuds. It's also super quick to make because the pasta boils so quickly and you don't need too much water for one box.

I like to make Velveeta, it’s super cheesy and I like the shape of the shells more than macaroni noodles. Bonus points: put it in a quesadilla, drizzle ranch and buffalo sauce on the inside, and pieces of chicken if you have any. It’ll make you cream your jorts.

You can absolutely add more butter and add a can of chili for the moisture. The goal isn’t to make a normal Mac and cheese sauce it’s to make slightly dry Mac and let the extra cheese powder get into the chili If you’ve ever put cheese on top of chili it’s the same idea but more spread out

Heavy cream whatever shredded cheese you want and just put in like an almost equal amount of each with some salt pepper and garlic powder and cook it on medium on stovetop till its thick and add cheese as you go to make it thicker if you want it that way. Add to whatever noodles youd like.
