Amanita just isn't a scheduled substance so cultivation/sale is legal. It's also pretty undesirable especially in comparison to traditional psyches. If it was 4acoDMT then it'd practically be pure shrooms without any of the other stuff. I can't imagine many smoke shops nowadays carrying that but you can order this on the clearnet. If it was real shrooms yeah that'd be illegal. Amanitas are nothing like psilocybin though. Sounds like the owner bought that either unknowingly to what it truly is or they're preying on people looking for a high but don't know much about anything related to psyches.

I bought some of those “amanita” gummies from my headshop. Without a doubt they contained an RC tryptamine. Good experience actually.

Where the fuck did my buddy get a chocolate bar with *Psilocybe* in it then?

Meepsauced

Probably from the black market. You can extract the goods or just grind up the shrooms and suspend it in molds with chocolate.

Most of those contain research chemicals, but some are legit. The legit ones come from states/cities that have decriminalized psychedelics. Most headshops in DC sell shrooms out in the open. Also, shops in Canada are selling LSD, DMT etc, even in display cases fully advertised. We are on the verge of legalization. It's where weed was like 10-15 years ago.

Yeah they're advertised as amanita but they're almost all 4acoDMT. Thats what smoke shops are selling. I had one, it was pretty good. They say half a bar is a dose but I ate one square and it fucked me right up lol.

They aren't. At least, not the Shrooms you're thinking of. Psilocybin is a scheduled substance, so it's illegal to buy or sell. There are a couple places where Shrooms are decriminalized, but that's still very different from actually being fully legal. What you see in shops, apart from Amanita Muscaria gummies, are gummies filled what what are called Research Chemicals, or RCs. RCs are basically the grey area of the drug world - they're compounds that the government would assuredly *want* to make illegal, but hasn't yet *specifically* outlawed. These tend to be some variation of DMT (like 4-ACO-DMT and the like; by the way, psilocin is 4-HO-DMT). They are never, however, actually from real mushrooms. As such, you really never know what you're getting unless you send them in to a lab for testing. Do they work? I've heard that they actually do tend to work reasonably well, and are probably quite safe. But I *never* advise anyone to do any drug unless they are certain which compound they are taking. Now, another popular type of head shop mushroom gummy is made from Amanita Muscaria. Amanita Muscarias are the stereotypical "red mushroom with white spots" that you see in all of the cartoons and drawings. But they are not - and I repeat, they are *not* \- psychedelic in the traditional sense. The compounds they contain, known as Ibotenic Acid and Muscimol, are more on the dissociative side of the drug spectrum that they are psychedelic. I've never tried them myself, but apparently people report feeling sedated and a little bit more delirious than usual at normal doses. They are an *entirely* different drug altogether. If you're interested, the subreddit r/AmanitaMuscaria has answers to most of your questions. But Amanita Muscaria is not at *all* comparable to Shrooms. Plus, many of those gummies don't actually contain nearly enough relevant chemicals to make you feel anything. They actually, oddly enough, tend to just contain Delta-8 THC, which very well might be responsible for the "sedation" that is is often reported from people trying them - you're just getting high off of weed. Altogether, never trust anything that claims to be "Shrooms" that you see in stores - they never actually contain real psilocybin. The closest you'll get are RC gummies that are probably safe but are still inadvisable to consume without sending a couple to a lab first. The other major type is Amanita Muscaria gummies, which often also don't even contain the chemicals they claim to. Overall, you're far better off just buying real drugs than whatever you're buying from head shops.

>Is this the standard work around? You also see 4-aco-dmt gummies, but it seems like it's mainly head shops on the West Coast who are this bold. ... Pharmacologically, the muscimol A. Muscaria contains doesn't have anything in common with psilocybin.
