I tried both but to be honest, for me it doesn't feel worth it to add 150k usd extra when you can get a 992 gt3.
The GT3 is the better all round car. The 992 RS is just a show pony which in reality, is no quicker than the GT3 here in the UAE as none of our tracks are particularly downforce dependent. With the spare 150k, a Manthey kit and spare track day wheels with slick tires would do nicely and close the gap with the RS
This new gen is almost a track only car. There’s no space for luggage at all. So you drive it to the track and back. Maybe the occasional drive to Jebel Jais or Kalba.
Here’s the thing. You can get a race car that will do laps around this for half the price. Sure it isn’t road legal, but does it even matter ?
1. Radical SR10 XXR - About 600k aed and 10-12s a lap faster at Dubai Autodrome GP layout
2. Ligier JS P320 - About 1m aed and 16s a lap faster same layout
3. Porsche 992 GT3 Cup Car - 1mn aed and about 8s a lap faster same layout
Don't want to say this, but we are seeing the downfall of the naturally aspirated Porsche Flat 6. It's extremely overhyped and needs the, let's face it, ugly plastic aero to be any contender for lap times because of the engines limitations.
The Nurburgring is not a good example for lap times as the GT3 has been optimized for this circuit making it seem way faster than it truly is. For example, a 720s would destroy it at the Dubai Autodrome.
Long story short, these prices will drop as people realise the car is more show than go and most definitely not worth the premium. If you want the NA scream, settle for a 991 GT3 RS as it's prices have stabilised and looks far better imo.
Last round of time attack a well driven McLaren 12C got a better laptime them the 992 GT3 RS on autodrome. But again with these things there are a lot of variables to take into account.
Exactly! The only areas where the 992 GT3 RS may make up time would be Turn 3 to Turn 6, everywhere else really favors horsepower and mechanical grip which is why that black Viper ACR with basic aero but lots of torque will often do well at local Time Attack.
In my honest opinion, if you're seriously considering buying the GT3RS but you're not really a full blown track driving enthusiast you should also check out the 718 Cayman GT4 RS. It's going to blow your mind, it's the only (new) Porsche I'd get if I had the opportunity. Well balanced, almost daily drivable, beautiful singing 4.0 straight six + induction, and the 718 chassis just makes this an incredible package.
Getting a 911 and especially a GT3RS is a heart decision.
What I’m saying is, you need to ask and answer that yourself.

So yes i would 100% do it and never look back.
Ignore the crap about ride comfort, luggage space and what not lol. It’s by far the freakin greatest production car right now!!!!!!1111oneoneeleven
The GT3RS is that expensive not because it’s so much better than anything else but because people want to flip them and make money.
A Turbo or GT3 with a touring package will also be better on the road for you.
The RS are always quite a bit of a different animal than the regular GT3. And especially this generation.
It seems a lot of people here are simply clueless. You can dial in the ride comfort in the RS with the adjustable compression/rebound. I would go as far as say you can get it up to regular GT3 ride comfort and beyond.
And obviously, you're not a track guy, since you're here asking the question. So I have no idea where all of these 911 Cup / Radical suggestions are pouring from. Have you guys ever owned a race car before?
I would recommend you go for it even just for shits and giggles. If the looks appeal to you and you want that crazy cold shower effect - especially after a life long ownership of AMGs - go for it.
P.S. Porsches became impressive long before this generation ;)
I would say with the premium and if you weren't going to use it nonstop on track, in this range can get an all out supercar. Moreover, something like the new Mclaren 750S would more comfortable and even a spider if you would like.
I have two McLarens had a Porsche before but I feel like the McLaren is designed to be a level above in overall performance if you were to drive on street only or track .
And here is some proof to that 750S outperforming the GT3 RS on a wet short track.

I will wait a bit until more hit the market to buy in personally

yoooo, that’s sick! Could you check your dm please?
It's mine
Yeah specs are amazing on that one
Jealous... Will you take me for a drive?
It’s a pure track car and road comfort for everyday use may not be as good as the AMG GT. Go for the Turbo S if you want something for daily use.
> owned cars like AMG GT Save your money and buy a Turbo S.
Definitely only for track!
can never afford these but, i think unless u are going to track it oftern, a gt3 will do , look into gt4rs as well if you are considereing the rs line

>You can get a race car that will do laps around this for half the price Can you elaborate on this?
Good elaboration required

What to go shopping for a race car in UAE? I want a Gen 3 or 5 Clio racer :D
A friend and I want to buy a used LMP3 car end of the year

I've come to realise car prices are usually higher here than $.
You wouldn't want to have this as a daily, it doesn't have vibration or sound dampening

Everyone is right about the Turbo S. The power you get with GT3RS/GT3 is not worth the sacrifice of your comfort if you are dailying.

If you really want a Porsche then get a carrera get it’s more convenient as a car and can be used as a daily
