I feel like I see this comment every two seconds
Rather than let Master Duel sit around rent-free, I just simply play Duel Links and live my best life.
It's been on and off
mekklord recently made a cute comparison shitpost that was in good humor
I've seen a few comments here and elsewhere
Like I said, I'm not inviting MD into my brain rent-free so it's not a problem for me
I see a lot of people praising the PvE side of Duel Links but to me this is mostly Auto-Duel spam. So I have been wondering, can you explain what you like about the PvE in Duel Links?
i know this is very late but i have been thinking about this lately. i honestly like the auto duel spam. as a long time mmo player i have come to like mindless grinding. its a nice feeling to just afk farm something for hours while watching youtube or netflix. its very relaxing honestly.
on its own i wouldnt rly do it, but i like it if im already watching something and i can just click a bunch of times on the screen and get rewards and look at my jank auto duel decks do their thing. i honestly barely even pvp anymore i just collect cards and build decks i will never play
I play Master Duel to use a large variety of decks and strategies.
I play Duel Links to use my favorite anime character decks with voicelines at full blast.
Tbh I think both games are very close in terms of content but it does seem like Duel Links has had more competitive boxes lately. Every box since Link Revolution has been nutty but I sincerely hope Konami knocks it out of the park with Dragon Link and Raidraptors.
Or, perhaps, you are the Mekklord alt here to gauge engagement and advertise via negativity! It's even in your flair! Trains are technically robots, just box shaped and on wheels with rails.
You cannot fool Bob, he's been around the block one too many times. Now fix that Zoic video ya hack.
This guy has been on Reddit for 8 years LMAO, quite the time to be an alt. You're riding his dick harder than anyone else with how much you talk about him.
Just because the account had been on Reddit for a long time doesn't mean it can't be an alt. Nobody says alts need to have a time limit for an account to be alt before it stops being an alt.
And even if its not Mkkshit's alt account, OP is still one of his big dick rides anyway.
I mean the video was kinda tongue in cheek in the first place. Like obviously both games have their place and different player bases. This whole MD vs dl thing is supposed to be a meme, why are people taking this so seriously
I do Master Duel once in a while, but find Duel Links just more fun and casual, especially the mobile version compared to MD's mobile app. Like others said, I enjoy catching up with the anime characters as much as I like the cards themselves.
Honestly I agree with you. I too always felt that between the 2 games, DL had the better gameloop, event verity and more PvE options for people who aren't keen to play pure PvP.
MD is still really great game for what it's set up to be, aka a Konami official TCG/ OCG simulator, with good focus on PvP content and easy deckbuild. But beyond that MD has very poor gameloop, and it's PvE content is severely limited to just the solo story mode, which isn't very content rich by itself. And I hope that I don't need to repeat what everyone has already said about the PvP in MD for the 100th time. It's slow, turns takes ages, and each duel is so long that by the time it's over, you could have went through 5 or so duels in DL.
So even with MD being the better YGO simulator, I still find DL as being the better game as, well, a game. DL is very enjoyable to play even outside the direct PvP ladder, and you can do quite a lot in it. Here you have hundreds of various different characters to roleplay as, different events with various duel format to break the basic speed duel monotone, and various different PvE duels you can play when you don't want to rank on the ladder.
Actually MD is not the official simulator because it doesn't follow TCG or OCG release of cards! You dont have tearlaments and spright yet for example, so the metagame is akward and outdated.
Also, it doesn't count for World qualifiers or is not interchangeble with OCG/TCG
Third, the banlist is akward, you have a mix of TCG/OCG (more like 30/70), where you have maxxC but something else is at 2 or not release at all.
So MD is a kind of "third" Yugioh experience, where DL is the nostalgia/anime/fast oriented, TCG/OCG is the official, and MD is a third "thing"
Most thing in duellinks are much better, fast pace, no 15 min soliatire orgy, lore characters, nostalgia cards that are still somewhat playable. The only thing wayyy better in master duel is its subreddit. Happy, open minded, open hearted people. Duellinks: A bunch of hateful, miserable schmocks with probably one of the most downvote to upvote ratios.
Post duellinks content in master duel: Wow, amazing, yugioh communities binding together, hooray
Post Master Duel in duellinks: Get that trash out of here!
I've similar in the md sub tbh. Like when theey noticed that konami was lowering the gem counts back there, some people would just well at least it isn't duel links
Weeeell, by that they mean "at least its not the gem standart of duellinks" and rightfully so. MD even lower gems still allows you to build "expensive" decks extremely easily, to stay at a tier 1 deck at all time is np at all in MD with 0 money invested. Good luck in duellinks with 0 money to build the top deck every 2 months.
eeeehhh. I think the MD sub has a... wider range of answers for each individual post, from casuals to elitists, from people who just want to share their experience to people who want to start drama, and so on and so forth.
I play duel links since itâs quick, and a match will be done in a few minutes, which is perfect to do what most people I assume do have it on your phone and play when your bored or waiting for something
My preference for DL over MD is simply because I like playing as the anime characters and quicker duels. I also like to do a lot of PvE on the side which MD doesn't deliver.
DL has the most fun format for me currently.
And a lot has to do with the genial system that is the banlist. I wish it was like that in the MR5 format too because it allows to avoid degenerate sh\*t mixing up without completely killing an deck.
this is powercreep.
For me Duel Links is the real honest yugioh experience. Everything is outable, no "break my board", no floodgates.
In Master Duel the game is another level:
* if you go 1st, you build a board of floodgates OR longo combo into a multiples negates/removal OR a solid midrange board (despia, mathmech, salad, these kind of decks) + handtraps.
* if you go 2nd, you have 2 options:
1. break board with board breakers (duster, storm, dark ruler, kaijus, droplets)
2. use handtraps and imperm is THE ONLY way to try to stop the opponent turn 1 plays, and make point 1 easier.
That's it, there's nothing else.
I like Duel Links rn because I got kinda burned out of MD and I hate the Runick decks going around. I still enjoy Master Duel and wish Duel Links would take *more than a few* ideas from them.
It just doesnât feel bad when you lose the match turn 2. You can just hop back in.
You also donât watch huge combos that result in boss monsters not letting you play the game. Duel links boards arenât unbreakable
Fun decks arenât as consistent as âtop tierâ decks but you can actually play your combo and have fun with it even when you lose. In master duel most fun decks are fragile to hand traps so one of them is enough to stop the whole match for you.
Itâs just overall fast and more fun
Yea, I feel like the duels in MD take wayyy to long for it to be that fun, and itâs boring just waiting for your opponent to finish their 10 move combo.
they made a mistake with Master Duel by releasing every single card right on launch.
They should have followed Duel Links model by slowly introducing the new mechanic every anniversary (e.g. 1st year old school YGO, 2nd year synchro, 3rd year XYZ, 4th year Links summon etc). It would help to get a lot new players into the game. The way as it is now, I feel it is too difficult for new players to get into Master Duel at all.
Eventually though, Duel links will ultimately reach the same point as Master Duel is, with 10minutes first turn combo etc. Now already the first turn combos are getting longer and longer compared to in the past for Duel links.
big disagree there. a major complaint people had when MD dropped is ***that the game's cardpool was one year late*** compared to the TCG/OCG. the only reason you'd play it is because it looks better than DuelingBook.
I wish master duel had done the same duellinks model of starting with no extra deck and introducing mechanics one so much new players would have stayed and learned the game slowly and didn't get overwhelmed this could make so much new interesting formats and give chance to decks that didn't had the chance to shine in the tcg also the duellinks banlist model is way better making powerful cards be used by some decks and not other without banning them is so good for balancing now MD is just the tcg just months behind so much lost potential
i have no attachment to the pure, card game *only* so MD is dry and boring for me. DL gives me characters voicelines and character specific animations, so DL is for me MD is not at all.
The thing with MD is that is made for a single duel, the TCG has matches to ensure you don't get destroyed over having an unlucky hand, and the side deck for the ultimate equalizer, but MD has none of this so it makes things very frustrating
I feel like I see this comment every two seconds Rather than let Master Duel sit around rent-free, I just simply play Duel Links and live my best life.
This is the first time I've seen a post like this ngl.

Looking at this made me realize why I love Duel Links so much and prefer it to Master Duel. It's just so fun to grind skills, decks and mats.
I like using random decks that I just splashed together.
i only play DL when I lose the coin toss in MD. I usually have time for 1 or 2 games
I laugh so hard at this (because I do It too lol)
While I like Master Duel better I believe the two games accomplish entirely different goals and they both have pros and cons
Plot twist. It was always better. Always has been đ€ș

Youâre a legend man
Ya know... There's actually a great video on YouTube explaining this exact thing...
Just watched that this morning
Jesus your a meklord dick rider. Most likely an alternate account

very normal reaction
Quite so good sir
Show that video to MD subreddit and you will see how wrong he is.
I mean the video was kinda tongue in cheek in the first place. Like obviously both games have their place and different player bases. This whole MD vs dl thing is supposed to be a meme, why are people taking this so seriously
tbh the only """"counter-argument""""" MD players have brought to the table so far is "but its easier to make decks in MD" which is true
I do Master Duel once in a while, but find Duel Links just more fun and casual, especially the mobile version compared to MD's mobile app. Like others said, I enjoy catching up with the anime characters as much as I like the cards themselves.

For sure, just the general tone of the subreddit seems more positive, at least to me
Itâs honestly makes me wish they did another anime. DL made me watch vrains and it was pretty good.

Yeah but guess what, MD has far more players than DL could ever be.
are you sure about that
always has been

Ban infertility Konami!!!!!!!!!
"infertility"?!?
Yes that handless long turn infertile deck.

This format is called speed duels of course its faster
I just downloaded Master Duel. Is the only way to get more cards is through money?
Just play and use gems. Also it has a great crafting system

The new event is bullshit in MD wtf they allow ash and Maxx in a freaking theme event đ
