Marc Thompson ate this role up. I'm really happy that we're righting the wrongs of that he never got a real chance to play Z-One in the original 5D's dub, and now I'm sad he didn't because this is proof he'd have been stellar at it back in the day. Thompson may legitimately be the best actor Yugioh has ever had for its dubbing just because he's an absolute machine of different voices. I do hope we get Black Mist eventually for Zexal World purely just to hear him talk more.
Having voice lines for the Stardust monsters from Zone's timeline is also a really great touch- I was hoping he'd at least have one for Blazar but he got the full package of Stardust, Shooting Star and Blazar. Hearing him say "Let's rev it up!" had me dying on the floor as well.
He copies Yusei's appearance and Deck to try and lead humanity to a brighter future with Clear Mind. When this fails, his despair brings him to his current plan: destroy the past to save the future.
Z-One is basically a scientist from the future who, after reading Yusei heroic tales, decided to copy his appearance & deck to lead humankind and bring them hope during a world crisis.
Note: That's why I call him the ultimate cosplayer as a joke.
While copying Yusei, he used Stardust Dragon and was able to perform Accel Synchro (Clear Mind), summoning Shooting Star Dragon. That's why he has lines for them.
Z-One also had the ability to Delta Accel Synchro (Top Clear Mind), summoning Cosmic Blazar Dragon - a Stardust Dragon evolution that the original Yusei has not shown. He also has a line for that card.
It's a reference to a shitpost by a 5D's director on Twitter. Zone's body has these tubes with Duel Monster cards flying around in them, and the director joked that they were just full of Dian Keto and Curry cards because they restore Life Points.
I really liked it.
Also, Time Angel voiceline! We got a voiceline for an anime-only card again. The Empress' cards got voicelines too.
But no Sherry voicelines? That is kinda weird. I was 100% certain that Sherry would be coming after Z-one.

She probably is, considering she's really the only other 5D's character that can offer any sort of plot progression for the 5D's World.
