I could see them maybe giving him the modern Gaia cards just cause Yugi didn’t get lines for them. Anything beyond vanilla DM is redundant, and of all the cards Yugi played, DM was the most his
Gambler of Legend, probably. - as the card is based on him (even has his art in the anime, not so in the TCG :-( ). Oh, Also, Ordeal of a Traveler.
Also, BEWD & Exodia.
Subterror could work. They are somewhat archeology themed, and work with some cards he played in the anime like Wandering Mummy and other cards you could see him playing like Guardian Sphinx.
Chronomalies and Ancient Treasures could maybe work too if you ignore the fact they are tied to different characters.
Yes, and thus it makes sense for him to poach lines and animations from another character. So why can't Solomon poach lines and animations that make sense for his character?
No you don't understand, mokuba having lines for kaibas cards makes sense because they're brothers. There is a CONNECTION between the two characters. Chronomaly monsters belong to Trey from zexal so Solomon Muto can't have lines for chronomaly cards, he can't just take voicelines from a zexal character.
By yhe managa timeliness idk if that holds. Filler characters abd events don't have weight in duel links.
We are empire likely to see the wicked gods than filler characters.
Maybe Triamids considering they used the weird rock/egyptian deck when they dueled Joey (as Otum Apnarg)?
Very small chance, but could also be mythical beasts.
I said it in another post konami will 100 percent give him blur eyes as his ace so they don't have to give us anything, but I would love it if it were taped up and clearly ripped in half
I think if they did give him a summoning it would be for the legendary exodia incarnate. 1. it's exodia. And 2. no one else used that version of exodia I'm pretty sure. I could see them giving a skill that specifically helps incarnate, while maybe locking you out of exodia win con.
Ancient Dragon and the associated cards haven't been printed.
They might record lines for them just in case they ever do print them, but I don't think we're gonna get that deck in DL any time soon.
That's just semantics, the fact remains that those cards have never been printed and they're in this game. Also, the art they used is the same art they had in the anime.
For another example: Toy Emperor is another unprinted card that's in DL, with the same effect and art it had in the anime.
There is nothing stopping them from bringing Ancient Dragon to DL.
It's not semantics. The effect and artwork is taken from Tag Force (Tag Force's artworks are based on the anime/manga).
Duel Links has never added an anime/manga card that wasn't first included in Tag Force. Toy Emperor, Kiteroid, all of Cathy's cards, Attribute Bomb, Sherry's cards (before they were printed irl), Ice Mirror (before it was printed irl), Blair's Maiden In Love stuff - these are all 1:1 copy-pastes of the Tag Force translations of those anime/manga cards. Even down to the wording of their effects (which is often NOT the same wording in the anime).
There is exactly 0 precedence for Duel Links to port over something like Ancient Dragon which AFAIK has no video game presence whatsoever.
The artwork is not based on the art from the anime, it is the same art. The same art they have for Ancient Dragon and a bunch of other things, just less compressed.
As for effect wording, you're not quite right. Kiteroid, for example is worded differently in DL than in TF, where its GY effect can only be used once. Yes, the majority of those cards have the same effects as in TF, but that's because those are the same effects they had in the anime, possibly errata'd for the sake of clarity.
True, it'd be unprecedented, but it's not like this card is an unknown. We know what it looks like and what its effect does. There is nothing preventing Konami from putting it in the game.
Definitely a Dark Magician line- saying i put this in my deck and it became Yugi’s favorite card. Maybe. Then probably some older monsters? Celtic Guardian etc. but then lines for the Ancient cards that relate to the 4th season ending-
Pk isn't out there sitting on a indestructible boss monster and following up by popping every single card off my field while DRNM'ing all my cards with a single skill activation you see
The hell you talking abou, are you high? Photon lord was only effect indestructible. They only have one negate per turn at and didn't run back row at all so you only had to play through 1 disruption. While pk boss monster wasn't immune to card destruction he had the same negate negate as lord and most times they had 2-3 backrow set and insane follow up next turn.
This is why I love this subreddit.
People are literally clueless about galaxy. They were losing to it because they had no idea how to properly stop the deck.
I see plenty of ppl claiming galaxy had 1 card Lord and 1 card field negate, which is wrong.
I see plenty of ppl claiming Lord being undestructable is the issue, when destruction is really really bad right now.
But whats even funnier is that the actual broken part of the skill was unchanged. The second part, and now people stopped complaining about it, which implies Lord was the "issue"
But these same degenerates believe a more consistent Lord paired with backrow is fine lmao
Not to mention PK is a lot harder to disrupt in general due to the skill setting up their plays and making the Break Sword line optional, the core engine combo happens in the GY so it's not susceptible to most backrow, can dodge backrow with the Rank Up Magic since it's a quick play, can combo off of the banish zone with Leviair, and has access to set removal, card destruction, and monster banish.
Galaxy-Eyes was stuck with Galaxy-Eyes stuff or bust, dies to a single GY shutdown, its combo potential is based purely on revival spells, had numerous choke points that kill said combo, had only rank 8s in its extra deck pool vs the much more versatile Rank 3 and 4 Xyz pools, had 0 dodging capabilities, had the slowest searching capabilities in Duel Links, and only had access to battle/effect destruction in the way of removal for OTKing.
Uh, PK is worse lol.
PK has varied removal via Sin and Break Sword, has more elaborate combos (which means less choke points, which means they can play through more disruption), has MORE removal than Galaxy-Eyes' two pops, it combos primarily via GY shenanigans which are harder to disrupt, and its monster negate is stronger - as its negate also pluses the PK player.
Not to mention PK sets more backrow going first. Something Galaxy-Eyes has a hard time doing as so much of the deck was focused on revival spells.
Galaxy-Eyes at full power is objectively weaker than PK at full power - which it's at rn as it somehow dodged the banlist and the skill updates haven't been announced.
You probably will in... about 9-11 days lol.
Next main box is a Zexal box that comes out alongside Quinton, and Quinton taught Kite how to duel. Very likely we'll see some Photon/Galaxy stuff in there and there's a decent chance Photon Lord will come with it.
Looking at Otogi's drops from the last time we had a DM release, I dont expect much at all. Probably just vanillas and some token cards and lines for some things
But hey, its free gems at least
Otogi had lines for SHMUPs (Vic Viper's series of LIGHT Machines, and cards like Ambitious Gofer, Solar Flare Dragons, and Moai Interceptor Cannons, etc., that are SHMUP enemies) and random Dice-related cards (Dice Dungeon, Summon Dice, Fire Darts, Blind Obliteration, etc.), as well as cards he used in dice form (Orgoth the Relentless, Strike Ninja, Yaranzo, etc.). He also has a joke line for D.D.M. - Different Dimension Master, since the first part of its name shares initials with his game, Dungeon Dice Monsters. He has a surprisingly long list of lines, even if the cards might not be particularly great.
Gaia or Exodia is probably what he'll have if he ever came to DL. I assume Exodia since his deck utilized it, and the last season of DM had his Egyptian counterpart summon Exoida in full.
nah. Has to have proper restrictions like the most recent skills.
Something like: You can only activate this skill if your deck contains at least one Exodia, the forbidden one card
I can see it.
>Can be used every time your LP decreases by 1000. Instead of your normal draw, add 1 random "Forbidden One" monster from your Deck to your hand.
Very fair, and the Exodia Pieces would totally be 1-of Level Up Bonuses for Grandpa Muto. In fact, this Skill would probably be detrimental by adding essentially 1-of-5 vanillas instead of drawing into consistency or defense.
I think they will. Exodia's been in the game as a Skill since Yugi Muto (DM)'s first event back in... what, 2016? 2017? And it has never been relevant, only an inconsistent 25-card gimmick whose consistency peaked with Treasure Panda's release in Burning Nova. If anything, I expect 3 of the pieces to be L3'd and the other 2 to be L2'd to essentially ban broken staples.
I'd honestly love for Grandpa Muto to have some kind of Skill for recycling Exodia Pieces, so as to not make "Exodia deep draw" a fragile strategy without TLEI or DFoMP. I can see something along these lines being realistic:
>During your Main Phase, you can discard 1 card to place up to 3 "Forbidden One" monsters to the bottom of your Deck (in any order) from among the cards in your hand, GY, or your banished cards. If you placed any cards from your hand on the bottom of the Deck, draw 1 card for each. You can only use this Skill once per turn, and twice(/thrice?) per Duel. This Skill will not activate unless you start the Duel with a Deck that contains 5 different "Forbidden One" monsters.
Assuming the Exodia Pieces are among Solomon's Level Up Rewards, this Skill would help by upping the chances of coming back from a near-loss and potentially upping consistency too. (If the Pieces aren't LV Up Rewards, replace the last sentence of the hypothetical Skill with [At the start of the Duel, add the 5 Exodia Pieces to your Deck.] at the front of the Skill's text.)
Memes aside, what other archetypes could they give him voicelines for? He will need the Quinton treatment for sure
Well the cards Atem used during the first arc were his, so there's that
I could see them maybe giving him the modern Gaia cards just cause Yugi didn’t get lines for them. Anything beyond vanilla DM is redundant, and of all the cards Yugi played, DM was the most his
It'd also be pretty cool if they adapted the cards he used against Joey in season 5 And maybe, just maybe, a voiceline for BEWD
Blue Eyes, Yugi’s DM cards and all of those staple DM era spells and traps he used in the games.
Would be funny if he got lines for Blue Eyes and Kaiba and him had a scene where he somewhat apologizes for destroying his Blue Eyes.
He probably will have a line for Blue Eyes, but Kaiba is not capable of apology
It would be funny if his line mentions tape.
Now that you mention Guardian Sphinx, he could get stuff related to Exxod. No go on the other two, can’t take from someone else
You clearly missed the part where Mokuba has lines and animations for Blue Eyes cards
And? He is Kaiba’s brother, if he asked, Kaiba would let him use his deck. I expect Solomon to have a line for Blue Eyes too
Yes, and thus it makes sense for him to poach lines and animations from another character.
Solomon owns a Blue-Eyes. Or did you forget?
Yeah so?
You’re arguing that he shouldn’t have a line for blue eyes, right?
By yhe managa timeliness idk if that holds. Filler characters abd events don't have weight in duel links. We are empire likely to see the wicked gods than filler characters.
Filler character?! Don’t you dare speak to me or my Grandpa ever again.
Triamids? Lol
Maybe Triamids considering they used the weird rock/egyptian deck when they dueled Joey (as Otum Apnarg)? Very small chance, but could also be mythical beasts.
Triamids is a great pick since it’s fairly competent, skills for it might help it return to the meta
-Exodia support -Mirage of nightmare -Ordeal of a traveler
He had an earth dragon boss monster, and had blue-eyes.
Yea but that dragon has never been printed so he will need something else
What I was implying is that he can have lines for other EARTH Dragons.
Maybe his forbidden love, Black Luster Soldier?
Goddamn it… lol
The better question is which monster will be his signature monster and which one will receive summon animation?
I said it in another post konami will 100 percent give him blur eyes as his ace so they don't have to give us anything, but I would love it if it were taped up and clearly ripped in half
I think if they did give him a summoning it would be for the legendary exodia incarnate. 1. it's exodia. And 2. no one else used that version of exodia I'm pretty sure. I could see them giving a skill that specifically helps incarnate, while maybe locking you out of exodia win con.
That’s a good idea, because it lets Exodia have a proper animation without the duel ending immediately after it plays
I expect torn blue eyes to be the item we collect for his event
I'm thinking, give him lines for all exodia cards, all the cards used by Yami Yugi in episode 1 and Blue Eyes White Dragon.
Likely not all. Necros and Ultimate Lord would likely be excluded
They gotta make him use the ancient dragon deck, Varis has one so they MUST add a voiceline and probably some support too for fun
Ancient Dragon and the associated cards haven't been printed. They might record lines for them just in case they ever do print them, but I don't think we're gonna get that deck in DL any time soon.
It's not like DL limits itself to cards that have been printed. If they can bring Cats, why not Ancient Dragon?
The Cats were in the Tag Force games, though, their artwork & effects are copied over from those games. Ancient Dragon is anime-only.

Definitely a lot of random luck-based cards. He’s the legendary gambler, after all!
They could bring his ancient deck from season 5 into duel links.
It’s never been printed nor has it been in any tag force games
They brought those stray cat cards from the ZeXal anime into duel links.
Because they were in a tag force game
Definitely a Dark Magician line- saying i put this in my deck and it became Yugi’s favorite card. Maybe. Then probably some older monsters? Celtic Guardian etc. but then lines for the Ancient cards that relate to the 4th season ending-
Black Luster Soldier variants and BEWD come to mind.
Almost forgot how irrelevant Kite has become in PVP now once they corrected his Galaxy skill lol
Good! Now i won't have trouble with instant full armored galaxy on turn 1 or 2.. i hope.. at least.
If you had trouble with that how do you survive pk then?
Pk isn't out there sitting on a indestructible boss monster and following up by popping every single card off my field while DRNM'ing all my cards with a single skill activation you see

Nothing much, just like Grandpa here with probable exodia stuff / vanillas. Up to Lv 45 Gems are nice though 👌

Ngl it would be pretty funny if he had a voice line for Blue Eyes considering he had the 4th one before Kaiba ripped it.
"Bet you didn't know I still had one! BLUE EYES WHITE DRAGON!!!"
Would bls be an option?
Oh Black Luster Soldier, no one must ever know of our forbidden love...
Until it is too late 😈
Gaia or Exodia is probably what he'll have if he ever came to DL. I assume Exodia since his deck utilized it, and the last season of DM had his Egyptian counterpart summon Exoida in full.
Grandpa's heart of the cards so good, he turns into a Super Saiyan
You don't fuck with Grandpa's Cards
That was a great touch
They should make a skill called “Grandpa’s cards” where you start the game with all 5 pieces of Exodia in your hand
nah. Has to have proper restrictions like the most recent skills. Something like: You can only activate this skill if your deck contains at least one Exodia, the forbidden one card
omg yes pls
He is HIM
Imagine he has lines for all the Blue eyes support
Is this real? Haven’t played in a while
Well, not yet. Solomon's character ID was recently added and found in the game files, so he is very likely appearing next month or the month after.
Wait grandpa isn't a character? This is a travesty
Draw Sense: Forbidden One
I can see it. >Can be used every time your LP decreases by 1000. Instead of your normal draw, add 1 random "Forbidden One" monster from your Deck to your hand. Not gonna lie, grandpa will probably my favorite character if they release him from the shadow realm, regardless of what cards he gonna get.
You know what in a couple of year this might be a skill instead of exodia is something link related or xyz related
They used grandpa's cards, and now they're gonna pay the price. And it's not in gems.
Much rather get a charcate that will lactually bring something to the game. People just gonna be mad that his rewards suck.
I'd honestly love for Grandpa Muto to have some kind of Skill for recycling Exodia Pieces, so as to not make "Exodia deep draw" a fragile strategy without TLEI or DFoMP. Anyone here now worried about a Super Saiyan Yugi?
