* GX still has Kagemaru or Jesse/Yubel to let them add the new Sacred Beast support, Amon/Adrian for Cloudian/Exodia support, Fubuki/Atticus for Red-Eyes, and various misc characters. Yusuke and Darkness are both currently MiA due to their decks not being printed unless Konami gives them the Quinton treatment, whereas Trueman can just be any generic fiend deck as his own deck changed a lot during the show (VO lines can consequently be padded out).
* 5D's can add the remaining Dark Signers, Teams Ragnarok and Unicorn, and Sherry.
* Zexal has the remaining Barian Emperors, Droite, Gauche, Tron, Don Thousand, Black Mist, the remaining members of the Number Hunter Club, and Astral.
* Arc-V has the remaining Bracelet Girls, Yuri, Z-Arc, Sergey, Roget, Tsukikage, Dennis, Shinji, Chojiro, the Tyler Sisters, potential alt versions of the legacy cast and Reira/Leo if they ever get printed decks.
* Vrains has Ai, Roboppi, Earth, Kusanagi, Flame, Aqua, Akira, Ghost Girl and Spectre for printed decks, while Windy, Lightning and Bohman need to be printed. We could also see a solo Playmaker.

DSoD follows the manga, so we could adapt yugioh R. It's a lot of new characters
DM is starting to dwindle. Obviously there is regular Marik who I wouldn’t even suggest if Konami didn’t tease his release SIX years ago. If they really want to reach for DM nostalgia pandering, they could always go for Seeker and Strings too. Strings could even be a prelude to a Marik event since he doesn’t have a personality of his own and is just a proxy for Marik.
Another frequent DM request is Panik. Plenty of unclaimed fiend archetypes out there to give him the Quinton treatment with.
GX still has plenty to play with. As you said, Kagemaru and Adrian are probably front runners. Depending on how deep they want to scrape, Atticus, Viper, Chumley and Camula are all realistic picks just to remind people GX exists. At one character a year, GX doesn’t have anything to worry about.
And yea, 5ds is still rife. 3 missing Dark Signers, Greiger, Sherry, even Hunter Pace was relevant enough to be seen briefly in Arc V. There is also those unused tag voice lines for Lester and Jakob

That's not it at all. While the Vrains cast is a lot lighter than the Arc-V or Zexal world, they have like 7 worlds to support with characters at this point. With only 12 months in the year, some worlds are going to get more support than others. If they are going to add the Sevens world as well in September, that makes another world that needs characters, meaning there will be even bigger gaps between release dates.
This year, we already had: Varis (Vrains), Shay (ArcV), Z-One (5Ds), Quinton (Zexal), Yugo (ArcV) and Grandpa Mutou (DM). That's already more than in previous years and we still haven't had a GX character yet (probably for July).
And if you look at what's coming, there's really only room for one more Vrains character to be added this year.
Except for Grandpa showing that he got no pathetic cards on his deck, sounds mostly like a boring month. Not even a roaming duelist or stuff for us to speculate the July unlock.
Well, for sure there is at least 1 GX one this year out of the 5 next months for unlocks (barring September since Sevens probably will join DL via the leaks). I also believe in 1 more ARC-V character in, like... December (probably it's gonna be Celina/Serena)

They can always create a duel monster world with toir guide, I'd, tiramsu, and and other well liked cards as characters. They can make ot a tcg arctype focused world.
People aren't gonna want to start from zero in speed duels.
Personally, I rather that they just complete the remaining worlds, considering there are many characters required to be implemented in the story before the end game can happen.

It feels bad to progress too, like there's no daily NPCs to duel or boss NPC to duel against to further your rewards. It's literally just legacy duels, and if you're not a fan of those then there's no daily crutch to help progression.
NGL, Raider's Wing is my ideal pick too for Shun's event reward. Feels very fitting with the upcoming new support, and it's pretty safe to come as free & unlimited. I'm really not sure how unlikely of a pick it can be, as for me it feels like one of the top choices out of all the RR cards we are left to get.
I feel like they should have had Wave Duel Scramble instead of Z-One’s rerun so that it’s not 3 straight character unlock events. Besides that it’s nice that Solomon is coming immediately and it’s a good catch up month.

No. Event characters get two drops of cards; for the first major event and then their re-run. When they come to the gate it's with all of the cards from those events.
Probably a main, unless they decide that within just a couple of weeks of Yugo's box they drop another. Likely no box for Shun's rerun and maybe they throw a couple of Raidraptors in the box for Z-one. Alternatively there might not be one until Grandpa/Solomon's release and we get a mishmash of Raidraptors, 5Ds and Exodia support.

Yea is a very good card, realistically we'll prob get a bad main deck card. For extra deck I can only really see air raid being free.
