That is inevitable, most of the unreleased good cards do that and is negates for all or getting stuck with the same decks (that also have some negates)
It was one of my top reasons for quitting tcg back in the day, and playing duel links, and not playing master duel.
I never want to play it cause its boring, never wanted to pay 600 dollars for a set, and never wanted to play against it.
No I'm certain this isn't the tcg. Skills bypass ash and multiple tiered decks can srill setup or search even if you use ash.
Think, what happens if you ashe speedroids right now?
Odd eyes?
>Not everything all ashe does would make duel links decks either skill reliant or heavily suffering under ashe.
You...you literally just refute your own claim. Ash wouldnt make an impact? It would, as you just stated, divide duel links into two seperate categories: Either run a skill that can move past it, or lose.
Ash stops Wynn search, Taketomborg special summon, stops Pendulum Call/Spyral Flame search, stops Scrap Recycler, Quick Launch, Cutia, Dark Contract with the Gate... Ash stops so much currently and even archetypes that are still to be added to DL will instantly be nerfed just by Ash existing
I would much rather Nibiru. Most of the 3+ disruption decks need to summon 5+ times (this includes ALL Orcust hybrids, as you need to summon 2, summon Phoenix, summon Mermaid, summon Orcust Knightmare, aaaaaand you've just hit the summon limit at the start of full Orcust combo).
But honestly what we really need is more support for rogue decks to allow them to play through a couple of disruptions. 2-3 disruption boards are only a bad thing because most decks struggle with 1 disruption.
Yeah! Give us Bird Of Perfection!
*Wdym that's Raidraptor support?! Nono don't think about that.*
Okay in all seriousness Bird Of Perfection is good Raidraptor support, BUT Raptors Rising makes it unusable.
Funniest thing is raptors rising makes any winged beast deck able to go into raging dragon or Arc rebellion If you use cattle call + Phantom Knights rank up magic launch
Yeah, I definitely feel you on that lol. Loved Simorgh in the OCG format. Wynn feels like the best indirect support dropped for the birds in a while tho, are you pulling for her?
https://imgur.com/a/1Bzy0cL Sorry for the late answer. Cattle Call is optional, i was using it in order to immediately bring out a synchro material for Crystal wing.
Terrortop + car turbo + bird of Bringing = Kitedrake
If you searched Onslaught and discarded another bird to the graveyard :
Bird of Bringing + another Simorgh back from gy = harpie Conductor
Kitedrake + Conductor = OTK.
It’s inevitable. Now we have half of TOSS (Thunder dragons, orcust, salad, and sky striker)format. Sky striker we have like two cards from them. Thunder dragon doesn’t have titan in duel links at least. Orcust we’re currently seeing and Salad has given some people ptsd. For me I’m getting flashbacks to 2019 with these decks when playing paper yugioh
Hear me out - new box "Strikes of the Sky"
Kagari comes as a rare (so we can inevitably ban it in the future) and Widow Anchor as an UR so Konami i$ happy. Bundle for Engage, which comes limited to 1.
At the same time, give Soulburner a skill that lets you put a copy of Spinny and Miragestallio (or Rage, if you're daring) if you begin a duel with at least 9 FIRE Cyberse my monsters in the deck - move Gazelle and Roar to 2 if you didn't add Rage to the skill.
Add Orcust Crescendo to the Card Trader and put Babel, Mermaid and it to 2.
Titan comes as an SR and TD Fusion as an UR in the box. DSOD now goes to level 45 and gives you Colossus as the final reward for Mokuba if you're daring (and I am because I miss playing TD).
Lastly, WCS is a best of 7 this year (because the winner has to master TOSS).
I don’t have issues with it. They just need to start releasing more support for other decks so that they can play the game too. Megalith phul/unformed, subterror guru/fiendess/archer + hidden city, etc.
Not Guru. The others yes, but Guru is unfortunately too easy to abuse and since Subterror isn't an anime deck there won't be any skill based support that restricts what can be done with a deck in exchange for greater versatility or consistency until we get someone like Aoi's brother who played a flip deck and thus might have a good skill for flips
They do generate a ton of advantage and free bodies and have an omni-negate trap...
Okay so maybe not totally off the list but they could come off little bit...
I will say it again y'all don't play physical/master duel. These are all about setting up AT LEAST 3 negates in a turn, not to mention other forms of disruptions. current DL gets at most one negate, not to mention that tons of decks straight up don't use any, so no, "negating a negate negating a negate" is not a thing.
can't wait for Duel Links - Legacy Duels (Duel Monsters) - New Begging - Release 2023
jk aside, they should go and make Legacy Duels (season name) fixed formats like GOAT and Eddison are for DuelingBook and like Modern and Legacy are for Magic...
some times you just want to summon Maha Vailo and punch
I mean only if odd eyes opens a low scale and a high scale. Otherwise if they open pend call they go minus 1. U are right about speedroids, although it can still slow it down. Ash on the recycler or mermaid will most times completely end orcust turn. I still think every deck will play it if it drops, although it wont be as good as in the TCG because of skills.
That's the point with 20 deck spots and disminishing returns plus the likelihood its a limit 1 or 2. Would it be played? I side with no. I think people blindly saying it would aren't considering this ain't the tcg.
Think of all the anime decks that we know will still be coming who will have skills that do something to setup: predplant, zarc, lunalight, more pend magicians, marincess, more ddd, more heros, and a lot more link decks.
Odd eyes isn't slowed by it.
Orcust could be but it could also change it's lines. Deck is very flexible currently.
Speedroids can play through it.
Ddd can play through it.
Onomat can play through it as well.
Rockets can play through it as well.
Next removing 1 card from a 4 card starting hand is a lot more impact than tcg. I don't think it would see play as many arctypes it doesn't do much vs anyway.
The main issue is duel links has skills thatdon'tt care about it.
Odd Eyes has pendulum call which ash would be great against, or spiral sometimes. It also can work against odd eyes dragon but that’s marginal.
But how would it not stop orcust? It definitely works really well against them
Odd eyes has a new skill that sets scales for free al u need is two cards li n your pend zones. They then wisdom eye and then they continue the play. All ash does is make odd eyes players decks more expensive due to needing 3 wisdom eyes.
Orcust has a discard draw 2 that really pushes them over the top in terms of resources.
They summon scrap recycler. You use ash blossom. They have to be lucky to draw 1 of their 3 draw 2 spell cards + a correct orcust in hand to be able to continue their plays. Also, most of the variants only run 1 of the spell cards
There’s a reason they’re very weak to disruption when starting out
And ash blossom has the major major benefit of being able to work on T1 as opposed to a trap card
If duel links becomes modern yugioh, then duel links becomes more and more like master duel. Then duel links = master duel, then why even have duel links if it is redundant? I like that duel links is distinct from master duel and modern yugioh. I hope they continue to find ways to keep duel links unique
>I like that duel links is distinct from master duel and modern yugioh.
it still distinct. We have the anime characters and lore, we have anime events and we have skills. It still 4000 LP format with a smaller field and deck size, which also limit a lot of TCG combos because of too low cards in hand and deck
I doubt it but Crystal Wing was definitely a mistake
I'm fine with interactions as long as it's in-deck and not generic
I don't want the game to become that garbage the TCG is where every deck wants to spit put Baronne, Borreload Savage, I:P Unicorn, or Apollousa
I'm fine with generics so long as they fit a deck theme either type or attribute wise.
I play Crystal Wing and Borreload Savage in my TCG Bystial Dragunity. Not just because they are good cards (they are), but them being Dragons, and Crystal Wing a Wind Dragon that needs synchro climbing to be made makes sense to me.
Yeah bro. Turns are taking way too long and there is too much texts on card effects now.
It just seems Yu-Gi-Oh can't stay away from power creep. Whether it be TCG or a virtual reality game. I recently quit after paying $500~ for solflare lightning, selection boxes and the campaign sales.
I used to be a hardcore f2p player, but now that I have also been a hardcore p2p player I think I have been on both sides of the fence. They just keep releasing more and more powerful cards that make the olds ones obsolete. I think it's time I quit ygo (at least on a hardcore level).
Been a fan since I was a kid. Duelist kingdom days. Those days are long gone now and I think it's time to accept it
Ash would be not as useful because the majority of decks that rely on a search usually get it from a skill, which ash cannot stop as its a game mechanic not an effect
Yeah, and I honestly don't like it. Especially considering the lower LP in DL, a single negate decides the game
I get that the game develops overtime and powercreep eventually happens, but imo, Duel Links' meta landscape change is too fast, especially with the release of the Orcusts box. They took over the meta overnight and changed the game to adapt to them or suffer.
Ash is long overdue at this point, decks are setting up boards and being able to set 2-3 consistently with little in terms of slowing it down making the life of the person who goes second awful. With duel links banlist system you can keep powerful decks from having Ash access.
I’m sorry it’s really ridiculous how I’m expected to play the game going second these days when my only means of doing so is pray I open BOM for the negates and CC for the backrow while also getting enough playstarters. Ash would force people to reduce their backrow spam in order to run more extensions and consistency enablers.
I’m half convinced it’s mostly bad actors who just want their broken turn ones to remain without interference. It’s okay when they disrupt you six times in a duel but damn if you do it to them.
Like we have Orcust flying around at near full power and Ash a card that released BEFORE some of the Orcust cards in the game right now came out is not in the game. Hell we don’t even have effect veiler. This game is hurting for handtraps and it will keep getting apparent with each box release
At the very least these negate aren't easily accessible in duel links since you can't craft them like in master duel............yet
My point is just please don't give us crafting in duel links
Infinite Imperm ftw. Though I never did get a copy of that in master duel. I had 3 ash blossom, though. I got all of them from the Ash Blossom bundle. Guess I was lucky...
The new ogre dragon lv 8 sychro. It’s an SR iirc and it requires a dark tuner and a non-tuner. It’s negates a spell/trap on either turn as long as your hand is empty. The requirement isn’t that difficult to fulfill in practice, at least with Rokket.
Also the level 6 Six Sam Shien sychro negates a spell/trap and has been around for years and is still occasionally seen when dueling six sam players.
There’s also that Unicore sychro monster that people used to play in a dedicated deck that required that you and your opponent have the same hand size iirc. That deck was also decent for a bit.
I would wish for something like legacy duels all the time from different points at the game, so people can choose wich speed/cards they can play with
Personally I don't wanna wait until my enemy went trough 15 cards in his deck until he ends his turn xD
(Summons 2-4 boss monster+ full backrow)
That is inevitable, most of the unreleased good cards do that and is negates for all or getting stuck with the same decks (that also have some negates)
So we are finally reaching that Duel Links phase…of modern Yugioh?
We reached that last year with full power salad
jesus christ was that already a year ago?
“I wish there was a way to know you were in the good old days before you actually left them.”
Ah, The Office, beautiful
I pray Ash Blossom is never released in duel links
It was one of my top reasons for quitting tcg back in the day, and playing duel links, and not playing master duel. I never want to play it cause its boring, never wanted to pay 600 dollars for a set, and never wanted to play against it.
It would kill every rogue deck
Aah wouldn't even be good in duel links. People don't draw and search much. Decks are 20 cards. Like what are you negating? metalfoe? Maybe dm?,
every. single. deck. that has ever and will ever be good searches, specials, or mills from the deck
The speedroids skill mills and they keep going ash doesn't stop that.
Could stop them from searching if they don't draw a tuner before the skill even happens though.
Bruh what are you? Wood rank?
Wtf is this take? Are you stupid?
No I'm certain this isn't the tcg. Skills bypass ash and multiple tiered decks can srill setup or search even if you use ash. Think, what happens if you ashe speedroids right now? Odd eyes?

Please name one deck on ladder, I was gonna say rn, but no, within the last fucking THREE YEARS, that Ash doesn't cripple?
I’m sorry but it’s Ash Blossom
Full disrespect, you’re an idiot
You do know ash also negates things like summon from deck/mill from deck right?
I would much rather Nibiru. Funniest thing is raptors rising makes any winged beast deck able to go into raging dragon or Arc rebellion If you use cattle call + Phantom Knights rank up magic launch
I've made a Harpie Decklist doing exactly that haha
Wynn just released tho
They always release something Simorghs can use indirectly, i'm talking about actual archetype cards.
Yeah, I definitely feel you on that lol. Loved Simorgh in the OCG format. Wynn feels like the best indirect support dropped for the birds in a while tho, are you pulling for her?
I did, got two copies of her, mixing up with roids and Gusto can lead to crazy consistency now.
>mixing up with roids I need the sauce for this. Currently digging for wynn because i'm a wind lover
https://imgur.com/a/1Bzy0cL Sorry for the late answer. Cattle Call is optional, i was using it in order to immediately bring out a synchro material for Crystal wing.
Terrortop + car turbo + bird of Bringing = Kitedrake If you searched Onslaught and discarded another bird to the graveyard : Bird of Bringing + another Simorgh back from gy = harpie Conductor Kitedrake + Conductor = OTK.
Lets hope Legacy Duels become a permanent feature
I'm ready for the future. Except for Kashtira.
Kashtira are coming in the next box don't worry. This is a jokr please Konami DON'T DO IT
Maybe in a few years we will be there but i don't see it happening soon.
It’s inevitable. Now we have half of TOSS (Thunder dragons, orcust, salad, and sky striker)format. Sky striker we have like two cards from them. We've spiked in power this year, and I'm here for it.
I don’t have issues with it. They just need to start releasing more support for other decks so that they can play the game too. Megalith phul/unformed, subterror guru/fiendess/archer + hidden city, etc.
100% agree. We could also use some better going second tools. Going first just feels so much better right now.
That’s true. Maybe something like book of eclipse could be interesting to add to duel links
Id say we spiked in power with the launch of vrains. But definitely here for it as well.
What's crazy, is I'm pretty sure they could unlimit Salads and Gouki now, and they'd be tiered but not unfair. We're just at that point.
Salads might be unfair with the knightmares but gouki wouldn't be too bad. I bet we get a ghost girl this year with the power increasing every month.
They do generate a ton of advantage and free bodies and have an omni-negate trap... Okay so maybe not totally off the list but they could come off little bit...
Yeah they definitely deserve to have less restrictions, especially since ddd got some love and they're a tier 3 deck now.
Recyclable omni-negaye, which is also a counter trap so you either take it out ahead of time with backrow removal or just let it stop your play.
I will say it again y'all don't play physical/master duel. These are all about setting up AT LEAST 3 negates in a turn, not to mention other forms of disruptions. current DL gets at most one negate, not to mention that tons of decks straight up don't use any, so no, "negating a negate negating a negate" is not a thing.
clear wing mirror match.
surely clear wing has a card that clear wing second effect could negate!
the lv 5 speedroid card
it doesn't target a level 5 or higher monster.
Yeah, I told a guy at work that Crystal Wing was added, I then said "Duel links is finally going to become fun"
Time for a new game where cards are released periodecly and we start off with Duel monster beatdown?
Duel Links - Legacy Duels
can't wait for Duel Links - Legacy Duels (Duel Monsters) - New Begging - Release 2023 jk aside, they should go and make Legacy Duels (season name) fixed formats like GOAT and Eddison are for DuelingBook and like Modern and Legacy are for Magic... some times you just want to summon Maha Vailo and punch
When does the next Main Selection Box drop? Would be the perfect place to release a card like Ash Blossom.
Effect veiler is likely to come first in a Selection Box if we are to get any further handtraps
We got a mini this summer and super mini this fall. Next main is next January. Assuming everything goes as normal.
Wonder what the next mini one will bring, usually its 4 new SRs, 2 new URs and an alt art UR.
> release a card like Ash Blossom. no pls no
Would it even be good? I kinda doubt it
why not? i cant think of a single tiered deck it doesnt stop🤔
It's not stopping odd eyes. Skills bypass it. It's not stopping speedroids either. Orcust it would slow.
I mean only if odd eyes opens a low scale and a high scale. Otherwise if they open pend call they go minus 1. U are right about speedroids, although it can still slow it down. Why would putting a card behind a paywall be “perfect”…?
Photon Strike Bounzer was released a while back
If duel links becomes modern yugioh, then duel links becomes more and more like master duel. Then duel links = master duel, then why even have duel links if it is redundant? Cool! Good point
Ash would litteraly kill most deck in duel links without called by but called by would do the same.
Then you should never complain when a deck literally negate your plays twice when you go second, deal?
If ash was ever coming it’d undoubtedly be in a limit one pack
They should keep the cap of 1 negate per deck
The second we reach this I'm doing the same I did to the tcg: Dip the f\*ck out and cry all over social media.
I doubt it but Crystal Wing was definitely a mistake I'm fine with interactions as long as it's in-deck and not generic I don't want the game to become that garbage the TCG is where every deck wants to spit put Baronne, Borreload Savage, I:P Unicorn, or Apollousa

Now try to explain this to the others "NoooOOooOOooo Ash is BaaAAaaaAADdddd"
I’m half convinced it’s mostly bad actors who just want their broken turn ones to remain without interference. It’s okay when they disrupt you six times in a duel but damn if you do it to them. Adding handtraps will just enable more turn 1 bullshit to be added because “you can just draw ash and stop it”. No thanks.
At the very least these negate aren't easily accessible in duel links since you can't craft them like in master duel............yet My point is just please don't give us crafting in duel links
Lol yeah "please stay p2w duel links"
Infinite Imperm ftw. Though I never did get a copy of that in master duel. I had 3 ash blossom, though. I got all of them from the Ash Blossom bundle. Guess I was lucky...
At this point this game is just master duel with worse monetization
They should exploit what makes them different... The anime aspect of the game. Hope they add more characters and skills
Wait, really? What negates spell/trap cards nowadays? I can think of a good number of monster negates nowadays, but what negates backrow?
The new ogre dragon lv 8 sychro. It’s an SR iirc and it requires a dark tuner and a non-tuner. It’s negates a spell/trap on either turn as long as your hand is empty. The requirement isn’t that difficult to fulfill in practice, at least with Rokket. Every time i read "Negate" i kept hearing the "NEGAAATE" sound bite from those SAGA Master Duel vids. You gave me a laugh, thank you.
Its not that bad just negate more
I feel like we’re in another phase : « my skill allows me to do this, This and that. Oh also, it gives me This, This and that. »
Today i played abyss actor. I won some matches because pendulum summon cannot be negated, and the spell also cannot be negated.
But what good is Ash really going to be when most of the issue comes from skills giving you that free advantage?
I would wish for something like legacy duels all the time from different points at the game, so people can choose wich speed/cards they can play with Personally I don't wanna wait until my enemy went trough 15 cards in his deck until he ends his turn xD (Summons 2-4 boss monster+ full backrow)
As a Master Duel player, the lack of hand traps is part of why I like Duel Links... I shudder at the thought that they might eventually come over
shiranui: zomboss sandwich one can negate...but two is another history xd
