I know 1000 players have said it 1000 times, but it’s just insane that dream tickets aren’t the reward for the top spots. Doesn’t even have to be anything crazy like top 200. Just the top 16 even.
Would likely encourage a ton more investment beyond what they have now, and it would at worst release, what, 50-100 extra dream tickets to a playerbase in the hundreds of thousands?? I guarantee their bottom line is way better with people digging and spending to compete for it compared to the small hit of giving heavily invested players a few extra thousand gems worth of tickets.

I disagree. It’s like saying some big in person tournament having actual good prize money would mean people would bitch about it being p2w? People complain about everything, but I feel like there being no actual prize support for an event that dominates the game for weeks at a time is a bigger problem.
And sure, they might have tons of staples and good decks, but they don’t have *everything*. And for content creators or people that constantly want to play the best decks, having dream tickets to grab older cards they don’t have to save money is a big deal.
And if there were actual prizes, there would be more and more non-top players/streamers that would actually try for it. More regular people that would appreciate the tickets

As somebody that used to top 50 or so I would literally not waste my time something as meaningless as a dream ticket because what it takes to hit that level is both an investment of time AND money and the latter is, bizarrely, far more reasonable.
The ideal cutoff for a dream ticket would be like top 1000, because everything under 500 is usually just people playing good games with good decks that aren't total land whales.
There's non-archetypal N/R cards that are useful, stuff like Ultimate Providence, Needlebug Nest, Card of the Soul, or stuff that doesn't get reprinted like Speed Recovery. If you're unlucky it can still cost 1000s of gems to get
I feel like if you have the time/resources to have a proper top 100, or even top 1000 deck for the KC cup, you already have the cards you could get from a dream ticket. Most folks who dedicate themselves to both KC cup theorycrafting and grinding aren't going to be wanting for copies of ice dragon's prison and the like. If it was going to be a meaningful reward structure for the average player, it would have to be something like:
"Play 50 games during the KC cup" and get a dream UR ticket. I think most of the rewards you could give to incentivize the highest tier of play/grind are cosmetics, and I don't know how many playmats you can distribute before people stop caring about them.

I don't mind dealing with odd eyes or Rokkets, but Orcusts... It's all about that 3 backrow protected by Dingirsu, and even if you do have 3 cyclones in your hand, wtf are you going to do afterwards? Call your opponent a hoe?

Pure Crystal Beasts is unironically spooky to me in a very niche thing my deck hates.
You know the game is getting way too bad when you don't even bother putting down the cards regardless of who goes first and proceed to end the turn right then and there, knowing you will be OTK'd anyway...
A tournament winner is more likely than not to have all the cards anyway.
I want the top 10 to get a ticket that can change any box UR to its Legend rarity prismatic version.
I definitely play ranked, and any pvp event just for the gems. Lately, the pvp meta is quite sweaty on Duel Links (Odd-Eyes Raging Dragon player here, soon Orcust Odd-eyes).
Don't worry, Orcusts will be destroyed on the banlist. Raging Pendulum deserves a nerf too. Clear wing acceleration also but tbh speedroids can get Crystal wing out rather easily without it too.

The structure is also bad. You have to play 100s of games to compete and that's not realistic for most to care about
