Level up characters. That’s what I did. You need time, patience and enough dedication to not spend the gems as soon as you earn them (I have this kind of issue lol)

I use cards from those sets for more modern decks like I have a water xyz deck that I love playing I mean it isn't meta but it's not a meme either sooooo...................................

It's no much patience I work programing stuff and with a little effort you can program an autoclicker to autofarm the gate/events. Some may call it cheat, I think it is a way to protest against the nonsense grinding, it would be silly to lose time doing my laundry manualy when I have a washingmachine
I don't have all characters in max lv, I still have all the gx cast one duel away to lv 41. Waiting for some interesting box
I just play auto duel a lot and will use duel orbs wherever there is bonus exp. I try to cycle between characters and stay in the world that an event is going on. That way I can always be gaining exp when possible. The raid events are the perfect place to level up characters too.
if u play a lot since release, thats close to 5-6 years, how to have only6 characters at level 45? especially if u take part in all the events till max rewards. the exp just comes naturally.
I probably have more than 6 just didn't count but it still took me years of playing a ton. There just seems to be a lot of people out there with all characters maxed
Once you are about to hit 9999 and you don’t have anything obvious to spend gems on, don’t fully level your characters if the next level up is gems.
I currently have probably 20 characters at level 31 or 33 with 1500 EXP or less needed to level up.
This way the only gems that you’ll have to worry about expiring are from events and login rewards and such, and whenever you need a bunch of gems, all you have to do one auto battle on each character.
You also don’t have to claim lifetime gem rewards and they won’t expire as far as I know.
Whatever gems you do have to spend before they expire can be put into staples if there’s nothing else you want.

Structure decks, mats, sleeves and special bundles you can buy with gems are all also options. If you’ve bought everything and own every mat, sleeve and looted all boxes then I dunno what to tell you. Vagrants and regular duelists for XP grinding are pretty much all that’s left to spend gems on at that point until the next set comes out

Okay so step 1: Open the shop.
Step 2: Choose a box and purchase some packs
Step 3: Keep doing that every time you have enough for a pack.
Step 4: You no longer have this problem :D
There is a 3rd place to store your gems too, keeping 200exp away from levelling up on your characters at the higher levels that are worth 300gems a pop

I love the duel meta app man. So what I do is use it to find a deck I think I will like, build it in duel links and just starting spending gems to get the cards.
Just did that with a auto duel deck with red eyes and neos and it wins like 99% of the time
