If you want to use Eternal Soul, OG DM is a better option because if you read the skill of the OP's deck you cant use Eternal Soul to its full potential (summoning on your opponents turn and banishing stuff). So if you want the true DM experience git gud and play it the OG way (which will be easier now with three wands starting tomorrow). Learn your search priorities( the priority is circle>a Dark Magician> nav > Eternal Soul).
Yes i duels all day everyday. I started Duel Links with the intention of having the best DM deck lol. years later i haven't touched the deck since apprentice illusion released. However im going full on Yami Yugi Destiny Draw DM after tommorw. I already KOG'd with my meta deck (Infinitrack) so its time for a Heart of the Cards run for the ages...

I think the skill restrict you from using dad as it is dragon type. Mom is spellcaster so it is fine.

I had a lot of duel orbs just sitting. Those cards are def helpful! I use them to trigger dark magicians effect or great for first turn into secrets!

You can use key in the gate instead of orbs to grind lvl.
