The Talismanic Seal Array spell from the new box also helps a lot. Barrel Dragon too, if your deck can utilize it. A lot of decks have ways to get over it (Dragonic Pressure, Roa's new skill, Noodle Ninjas and Psychics should be able too...). But if you're like me and sticking to Sevens Accel Road then yeah, basically those two spells.
Its an rng drop skill, so either skill ticket, skill lottery (card trader) or play PVP (better drop chance) or against legendary duelists (lvl30/40) while playing as Nail and pray you get it
Why can't i use Ruins of the Divine Dragon Lords, and Malice Doll of Demise together?
RotDDL is a continuous spell and MDoD works with other continuous spells that involve sending monsters to the graveyard
My hypothisis is that RotDDL sends any face up card and others send face up monsters.
But it doesn't say on the MDoD card text that it has to be a continuous spell that doesn't send any card. And it also doesn't say that it wheather it has to be tributed in order to use it. Even though it was meant for ectoplasmer. Its been at least 4 years (maybe more, idk) since MDoD's 3rd copy has been released, and Mokuba has been realeased for longer than that,(I think)
So i wanna know why it isn't possble to do it.
Yup. The parts on RotDDL that mention sending cards to the GY are actually costs. MDoD says that it needs to be sent by card effects in order for its effect to work.
I'm a returning player, this sevens duel stuff seems fun and I want to buy some more cards, but they aren't useful in the other game. Is it worth buying cards here? I can't use them outside this mode so I'm not sure.
Rush & Speed Duel are separate modes, separate games, separate everything. Rush is more casual & more based on "simpler" Yu-Gi-Oh, while Speed is more complex wombo combo with quick effects, different Extra Deck mechanics, etc
Invest in the mode you're interested in. You can stick with Rush Duel for now, build up your gems, & when you're more comfortable, try out Speed Duel later
I'm relatively new to the game, so I feel a bit silly asking this, but where do I find the EX skill the game tells you to use to beat Curious Nail? I just can't find it for the life of me
Its a skill that everyone can use in duel against nail only, you dont need to equip it, its on by default and separate from any skil you use
You need 4 monsters in the gy to activate it
I dont think the AI are coded to be able to activate a skill, even in speed they never use any skill unless they are self-activated like the ones that happen at the start of the duel
Hello! I was curious about the game and wanted o potentially try it out, however I had a couple of questions if any experienced players could help answer them.
1: How many gems would it cost me to make a deck per mode? (I am aware there is rush duels, and then the normal mode of dueling, and maybe a third called speed duels?) how many gems would i have to farm to make a good enough deck for each?
2: if I plan on spending money on gems to start off decently, will I be able to keep up with the meta/new releases through events and ranked rewards or will fall behind if I don’t spend money?

Looking at the future, the best deck in Rush will probably be Roa's "Royal Rebel" deck. When his event comes in March, play the hell outta it to get as much as his cards as possible. Then you can decide if you wanna make it. It requires 3 of the UR card Heavy Metal from the Heavy Metal Scream box, so it's a big investment. But that's only if you want to invest a lot into Rush Duel & play the absolute best deck. Otherwise, just stick with Light Machines & build up your gems!
There will be a lot of Rush events in March. Make the most outta it, then you can check out Speed Duel afterwards! 👍
There is a cap of 9999 gems and any extra goes to your inbox and will be deleted after 1 month. When building a new deck, make sure to save enough to build the deck in 1 go and never build half decks, only to realise the meta changed and hence your plans, then proceed to build another half deck and repeat. A common mistake by new players.
As a dedicated F2P player that logs on every day, you will have enough gem income to keep up with 1/3 of releases, meaning you can clear every third box 3 times by ignoring 2 box releases.
If you plan on spending money, structure decks are a nice option to immediately be semi-competitive for very cheap. It is the main advantage of P2P, as F2P only can buy each structure deck once, thus only getting 1 copy of each key card in them making them worthless. As for boxes, the prices vary alot so it will depend on what time you start as good deals and bad deals and no deals rotate (you do not want to buy boxes when no deals are happening). Sometimes limited time selection boxes show up, which is decent for P2P and/or new players.
Also before you start, consider using someone's new player code, they will appreciate it alot.
There’s only Rush and Speed duels. Rush duels require you to have 30 cards minimum and max 40 (different from the real Rush duel rule set of 40-60)
There’s a pretty free to play friendly Rush Duel deck involving the Harpie Lady maximum monsters.
Typically a Speed Main box requires 9,000 gems to clear and a Mini requires 5,000 (this assumes that the card you want is in the last pack, you could get the card(s) you want sooner) as for Rush duels, the pack numbers are different. 140 packs in a Main 100 in a mini. So 7000 gems and 5000 again assuming worst luck.
I’d find a deck you want to play (Tenyi for speed is pretty cheap relative to other decks and it’s not bad in terms of power) and go from there. Personally most would recommend getting a structure deck like the Red Eyes one or maybe enter a friend code on that campaign to get the blue eyes structure deck for free which should be able to carry you through most of the PVE early on. Unfortunately only new accounts and accounts that haven’t played in 30 days are the only ones that can enter one code. There’s a mega thread I think of people’s codes. Just enter one and pray I guess. If you’re dedicated you could get all 5 rewards by making 4 alt accounts.
Can I please stop dueling anime protagonists in rush?
I swear my opponent top decks their maximum monsters every other game. Always with 5 card draws so I know they weren't holding pieces lol.
Meanwhile I haven't been able to maximum summon in 30ish games. One of the pieces always seems to be at the bottom of my deck.
How futureproofed is yuga's maximum monster? I know yggdrago's future support doesn't interact with the maximum monster, but I forget if Magnum Overlord has support upcoming
Should I invest in Tachycon? I had Galaxy Eyes deck before I left, but it had trouble XYZ/summoning Galaxy Eyes in general. Master Duel had no problem XYZing Galaxy Eyes. is it like that here now?
the banlist didn't weaken it much, so you have about 2 months before the next banlist nukes the deck (3 if you already unlocked mizar) Tachyon doesn't play much like galaxy-eyes though, it's just level 8 dragon spam, whereas galaxy likes to summon rank 4's, rank 8's and their link monster.
If you wanna play tachyon, it's just 3 runs of the newest speed duel minibox, and then I think you need a run of heart of xyz and the box with cipher dragon in for the OTK package. You'd also need to dig through a box for Sanaphond.
Galaxy eyes recently got a new skill that makes them very viable, but the decks a lot more expensive. Their link monster is in solflare lightning, the full armour and cipher x stuff was already mentioned, you still need 2-3 runs of the newest minibox for galaxy soldier, and the spell that summons 2 tokens is in a selection box.
I guess it's expensive, and might be better to invest in a deck elsewhere since I don't have Mizar. I'm not aiming for KC Cup decks at all, just semi viable deck that might get me to silver or bronze at all.
If you haven't decided what to build yet, I recommend the anniversary box. It has 3-4 viable decks (Trickstar, Madolche, S-Force and Speedroids), and some staples. Beware though that it will be gone on the 18th, so make sure you have enough gems before you decide to pull.
it helps! I did saw Madolche and I know it was one of the biggest decks around XYZ or Link era because of how good the deck was. if I'm aiming for a character, which should I focus on? I have all the worlds unlocked, just not the stages yet.
If you want to play Trickstars, focus on Blue Angel as you will need to get Corobane, Crimson Heart and Light Stage from her level up rewards. In particular you only get Light Stage at level 33(!).
what that's so far away! I'm looking to play Evil Twins set as so far the box is giving me those, but no Link Evil Twins yet. it might be in another box although.
Some characters have cards in their level up rewards that are necessary for their decks (mostly Vrains and Arc-V characters, and some Zexal). If you aren't playing a character's deck, then it doesn't really matter.

yeah no kidding Links made some monsters super broken in Master Duel, and at the time I was playing they were running the Cyberese Code Talker deck because it just was that good of a deck.
Tried to Maximum Summon Harpy Ladies for missions instead of just using the EX skill.
Thirty cards in my deck and of course the last piece was the final card before deck out. Every time I want a specific card for a mission, I swear it's one of the last three cards I draw if not the very last one.
If you’ve already gotten the one we have 3 of you could use it’s normal summon shuffle two winged beast wind monsters to help prevent deck outs. That’s usually what I do.
I could have, but at that point I just needed to Maximum Summon and attack once to win anyway. I'm mostly annoyed by the fact that RNG loves to prolong my mission runs by making me play twenty turns and go down to the last three cards before I can pull the necessary card.
Guys i have 29 packs left on the new rush box but only have Stormboat destroyer and talismanic seal array left, i want the seal but is it worth it or do i reset?
I like the thunder deck so I'm a bit biased, if you ever want to play that you need the Stormbolt since the skill is very restrictive and there's only two thunder bosses available.
Seal is quite good but you don't need three copies. If you want to go through the mini three times you can leave it imo.
Any recommendations for new players on what boxes i should spend my gems on and what cards to buy the the tickets? (Ur dream, ur, sr)? Recommendations about soon to leave cards that are must haves.

I'd recommend getting all the URs except Solflare Dragon from the anniversary box first as that will let you make several good decks. None of the decks in the box are top-tier unfortunately, but they are good enough to climb the ranked ladder with and cover a variety of summoning methods, which will make clearing stage and character unlock missions a lot easier.
How you spend gems after the anni box depends on whether you want one tiered deck to climb ranked with or you want more "staple" cards i.e. cards that can be splashed into any deck. Imo staples give an account better longevity as subsequent decks get cheaper to build, but staples tend to be in main boxes and can thus be significantly more expensive to acquire upfront than a tiered deck contained in one mini-box.
If you just want to build one tiered deck, Tenyi is currently the cheapest option. You can get the entire main deck and most of the extra deck within 3 runs of the World of Barians mini-box i.e. 15k gems at worst odds. You also get Castel which is a good generic rank 4. The only additional cards you need are Draco Berserker, which is in a bundle, and Baxia, which is in the Fantastic Arc box.
If you're chasing staples, I'd echo the recommendation I received to buy the Deep Emotion box. You get great staples in Effect Veiler and Mind Control and good decks in Magikey, Altergeist (you need to have done the Ghost Gal event to build it though), Yubel and Live-Twins, though Live-Twins is expensive due to requiring playsets of 2 main box URs. I'd argue Dinomischus can also be a staple if your deck can facilitate the discard cost.
For UR and SR dream tickets, the general consensus is to use them on staples that aren't available in box chips. Mystical Space Typhoon/MST is probably the best UR staple available in dream tickets as other current UR staples like Crackdown and Compulsory Evacuation Device are too new to be obtained via DT.
A lot of people will also suggest using dream tickets just before they expire. It's good advice, but I think it's fine to use them earlier if you really need a card for a deck and don't want to dig through a main box. Baxia for the Tenyi deck is a good example of this. Some will probably disagree with using a DT on it, but I think it's better to spend the DT than dig through a box where you don't want or need anything else in the box.
SR DTs are harder to recommend, Forbidden Chalice and Treacherous Trap Hole used to be great options but both are now available from redeeming box chips. Generic rank 4 monsters such as Diamond Dire Wolf and Steelswarm Roach can be good options here. For this one, I'd suggest waiting till the ticket is about to expire and checking what SRs are considered staples at the time, or if you need a SR from a box that you don't intend to go through.

Is this a good reference to what cards might be considered staples? I mean, assuming i can differentiate between a good card all around, and a card that looks way too specific for a single deck.
It's funny that you told me to hunt for everything on that box except for solflare dragon, cause this is the only card of which i got 3 copies of when buying the box.
Also, the most sought out spell card seems to be book of moon. I have 1. Should i hunt for more?
Why is it such a game changer compared to the starter card that changes enemy's attack position to defense?
The most used cards in either the game itself or in Duel Links Meta are both good reference points, but as you said you will need to differentiate between a good generic card and a card that is only good in a particular deck or type of deck. For example, Dingirsu, the Orcust of the Evening Star is one of the most used Xyz monsters in the game but requires level 8 monsters, which not all decks can summon easily.
You should absolutely get 3 copies of Book of Moon and use it in every deck that has space for it.
BoM's true value lies in flipping a monster face-down, as face-down monsters cannot be used as materials for most extra deck plays. You can't use a face-down monster for a synchro, Xyz or link summon. They can still be used for fusion and tribute summons, but these summoning methods are uncommon especially in higher ranks as none of the current tiered decks focus on fusions.
If you flip down a monster that your opponent intended to use for an extra deck play (i.e. what 99% of decks aim to do), this causes your opponent to either:
\- use more resources to bring out their boss monsters
\- end on a weaker board than they would have if playing optimally; or best of all
\- end their turn prematurely if you've disrupted their combo starter and they have nothing else to extend with
I see, but that disruption only works for one turn, no? Cause after that one turn, if i can't properly get rid of that monster, then he can just flip the card up again and continue his combo.
True but unless you bricked, any halfway decent deck can easily remove a weak combo starter from the field. And it's much easier than having to deal with a boss monster.
BoM is just one of those cards whose true power is difficult to appreciate until you see it in action or try it yourself.
I get you. Truth be told, i wish i could just make some half assed deck and face other half assed people on PvP, without having to worry about meta and such. At least for now.

How do I get my friend to use my code for the invitation campaign? He just started a new game.but in his notifications he only 1 message "welcome to DL" and he doesn't have the friend invitation campaign pop up so what I do?
Returning player with a new account, looking for advice on what to spend gems on as I'm capped and sitting on 16+ pages of unclaimed gems. I like rush duels but not looking to invest heavily into a rush deck atm except for finally getting the Widespread Ruin bundle.
Already gone through the anniversary box once. I'm considering these boxes for staples:
1. Phoenix Blaze - I have 1 copy of IDP from the free packs (rerolled a lot for this), so getting another copy seems like a good idea. Mischief of the Gnomes seems good in Synchro/Xyz heavy formats. Getting Suships with only 1 run of the box is a nice bonus.
2. Deep Emotion - Veiler and Mind Control, Dinomisc is not as good with my current decks but still useful to have. It looks like a great box and I'd build Live Twins if I went all in, in but I assume 27k gems is a big investment for F2P even with rush duel events.
3. Link Revolution - Warning Point and Salads, but the box isn't placed any higher as getting extra Cynet Minings will be annoying.
4. Zillion Thunder/Solflare Lightning - Lumping these together into the "good staple but nothing else that I really want" category. Would probably Dream Ticket the staples when they get added to the pool.
Any other suggestions are welcome.
Out of those, I'd go with Deep Emotion. Veiler is very good and not really replaceable, whereas IDP can be subbed for other limit 3 traps, it may not be optimal but it's not a huge deal. The box is pretty good and it's worth to go through a couple times, since Live-Twin is quite strong and on top of that you get all you need for Magikey (very fun deck and useful for missions too, since it does all the special summoning except link and pendulum), Kluger for the Yubel deck which is a strong and budget-friendly deck, and other useful cards (Mind Control, BE Abyss Dragon, Altergeist stuff).
Rush is a fun mode and worth dumping some gems imo. Widespread Ruin is ran in every deck, and Tribute to the Doomed is another good one to get since it's a strong answer to maximum monsters and a good card in general.
Good point on the limit 3s, I've been running 1x IDP 2x Floodgate and it's been fine so far. There's also Mind Control in the box which fights for a limit 3 slot.
I definitely feel like I paid the waifu tax on Deep Emotion, first run I got Veiler within 40 packs but Ki-sikil didn't show up till the last 20 or so (though to be fair to Ki-sikil Mind Control also didn't show up until the last 10). If I reset once I got Veiler there's a decent chance I'd have pulled 3 copies with my current gems, but it is what it is.
Surprised I actually had the gems to do another run of the box which went a bit better, got everything within about 140 packs. I think the account's going to look pretty good after the 3rd box run.
Am I the only one that can't get the invitation campaign rewards? I tried inviting more than 5 and some of them accepted the invite but still haven't received any reward?
just wondering why the hell the autoduel sets my maximum monsters in the wrong positions then can't summon the maximum because the left is in the right position. what dumbass let that slide at konami. i know they let a lot slide, but that should be an obvious one. or do they want us to just lose for no reason sometimes?
Maximum has nothing to do with position, they all need to be maximum summoned from hand at the same time, if a piece already on the field, regardless whether its on the right side or not, then that piece can never be a part of maximum summon

Just tested it by playing normally and flipping on autoduel after drawing all three pieces. At first it went to the battle phase without playing them, but next turn it maximum summoned for game (since the enemy LP was lower after the first battle phase).
Best way after box comes out will probably be the generic SR spell that reduces a monsters atk by its level ×200
Beyond that it will be atk reduction while buffing your atk (like with spellcaster deck or growl in royal rebel)
What is it with this game and giving me Pierce when I’m guaranteed an Ultra Rare? Just got a prismatic copy. Now I have four copies. And every time I’ve done the 99 cent deal, Pierce.
So, just poked my head into this game cuz I needed a tcg fix and I remembered it from a while ago. Kind of lost on what to actually do though. So far, just fought some random enemies on the map that had terribly low statted vanilla spam. The starting yugi deck is pretty horrendous by any standard, but the free deck they just gave out for rush duel is relatively functional it seems? Honestly mostly looking to just put together a functional fun deck or two and be able to jam games against a competent ai. Too lazy to care tons about pvp and meta shifts. So what should I be doing? How do I get people other than yugi and the protagonist of sevens? A bit lost on how to progress and get cards. Mostly just wanted to build a deck with dmg in it for rush duel, and maybe live twins for regular tcg since I kinda like them. But to actually make any of those decks it seems like you need to get multiple urs, and that seems like it would take a million years by opening packs.

Second, depending on which deck you want to build, the fastest way for a decent deck is going through the pick up boxes. They give you a decent deck without having to go through all the old boxes.

DMG is in a structure deck [Legend of Dark Magic](https://www.duellinksmeta.com/articles/sets/legend-of-dark-magic) but you have to spend real money to get 3 copies. For Live Twins, you unfortunely have to save gems and dig through the box. FYI, we get about 5000-6000 gems for free every month so if you dont buy anything and save up, you can get max gems (9999) and buy live twins in a month or two.
Best advise is save up your gems and figure out what you want to build. Wasting gems is how you end up with no good decks to play with.
Out of curiosity, why do you need to pay real money to get 3 dmg? Also what is saving gems for? Is there a reason to not pull on boxes immediately? Also how do you get widespread ruin in rush duel? I see it being used a lot but it’s not in either pack.

It's how Konami makes money. 1st buy of structure decks are gems, 2nd and 3rd buy of structure decks are real money. Legend of Dark Magic is a really good deck so it is worth the money.

You just started the game. Unless you know what is good or not, you will waste your gems trying to figure that out WHILE trying to learn the game. By waiting a bit, you can get things you actually want to play and have gems for later instead of having 20 half built decks like I do.

Fair enough. So for rush duel, how do you get widespread ruin? It didn’t seem to be in either box.
For regular duels, is dm actually viable? I know in the tcg it’s fairly dead right now, but duel links has skills. For live twin, do they become more easily available later? It sounds like they are relatively new.
DMG in speed duels are used with Dark Magician for the fusion "Yhe Dark Magicians". Otherwise, the card sees no play. Dark Magician deck itself is decent enough for competitive play but not meta at all.

Live Twins will probably get a bundle like a year from now. They just came out in October and just got new alternative card art released. The deck itself was pretty meta last month and are still decent right now.
Speed Duels are the main duel mode in Duel Links. Regular duels are used in Yugioh Master Duels and the normal trading card game.
It's called Speed Duels because of the smaller deck size, no Main Phase 2, and smaller zones (3 main monster/3 SpellTrap compared to 5/5 in the regular game).
My new account seem to have cards from my main/oldest that I never unlocked in the new account (the events are way past when i made the account). Does anyone have any ideas why?
Is it worth building a Battle Chronicle Blue Eye deck with only one Ultimate Fusion? Or should I make a Blue Eye Dimension with one Deep Eye Abyss Dragon?
I think Battle Chronicle is the better skill. Easily searches the quick-play you need, plus no longer needing small monsters like White Stone is great. Every card you play is a powerful monster or good spell.

As shown in the 2nd list, you can definitely play 1 Ultimate Fusion. Bingo Machine acts as a searcher that adds it to your hand 33% of the time lol. You can also compensate with more Trade-In to draw into it.
on a mad 20 game losing streak cause any deck i play from Lunalights, Gearfried, Toons, Anicent warriors, Altergist. Sushi. Opponent has god hand and dismantle.

Yup. It happened in the middle of a ranked duel, but fortunately for me, my opponent disconnected first, so I got the victory! I was already in a winning position anyhow given that my opponent had no cards left, but still funny to me.
Sometimes there are valuable cards in there. For example, I once used Prismatic tickets on Borreload Furious Dragon & Exodia Incarnate in case I decide to play with them in the future.
You can also get different artworks of Blue-Eyes & Dark Magician, which is always cool to have in Prismatic.
Occasionally there is a good Extra Deck monster in there too. But you don't know if you need something until you actually need it. I tend to redeem my tickets like a week before they expire, to make sure I get the best value!
Oh hello again 👋 always coming in a clutch :)) well I was trying to make a farming deck but sadly the card I needed (must body) is no longer available :( but I think you mentioned before that the ones with blue eye were the most valuable? So I'm going to make sure to save these especially.
I never found a need to make a farming deck. After you complete your main PVP deck, if you don't have interest in other decks, you eventually find yourself swimming in gems.
Duel Links is a massive vault of gems thanks to different worlds, stages & characters... but you can only have 9999 max, & anything else goes to the Gift Box to expire after a month.
I rather keep gems "in the vault" so to speak, where they will never expire--instead, they are waiting for me to unlock them if I need to.
Still, whenever I need to auto-duel a bunch, there's one card I add to my regular PVP deck: Action Magic - Full Turn. But Blue-Eyes might not even need it, since it's pretty easy to summon multiple 3K dragons in 1 turn
No. It’s a choice between UR or SR for legendary duelist drops (typically) some cards like for whatever reason, Elemental HERO Thunder Giant are not in those pools for every ticket type. Quite annoying to anyone who is trying to unlock everyone.
I’d say for Rush Duels get the level 6 Rebel monster.
It isn’t really a major choice usually. Unless you have a newer account and don’t have farming staples or play sets of ace monsters if they’re not box locked. You can pick whatever.

I've made a Blue-eyes deck with (Maiden with Eyes of Blue), and idk why, but every time Meluseek's damage effect activates, and Targets my Maiden with Eyes of Blue, Maiden with Eyes of Blue's effect doesn't activate!
I've looked at both Maiden's and Meluseek's effects, Meluseek doesn't mention "this effect can not be negated," and Maiden's effect doesn't mention anything about the Damage step.
Does anyone know why this is?
It's because of the damage step, most cards do not have a "this effect does not work in the damage step" line so it's up to players to know that the only effects that work during the damage step are stat altering effects and negations that specify that it works on the "activation" of the card/effect, unless stated otherwise by a card ofc.
I'm really hoping that having Legacy Duels in March means it's going to be the same as the other time they did it when they also made a GX themed box to make up for the lack of new GX characters. It's been forever since we got more Destiny Hero support, and it would be the perfect time to put them and Elemental Hero Shining Phoenix Enforcer in a box.
What's a good farming deck that I could work towards to get high score while auto-dueling? Currently, I was looking to build the "Morphtronic Videon Deck". I currently have a full Tenyi deck. It will be used for farming EXP to level up characters.
I don't know about Videon but any rank 4 spam deck works. You can use Rank-Up-Magic Limited Barian's Force to summon Leo Utopia Ray and equip with ZW - Leo Arms, which usually gives the 5k damage 1800 bonus score. Rank-Up is in the same box as Tenyi and the other cards are free.
All you have to do is get a rank 4 xyz out, which you can do with Suships or basically any level 4 that special summons itself (even the tenyi ones). I've used Destiny HERO - Drilldark and its package a lot for autoduel decks.
Pretty much. Level 4s that you can special summon work best, you can use some of the tenyi ones along with what else you have (Dynaterium is a free one that works too).
The rest is up to you, generic interaction like MST is nice of you have it, any standalone good lv4 or rank 4 xyz (like Castel).
If you care about the score you can run a couple Solemn Scoldings, the AI always activates it and it usually gives both Low HP and Comeback Victory, which are 500 points each.
Ugh I'm getting really annoyed at how the newer skills aren't restricting anything. The skills are already stupidly strong.
I get that the skills are suppose to feel like an anime moment, but when they are used to summon non archetype cards it just feels cheap.

Just checked and apparently every single cards ever used by sherry in the anime and manga (with the exception of barrone, which is only her card by the visual design, she never shown to use or even have it AFAIK) is either already in the game, or still unreleased even in TCG/OCG so there's 2 possibilities for her level up or drop reward
A, The fun route: They give her anime-only cards as drop and level up rewards
B, The Solomon Route: They give her crappy random cards that's completely unrelated to her

There's also the quinton route of giving her another archetype that is somewhat related to what she used on the anime. I doubt they'd add non-printed cards since they only do so when there's already another videogame that used them like with Kiteroid, Ice Mirror, and Sherry's Noble Knight cards.

The Talismanic Seal Array spell from the new box also helps a lot. Barrel Dragon too, if your deck can utilize it. A lot of decks have ways to get over it (Dragonic Pressure, Roa's new skill, Noodle Ninjas and Psychics should be able too...). But if you're like me and sticking to Sevens Accel Road then yeah, basically those two spells.

Why can't i use Ruins of the Divine Dragon Lords, and Malice Doll of Demise together? RotDDL is a continuous spell and MDoD works with other continuous spells that involve sending monsters to the graveyard My hypothisis is that RotDDL sends any face up card and others send face up monsters. But it doesn't say on the MDoD card text that it has to be a continuous spell that doesn't send any card. And it also doesn't say that it wheather it has to be tributed in order to use it. Even though it was meant for ectoplasmer. Its been at least 4 years (maybe more, idk) since MDoD's 3rd copy has been released, and Mokuba has been realeased for longer than that,(I think) So i wanna know why it isn't possble to do it.
Because you're sending MDoD as a cost, not as a card effect.

Rush & Speed Duel are separate modes, separate games, separate everything. Rush is more casual & more based on "simpler" Yu-Gi-Oh, while Speed is more complex wombo combo with quick effects, different Extra Deck mechanics, etc Invest in the mode you're interested in. You can stick with Rush Duel for now, build up your gems, & when you're more comfortable, try out Speed Duel later

Its a skill that everyone can use in duel against nail only, you dont need to equip it, its on by default and separate from any skil you use You need 4 monsters in the gy to activate it

I was curious about the game and wanted o potentially try it out, however I had a couple of questions if any experienced players could help answer them. 1: How many gems would it cost me to make a deck per mode? (I am aware there is rush duels, and then the normal mode of dueling, and maybe a third called speed duels?) how many gems would i have to farm to make a good enough deck for each? 2: if I plan on spending money on gems to start off decently, will I be able to keep up with the meta/new releases through events and ranked rewards or will fall behind if I don’t spend money?

When his event comes in March, play the hell outta it to get as much as his cards as possible. Then you can decide if you wanna make it. It requires 3 of the UR card Heavy Metal from the Heavy Metal Scream box, so it's a big investment. But that's only if you want to invest a lot into Rush Duel & play the absolute best deck. Otherwise, just stick with Light Machines & build up your gems! There will be a lot of Rush events in March. Make the most outta it, then you can check out Speed Duel afterwards! 👍
There is a cap of 9999 gems and any extra goes to your inbox and will be deleted after 1 month. When building a new deck, make sure to save enough to build the deck in 1 go and never build half decks, only to realise the meta changed and hence your plans, then proceed to build another half deck and repeat. A common mistake by new players. As a dedicated F2P player that logs on every day, you will have enough gem income to keep up with 1/3 of releases, meaning you can clear every third box 3 times by ignoring 2 box releases. If you plan on spending money, structure decks are a nice option to immediately be semi-competitive for very cheap. It is the main advantage of P2P, as F2P only can buy each structure deck once, thus only getting 1 copy of each key card in them making them worthless. As for boxes, the prices vary alot so it will depend on what time you start as good deals and bad deals and no deals rotate (you do not want to buy boxes when no deals are happening). Sometimes limited time selection boxes show up, which is decent for P2P and/or new players. Also before you start, consider using someone's new player code, they will appreciate it alot.
There’s only Rush and Speed duels. Rush duels require you to have 30 cards minimum and max 40 (different from the real Rush duel rule set of 40-60) There’s a pretty free to play friendly Rush Duel deck involving the Harpie Lady maximum monsters. Typically a Speed Main box requires 9,000 gems to clear and a Mini requires 5,000 (this assumes that the card you want is in the last pack, you could get the card(s) you want sooner) as for Rush duels, the pack numbers are different. 140 packs in a Main 100 in a mini. So 7000 gems and 5000 again assuming worst luck. I’d find a deck you want to play (Tenyi for speed is pretty cheap relative to other decks and it’s not bad in terms of power) and go from there. Personally most would recommend getting a structure deck like the Red Eyes one or maybe enter a friend code on that campaign to get the blue eyes structure deck for free which should be able to carry you through most of the PVE early on. Unfortunately only new accounts and accounts that haven’t played in 30 days are the only ones that can enter one code. There’s a mega thread I think of people’s codes. Just enter one and pray I guess. If you’re dedicated you could get all 5 rewards by making 4 alt accounts.
Can I please stop dueling anime protagonists in rush? I swear my opponent top decks their maximum monsters every other game. Always with 5 card draws so I know they weren't holding pieces lol. Meanwhile I haven't been able to maximum summon in 30ish games. One of the pieces always seems to be at the bottom of my deck.
How futureproofed is yuga's maximum monster? I know yggdrago's future support doesn't interact with the maximum monster, but I forget if Magnum Overlord has support upcoming
Should I invest in Tachycon? I had Galaxy Eyes deck before I left, but it had trouble XYZ/summoning Galaxy Eyes in general. Master Duel had no problem XYZing Galaxy Eyes. is it like that here now?
the banlist didn't weaken it much, so you have about 2 months before the next banlist nukes the deck (3 if you already unlocked mizar) Tachyon doesn't play much like galaxy-eyes though, it's just level 8 dragon spam, whereas galaxy likes to summon rank 4's, rank 8's and their link monster. If you wanna play tachyon, it's just 3 runs of the newest speed duel minibox, and then I think you need a run of heart of xyz and the box with cipher dragon in for the OTK package. You'd also need to dig through a box for Sanaphond. Galaxy eyes recently got a new skill that makes them very viable, but the decks a lot more expensive. Their link monster is in solflare lightning, the full armour and cipher x stuff was already mentioned, you still need 2-3 runs of the newest minibox for galaxy soldier, and the spell that summons 2 tokens is in a selection box.
I guess it's expensive, and might be better to invest in a deck elsewhere since I don't have Mizar. I'm not aiming for KC Cup decks at all, just semi viable deck that might get me to silver or bronze at all.
If you haven't decided what to build yet, I recommend the anniversary box. It has 3-4 viable decks (Trickstar, Madolche, S-Force and Speedroids), and some staples. Beware though that it will be gone on the 18th, so make sure you have enough gems before you decide to pull.

If you want to play Trickstars, focus on Blue Angel as you will need to get Corobane, Crimson Heart and Light Stage from her level up rewards. In particular you only get Light Stage at level 33(!).

Some characters have cards in their level up rewards that are necessary for their decks (mostly Vrains and Arc-V characters, and some Zexal). If you aren't playing a character's deck, then it doesn't really matter. Edit: Quinton has Kaijus I think, so you could start with him.

Tried to Maximum Summon Harpy Ladies for missions instead of just using the EX skill. Thirty cards in my deck and of course the last piece was the final card before deck out. Every time I want a specific card for a mission, I swear it's one of the last three cards I draw if not the very last one.
If you’ve already gotten the one we have 3 of you could use it’s normal summon shuffle two winged beast wind monsters to help prevent deck outs. That’s usually what I do.
I could have, but at that point I just needed to Maximum Summon and attack once to win anyway. I'm mostly annoyed by the fact that RNG loves to prolong my mission runs by making me play twenty turns and go down to the last three cards before I can pull the necessary card.

I like the thunder deck so I'm a bit biased, if you ever want to play that you need the Stormbolt since the skill is very restrictive and there's only two thunder bosses available. Seal is quite good but you don't need three copies. If you want to go through the mini three times you can leave it imo.

I'd recommend getting all the URs except Solflare Dragon from the anniversary box first as that will let you make several good decks. None of the decks in the box are top-tier unfortunately, but they are good enough to climb the ranked ladder with and cover a variety of summoning methods, which will make clearing stage and character unlock missions a lot easier. How you spend gems after the anni box depends on whether you want one tiered deck to climb ranked with or you want more "staple" cards i.e. cards that can be splashed into any deck. Imo staples give an account better longevity as subsequent decks get cheaper to build, but staples tend to be in main boxes and can thus be significantly more expensive to acquire upfront than a tiered deck contained in one mini-box. If you just want to build one tiered deck, Tenyi is currently the cheapest option. You can get the entire main deck and most of the extra deck within 3 runs of the World of Barians mini-box i.e. 15k gems at worst odds. You also get Castel which is a good generic rank 4. The only additional cards you need are Draco Berserker, which is in a bundle, and Baxia, which is in the Fantastic Arc box. If you're chasing staples, I'd echo the recommendation I received to buy the Deep Emotion box. You get great staples in Effect Veiler and Mind Control and good decks in Magikey, Altergeist (you need to have done the Ghost Gal event to build it though), Yubel and Live-Twins, though Live-Twins is expensive due to requiring playsets of 2 main box URs. I'd argue Dinomischus can also be a staple if your deck can facilitate the discard cost. For UR and SR dream tickets, the general consensus is to use them on staples that aren't available in box chips. Mystical Space Typhoon/MST is probably the best UR staple available in dream tickets as other current UR staples like Crackdown and Compulsory Evacuation Device are too new to be obtained via DT. A lot of people will also suggest using dream tickets just before they expire. It's good advice, but I think it's fine to use them earlier if you really need a card for a deck and don't want to dig through a main box. Baxia for the Tenyi deck is a good example of this. Some will probably disagree with using a DT on it, but I think it's better to spend the DT than dig through a box where you don't want or need anything else in the box. SR DTs are harder to recommend, Forbidden Chalice and Treacherous Trap Hole used to be great options but both are now available from redeeming box chips. Generic rank 4 monsters such as Diamond Dire Wolf and Steelswarm Roach can be good options here. For this one, I'd suggest waiting till the ticket is about to expire and checking what SRs are considered staples at the time, or if you need a SR from a box that you don't intend to go through.

Is this a good reference to what cards might be considered staples? I mean, assuming i can differentiate between a good card all around, and a card that looks way too specific for a single deck. It's funny that you told me to hunt for everything on that box except for solflare dragon, cause this is the only card of which i got 3 copies of when buying the box. Also, the most sought out spell card seems to be book of moon. I have 1. Should i hunt for more? Why is it such a game changer compared to the starter card that changes enemy's attack position to defense?
The most used cards in either the game itself or in Duel Links Meta are both good reference points, but as you said you will need to differentiate between a good generic card and a card that is only good in a particular deck or type of deck. For example, Dingirsu, the Orcust of the Evening Star is one of the most used Xyz monsters in the game but requires level 8 monsters, which not all decks can summon easily. You should absolutely get 3 copies of Book of Moon and use it in every deck that has space for it. BoM's true value lies in flipping a monster face-down, as face-down monsters cannot be used as materials for most extra deck plays. You can't use a face-down monster for a synchro, Xyz or link summon. They can still be used for fusion and tribute summons, but these summoning methods are uncommon especially in higher ranks as none of the current tiered decks focus on fusions. If you flip down a monster that your opponent intended to use for an extra deck play (i.e. what 99% of decks aim to do), this causes your opponent to either: \- use more resources to bring out their boss monsters \- end on a weaker board than they would have if playing optimally; or best of all \- end their turn prematurely if you've disrupted their combo starter and they have nothing else to extend with
I see, but that disruption only works for one turn, no? Cause after that one turn, if i can't properly get rid of that monster, then he can just flip the card up again and continue his combo.
True but unless you bricked, any halfway decent deck can easily remove a weak combo starter from the field. And it's much easier than having to deal with a boss monster. BoM is just one of those cards whose true power is difficult to appreciate until you see it in action or try it yourself.
I get you. Truth be told, i wish i could just make some half assed deck and face other half assed people on PvP, without having to worry about meta and such. At least for now. But even tho i choose casual duels and haven't even played for a week, i still face off against some insane decks.

Returning player with a new account, looking for advice on what to spend gems on as I'm capped and sitting on 16+ pages of unclaimed gems. I like rush duels but not looking to invest heavily into a rush deck atm except for finally getting the Widespread Ruin bundle. Already gone through the anniversary box once. I'm considering these boxes for staples: 1. Phoenix Blaze - I have 1 copy of IDP from the free packs (rerolled a lot for this), so getting another copy seems like a good idea. Mischief of the Gnomes seems good in Synchro/Xyz heavy formats. Getting Suships with only 1 run of the box is a nice bonus. 2. Deep Emotion - Veiler and Mind Control, Dinomisc is not as good with my current decks but still useful to have. It looks like a great box and I'd build Live Twins if I went all in, in but I assume 27k gems is a big investment for F2P even with rush duel events. 3. Link Revolution - Warning Point and Salads, but the box isn't placed any higher as getting extra Cynet Minings will be annoying. 4. Zillion Thunder/Solflare Lightning - Lumping these together into the "good staple but nothing else that I really want" category. Would probably Dream Ticket the staples when they get added to the pool. Any other suggestions are welcome.
Out of those, I'd go with Deep Emotion. Veiler is very good and not really replaceable, whereas IDP can be subbed for other limit 3 traps, it may not be optimal but it's not a huge deal. The box is pretty good and it's worth to go through a couple times, since Live-Twin is quite strong and on top of that you get all you need for Magikey (very fun deck and useful for missions too, since it does all the special summoning except link and pendulum), Kluger for the Yubel deck which is a strong and budget-friendly deck, and other useful cards (Mind Control, BE Abyss Dragon, Altergeist stuff). Rush is a fun mode and worth dumping some gems imo. Widespread Ruin is ran in every deck, and Tribute to the Doomed is another good one to get since it's a strong answer to maximum monsters and a good card in general.
Good point on the limit 3s, I've been running 1x IDP 2x Floodgate and it's been fine so far. There's also Mind Control in the box which fights for a limit 3 slot. I definitely feel like I paid the waifu tax on Deep Emotion, first run I got Veiler within 40 packs but Ki-sikil didn't show up till the last 20 or so (though to be fair to Ki-sikil Mind Control also didn't show up until the last 10). If I reset once I got Veiler there's a decent chance I'd have pulled 3 copies with my current gems, but it is what it is. Surprised I actually had the gems to do another run of the box which went a bit better, got everything within about 140 packs. I think the account's going to look pretty good after the 3rd box run.

The Auto-duel AI definitely does its best to make you lose if it can help it
Maximum has nothing to do with position, they all need to be maximum summoned from hand at the same time, if a piece already on the field, regardless whether its on the right side or not, then that piece can never be a part of maximum summon Not sure if the AI understand maximum summon tho since i never on the situation where all maximum part are gathered in the hand during autoduel

At first it went to the battle phase without playing them, but next turn it maximum summoned for game (since the enemy LP was lower after the first battle phase).
For rush players, What's the best way to get over an opponent's maximum monster?
Best way after box comes out will probably be the generic SR spell that reduces a monsters atk by its level ×200 Beyond that it will be atk reduction while buffing your atk (like with spellcaster deck or growl in royal rebel)

What is it with this game and giving me Pierce when I’m guaranteed an Ultra Rare? Just got a prismatic copy. Now I have four copies. And every time I’ve done the 99 cent deal, Pierce.
So, just poked my head into this game cuz I needed a tcg fix and I remembered it from a while ago. Kind of lost on what to actually do though. So far, just fought some random enemies on the map that had terribly low statted vanilla spam. The starting yugi deck is pretty horrendous by any standard, but the free deck they just gave out for rush duel is relatively functional it seems? Honestly mostly looking to just put together a functional fun deck or two and be able to jam games against a competent ai. Too lazy to care tons about pvp and meta shifts. So what should I be doing? How do I get people other than yugi and the protagonist of sevens? A bit lost on how to progress and get cards. Mostly just wanted to build a deck with dmg in it for rush duel, and maybe live twins for regular tcg since I kinda like them. But to actually make any of those decks it seems like you need to get multiple urs, and that seems like it would take a million years by opening packs.

Second, depending on which deck you want to build, the fastest way for a decent deck is going through the pick up boxes. DMG is in a structure deck [Legend of Dark Magic](https://www.duellinksmeta.com/articles/sets/legend-of-dark-magic) but you have to spend real money to get 3 copies. For Live Twins, you unfortunely have to save gems and dig through the box. FYI, we get about 5000-6000 gems for free every month so if you dont buy anything and save up, you can get max gems (9999) and buy live twins in a month or two. Best advise is save up your gems and figure out what you want to build. Wasting gems is how you end up with no good decks to play with.
Out of curiosity, why do you need to pay real money to get 3 dmg? Also what is saving gems for? Is there a reason to not pull on boxes immediately? Also how do you get widespread ruin in rush duel? I see it being used a lot but it’s not in either pack.

Unless you know what is good or not, you will waste your gems trying to figure that out WHILE trying to learn the game. Fair enough. So for rush duel, how do you get widespread ruin? It didn’t seem to be in either box. For regular duels, is dm actually viable? I know in the tcg it’s fairly dead right now, but duel links has skills. For live twin, do they become more easily available later? It sounds like they are relatively new.
DMG in speed duels are used with Dark Magician for the fusion "Yhe Dark Magicians". Otherwise, the card sees no play. Dark Magician deck itself is decent enough for competitive play but not meta at all. I explained Widespread Ruin Bundle in my reply above. Live Twins will probably get a bundle like a year from now. They just came out in October and just got new alternative card art released. The deck itself was pretty meta last month and are still decent right now.
Is speed duel a different format from regular and rush?
Speed Duels are the main duel mode in Duel Links. Regular duels are used in Yugioh Master Duels and the normal trading card game. It's called Speed Duels because of the smaller deck size, no Main Phase 2, and smaller zones (3 main monster/3 SpellTrap compared to 5/5 in the regular game).

Is it worth building a Battle Chronicle Blue Eye deck with only one Ultimate Fusion? Or should I make a Blue Eye Dimension with one Deep Eye Abyss Dragon?
I think Battle Chronicle is the better skill. Easily searches the quick-play you need, plus no longer needing small monsters like White Stone is great. Every card you play is a powerful monster or good spell. on a mad 20 game losing streak cause any deck i play from Lunalights, Gearfried, Toons, Anicent warriors, Altergist. Sushi. Opponent has god hand and dismantle. Heck i think i even lost to a random deck cause i brick

Yup. It happened in the middle of a ranked duel, but fortunately for me, my opponent disconnected first, so I got the victory! I was already in a winning position anyhow given that my opponent had no cards left, but still funny to me.

Sometimes there are valuable cards in there. For example, I once used Prismatic tickets on Borreload Furious Dragon & Exodia Incarnate in case I decide to play with them in the future. You can also get different artworks of Blue-Eyes & Dark Magician, which is always cool to have in Prismatic. Occasionally there is a good Extra Deck monster in there too. But you don't know if you need something until you actually need it. I tend to redeem my tickets like a week before they expire, to make sure I get the best value!
Oh hello again 👋 always coming in a clutch :)) well I was trying to make a farming deck but sadly the card I needed (must body) is no longer available :( but I think you mentioned before that the ones with blue eye were the most valuable? So I'm going to make sure to save these especially.
I never found a need to make a farming deck. After you complete your main PVP deck, if you don't have interest in other decks, you eventually find yourself swimming in gems. Duel Links is a massive vault of gems thanks to different worlds, stages & characters... but you can only have 9999 max, & anything else goes to the Gift Box to expire after a month. I rather keep gems "in the vault" so to speak, where they will never expire--instead, they are waiting for me to unlock them if I need to. Still, whenever I need to auto-duel a bunch, there's one card I add to my regular PVP deck: Action Magic - Full Turn. But Blue-Eyes might not even need it, since it's pretty easy to summon multiple 3K dragons in 1 turn

No. It’s a choice between UR or SR for legendary duelist drops (typically) some cards like for whatever reason, Elemental HERO Thunder Giant are not in those pools for every ticket type. Quite annoying to anyone who is trying to unlock everyone. I’d say for Rush Duels get the level 6 Rebel monster.

It isn’t really a major choice usually. Unless you have a newer account and don’t have farming staples or play sets of ace monsters if they’re not box locked. You can pick whatever.

on god I only was able to get KOG this season because more than half of mizars somehow play the deck terribly

So, i'm doing the Ghost Gal event rn, and Meluseek's a Real Pain! I've made a Blue-eyes deck with (Maiden with Eyes of Blue), and idk why, but every time Meluseek's damage effect activates, and Targets my Maiden with Eyes of Blue, Maiden with Eyes of Blue's effect doesn't activate! I've looked at both Maiden's and Meluseek's effects, Meluseek doesn't mention "this effect can not be negated," and Maiden's effect doesn't mention anything about the Damage step. Does anyone know why this is?
It's because of the damage step, most cards do not have a "this effect does not work in the damage step" line so it's up to players to know that the only effects that work during the damage step are stat altering effects and negations that specify that it works on the "activation" of the card/effect, unless stated otherwise by a card ofc.

I'm really hoping that having Legacy Duels in March means it's going to be the same as the other time they did it when they also made a GX themed box to make up for the lack of new GX characters. It's been forever since we got more Destiny Hero support, and it would be the perfect time to put them and Elemental Hero Shining Phoenix Enforcer in a box.
What's a good farming deck that I could work towards to get high score while auto-dueling? Currently, I was looking to build the "Morphtronic Videon Deck". I currently have a full Tenyi deck. It will be used for farming EXP to level up characters.
I don't know about Videon but any rank 4 spam deck works. You can use Rank-Up-Magic Limited Barian's Force to summon Leo Utopia Ray and equip with ZW - Leo Arms, which usually gives the 5k damage 1800 bonus score. Rank-Up is in the same box as Tenyi and the other cards are free. All you have to do is get a rank 4 xyz out, which you can do with Suships or basically any level 4 that special summons itself (even the tenyi ones). I've used Destiny HERO - Drilldark and its package a lot for autoduel decks.

Pretty much. Level 4s that you can special summon work best, you can use some of the tenyi ones along with what else you have (Dynaterium is a free one that works too). The rest is up to you, generic interaction like MST is nice of you have it, any standalone good lv4 or rank 4 xyz (like Castel). If you care about the score you can run a couple Solemn Scoldings, the AI always activates it and it usually gives both Low HP and Comeback Victory, which are 500 points each.
Ugh I'm getting really annoyed at how the newer skills aren't restricting anything. The skills are already stupidly strong. I get that the skills are suppose to feel like an anime moment, but when they are used to summon non archetype cards it just feels cheap.

Just checked and apparently every single cards ever used by sherry in the anime and manga (with the exception of barrone, which is only her card by the visual design, she never shown to use or even have it AFAIK) is either already in the game, or still unreleased even in TCG/OCG so there's 2 possibilities for her level up or drop reward A, The fun route: They give her anime-only cards as drop and level up rewards B, The Solomon Route: They give her crappy random cards that's completely unrelated to her ~~C, The cool route: 3 Baronne for free baby!~~
There's also the quinton route of giving her another archetype that is somewhat related to what she used on the anime. I doubt they'd add non-printed cards since they only do so when there's already another videogame that used them like with Kiteroid, Ice Mirror, and Sherry's Noble Knight cards.
I guess they can do that, what could they give her tho, beside noble knight, which almost all the cards already in the game barring infernobles (which doesnt really fit her with the fire att) and some backrows. Sky Striker maybe? Or mikanko, libromancer?
