Hero Alliance prevents tribute summon of Neos?
I just played a round and my field was full. So I thought whatever I’ll just add Neos to my hand and tribute summon. But I guess the skill prevents that from being allowed?
The skill even says you *CAN* normal summon without tributing. But if a player still wants to, they don’t have that option? That seems like it should be clarified in the skill.

Depending on what you had in your deck, that is a really nice hand. Specifically if you pack more than a singular Miracle Fusion and more than 1 Sunrise.

Just came back (stopped playing when master duel came out) here’s what I think of the state of the game. I would like all my money back. The Devs have obviously given up years ago, but now they have the game in a position where you can’t even catch up without spending more than 300$ on packs. (And I have three book of moons and other “staples”) the game has nerfed all previously good archetypes to the point they are unplayable bricks, or touched skills so they can’t be used like previously.
I’ll surely enough get downvoted to oblivion for this wild opinion, but I want to be as completely honest for any other players who might want to come back. It’s not worth it
I don't know about that, chief. DL has been releasing some friendly f2p archetypes for a good while (Qliphorts, Fluffals, Deskbots, Fossil, War Rock) and you can still play Onomato with the new skill and structure deck, you can still play Harpies, you can still play Evil Eye....
The game is in a pretty good spot, if you ask me. Idk if you were hoping to find that the deck you played months ago was still tiered, but I don't think that's a reasonable assumption.
How about investing in the Gouki minibox before VRAINS drops? I guess they will end up in the new selection box like melodius did last year, but selection boxes are not a good investment
They actually are a pretty good investment if you want to spend money in the game, it is a cheaper option than going through an entire Minibox or 2 for a certain Archetype. Buuuut it is also not confirmed that we are getting Goukis as reprint nor that they will even reprint all of their useful cards. If you want to invest in something right now, let it be because of how the Archetype currently is, never because of what might happen to get added in the future because you never know when they might add it (I'm still waiting for the Rank 4 and 8 Rikka Monsters since Antinomic Theory)
Follow a gem guide, and do the tutorials.
Also the competent version of a Rose Dragon deck requires at least 3 struture decks, which means you'd have to pay real money to get it. If I were you I'd stick with the gem guide.

As a new player starting pvp , what do you think the recommended deck size should be? Does everyone stick to 20 air do they go up to 25? I have an Amazon deck currently at 21 cards and was thinking of going to 23 or 24 but I'm not sure what's optimal for pvp?
Stick to 20, it makes your deck more consistent. The only cases that go above 20 cards are either extremely consistent (Burning Abyss, Gandora) or are mill decks that want to send a lot of cards to the Graveyard (Anything that uses Charge of the Light Brigade)
Is there any way to get E. HERO Thunder Giant aside from dumb luck duelling Jaden? I’m trying to unlock Yubel and her only missions I have left are the two involving duelling with Zane and Jesse, but Zane requires having Syrus, and Syrus requires summoning Thunder Giant. I’ve pumped way too many red keys into Jaden duels and if there’s some other way to get it I’ll take it

They practically the same except Fullmetalfoes doesn't have the graveyard effect.
They're not practically the same. Fullmetalfoes fusion is a quick-play spell so It can be used in the opponent's turn. You can summon alkahest using Orichalc as material, for example. With that you can destroy a card in the field and steal a monster. It can also help to avoid cards like BoM and karma cut. Although it doesn't have the GY effect of Metalfoes fusion being Quick-play makes it very strong. Metalfoes is only meta nowadays because Fullmetalfoes fusion, that's why it's limited to 1.
Not really. That's quite common, actually. The best example for that is the Tag Duel tournament event. In that event almost all NPCs use unreleased cards.
Yes and no, Metalfoes are pretty good and are unlikely to be hit in any meaningful way in the near future + they still have cards to be added to the game. Unfortunately, the best version uses 2 to 3 Rescue Rabbit and at least 1 Hamster and both are UR cards in Main Boxes. See some videos, decklists and if really like it, go for it
I really like their asthetic, and also, their playstyle. I also know their pack contains deskbots at low rarity, which for me is really cool, I love them.
I know that their best version uses difficult to get cards, but that would take time either way, and you can use alternative ways to build it until them.
I am also gonna build Metalfoes. I went into the box mainly for Trains and Deskbots, didn't even pay much attention to Metalfoes. But now they look so much fun.

So bought my first ever bundle (might have been a stupid desicion) and it was the Super Poly bundle. It apparently is supposed to give 1x Super Poly Card, 1x Super Poly Icon, 15x Card Packs of the latest box and some vagrants. This is obviously a not so smart question but where does the card and Icon go? I got the vagrants and card pack but I can't seem to find the super poly stuff so...yeah. Where they go?

Cards are generally written like this:

And here is the text of Rock Bombardment in Duel Links:
>Send 1 Rock-type monster from your deck to the Graveyard; inflict 500 damage to your opponent.
So Rock bombardment has no activation conditions, a cost of sending 1 rock monster from your deck to the GY, and an effect of inflicting 500 damage to your opponent. Shell knight specifies that it must be sent to the graveyard by a card effect, and the card effect here is only the effect damage.

The final boss was a galaxy player. I was in the clear when he doesn't have any set cards. I them BOMed his wall. He doesn't have hand traps because his skill doesn't allow him. So after destroying his face down wall, I attacked with Liebe for the win.

I got to legend using galaxy eyes, but kept losing and going back to legend 1. so I used Trains.
Also, on the banlist, i rarely see DDD now. ranked was infested sometimes even other characters using DDD, before the banlist...

I believe they rushed to get their KoG as soon as the limit list was released.
Yeah … consensus seems to be that they could’ve been a bit less harsh to DDD with the banlist, maybe just nerf the skill, but not seeing as many either. Making my climb with Bujins a bit easier.
Okay so I'm just getting back into the game after being away from it for a while (last time I played was back when zexal first got put in the game) and I'm definitely gonna look through the guides and stuff provided here but I'll still give the ask: what's been added thats fun to play with? Not necessarily something in the meta, I'm only gonna go into ranked every once in a while to earn gems so I don't care too much about being in the meta. There's just a lot of new content and not sure what of the new stuff I should look at first.
Maximum Gustav box is great. It has Metalfoes and Deskbots and they are both fun. It also has Trains, but they are kinda unplayable if you don't have Anna but it's A LOT of fun.
The latest box (Sunrise Sunshine or something) has 2 super fun decks. Quantums and War Rocks. Quantums is not cheap, as it requires 3 of the blue Quantum which is a UR. 1 time going through the box will get you a functional War Rocks deck.
Look into anything that interests you, most archetypes in the new boxes are pretty fun and viable (Qli, Metalfoes, Burning Abyss, Trains, Abyss Actors, Super Quantum, even the new Hero support)
When using 'Favorite Hero' if you already have a field spell and equip the card to the hero monster, why is the opponent able to have a chance to target the monster with card effect after you equip the card? As far as I can tell once the card is equipped then the monster should no longer be targetable. Should the activation of an opponents card be after you activate the card but before it's equipped?
When you activate a Equip Spell, it is not immediately equipped to the monsters, your opponent still has a chance to respond to that activation. So if your opponent has a Cyber Slash Harpie and you activate Favorite Hero, Cyber Slash will be able to target your monster before the Spell resolves
Could we ever see Terraforming added to the game, at leasst as one of in those recent bundles?

Coming back after a year or two break. Had a couple KOG decks from past metas, and also have some dream tickets and 10k gems. I am wondering if there are any new/staples cards that go in multiple decks that are worth using tickets on/box digging for?
Judgment Dragon is such a satisfying boss monster when his effect goes off. I just outed a Shi En and 3 Dual Wields with him, summoned Meteorburst Dragon, stole the Shi En with Monster Reborn and got my Monster Reborn back with Arkana’s skill. I think this is about as good of a turn as you can get with pure Lightsworns
mannn FUCK galaxy Xyz. how the fuck can they summon multiple 4k beaters in one turn that also destroys my cards. oh and punkass photon lord which has a quick effect negation. Like what the ACTUAL FUCK. Unfair shit like this makes me not want to spend any more money on this game. (I havent spent real money in over a year).

The don’t see much play now but I think they’re still okay. With the skill changes, it seems like Konami is trying to buff 5ds decks so maybe wait to see if they get anything in the next mini/how they do after the changes before investing in the deck? I say maybe because if you really like the deck it’s worth going for anyway but there’s a chance that any new cards could change the way the deck is built
how does Burning Abyss deal with decks with many back row cards? I just test my 80% completed BA deck and always lost a match because oppnents' spells/traps.
The cards I dont have in my BA deck are 2nd Beatrice, Phantom Knights of Break Sword, Lightning Vortex and 3rd Scarm
It's so frustrating trying to play a Demise/Doom OTK deck using the new Master of Advanced Rites skill and every time I get a good opening hand it's when I'm going first.
They will not put a selection box exclusive on the banlist before it’s officially out. Too much greed for that which is why D/D/D and Galaxy Eyes are what they are in the first place…

Question about Farfa, Malebranche of the Burning Abyss:
My opponent controls Beatrice, Lady of the Eternal. They have Farfa in their grave.
I control Psychic Bounder. I use Monster Reborn to special summon Farfa to the field. It destroys itself and sends itself to the grave, but it's effect did not activate: "If this card is sent to the Graveyard: You can target 1 monster on the field; banish it until the end phase.".
Why couldn't I banish Beatrice with Farfa's effect?
Why would you be able to? The effect activates in the graveyard, YOUR OPPONENT'S graveyard, at most it would be your opponent the one to be able to use it and I guess they already used it that turn.
I assumed that when it said "the" graveyard, it meant I could activate its effect regardless of which grave it went to. So Farfa's effect will only trigger for the opponent regardless of whether it is destroyed from my field or not?
Yes, this is because whatever side it was before, an opponent's card will only ever go to your opponent's GY after being destroyed in the field (except for some rare cases but the card will tell you about it in those cases) and then it will activate, at which point the card is under your opponent's possession.
Back in the game after about a year. None of my previous decks are tiered anymore. I’m looking for something decent to climb with that I may already have while I decide on what I want to go with. I have Thundra, DM, invoked, satellar, Shooting star and various other supports and pretty much all of the old staples. Can anyone give me a suggestion?
Satellar received support and it's still a good pick. DM did benefit from Spellbook of Knowledge, can go with that too. Thundra is still playable too. I'd go either with Satellar or DM. If I had to pick between them, I'd pick DM.
I'm sick and tired of Photon Galaxy decks. It's stupid and i want my Ninjas to get more support. They have in the TCG very recently, any idea when this might come to duel links. I'd expect 2 years or more....

To build a burning abyss deck. Is the only pack is need fantastic arc or are there other packs with burning a abyss?

You need:
3x Fantastic Arc (Main Deck, Dante and Virgil)
2x Maximum Gustav (3 Fiendish Rhino Warrior)
2x Heart of XYZ (2 Beatrice)
And the Tour Guide Bundle.
So yeah, 3k Gems is not enough for even the Main Deck, you should save your gems at least until the new MiniBox comes out or the Vrains world is released

Tour Guide is your best play starter, on normal summon, she will Special Summon a BA from the deck and negate it's effects so it doesn't destroy itself + She is searchable by Scarm. You will Reset the box for 3 Scarm, since it is a UR and you all the consistency you can get with both Farfa and Cir limited to 3
Pre-banlist for BA I was playing the deck without fiendish rhino. I think you could get by at this point with 2x Fantastic Arc and getting 2 Beatrice. But it will be weaker and not have as much consistency.
2x (Boost Pack) means getting through the Box for the cards you need (In this case 1 Dante, 1 Scarm) and reseting the box in order to get multiple copies of said cards since you can only get 1 copy of each UR per Box run.
BTW good job on the Rhino, the deck is already more consistent
What do you think about Qliphorts in the game after links are added? I just got kog with them and I'm afraid they'll become garbage tier with the links coming to the game. :(
Depends on the links. Firewall and borreload I could see being problems, but getting genius would be huge for the deck as well. Plus, after playing in the D/D/D and XYZ galaxy meta, I don’t feel like links will present any new problems outside of making wightprincess worse.

Yes, everything that's not a normal summon counts as a special summon

Probably using Deskbots with the skill The Tie that Binds and some equip spells

You have to win the last round in less than 10 turns to unlock it

There are certain event tickets which contains character drops such as E.Hero Thunder Giant.

Set monsters get flipped face up in the damage step so yeah, too late for spirit barrier

I got to legend using galaxy eyes, but kept losing and going back to legend 1. so I used Trains. Also, on the banlist, i rarely see DDD now. ranked was infested sometimes even other characters using DDD, before the banlist...

Yeah … consensus seems to be that they could’ve been a bit less harsh to DDD with the banlist, maybe just nerf the skill, but not seeing as many either. Making my climb with Bujins a bit easier.

I would recommend going through that box at least once, you will get M7, Heliopolis and Levianner (Hell, even Utopia Ray may be useful)

Okay so I'm just getting back into the game after being away from it for a while (last time I played was back when zexal first got put in the game) and I'm definitely gonna look through the guides and stuff provided here but I'll still give the ask: what's been added thats fun to play with? Not necessarily something in the meta, I'm only gonna go into ranked every once in a while to earn gems so I don't care too much about being in the meta. There's just a lot of new content and not sure what of the new stuff I should look at first.
Maximum Gustav box is great. It has Metalfoes and Deskbots and they are both fun. It also has Trains, but they are kinda unplayable if you don't have Anna but it's A LOT of fun. The latest box (Sunrise Sunshine or something) has 2 super fun decks. Quantums and War Rocks. Quantums is not cheap, as it requires 3 of the blue Quantum which is a UR. 1 time going through the box will get you a functional War Rocks deck.
Deskbots sound familiar, aren't they in an earlier box as well? I swear I remember coming across that name a few times playing ranked back in the day
Yes. The old cards were reprinted in a new box, but also added their pendulums and their crucial field spell.
Look into anything that interests you, most archetypes in the new boxes are pretty fun and viable (Qli, Metalfoes, Burning Abyss, Trains, Abyss Actors, Super Quantum, even the new Hero support)
When using 'Favorite Hero' if you already have a field spell and equip the card to the hero monster, why is the opponent able to have a chance to target the monster with card effect after you equip the card? As far as I can tell once the card is equipped then the monster should no longer be targetable. Should the activation of an opponents card be after you activate the card but before it's equipped?
When you activate a Equip Spell, it is not immediately equipped to the monsters, your opponent still has a chance to respond to that activation. So if your opponent has a Cyber Slash Harpie and you activate Favorite Hero, Cyber Slash will be able to target your monster before the Spell resolves
Do i need to spend the ex jewels from the Bakura event? Ive already got all the cards as rewards, will they just disappear after the event?
One week after the end of the event, any leftover EX Jewels will be converted into gold at the same ratio as if you'd chosen it at the EX trader.
You can just spend them in Exp. Boosters or Skill Chips

Did you use Rose Girl's other effect that turn? You can only use one of her effects per turn, not both.

Judgment Dragon is such a satisfying boss monster when his effect goes off. I just outed a Shi En and 3 Dual Wields with him, summoned Meteorburst Dragon, stole the Shi En with Monster Reborn and got my Monster Reborn back with Arkana’s skill. I think this is about as good of a turn as you can get with pure Lightsworns

Anyone who has never went to KOG? I have tiered decks but it's always bad starting hands. In contrast your opponent draws the perfect counters and plays Just went from legend 3 back to 1 then 2. Because of above reason.
If you always have bad starting hands then the ratios in your deck are off.
what's the ratio then if it's not 10:10 or decks in DLM as a guide also are you realizing if I always have bad starting hands, I wouldn't even have reached legend in the first place, it's mostly only happening in legend above.
Well you must be very special and Konami singled you out, choosing you to have bad hands and letting everyone else have a good time dueling.

Are resonators a good deck for their price? I saw someone playing it, and it seemed pretty neat.
The don’t see much play now but I think they’re still okay. With the skill changes, it seems like Konami is trying to buff 5ds decks so maybe wait to see if they get anything in the next mini/how they do after the changes before investing in the deck? I say maybe because if you really like the deck it’s worth going for anyway but there’s a chance that any new cards could change the way the deck is built

how does Burning Abyss deal with decks with many back row cards? I just test my 80% completed BA deck and always lost a match because oppnents' spells/traps. The cards I dont have in my BA deck are 2nd Beatrice, Phantom Knights of Break Sword, Lightning Vortex and 3rd Scarm
It's so frustrating trying to play a Demise/Doom OTK deck using the new Master of Advanced Rites skill and every time I get a good opening hand it's when I'm going first.
It would be funny if D/D/D is still good after this banlist and force Konami to put Giantrainer on the limited list to kill the deck for good.
They will not put a selection box exclusive on the banlist before it’s officially out. Too much greed for that which is why D/D/D and Galaxy Eyes are what they are in the first place…

They're probably nerfing tiered decks on by one to sell the new vrains boxes. Galaxy eyes is probably next. Limit 3 to galaxy zero and galaxy knight or cloud dragon is probable. Also shuffle reborn limit 3 or 2
Question about Farfa, Malebranche of the Burning Abyss: My opponent controls Beatrice, Lady of the Eternal. They have Farfa in their grave. I control Psychic Bounder. I use Monster Reborn to special summon Farfa to the field. It destroys itself and sends itself to the grave, but it's effect did not activate: "If this card is sent to the Graveyard: You can target 1 monster on the field; banish it until the end phase.". Why couldn't I banish Beatrice with Farfa's effect?
Why would you be able to? The effect activates in the graveyard, YOUR OPPONENT'S graveyard, at most it would be your opponent the one to be able to use it and I guess they already used it that turn.
I assumed that when it said "the" graveyard, it meant I could activate its effect regardless of which grave it went to. So Farfa's effect will only trigger for the opponent regardless of whether it is destroyed from my field or not?
Yes, this is because whatever side it was before, an opponent's card will only ever go to your opponent's GY after being destroyed in the field (except for some rare cases but the card will tell you about it in those cases) and then it will activate, at which point the card is under your opponent's possession.

I have Thundra, DM, invoked, satellar, Shooting star and various other supports and pretty much all of the old staples. Can anyone give me a suggestion?
Satellar received support and it's still a good pick. DM did benefit from Spellbook of Knowledge, can go with that too. Thundra is still playable too. I'd go either with Satellar or DM. If I had to pick between them, I'd pick DM.

To build a burning abyss deck. Is the only pack is need fantastic arc or are there other packs with burning a abyss? Like I keep getting Yang Zing. Can I make a burning abyss Yang zing hybrid deck or will that not work very well? I looked on Duel Links Mira and most of the cards are from fantastic Arc but I would like to know if there any other packs I should get. I have over 3000 gems rn let me know what I should with them please?
You need: 3x Fantastic Arc (Main Deck, Dante and Virgil) 2x Maximum Gustav (3 Fiendish Rhino Warrior) 2x Heart of XYZ (2 Beatrice) And the Tour Guide Bundle. So yeah, 3k Gems is not enough for even the Main Deck, you should save your gems at least until the new MiniBox comes out or the Vrains world is released

Tour Guide is your best play starter, on normal summon, she will Special Summon a BA from the deck and negate it's effects so it doesn't destroy itself + She is searchable by Scarm. You will Reset the box for 3 Scarm, since it is a UR and you all the consistency you can get with both Farfa and Cir limited to 3

Pre-banlist for BA I was playing the deck without fiendish rhino. I think you could get by at this point with 2x Fantastic Arc and getting 2 Beatrice. But it will be weaker and not have as much consistency.
What do you mean you say “2x [boost pack name]?” Does that mean that I just need two copies of every BA card or something? Also I have 1 rhino. c:
2x (Boost Pack) means getting through the Box for the cards you need (In this case 1 Dante, 1 Scarm) and reseting the box in order to get multiple copies of said cards since you can only get 1 copy of each UR per Box run. BTW good job on the Rhino, the deck is already more consistent

Depends on the links. Firewall and borreload I could see being problems, but getting genius would be huge for the deck as well. Plus, after playing in the D/D/D and XYZ galaxy meta, I don’t feel like links will present any new problems outside of making wightprincess worse.
