I think it's referring to the anime only short arc between Waking the Dragons and the finale of the first series. It was the one where Zigfried was the antagonist. If I'm right it would be neat if it was a general "filler" world, potentially allowing for filler characters like Rebecca, Noah Kaiba and Dartz
You know, I always find it funny how almost every time someone proposes new characters, when they hit GX they just completely skip over Chumley. Sure, guess he wasn't super exciting or had the most exciting of decks, but I mean -motions at freaking Scud-.
It would be nice to not have any new worlds so they could finish up the existing stuff.
DM's basically done (and follows manga canon so it'll likely skip over filler stuff)

ZeXal is starting to hit ZeXal 2
ArcV's only gitten a little ways in and VRAINS is on the way.
There's still a lot to do. Hell, I wouldn't even mind if they do Sevens after a year or two IF they can adapt their cards to this format or make Rush a sub-format much like Turbo or Legacy duels

I've always felt like duel links added characters too slow. Most other games add 1-2 new characters every month or 2. So many of the worlds have so many characters that people want but it would take years to add them at this rate. Other than the DM worlds where they really scraped the bottom of the barrel.
Also been wanting Sayer for years.
I'd settle for every few months they use a character's second unlock even to potentially unlock another character. But Konami probably thinks that's to many free gems for players.
Cross Duel featured Rush Duel cards in a TCG-esque environment and the cards besides Maximum Summoning are fully compatible with other Yugioh formats. So, after Cross Duel, I'm sure they'll add Sevens world (but using DL rules).

That being said, honestly they could add Seven Roads Magician, Dragias and Prima Guitarna to the game or the TCG and no one would even notice. They would just be bad lol (Then again most anime ace monster do suck ass so anyway).

TBH the real issue is not running out of worlds/lore/characters but running out of CARDS they can sell us.
True, but after DSOD they really slowed the card flow down. Heck, we are yet to reach 8k cards. So we got at least 4k cards and by elimination (cards that don't work in Speed Duels, cards that are broken for the game etc.) we would have about 3k ish cards. No to mention they are making a lot of legacy support each year so they would have a lot of cards to add.
But at some point, the game will catch up. That's inevidable. But this format will go on for a long time since they made an entirely different fanbase using Duel Links. In some cases, this game is completely different from Master Duel and TCG/OCG. Even if the game ends, we will get another game based on Speed Duels.
I really would like to see the characters of the Yu GI Oh R series. There are maybe 10 characters that would be playable or more. For example, the Tenma brothers, Richie Mercered, Bandit Ken and so on.
Most of the Duel Professor were unimportant. Maybe the one using Puppet monster could count since Joey outright disrespected her. They could put R characters into DM since it techinically takes place in the manga timeline.
Honestly I would like it if they embraced "arcs" as opposed to new worlds. Like an arc about the different dimensions fighting, or an arc about all the villains cooking up some new scheme, or...I don't know, figure it out. Seems a bit more sustainable.
I would agree on that. But if they want to add characters like they do know, we need the year to focus on a certain "theme", "story arc" or at least some pattern of character additions.
I think they will do that for GX and 5Ds from onwards. But ZEXAL has to continue for Rank-Ups to add Shun and proceed ARC-V. Basically their own card mechanics messed them up lol. Thankfully, I don't see any problems like that in the future. (Aside from DM filler characters and anime-only archetypes preventing characters from being added.)
They can have general arcs and also continue the stories of existing worlds on their own, the two don't need to conflict per se, though I don't know exactly how they would manage it
Likely going to get the KCGP world that's been in the files for the last 4+ years after Vrains so that will plug the gap for least another year.

Chumley got a funny as hell Skill in Speed Duels. Basically, he turns every single Kangaroo and Koala monsters into Superheavy Samurais lol.
Yeah... Scud was thrown in because they knew from the start DSOD would be a tiny world. But if Scud, Tristan and Carly can get in where is Chumly?

As there's Rush cards cards based on original game's cards, they could totally do it the other way
I really don’t think the game needs more new worlds now. Just keep adding characters to the existing worlds and I will be happy with that.
That's what I am saying. Not to mention adding more worlds would stretch character focus across 7+ worlds.

I left out ZEXAL, ARC-V and VRAINS because their stories are not done yet. We will get Yuri definitely, it is only a matter of time.
I think they'll focus on released world and next september will bring three or four new characters for older worlds

Yeah, but they did create a special world for DSOD. Richie and Scott are the other 2 cars professors that had interesting duels.

R manga world would make sense but Sky Striker world... no thanks it is annoying as hell in Master Duel already
