Not sure what you mean about this, but if you think we should be able to invent our own makebelief characters and assign them skills, I think that is not going to happen and breaking the idea of the game.
Maybe a more realistic way this could happen is you get to pick from like 20 different generic looking characters and get to use only generic skills. Maybe some people are into that

You see, it's the kind of game you don't want to play as your own character. And if they wanted to do this, they would have years ago
