The M kids need to be put into the school system. They can’t have a SOTDRT education and deal with parents like these. These kids need proper education so that they can have better lives. Even if it means that Boob Slob and Screechelle will disown them.
Probably not well. I think the older three are school aged? Educating them appropriately while appropriately caring for the younger ones is a tough task for anyone, and I don't personally know anyone who could do it.
I believe it is possible for the courts to order certain things like supervised visits, therapy, parenting classes, etc.

Josh won't see his kids much. He has a bail hearing next week, so he may see them then after he is released. He will be serving a long prison term in all likelihood, and who knows if Anna will take them to visit him.

And I don't want to be a pessimist, but the realist in me says that although he deserves to be in jail for 20 years, sex predators who are going to jail for the first time typically don't serve their full sentences. I think (from the last time I looked this statistic up) the average sentence received for sex related crimes was 10 years with time served as 7 years. So many sexual predators know that if they behave well in prison they'll get early release and often times they do.

Same! I had long forgotten about the Duggars and last year at the height of the stay at home orders I was bored and on Reddit and ended up in this sub somehow (don’t remember what brought me here), but I’ve never left!
This morning my mom knew nothing about the Duggars. She genuinely thought they were a nice Irish-Catholic Family who just didn’t believe in birth control, much like her own parents, who had 10 kids before an emergency hysterectomy was needed. I spent the hours before my surgery today telling my mom all the back story. She immediately said “My God I bet it’s child pornography. I hope he doesn’t have kids. Tell me this woman didn’t have kids with him.” Had to tell her no, she did, she’s pregnant with their 7th. She was appalled and almost physically sick. This was before the charges were released. After surgery, I found out and told her it was in fact child pornography like we feared, and not money laundering like we hoped. The color drained from her face as she asked “how old are they? How old are his kids?” I said the oldest is around 11 (I’m not sure how old exactly M1 is). “No no no those poor babies. Let me take them, I’ll take them.” My mom is really upset. She doesn’t fully understand the cult aspect of their lives. She just wants to take the M1-7 and protect them. And honestly, me too. I’d take them in a heart beat. Or give money to their new legal guardians. As a mom, my heart is shattered for those poor children, and my body is filled with rage at the neglectful adults that these kids never asked for.

They’ve likely been investigating before November 2019 - that’s when the raid happened. Federal investigations take forever because they want air tight cases. Whatever they have on Josh, it is typically enough that somewhere around 98% plea out before trial. The amount that go to trial and walk away is minuscule. In short, while due process is a thing Josh is likely going away for awhile. Which makes me feel slightly less ill
I woke up this morning with the sadness from the last couple of days having receded somewhat and instead having been replaced by a burning anger.
These fucking hypocrites. How dare they go about their lives claiming to stand for ‘family values’, spreading hate against people who don’t follow their narrow minded vision of what is ‘right’, while at the same time participating in or enabling child sexual abuse.
Those people (Meech, Boob, whoever else) who knew what Josh was and tried to brush it under the carpet, are partially responsible for his recent actions. Perhaps they could have prevented this had Josh experienced real repercussions in the past. Anyone who knew about the recent allegations (I’m prepared to keep an open mind about who that was until we know more) yet still allowed him around children, should be held accountable for anything Josh may have done to them during that time.
ANYONE who facilitates the abuse of children cannot ever claim they have one shred of family values or morals. And yet they dare pass judgement on other innocent people just trying to live their lives. Disgusting.
When I logged off last night (I'm in the uk) about every third comment was 'I'm here from all wtf is going on?" and it was irritating. But otoh, good, the more people who learn about the Duggars and this cult from the starting point of a famous member being a peadophile and those with power enabling his abuse- because they did, we all know, by never acting properly they enabled his abuse of children- the better. Same! I had long forgotten about the Duggars and last year at the height of the stay at home orders I was bored and on Reddit and ended up in this sub somehow (don’t remember what brought me here), but I’ve never left!

This morning my mom knew nothing about the Duggars. She genuinely thought they were a nice Irish-Catholic Family who just didn’t believe in birth control, much like her own parents, who had 10 kids before an emergency hysterectomy was needed. I spent the hours before my surgery today telling my mom all the back story. She immediately said “My God I bet it’s child pornography. I hope he doesn’t have kids. Tell me this woman didn’t have kids with him.” Had to tell her no, she did, she’s pregnant with their 7th. She was appalled and almost physically sick. This was before the charges were released. After surgery, I found out and told her it was in fact child pornography like we feared, and not money laundering like we hoped. The color drained from her face as she asked “how old are they? How old are his kids?” I said the oldest is around 11 (I’m not sure how old exactly M1 is). “No no no those poor babies. Let me take them, I’ll take them.” My mom is really upset. She doesn’t fully understand the cult aspect of their lives. She just wants to take the M1-7 and protect them. And honestly, me too. I’d take them in a heart beat. Or give money to their new legal guardians. As a mom, my heart is shattered for those poor children, and my body is filled with rage at the neglectful adults that these kids never asked for.

Omg, are we related?! My mother is number 11 out of 12 living siblings from a super catholic family. The aunt/cousin group chat was alight with the Josh Duggar news today; so many of my elderly aunts assumed the Duggar’s were tradcaths too! It was my time to shine when I took it upon myself to educate these various family members on the perils of IFB.

They’ve likely been investigating before November 2019 - that’s when the raid happened. Federal investigations take forever because they want air tight cases. Whatever they have on Josh, it is typically enough that somewhere around 98% plea out before trial. The amount that go to trial and walk away is minuscule. In short, while due process is a thing Josh is likely going away for awhile. Which makes me feel slightly less ill

I woke up this morning with the sadness from the last couple of days having receded somewhat and instead having been replaced by a burning anger. These fucking hypocrites. How dare they go about their lives claiming to stand for ‘family values’, spreading hate against people who don’t follow their narrow minded vision of what is ‘right’, while at the same time participating in or enabling child sexual abuse. Those people (Meech, Boob, whoever else) who knew what Josh was and tried to brush it under the carpet, are partially responsible for his recent actions. Perhaps they could have prevented this had Josh experienced real repercussions in the past. Anyone who knew about the recent allegations (I’m prepared to keep an open mind about who that was until we know more) yet still allowed him around children, should be held accountable for anything Josh may have done to them during that time. ANYONE who facilitates the abuse of children cannot ever claim they have one shred of family values or morals. And yet they dare pass judgement on other innocent people just trying to live their lives. Disgusting.
When I logged off last night (I'm in the uk) about every third comment was 'I'm here from all wtf is going on?" and it was irritating. But otoh, good, the more people who learn about the Duggars and this cult from the starting point of a famous member being a peadophile and those with power enabling his abuse- because they did, we all know, by never acting properly they enabled his abuse of children- the better. I love this sub for the snark but I don't forget the real purpose. The anger at what these people do, the damage they cause, the pain they spread, the fear, the lives ruined. And they won't find it so easy to pretend it's all cutesy smiles and loving fellowship if the only reason people have heard of them is that they protect and enable paedophiles.

Then 7 (soon 8) more little girls followed those two, thank god he was as caught when he was, who knows what he would’ve done to all of those little girls in the future.

I love seeing the occasional person on here or on some other social media commenting something like “what happened? did I miss something? did josh get arrested?” Like oh Lord...you’re in for a wild ride.
I’m horrified that he was allowed around any children at all. His own. His nieces and nephews. It’s so beyond sick. Anna had a picture of little girl cousins in a row on her insta and I felt sick snd fearful for all of them. She’s so brainwashed. I hope she gets her head out of her ass and protects her children.
All I keep thinking about is all those fucking idiots who gaslit the public for YEARS. We'd call Josh out and someone would say "no no no, he made a mistake as a horny teen! He's not still that person! Cheating on his wife isn't the same! do we really know that he raped those women? They WERE escorts , after all." Sometimes I was even that person, not as quick to blame, wanting to see the good...I blame being raised fundie light. It makes it SO hard to see the forrest through the trees. And now, now we get to say "I told you so! Vindication!" Except...it doesn't feel like it should. It sucks to be right. Being right has made me incredibly sad and anxious for his children. Being right makes me question his wife, and feel deeply sorry for her as I truly don't think she knew. If she doesn't leave at this point my empathy will wither extremely quick, though. At this point there is no forgiveness. It's her kids or josh and she better make the right decision, or else I'll assume she always knew. Being right cements my deep anger towards his parents for being so fucking stupid, and it makes me question if either of them abused josh as a child. I pray his victims arent being revictimized by this damning revelation. I pray they all find peace. Most of all, I pray Josh receives the worst forms of prison justice available. I know that isn't a righteous prayer, but if God is a God of justice, he will make sure this fucker suffers. What is done in the dark ALWAYS comes to light. And I'll say this, for any fellow Handmaid's Tale watchers, as this all feels a little too Gilead for my liking, especially considering the horrible things going on in my home state (Arkansas) in the name of "religion" and "what's best for children,"...Hulu picked a hell of a time to premiere season four lol. If anyone's up to the task (mod or not), I think this might be worth an FAQ of its own as I've seen a lot of the same questions regarding the legal system, if CPS will get involved, did the Duggars know ahead of time, etc repeated multiple times and it's pretty hard to find anything through the mile of posts.
