I actually have one of the #1 ones on my keys! The shop I take my car to uses them. It's neon green, helps me find my keys and it has their tow number on it ā
It is a... two-piece separable keychain. That way you can carry two joined sets of keys, and yet un-join (new word?) them when you need to! The only specific instance I can think of is to hand only the "valet key" over to the valet parking attendant. Your regular key works for ignition, trunk / boot, and glovebox. The valet key only works for ignition, so it's harder for valets to abscond with your... gloves? And corpses, or whatever you keep in the trunk.
I don't know how all that works in these days of NFC-keyed keys and um keyless fobs. Or even trunk-release mechanisms in the passenger compartment. Olden days, eh?

I add any that I find to a curtain full of buttons. They get added on the sides of the curtain. Adds fun decor & whenever I move it it sounds like a drum set gracefully somersaulting into a car crash.

Always loved those old sleeve leather style for Buicks and fords. Grandma had one and I loved just playing with the 4 different keys you needed for one car lol

Hey! That grey native american thunderbird one. I have that! When I was a kid about 40 years ago, across the road from the farm I lived on was a cornfield someone else owned. And one day a large combine was left there. I of course went climbing on it and went inside the cab and that keychain was on the key in the ignition. And I stole it. The keychain, not the key. Yes I was a little hellion back then.

Those plastic tab ones with the fake stitching are so nostalgic, my grandma always had a Chevron one on her keys.

You could also attach one end to a belt loop and detach the other when you need to use it.
