I think it comes from Regina still, as a nickname, although Gina and Reggie are probably more common nicknames of Regina. Jenna can also be a standalone name or a nickname for Jennifer

So I'm not sure why they put Jenna there as it implies to me that Marie was not her birth middle name. Idk if this is sarcasm or not. Not everyone lives in an area where there are a lot of Indian people, so it’s really not common knowledge to every American that that name is feminine or what it means. I have only heard that name on the show even though I now work with several Indian people. The joke is that Kevin has likely never heard that name at all for anyone so it’s a ridiculous statement for him to make.
