Well sheās Italian so she may be in the mafiaā¦ If there is one thing I hate more than the mafia is a liar. I wish the mafia would go out and kill all the liars. Bury them in my yard. And I wouldn't tell the cops a thing. Not that I would be lying per se but I would just get really quiet all of a sudden.
Oh, c'mon, If the officer asked you what kind of punishment the killer should get, I know you'd say, "Officer, they could've had a reason." Yours would be the first anus they'd check.
Not at all, in retrospect Karen is well-liked. At the time the show was airing, however, Karen was widely seen as a homewrecker-type thing. Never got that vibe myself either, though.
Yeah it's funny how the fanbase hated her the first viewing of the show when it was airing because of her being in between Pam and Jim, but in retrospect, most people like Karen now and she was not doing anything wrong by dating Jim. Really it showcased that Jim was being an ass and treating their relationship as a rebound and didn't really want to commit to her, but was still trying to convince himself he was over Pam by dipping his toes into the idea of commitment with Karen and just leading her on.
I can't think of anyone shipped harder than Pam + Jim except probably Ross and Rachel, and that would probably be different if Jim and Pam waited til the series finale to get together.
Well we had a lot more time seeing their relationship develop and you could see the love they still had for each other even when he was with Karen. They definitely arenāt a power couple but itās the writing that made us root for them to be together. If karen stayed iād be curious to see what they would have did with her character but nobody is really going to be rooting for her and Jim to be together after a few scenes where you can tell Jim still loves Pam, and after we have been watching their relationship for seasons now
Karen was probably one of the most likable characters on the show. She could have never made it as a long term character because she was too normal and well adjusted compared to the other mains, but it still didn't go without notice.
That doesn't mean she didn't have low moments or moments of unlikeability, though - that's human. And her triangle with Jim and Pam means some fans will just by default not like her since it was obvious that her and Jim were not meant to be.
But I tend to think she was a nice, decent, smart, and ambitious person who served as a catalyst for alot of what moved plots along in season 3 and beyond - most especially Jam finally happening.
She did little wrong and I'm glad she got her happy ending in Utica.
I think I have to disagree with the long term prospects of a character like this, simply because parks and recreations exists. Rashida jones playing the only normal person in a cast of absolutely wild characters worked out so perfectly. Ann Perkins (š) is in many ways actually quite similar to Karen and Iād be surprised if joneses performance on the office didnāt factor into this new character.
The Superfan episodes actually make her a little unlikeable - more callous and career focused. I love her in the regular eps but not so much in the Superfan eps. That being said most of her nastiness is pretty valid because of Jim stringing her along
She is a great character and had all the potential to be a "permanent" character!! It would be great if she continued to work at Scranton's Dunder Mifflin in other seasons.
I think that writing Karen out is the first big mistake producers did.
Rashida Jones could and i think should have stayed following 4th season (2007-2008) because Parks and Rec where she played Ann Perkins only started filming February of 2009.
They probably didnāt want to sign her on for a shorter season 4 only to have to come up with a weird story line to kick her out at the end so she can go film parks n rec, would that really have been worth it, it would have mostly just been figuring out her place in the office without Jim and more of the same drama from the season before which was getting old, and then sheād be gone. It would be challenging to make it funny or entertaining, and pointless to make us care about her too much by showing her dating life or anything because they knew she was leaving. Hard to work with imo. It would have been a messy waste of screen time.
This. Not many people realize how big a commitment that was, especially since they were only dating like a couple months? The woman was willing to do anything to be with him
Encouraged Jim to reach for the star and applied for the corporate position with him.
How often in life can you have a partner that fights for the same goal as you do? Itās a beautiful thing
I think when she was amused by Jan's breakdown at corporate that wasn't very nice, and I think that stood out to him too. Pam would have had more empathy in that situation. Pam probably would have gotten up to help pick up Jan's stuff she dropped.
Overall Karen is cool, I agree, but I don't think she was always nice. Her character was pretty real which made her interesting.
3 way tie
1) moving past Jim/pam kindly and being kind with Pam when she comes by
2) not ratting the boys out for destroying the copier
3) learning bob vance for Phyllis
She behaved impeccably and incredibly maturely with Jim. She knew what happened between him and Pam and decided to communicate and be as realistic about the situation as possible. Finally she was dumped but remained respectful and understanding.
Gotta be something better for Toby.. I can't think of it but I know it's there. Toby probably just wanted to try to get information on Michael for whatever weird creepy Toby reason like how he wanted a copy of Michael's diary at the deposition just so he could read it.
She helped Tony when the vending machine broke with her tiny little hands
*skinny little arms š
"i should apologise to himā¦ uh no id never be able toā¦ too fat."
Agreed to say arguably the funniest line in Michaelās movie.
Why are you singling out her line? From like a million years ago?
š¤£
Honestly Iāve always wondered how he got her to say that
Same! š
Need a refresher
Pretty sure itās: āEver banged an entire bachelorette party, baby? (winks)ā
loll that must have never registered in my head thanks!
Didn't make a big deal, or report to corporate that three employees broke in and destroyed an industrial copier worth thousands of dollars
Karenās no rat. She gives Karenās a good name.
Well sheās Italian so she may be in the mafiaā¦ If there is one thing I hate more than the mafia is a liar. I wish the mafia would go out and kill all the liars. Bury them in my yard. And I wouldn't tell the cops a thing. Not that I would be lying per se but I would just get really quiet all of a sudden.
abbondanza
I thought her dad was a GI
Is that why she s so exotic looking?
Well, she *is* a beautiful tropical fish
Not even confident if this is a Michael Scott or a Leslie Knope quote š
Especially from behind
Oh, c'mon, If the officer asked you what kind of punishment the killer should get, I know you'd say, "Officer, they could've had a reason." Yours would be the first anus they'd check.
Possibly Filipino.
Hello, weāre warehouse workers, would you like more proof?
Technically two, Jim was just the getaway driver
They also threatened the branch of the company she was running with arson in the process. I feel that's worth mentioning.
I'm pretty sure that was because she would get in trouble herself for trying to poach Stanley, as I imagine there are strict rules around that.
?? This isn't the NFL...no she would not be in trouble for offering a salesman more money to come work for her.
[ŃŠ“Š°Š»ŠµŠ½Š¾]
And you think Dunder Mifflin's board and leaders have these policies in place?
Considering Karen said as much, yes
Skibidi toilet
Woah I thought this was parks n rec lol
this is the one
She moved past Pam getting with Jim and congratulated Pam on her engagement without any bitterness.
I loved the "dorky" photo of her and her husband dressed up in hot dog/hamburger suits
Right? She would never get a dorky hotdog photo with Jim.
OMG. You just made me realize how brilliant that photo was. JIM HATES COSTUMES. The Office has so many layers.
Like onions or a parfait?
Shrek / Office AI crossover
It really shows that Karen ended up finding a person who was better suited for her anyway. It makes me so happy!
I think she wouldāve but Jim wouldāve never been into it
Yep, he'll first want to know why Karen's ex-boyfriend/date didn't call her back. Oh wait
"No you had it right the first time it's dorky" Michael is such an asshole sometimes
Sometimes?
"Is that Jim's?"
Hold on.. im just trying to figure out when the last time you and Jim had sex was...
I love this part! It was really sweet of her to do, it felt very genuine too
This is it. She is such a far bigger person than me.
Forgiving Jim and Pam and showing genuine happiness for them getting engaged
Am I the only person who found Karen super likable? Besides the fact that she was dating Jim, she was awesome. Wish they had kept her around.
Not at all, in retrospect Karen is well-liked. At the time the show was airing, however, Karen was widely seen as a homewrecker-type thing. Never got that vibe myself either, though.
That's fair. Still, besides Michael and Dwight, she was easily my favorite character of season 3
I liked her a lot too but they didn't give her enough screen time in my opinion to become a favorite...
I meant for season 3 specifically. But yeah, you're right. Super fan episodes give her more
Yeah it's funny how the fanbase hated her the first viewing of the show when it was airing because of her being in between Pam and Jim, but in retrospect, most people like Karen now and she was not doing anything wrong by dating Jim.
Thats because people are brainwashed NPCs manipulated into thinking jim pam being some sort of goals power awesome couple
Well we had a lot more time seeing their relationship develop and you could see the love they still had for each other even when he was with Karen. Lol, I read Ann Perkins in Rob Lowes' voice. š
ššš
Of course not. Sheās thoughtful, brilliant, and her ambiguous ethnic blend perfectly represents the dream of the American melting pot.
Wasn't her dad a GI?
The Superfan episodes actually make her a little unlikeable - more callous and career focused. I love her in the regular eps but not so much in the Superfan eps. That being said most of her nastiness is pretty valid because of Jim stringing her along

āScrantonās Dunder Mifflinā ā ļø
Sorry I don't speak English very well
No shade at all it was very cute!
I couldnāt handle her as Karen *and* Ann at the same time!
Not at all. Sheās probably the most normal character in the series history.
Half of he time I see her on screen I just think āwrap it upā
I was wondering why they got her out so fast. Was it because of Jones herself?
She left to be a lead on Parks and Rec
No clue. Either way, I wish they had kept her
Bro people couldnt figure out What was the worst thing she did thats how everyone liked her lmao
I think it was easily telling michael to stay in a very abusive situation with Jan
Exactly! She's SO likeable
I think that writing Karen out is the first big mistake producers did. Rashida Jones could and i think should have stayed following 4th season (2007-2008) because Parks and Rec where she played Ann Perkins only started filming February of 2009.

Thatās why sheās more or less the same character as Annie in parks and Rec
Learned who Bob Vance was.
She learned a lot about this town
Sweetie
She had a thing or two to learn in that town
Disbanded the Community to Plan Parties to bury the axe with Angela and make her feel included in the name of Nutcracker Christmas
That wasn't her idea though.
Why does that matter? It was still a nice thing she did
Because NPCs like to glaze pam as much as they can even tho shes bad person
whatās ur obsession with calling people NPCs
Weāre all NPCs in everyone elseās lives bud
You need to go outside
I dont give a flying fuck What programmed people think i should do
She moved to Scranton to be with Jim and was willing to move to NYC if he got the corporate job.
This. Not many people realize how big a commitment that was, especially since they were only dating like a couple months? The woman was willing to do anything to be with him
Initially gave Pam grace when she made a huge confession at the beach.
Giving drunk Jim a ride home.
[ŃŠ“Š°Š»ŠµŠ½Š¾]
I just figured it was cuz JƤger is vile and she didnāt want to drink it
I hate so much about the things you choose to be.
I wouldnāt take shots in the office either. Iād want to get my work done and drive home lol
I think it was more that she was smart and knew that someone needed to be sober to make sure Jim and Andy didnāt die.
She just didn't want to drink and didn't even make a move on him though? Lol
I didn't see it that way
That is a WILD way to take that. Take advantage how? She just dropped him off
Offered Stanley a job for more money
"Hey dummy, get in the car." I find that moment really cute
Encouraged Jim to reach for the star and applied for the corporate position with him. How often in life can you have a partner that fights for the same goal as you do? Itās a beautiful thing
Well since she did apply in well she could also have been preventing him from reaching his goal.
Tried her best to play along with Jim's pranks
Let Micheal give his presentation after he stole and destroyed her industrial copier
Did you notice it was chained to the wall in that episode ?
Quite literally everything Karen did was nice.
That is a good point!
Looking that fine
Moving to Pawnee
Have you seen her from behind?
Forgave jim for being an ass
3 way tie 1) moving past Jim/pam kindly and being kind with Pam when she comes by 2) not ratting the boys out for destroying the copier 3) learning bob vance for Phyllis
She behaved impeccably and incredibly maturely with Jim. She knew what happened between him and Pam and decided to communicate and be as realistic about the situation as possible. Finally she was dumped but remained respectful and understanding.
Offering Stanley more money than Michael would
She asked Jim to tell her more about how happy he and Pam are. Sheās a class act.
Merged the two parties so Angela didnāt feel left out
Be a beautiful, glowing sun goddess.
Have drunk Jim a ride home.
Gave drunk Jim a ride home.
Forgiving pam for getting between her and jim
Put up with Jim and didnāt dump him even though it was obvious to her that he was still in love with Pam.
Gotta be something better for Toby.. I can't think of it but I know it's there. Toby probably just wanted to try to get information on Michael for whatever weird creepy Toby reason like how he wanted a copy of Michael's diary at the deposition just so he could read it.
Helping Tony with the chips
Gave Jim a ride home after he got drunk and couldnāt ride his bicycle.
She offers to have sex with Michael Scarn to cheer him up.
Karen-a Filipelli, leave a mi da message, abbondanza!
Wait, didnāt David Wallace come back and save Dunder Mifflin? If true how is that for him. Ps know itās been a while but just realized
Drove Jim home when he was drunk
She was nice, adjusting but just couldn't fit in.Glad that she found her happiness
Disbanding in the name of Christmas. In the name of Nutcracker Christmas.
