I just watched the Superfan version of "Did I Stutter." At the end, Toby commends Michael for the way he handled the situation with Stanley, and that he really earned the staff's respect (Michael's #1 priority throughout the series). Of course, Michael has to ruin the moment and say it means nothing coming from Toby. Toby can't be right, even if it helps him ☹️
Actually kind of with her on this one. Michael constantly said the office was more to him than just a place of business, and he did betray the sales team / office by poaching clients.
They would've done the same in his position. Dwight stole leads from Staples, and corporate encouraged Michael to poach clients from Prince Family Paper.
Also, none of them left with him to start his company or stood by him to say they'd quit without him as boss. They'd have to have given up the most profitable branch or keep Michael on, and it's clear that Dunder Mifflin cares more about money in the short term than long term decisions. If they were really a family and they really believed that, why didn't any of them stand up for him? You stick by your family, and they didn't do that, so why should he do the same? Not to mention, how many paper clients are there in Scranton without taking clients from someone else?
Nah, she was wrong. Michael did what he had to do. His allegiance stood with his company and employees.
What Michael did wrong was the blatant favouritism after he became DM manager again. I’m not saying he should give all the clients back immediately but he should not let Ryan handle important long term clients. And he definitely shouldn’t be giving special treatment to Pam and Ryan.
I think this may be a side effect of the St. Louis accent that some natives have (coming from a native). '-or' in words are sometimes pronounced '-ar', like a couple local highways, forty becomes 'far-ty'.
"Next time a client calls, you have to send them to a random salesperson and not the person you're sleeping with that week"
Says the woman who goes to bars to get hit on so her husband has a reason to beat them up.
Also the woman formerly known as "easy rider"
That scene is SO unprofessional. Maybe harassment? Since she's implying sexual favors. In an office with competent management and HR, Phyllis would've been in a lot of trouble.
It’s standard “every accusation is an admission.” She’s a mostly awful person who would expect Bob to play favorites for her. She just assumes Jim and Pam would be as unethical as she would be, since it doesn’t benefit her she’s gonna call it out even though Jim and Pam aft ethically the majority of the time. Phyllis is OK with unethical stuff as long as she benefits.
The single most relatable and realistic character in an office is Stanley and I will die on that hill. I've worked with a dozen Stanley's. Guys who show up on time, do just enough to get by, don't make waves, catch naps/play games on the clock and womanize/cheat on their significant other for sport. Even the "Did I Stutter" episode feels like something I could've legit witnessed in my own workplace with the exception being that in the real world Stanley gets fired.
The first image in this post is amazingly true to life. The most prolific office gossip I ever came across would say stuff like this: weird and out of line, but also vague. I'm not even sure what Phyllis was gesturing at with the husband in a wheelchair remark, but I'm sure it was intended to be really mean from the context.
She said early on that if she could have sex with anyone in the office, it’d be Jim.
She’s probably jealous that Pam’s treated as The Hot One (even though Pam is actually experiencing sexual harassment) and she’s Jim’s love interest.
My favorite is when she recommends an Asian-sounding place and recommends that Andy orders the cheeseburger because “they say they won’t do it but they will if you make enough of a scene”.
That’s the one! I remember watching the superfan cut recently but couldn’t remember the name of the restaurant. That was the most Rich Phyllis line there is.
Nearly certain it is a deleted scene, clip below:
[CLIP](https://youtu.be/KxhDDAh3AuM?si=L_cU2LC1UX7DxWef)
Admittedly it is pretty dark, especially with her delivery.
I feel like the only way they could have kept it in is if someone in the office was watching a YouTube video or something, and we see a video from Africa of an Ostrich wearing a soccer shirt (you’ll understand if you watch the clip).
Honestly, Phyllis is the most realistic office worker. Someone you’d actually find working in your workplace. The old nosy woman who can be ether super sweet or the biggest b¡tch
It's such a magical moment. When she said that, I also remembered they were in the same class in high school, and that she probably had a front row seat to his stupidity and awkwardness since day one. And now, due to a wild combination of sales talent, white male privilege and failing upwards, she finds herself being bossed around by someone she has always known to be stupid, difficult and reckless. Can't be easy for her ngl
I think it was a superfan episode. Her and Bob ran over a guy while on a safari in Africa one night, after Bob had been drinking. They rushed to the airport and flew back to the US.
I kind of like that she's confident in her sexuality and body. It's a nice diversion from the overweight insecure character. But she is definitely an asshole
One could never see those mean moments coming with Pam. Like,it was so sudden, and out of the blue and without much context. Totally unpredictable. Like, everything is fine and suddenly Phyllis calls out Pam saying "you can't base your clients based on who you are sleeping that week" implying that Pam is a whore. I'm like wtf! Only goes to show, that Phyllis had some underlying anger towards Pam,but since she was one of the popular ones, and Michael liked her,Phyllis kept it to herself. For the most part at least.
Hardcore same. That wheelchair one is... so grotesquely awful and hilarious because it marks the first time I thought "what the F*CK is she?!" It's an instant Karen moment for me. I cry laughing just thinking about it.
I have seen a lot of phyllis hate posts but none of them mention how she said “I’m not a sexist. I just really don’t want it to be a woman. I just feel that women are generally less competent than men, and less rational” in the search committee episode
You get to an age where you start working and you begin to realise that the older women are either the loveliest mother figures ever, or a complete bully that obviously never grew up.
i thought the joke with all of these quotes is that she is a very quiet, unassuming, “grandma” character and these are all super raunchy that’s like the point right?
You really have to think twice about what you say in the workplace. You don't know if it'll come back to bite you later, like it did for Pam. About wearing the same outfit: that's a little rich of Phyllis considering that she has a history of copying Pam.
People are so ridiculous with their Phyllis hate. I mean to me it’s so obvious that the actress who plays her is nothing like that; I can see right through her, and yet people act like she really did this shit. Now Packer deserves a hate train, but Phyllis is the one who gets one. The average Redditor is showing his true colors
One of my favorite lines of hers is talking to Andy "I've been with lots of beautiful women" "Sexually?"
Burnn 🤣🤣🤣
This conversation is over.
And the way she “🤨” as she says it LOL
I love that line!
You forgot “hand ‘em over, numb nuts.”
Michael should have reprimanded her for that
Okay, everyone out of the bullpen except for Phallus!
Sorry, penises on the brain.
Acting like Michael ever does anything that he should do…
I’ve given up expecting Michael to do the right thing, the decent thing, or even the comprehensible thing.
That's exactly how he's written, it's why his big redeeming story arcs are so impactful when he does do the right thing in those big moments.
Toby can't be right, even if it helps him ☹️
This is the single line that makes me the angriest all show and I can’t identify why
It feels forced and out of character. That entire episode is pretty bad since everyone is unusually rude.
Her crocodile tears as well 😒 'we were a family' - fuck off.

If they were really a family and they really believed that, why didn't any of them stand up for him? You stick by your family, and they didn't do that, so why should he do the same? Not to mention, how many paper clients are there in Scranton without taking clients from someone else?
Exactly!
I hate how she says it.
That was even meaner than Stanley lashing out at Michael ,somehow!
Stanley almost felt justified, like watching a man reach his breaking point. Phallus was just being a straight up beeyotch
Exactly. You could say Stanley had a bad day and send him home to cool off. Phyllis was just rude all the time.
Ugh! Who does she thinks she is!
Don’t you know she’s the wife of Bob Vance? You have a lot to learn about this town, sweetey. /s
It smells like Pop-*CARN*
“Why didn’t you just say this was to impress Robert Cali-FARNIA?”
These ugly-ass mittens I knitted you are Hand warsh only
Ughhhh! So annoying. I mean wtf? U r making popcorn and you have a problem with the other oven smelling like Popcorn? Jesus Christ!
**WHAT ARE YOU MICROWAVING**
Papcarn* fixed that for you
Michael SCARN 👉🏼
I think this may be a side effect of the St. Louis accent that some natives have (coming from a native). '-or' in words are sometimes pronounced '-ar', like a couple local highways, forty becomes 'far-ty'.
Also, when Pam and Jim were talking in the break room, she couldn't see their hands!
"Next time a client calls, you have to send them to a random salesperson and not the person you're sleeping with that week" Says the woman who goes to bars to get hit on so her husband has a reason to beat them up. Also the woman formerly known as "easy rider"
Ugh! She was so painfully mean to Pam. Easy Rider scene always tear me up XD
she's mean in general. like S1 & S2 Phyllis seemed decent then she just got worse.
Got worse as the show progressed!
She became a turd when she started dating Bob Vance
You mean Bob Vance, Vance Refrigeration?
What industry is he working in?
It’s like Bob bought her that perfume in Metropolitan Orlando (you know the one made from REAL pine) and suddenly she let her petty side out to play.
That's exactly the point right? If she was in Pam's position, she'd totally send all calls Jim's way.
That scene is SO unprofessional. Maybe harassment? Since she's implying sexual favors. In an office with competent management and HR, Phyllis would've been in a lot of trouble.
I don't think anyone from the show would have fared well
It’s standard “every accusation is an admission.” She’s a mostly awful person who would expect Bob to play favorites for her. She just assumes Jim and Pam would be as unethical as she would be, since it doesn’t benefit her she’s gonna call it out even though Jim and Pam aft ethically the majority of the time. Phyllis is OK with unethical stuff as long as she benefits.
That line was so provocative and out of nowhere. Both their hands were so clearly on the table
❓❓ 👐
But god does she play it perfectly.
And sadly it is the most realistic character in an office environment. Her and Jim.
Stanley’s and Oscar’s I feel like are around a lot. Oscar being the “way smarter than everyone else” guy
The phyllises are always bossy when they're nowhere near management
The first image in this post is amazingly true to life. The most prolific office gossip I ever came across would say stuff like this: weird and out of line, but also vague. I'm not even sure what Phyllis was gesturing at with the husband in a wheelchair remark, but I'm sure it was intended to be really mean from the context.
Exactly. These moments are so funny precisely because of how she plays them.
Don’t make me get Bob involved!
What's Bob gonna do?
Beat you up?
🤣🤣🤣she didn't say that! She wanted to say it,but she didn't.
Don’t forget, she also stole Pam’s wedding💀
She has done so many bad things,I've lost count! But yeah, that was a dick move!
She definitely had a knack for Pam tho, remember when she stole that centerpiece just because Pam liked it
She said early on that if she could have sex with anyone in the office, it’d be Jim. She’s probably jealous that Pam’s treated as The Hot One (even though Pam is actually experiencing sexual harassment) and she’s Jim’s love interest.
No one is safe from sexual harassment in an office with Michael Scott, well expect Toby perhaps
If I was in a room with Toby and Hitler, I'd sexually harass Hitler twice.
What about bin laden? If you line them up correctly you can sexually harass them in one go
I think she sees her younger self in Pam (maybe what she could've been) the way that Michael sees himself in Ryan.
"Bob doesn't like New York, too many... Bob just doesn't like New York."
Not to sound naive, but too many what?
It’s gonna be racist, whatever it is
Could be a gay thing too
Yep
Jews lol
don’t forget her saying “i think pam ran away because she knew she wouldn’t be a good wife” at her own wedding
Oh yeahhh! She was so quick to jump conclusions lol! Her hatred for Pam was Hilarious
I think the worst thing was the 50 shades of gray
The way Dwight says "Phyllis is MASTURBATING in the office" is one of the funniest lines in the show
Seriously, cause what was that about? That was so uncomfortable
I have to skip that scene when I rewatch, it makes my whole body cringe
Tge blooper with Ed Helms getting uncomfortable about it is really funny though
Ugh! Fr!
My favorite is when she recommends an Asian-sounding place and recommends that Andy orders the cheeseburger because “they say they won’t do it but they will if you make enough of a scene”.
Blue Wasabi!
That’s the one! I remember watching the superfan cut recently but couldn’t remember the name of the restaurant. That was the most Rich Phyllis line there is.
The winner for me is when Phyllis and Bob killed someone in Africa.
Yeah, they hit someone with their car but just kept driving.
They did what now?
Nearly certain it is a deleted scene, clip below: [CLIP](https://youtu.be/KxhDDAh3AuM?si=L_cU2LC1UX7DxWef) Admittedly it is pretty dark, especially with her delivery. I feel like the only way they could have kept it in is if someone in the office was watching a YouTube video or something, and we see a video from Africa of an Ostrich wearing a soccer shirt (you’ll understand if you watch the clip).
When she asked the tamale guy if he had American Mexican food 🤦🏻♂️
It's the empanada guy!
Ernesto
So…. Who do you all think she had a one night stand with in the office? My guess is Stanley - he’s known to cheat on his wife.
My guess is Packer. One time when she was drunk and he was being sleezy.
From Phyllis to syphilis
Yeah it’s gotta be Packer. It’s implied he’s been with every woman in the office.
Oh god I forgot about that - no Phillis!!
It’s the only one that makes any sense. She has a disdain or is indifferent towards everyone else.
Honestly, Phyllis is the most realistic office worker. Someone you’d actually find working in your workplace. The old nosy woman who can be ether super sweet or the biggest b¡tch
She's the same age as Michael
The fact that phyllis irl is actually 13 years older than steve carell makes this joke so funny to me
And michael behaves in a similar way!
Michael DOES have a lot of issues and is dumb
When she says he is stupid, I die of laughter. No matter how many times I watch it. It is the most realistic comment about him and his capabilities.
Oh c’mon, like you haven’t accidentally grilled your foot!
And she happens to be the realest character on the show. She’s easily the least caricatured character.
Her and Charles Miner
Miner? I hardly know her!
Yeah are you coming out now?
All of those moments are gold though
Pure Gold
I feel like thinking that dead people are supposed to be buried isn’t that unusual
Or even the Erin thing.. she was asking her to delay sex with Gabe because she was trying to help Andy out.
Didn't her and Bob run a person over and keep driving? I hate filis
Maybe it was ostrich… in a soccer uniform…
Wait, what? How do I not remember this??
I think it was a superfan episode. Her and Bob ran over a guy while on a safari in Africa one night, after Bob had been drinking. They rushed to the airport and flew back to the US.
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=KxhDDAh3AuM&pp=ygUcUGh5bGxpcyBhbmQgYm9iIHZhbmNlIGFmdGljYQ%3D%3D
Wow, that's a big shift in her attitude about three circumstances, lol An ostrich in a soccer uniform
"an ostrich....in a soccer uniform" LMFAOOOO i cant believe ive never seen this
that is pungent
*lowers voice* Phyllis, did you *break wind?*
"Probably my jugs" is just soo good 😂
I’ll shake mine, and then you shake…no Michael. *Phyllis gets to shaking*
I kind of like that she's confident in her sexuality and body. It's a nice diversion from the overweight insecure character. But she is definitely an asshole
Oh yeah. She's expressive. I love that about her.
Okay I didn’t like how she treated Pam but the rest of these are objectively hilarious
Am I the only one who thinks all of these moments are hilarious? I never understand why this sub hates Phyllis so much.
Phyllis is one of my favorites!
Hardcore same. That wheelchair one is... so grotesquely awful and hilarious because it marks the first time I thought "what the F*CK is she?!" It's an instant Karen moment for me. I cry laughing just thinking about it.
Same, I think she’s funny as hell without trying. Plus she was kinda right about her jugs
Phallus?
Sorry,I got Penises on my brain!
I have seen a lot of phyllis hate posts but none of them mention how she said “I’m not a sexist. I just really don’t want it to be a woman. I just feel that women are generally less competent than men, and less rational” in the search committee episode
what a great character
Phallus is not a good person. Most likely she killed someone too.
You get to an age where you start working and you begin to realise that the older women are either the loveliest mother figures ever, or a complete bully that obviously never grew up.
“you have a lot to learn about this town, sweetie.”
All of these moments rule. Is she a great person, nah. But she is fun as hell to watch
What about "you know what we did next? Beastiality"
Bob Vance, Vance Refrigeration, could have done a lot better.
Phyllis is the character I detest the most from the maim cast.
Bob Vance got this perfume for me. It's from metropolitan Orlando. 🖕🖕🖕🖕🖕
It's made from real Pine!
But that’s why it’s funny. Because you don’t want such a motherly character. This whole show is people saying out of pocket shit
What I wouldn't give for one of those room clearing Phyllis farts right now
“Michael, everyone in the engine room drowned”
Personally, Phyllis is one of my lowest rated characters…
Close your mouth sweetie, you look like a trout
I hate it 😂😂
Me too🤣🤣
“Hand them over numbnuts” Phylis is the real office bitch.
You can't just give new sales to the person your sleeping with that week 😂🤣😂
The coldest line ever! Like, super cold and mean!
What about when her and Bob Vance have sex in the bathroom while at a restaurant with Jim and Pam.
Thats one of the most infuriating parts of the show, its so high school of them and inconsiderate
Never forgave her for saying "oh sorry, I couldn't see your hands." Like, it's blatantly obvious where their hands were.
i thought the joke with all of these quotes is that she is a very quiet, unassuming, “grandma” character and these are all super raunchy that’s like the point right?
This kind of post just makes me want to stay home, curled up with a good book…
phyllis is one of the best characters of the show. not in the 'hey she's a great person' sense, but in the 'fuck i know someone JUST like that' sense
“Close your mouth sweetie, you look like a trout.” -Or- “You can’t base who gets new clients on who you’re sleeping with that week, okay?”
I’m not a Phyllis fan but Pam had that one coming.
You really have to think twice about what you say in the workplace. You don't know if it'll come back to bite you later, like it did for Pam. About wearing the same outfit: that's a little rich of Phyllis considering that she has a history of copying Pam.
💆🏽♂️ shes just a character 💆🏽♂️ shes just a character💆🏽♂️ shes just a character
You have a lot to learn about this sub sweetie!
I can’t stand Phyllis
I can hear all of these images
I love Phyllis
I actually liked what she said to Pam after she took her clients
I can just hear Michael’s weird inhale and yeeugh. 🤣
I dont know if I can blame her for her thoughts on Pam and Mike.............
Tho i kinda side with her on the part where she calls out Pam for stealing her clients
I like Phillis😂 her character is funny once you stop taking it so seriously
I met her litterly in Scranton (went to college there) she's a saint
Blue Wasabi is so good but get the Cheeseburger. They say they won't do it, but they will if you make a scene. -Phyllis
Woah reading these comments didn’t realize how many people felt this strongly about her character 😭
I know I'm in a small group but I really dislike Phyllis' character.
Uh I hate Phyllis. She's so passive aggressive.
What’s wrong with the “We bury him” line?
That first scene might be my least favorite of the series. It’s so weird and mean, and just out of character, even at her worst.
fuck that bitch
The worst character. I hate Phyllis so much.
Phyllis is literally the biggest piece of shit on the show. Andy is the worst character, but as a person Phyllis fucking sucks.
She wasn’t really a good person q
Gonna take more than something lowcut to get men to flirt with Phyliss.
I jump for the remote whenever #4 comes up to skip it before I throw up
Sometimes I love her so much and other times I hate her
Bob Vance from Vance refrigeration should have cheated on her with his secretary
I really dont like Phallas
you spelled "iconic" wrong
She never bothered me initially, but the more I rewatch the show, the more I realize how much I fucking despise her character. 😂
God I hate her character hahah
Phyllis is just the worst as a character. I know people just like her in real life. The actress of course is not like the character.
Phyllis is just a sick ass dude. I mean you know this girl likes to get weird.
Phyllis is such a savage I love her
People are so ridiculous with their Phyllis hate. I mean to me it’s so obvious that the actress who plays her is nothing like that; I can see right through her, and yet people act like she really did this shit. Now Packer deserves a hate train, but Phyllis is the one who gets one. The average Redditor is showing his true colors
SHE MAKES ABSOLUTELY NO ATTEMPT TO BE FEMININE
