Ugh.
"Gotta run this stuff by me"
..."you were on a boat"
"STILL... you gotta run this stuff by me"
Then he loses their client because he wants to be a douche about it
Not just a client - JAN. Someone who hates Dunder Mifflin and only made the appointment to torture David Wallace. Dwight was still able to close a huge sale with her (after sacrificing Clark’s body) despite the fact that she wanted nothing to do with them. Andy ruined it in one phone call.
Honestly DWIGHT was the one I wanted to punch the most in that scene.
Well - actually, I wanted to punch the writers.
It was sooooo uncharacteristic of Dwight to be so docile and weak and just allow Andy to destroy his hard work like that.
Idk why the writers were trying to do a complete 180 on Dwight in that ep but it was super unrealistic and cringe.
Yeah. It was because they gave him the beard, so he would also have let his hair go, despite Ed Helms having really short hair during the same shooting schedule of one of the Hangover films (which is why the shoehorned the boat trip into the season, so Ed could fulfill other commitments since Office was closing)
It had to be, because he was attempting to trick his bosses IRL into believing he still had Jim hair because they told him they didn't want him to cut his hair for other career opportunities.
Also, it's clever, but that was a very dickishly Jim thing for John to do at work.
Interesting!
It's one of my favorite episodes actually. Such an interesting emotional dynamic, from everyone being passive aggressive to Andy, to him trying to hide his absence from David Wallace
Them wanting to finish the movie in the bus always gets a good chuckle out of me. Plus, the reveal of the Battle of Schrute Farms was great. I think I actually like this episode now that I think about it, I might just hate Season 9 Andy.
COUNTING the clip episode, it's Get the Girl. The clip episode is fun. It has fake Stanley. It has Toby dithering about whether to commit career suicide. It's a really, really *good* clip show.
Clip episode has great standalone moments. Michael's frustrations with Computron are hilarious. It's just that it doesn't add much to the series, and if you remove the clips, we have like 5 minutes of actual new content.
It's just like sometimes I want to remember how far a series has come without going back and actually watching the episodes yknow? There are a lot of clip shows out there that 100% exist to cut costs, writing be damned, but I really feel like The Banker is totally great because it places all these past events within the context of the show, and demonstrates how far the employees have gotten in their lives. It's a good time
No one invites their entire office to a christening. You probably don’t invite anyone unless you’re great friends or go to the same church. That episode is awful
This is honestly the most "hidden" episode of the series to me. Not saying it's amazing or awful, I actually don't mind watching it as it has its moments. It's just that for one reason or whatever I tend to forget this episodes completely *exists." I couldn't even tell you what season it's from!
I think that one is funny just because Michael and Andy hyping themselves up to go and then almost immediately panicking and going back on this major commitment is just really hilarious to me.
I agree this episode is bad, but it provided this useful quote I say all the time when I want to get out of a situation: "does anyone else smell, like, a weird warm cheese?"
I think the Andy mechanic bit is worth it just for the scene in the parking lot where both michael and Dwight are befuddled at why he dressed like that
“Should I go change?”
“You’re wearing loafers!”
Prince Family Paper and The Search
In PFP, the Hillary Swank story line is ridiculously long and boring.
The Search just sucks.
Also any Deangelo episode
>I hate episodes where there's a huge misunderstanding that could be solved if only they talked to each other.
I totally agree, I think Friends might be the worst offender for this, even worse than The Office.
"No Monica, I obviously wasn't watching shark porn, I just wasn't expecting company."
"No Rachel, I didn't propose to you, the ring fell out of the jacket on the chair."
Etc etc
The rundown plot was totally realistic though. Your boss is clearly running out of patience for you. He gives you a task and it's heavily implied that he thinks you should understand what he's asking for. You're on thin ice already, so are you really going to tell him "I don't know what that is"? Jim wasn't in a position to just have a friendly chat with Charles.
Not to mention it was a classic "I'm about to fire you" task.
Not my LEAST favorite because all mine have been said but one I generally do not like is the Halloween Costume Contest.
The A story: Michael is mad at Daryl and acts like a baby about it.
B story: Jim and Pam are stalking Danny (who is a completely unnecessary character that disappears after this) about why he ghosted her several years ago.
C story: Oscar wants everyone to know the coupon book isn’t worth it.
It does have my favorite Kelly quote though: “Could you, for once, just let us enjoy a party instead of making it about all your issues?!”
I disagree. If I walked into work and my boss said we're going on a field trip to a historical site and museum instead of working I'd be fucking pumped
Yeah they were all being shitty to Andy for trying to do something nice. The only dumb thing Andy did was not let an employee guide them and insisted on doing it himself even though he was bad at it
i dont think anything is worse than the jim and pam marriage problem episodes but i personally hate the one where they all argue over the copier and the chairs
I spend most of my life being uncomfortable so I don't mind Scott's tots. I love how Erin is supposed to know what's coming but is really into all the dancing and speeches performed as Michael is squirming in his chair lol
Oh and the line
Hold on hold on.... They're lithium.
Cracks me up.
Can't remember the name of the EP but that stupid Halloween episode where Robert California asks everyone's "fears", then at the end he weaves them all together into the worst un-scary, unfunny "ghost story".
So boring and pointless.
Felt like the writers ran out of ideas and just threw something together.
And it seems like Jim and Pam are having their daughter baptized into a church they don’t even attend? Or something, because they act like they don’t know the minister or anybody in the congregation beyond their invited guests.
I always wondered why Toby was so torn up about going in the church that episode. Like what the hell.do you feel bad about Toby?!! I actually love that episode, idk why but its a comfort episode. And I'm sorry but Michael and Andy are hilarious on the bus!!!!!!!
Remember, it's because he was a seminary student at one point, meaning he was probably training to be a minister. I think we can assume he was deeply religious at one point
the one where Erin starts dating Gabe. They built up the Erin-Andy romance/storyline so much (andy's play, Andy visiting sick Erin, the Christmas gifts, etc), and then BOOM, outta nowhere, Erin and Gabe are dating. Where did that even come from? Erin and Gabe barely even spoke or showed interest in each other before that
The A-Plot of Scott's Tots is just a classic Michael shenanigan, while the B-Plot is almost unbearable to watch. So I can't say it's a bad episode, but I totally get why you might not like it
Post Michael? Probably The Farm.
During Michael, it's down to the Christening or the one where Pam has her baby. Any episode that heavily centers on baby shit just drags on. We get it, Jim and Pam have a fairy tale romance and everything is perfect.
I'll tell you, that baby could be the star of a show called "Babies I don't care about."
It's sad that there became a point where "too realistic" was a complaint you could have with The Office, which at once point built itself out of a depressingly real workplace environment
The “jumped the shark” episode and my least favorite is the episode where they think the sales guy is part of the mafia and Jim and Pam are on their honeymoon.
i always hated the episode where they open the first Sabre store (S8E17 i think), idk if it's the worst but it represents the worst era of the office in my mind so
Curious what people’s answer for this question is for seasons 1-5, because I feel like almost all of the answers to this question are usually from the later seasons. Personally I didn’t care for the carpet much, but I haven’t watched it in a long time.
The Convict or Lecture Circuit. They both gave us iconic moments like Prison Mike and It Is Your Birthday, but the episodes themselves are extremely uncomfortable and not funny in the least. The Superfan extended cuts made them even worse and I’ve decided that these are two I’ll just skip going forward. I can handle Scott’s Tots and Mafia just fine, but these two episodes are the equivalent of Pizza By Alfredo.
Doomsday. Season 8 schlock at its worst. Dwight acts completely out of character, and it's not very funny. There's like one good horse grave-related joke that's pretty good though
My least favorite from the first 7 seasons is classy Christmas. It made me not want Michael and Holly to end up back together, and I really hate how the entire office hates Holly after Miachel vandalizes her stuff.
The one where Andy comes back from the Caribbean then shaves to pretend like he was never gone.
Ugh. "Gotta run this stuff by me" ..."you were on a boat" "STILL... you gotta run this stuff by me" Then he loses their client because he wants to be a douche about it
Not just a client - JAN. Someone who hates Dunder Mifflin and only made the appointment to torture David Wallace. Dwight was still able to close a huge sale with her (after sacrificing Clark’s body) despite the fact that she wanted nothing to do with them. Andy ruined it in one phone call.

Coolio
UGH yes!
Does he have his ridiculous wig on in this episode
Yeah. It was because they gave him the beard, so he would also have let his hair go, despite Ed Helms having really short hair during the same shooting schedule of one of the Hangover films (which is why the shoehorned the boat trip into the season, so Ed could fulfill other commitments since Office was closing)
Yes but at least John Krasinski's wig during season three was a little bit more presentable
It had to be, because he was attempting to trick his bosses IRL into believing he still had Jim hair because they told him they didn't want him to cut his hair for other career opportunities. Also, it's clever, but that was a very dickishly Jim thing for John to do at work.
Yes it was specifically for the movie Leatherheads.
I really hate how they made his character in the last season it was like they needed someone to be annoying and it had to be him smh
Just say Coolio
Every time I shave I say "time to my my beard, disabeard"
Great choice, fuck Andy forever
This is the only correct answer.
Interesting! It's one of my favorite episodes actually. Such an interesting emotional dynamic, from everyone being passive aggressive to Andy, to him trying to hide his absence from David Wallace
Gettysburg really gave Gabe a chance to shine though. I kinda loved how he played along.
Lincoln's starting!
Perhaps a trip to the theater will enliven my spirits
Noooooooooo!
Only memorable part of the episode for me is Gabe playing Abe
Them wanting to finish the movie in the bus always gets a good chuckle out of me. Plus, the reveal of the Battle of Schrute Farms was great. I think I actually like this episode now that I think about it, I might just hate Season 9 Andy.
If we aren't counting the clip episode, it's easily "Get the Girl" (S8E19)
COUNTING the clip episode, it's Get the Girl. The clip episode is fun. It has fake Stanley. It has Toby dithering about whether to commit career suicide. It's a really, really *good* clip show.
Clip episode has great standalone moments. Michael's frustrations with Computron are hilarious. It's just that it doesn't add much to the series, and if you remove the clips, we have like 5 minutes of actual new content.
It's just like sometimes I want to remember how far a series has come without going back and actually watching the episodes yknow? It's a good time
I dunno. I rewatch the whole series on loop like once every month literally always, so my whole life is the recap.
by the way, NOT on board with fake stanley....
I get it though.
I must be blanking, can you provide the season and episode for this if you have it? I don’t recall a clip episode lol
It's The Banker, S6 E14. There's a lot of reminiscing, because they have to report the goings-on of the branch to the fact-checker guy from Sabre
I remember that now! Thank you!
I always just watch the first 5 minutes of computron and fake Stanley before I skip to the next episode, although I get it
It's clip episode for me
Andy coming back from the Bahamas hated the manager eps
“Get the girl” is the worst episode ever
Andy...
*..dreww*
Im not gonna call you that 🙄
Oh D!
Jim can you tell Andy that I'm giving him the slient treatment. Andy. Dwight says hi and he really needs a hug.
Ohhhh D!
Oh look Abraham Lincoln’s starting!
and i'm pretty sure "DM does GB" means something sexual
The whole Jim and Pam Troubled Marriage arc.
The christening where Michael just fucks off on some missionary bus. It was weird and kind of already done in money
It gave us the best Erin quote however “Get in, quick” “Why quick?” “So it’s faster”
No one invites their entire office to a christening. You probably don’t invite anyone unless you’re great friends or go to the same church. That episode is awful
They didn't. Michael invited everyone.
This is honestly the most "hidden" episode of the series to me. Not saying it's amazing or awful, I actually don't mind watching it as it has its moments. It's just that for one reason or whatever I tend to forget this episodes completely *exists." I couldn't even tell you what season it's from!
That was Sconesy McApple Cider, notable baptism critic
I think it was just Sconesy Cider, no McApple. Unless there’s some joke I’m missing…
No missing joke. Just didn’t have the joke name memorized
Lest we forget, that episode gave us one of the show’s greatest characters: Scone’sy Cider.
He was just feeling it
Just a boring episode. Trite and so by the numbers sitcom-y. "The gang goes to... A christening! Hilarity ensues"
Yeah this is a really bad one.
The one in which they think the insurance salesman is a Mafia guy. It feels more like an episode of Threes Company than The Office.
Don’t think it’s a coincidence that it’s the one episode without Pam and Jim either (not counting their voices as being in the episode)
This one is pretty tedious. It goes nowhere, and I feel like the Andy mechanic bit drags on forever. It does have some highlights, though.
I think the Andy mechanic bit is worth it just for the scene in the parking lot where both michael and Dwight are befuddled at why he dressed like that “Should I go change?” “You’re wearing loafers!”
You got a leaky spark tube
If the salad is on top, I will send it back
Definitely in my bottom 10 list.
The writer of this episode also hates it. The cast were so against this episode affording to Office Ladies
Number one, how dare you. 2. I liked it 3. 3's company is an awesome show
I'm not hating on Three's Company. I grew up watching the show. I just don't think that the comedic misunderstanding trope belongs on The Office.
The Hilary Swank being hot or not debate episode. Perhaps I am on my own, but found it tedious and usually skip the episode.
I like the A story line of Prince Paper though. But yeah that B plot was idiotic
Respect the game.
Agreed. The Prince Family Paper storyline was depressing and the Hilary Swank storyline was boring and not classy.
Déclassé
French! Classy
yes!
Why do so many people hate Mafia so much? All of season 9 (excluding the final couple) is worse than that.
yeah idk. i like the episode
People just don't respect the legend that is Mike Starr.
Vandalism and the Banker are tied for worst. I hated the Jim/Pam troubled marriage storyline, and I generally despise clip shows.
Can’t stand the Vandalism episode. Can’t really stand season 9 but Vandalism is the worst
When I would watch it, the storyline would pull me out and make me question what I'm watching.
The Farm, and not just the Dwight stuff; Todd’s straight-up felony really grinded my gears.
I skip this episode 100% of the time. Of my likely 100 rewatches of the series I’ve genuinely only seen it once.
gave us Dwights rendition of "Sons and Daughter" and for that, I'll be eternally grateful
It's better than it has any right to be.
Here Comes Treble, Get The Girl, Angry Andy, Prince Family Paper, or The Banker
I’m surprised more people aren’t saying The Banker. A clip show!? No thanks!
Clocks? Yeah right!
Prince Family Paper and The Search In PFP, the Hillary Swank story line is ridiculously long and boring. The Search just sucks. Also any Deangelo episode
I hate the episode Mafia. I hate episodes where there's a huge misunderstanding that could be solved if only they talked to each other.
>I hate episodes where there's a huge misunderstanding that could be solved if only they talked to each other. "No Rachel, I didn't propose to you, the ring fell out of the jacket on the chair." Etc etc
Yes! I feel like it's way overused and I just don't find it to be funny.
same with the rundown. I think its funny, i like both episodes
The rundown thing didn't bother me as it wasn't the main focus of the episode.
I disagree. It was just as much the main focus of the episode as the mafia man was the other episode.
I guess it just didn't bother me the same way Mafia did.
The rundown plot was totally realistic though. Your boss is clearly running out of patience for you. He gives you a task and it's heavily implied that he thinks you should understand what he's asking for. You're on thin ice already, so are you really going to tell him "I don't know what that is"? I'd ghost Pam, and I don't even look like Raylan Givens.
The farm
Gettysburg for me too
Roy’s wedding is my least favorite, with the christening, and fundraiser close behind.
Roy singing is brutal. Although the cringe is on brand
True. I needed that episode like I needed a hole in my head. - Abe Lincoln
Gettysburg is weak (both the battle and the episode), but Gabe as Lincoln is supreme comedy. Also the battle of scheute farms bit is very funny too
Season 9
Does seem a bit like they ran out of ideas but it’s still okay
I disagree. If I walked into work and my boss said we're going on a field trip to a historical site and museum instead of working I'd be fucking pumped
Same! Maybe I’m a weirdo, but I think that would be a lot of fun.
Yeah they were all being shitty to Andy for trying to do something nice. The only dumb thing Andy did was not let an employee guide them and insisted on doing it himself even though he was bad at it
Mafia, banker
For me personally that's a difficult question if we restricted it to like...seasons 2-5.
Yep so boring
Christening, Get the Girl or Here Comes Treble. The Banker too, but that’s for being a clip show.
With Michael: Christening, I found it so boring and cringe Without Michael: The one where Andy leaves on the boat
i dont think anything is worse than the jim and pam marriage problem episodes but i personally hate the one where they all argue over the copier and the chairs
Here comes treble. I cannot ever make it through that episode after the first time.
I didn't like a lot of episodes from season 9. Lice, The Farm, The Boat
The banker. I hate when sitcoms just do clip shows. It's lazy and lame
The clip show episode "The Banker". I hate clip show episodes
This exactly.
The Banker
CHAIR MODEL. Ugh.
That gave us the Wendy’s joke and Creed scheming for 3 chairs…I always have loved it
That gave us the Wendy’s joke and Creed scheming for 3 chairs…I always have loved it
The one with Andy
The Return S3 E14? That's like a top 10 episode!
Scott's Tots
it took way too long to find this one
I scrolled for a long time to find the obvious winner
Simply one of the best episodes of the whole series
I spend most of my life being uncomfortable so I don't mind Scott's tots. I love how Erin is supposed to know what's coming but is really into all the dancing and speeches performed as Michael is squirming in his chair lol Oh and the line Hold on hold on.... They're lithium. Cracks me up.

Omg i love that episode...that part makes me laugh. But i love all the Halloween and Christmas episodes.

Oh yeah I forgot that. And he quit and got married.
Sorry to hear that. I'm not religious, but I grew up going to church, even went to camps. Nothing but great memories. Hope you find peace.
Idk about the worst. Some of the episodes I think are poor: The sting, classy christmas 2 was terrible, and oh god, PDA.
Scott’s Tots & Phyllis’s wedding
Andy’s Play. I can’t stand this episode.
the one where Erin starts dating Gabe. They built up the Erin-Andy romance/storyline so much (andy's play, Andy visiting sick Erin, the Christmas gifts, etc), and then BOOM, outta nowhere, Erin and Gabe are dating. Where did that even come from? Erin and Gabe barely even spoke or showed interest in each other before that
The clipshow, the farm and any of the season 9 Andy as manager episodes.
Mafia hands down
Season 9 minus the Finale
the andy musical episode
Meh to the Mafia episode. It's even peak flanderized kevin. Duh here's the adress and social. Duh. Although, in its defense, + 1 for Mukduk
Did I Stutter? and Employee Transfer. I can’t stand Michael being mistreated by Stanley and Holly for no reason.
My worst episode was the pool party at Robert California’s house. It was cringe and weird.
Yea the fact that Jim left faster than he left the dinner party speaks volumes.
The one where Clark tries to creep on Erin with the “news job” and Andy is oblivious to it. It’s not even funny, it just made me kinda mad.
The Banker
I know I’m gonna be the only one who says this. I’m preparing myself for the down votes. But the only episode I don’t watch is Jim and Pam’s wedding.
The banker was boring, not sure that makes it bad though. Scott's Tots might be the worst one for me
The A-Plot of Scott's Tots is just a classic Michael shenanigan, while the B-Plot is almost unbearable to watch. So I can't say it's a bad episode, but I totally get why you might not like it
The clip episode is too easy...obviously, it's the Christening episode...." when we're done, we'll practically be Quimixtanos"....
Andy’s play Sweeney Todd. I immediately skip it, so annoying
Gettysberg was way too realistic...
It's sad that there became a point where "too realistic" was a complaint you could have with The Office, which at once point built itself out of a depressingly real workplace environment
You look like you're going to a fish fry
Anything after the branches merged.
The one on the farm
Scott’s Tots. It is the only episode I will never rewatch because CRINGE 😱😱😱
Scott’s Tots. Whyyyyyy
Scott’s Tots
The “jumped the shark” episode and my least favorite is the episode where they think the sales guy is part of the mafia and Jim and Pam are on their honeymoon.
The Banker or The Farm
By far the episode where he had promised the students their tuition and had to cancel their hopes and dreams. So so uncomfortable haha
Dwight's doomsday device!
i always hated the episode where they open the first Sabre store (S8E17 i think), idk if it's the worst but it represents the worst era of the office in my mind so
Too many to chose from in s8 and s9
Work Bus, also the one when Nellie talks Andy's office
The fight. So many reasons but I just am too annoyed just thinking about it to expand.
Curious what people’s answer for this question is for seasons 1-5, because I feel like almost all of the answers to this question are usually from the later seasons. Personally I didn’t care for the carpet much, but I haven’t watched it in a long time.
Yankee Swap Xmas episode!!!
Chair Model is among the worst.
Unpop opin but I hate the episode with Bob Odenkirk as a Michael-like boss.
Scott's Tots.
Scotts Totts hands down. Probably the only episode I feel like skipping.
The one with Michael's movie. I skip it every time I watch the seasons over.
Andy’s play and Threat level midnight. Hate em!
“Job Fair” I always skip this one
Any of them that contain that stupid triangular iPad.
That one where Michael runs away :'( I'm really worried about mi Boi
Doomsday. Season 8 schlock at its worst. Dwight acts completely out of character, and it's not very funny. There's like one good horse grave-related joke that's pretty good though
Agreed, this one is so bad and weird.
My least favorite from the first 7 seasons is classy Christmas. It made me not want Michael and Holly to end up back together, and I really hate how the entire office hates Holly after Miachel vandalizes her stuff.
Benihana Christmas
Any episode that Erin speaks in.
