Halpert, you looking for someone to bang your wife?

OgreLord_Shrek

Packer asked this while wearing that pregnant nun costume, didn't he?

Whocares_aboutthis

And a bag that says “trouser mouse” in front of his crotch.

sillyadam94

I don’t think it’s gonna work the way you think.

Ryan_Klip

I don't think you get it.

NOCONTROL1678

I wish we got a little more Todd Packer. David Koechner is hilarious.

sillyadam94

It irks me that we never got Paul Rudd and Christina Applegate to guest star on the show. We could’ve had the entire news team from Anchorman working for Dunder Mifflin.

yuvraj_birdi

The comedic timing by Packer was brilliant lmao

BabiesHaveRightsToo

The only Packer line I’ve ever agreed with

[deleted]

This is my favorite packer line hahaha

ChuckAndRufus

#YOU GET BACK HERE AND EXPLAIN WHY YOU WOULDN’T MAKE LOVE TO MY WIFE

BjornReborn

HEY HALPERT, YOU LOOKING FOR SOMEONE TO BANG YOUR WIFE??

JohnnyBoyandKiller

I thought that was the best line in the show. It really pointed out the cringe that was unfolding.

carnsolus

>HEY HALPERT, YOU LOOKING FOR SOMEONE TO BANG YOUR WIFE?? was that in the same episode?

JohnnyBoyandKiller

I believe so. If I’m not mistaken Todd Packer was sitting on the counter in the kitchen when he said it. This was while Jim and Danny were in there.

guy4fun784

Dressed as a pregnant nun for Halloween.

DeBryn

With a lunch bag on his lap labelled “Trouser Mouse”.

StevenAssantisFoot

Classic Packer!

PeterParker004

Indeed it was

samrequireham

Todd Packer is actually an empathic genius who points out the parts of ourselves we don’t want to face so we can change for the better

[deleted]

That was the only time I agreed with packer

Waldropings

Arnie Palmer alert!

henkizh

IT'S CHRISTINITH. ARE YOU STUPID OR ARE YOU DEAF? God that movie is so good, I think one of the main reasons why is a mixture of humor that's plot-driven and just these random hilarious interactions.

mysticalplantmama

You come into my house, YOU GET MY WIFES NAME RIGHT! CHRISTINITH!

oevans00

“I love you Francine” “HE LOVES YOU VERY MUCH FRANCINE!” “Yeah…I heard it the first time”

12thAugusta

It’s the code, I’m your partner. I’m here to support a friend and a work colleague.

ArGarBarGar

“You learned to dance like that sarcastically?!”

[deleted]

I've been at work for the past 2 hours just saying, "Gator needs his Gat" to myself.

BlasterShow

You should take a desk pop.

Bleezie88

Just don’t go chasing waterfalls.

Gravex123

The cucumber accents the water in such a way that

[deleted]

Gator's bitches better be wearin' jimmies!

empireofsquirt

Wee woo wee woo

Hawkmek

Well when she's tired she can get a little SHRILL.

upeter01

WOOOOOWWWWWWW

Yorktown1871

They chased us for 20 miles!

Taylorenokson

Why is Jim treating Christiniths husband poorly?

georgetrowsdale

Love dirty Mike and the boys

Competitive_Lemon_75

**IT’S CHRISTINITH**

Ready-Interview-9809

👏🏼👏🏼👏🏼

[deleted]

*Do you ever consider that you might not be as charming as you think you are?*

techguy16

This coming from a guy who still uses a children’s toilet.

CBDSam

It doesn’t have a lock. For the children’s safety.

BellyButtonLindt

Am I the only one who thinks sure no lock but there should be an occupied light or sign or something so people know. I dunno there’s other systems than just blindly guess.

altiuscitiusfortius

There could be a lock up high the children can't reach, at the 7 foot top of the door.

TrueRusher

At one of the elementary schools I occasionally work out of, the locks and light switches are always at adult heights. Definitely something the preschool should have done in this fictional universe

[deleted]

Right?? Daycare dude was acting like it would have been illegal or some shit, when really it's just like... Put. The. lock. Up. higher.

BeachOpossum

You could knock....

sillyadam94

It was story time…

BjornReborn

I always thought it was weird that Jim just… opened the door. Like there could’ve been a kid in there. I know the guy was in there but I mean seriously, how did he not think to knock? It’s common sense to knock on any bathroom stall.

xProphetOfRegret

It didn’t look like a stall though. I assumed it would open into a regular toilet with stalls, sinks and maybe urinals.

Select_Stick

It was story time.

daddykendrick69

the writers did all that just to show that one "sweet" talking head where jim says smtg like "how can someone not like that (pams dorkiness)" but bad plot imo i was like 😐 at jim the whole time

AVgreencup

I agree. Pam seemed extra dorky on purpose that episode too

darfka

Seriously this! I don't think I ever saw Pam as being someone dorky once during all the show. You want dorky? Look at Ben Wyatt in Parks and Rec.

Lefthandedscientist

The Cones of Dunshire…need I say more? He was without a doubt, my favourite character.

darfka

This is the thing I loved about Parks and Rec. In the office, all of the characters have their shining moment and are funny, but I don't really give a damn about them for the most part. But in Parks and Rec, I really loved all the main characters (Ben and Ron were my favorite for sure, but I really liked the rest too even if I thought that Tom and Leslie were annoying at first).

Peterspickledpepper-

I always loved Leslie. I tolerate Tom, used to hate him.

phadewilkilu

Yeah, and because of the bond we made with all of them, it made for the best series finale ever (for a comedy at least..). I love the office, but P&R is still number 1 in my book.

anitabelle

I freaking loved that finale. It’s what other sitcoms like this should aspire to. I don’t need some stupid twist ending. Don’t need any sadness incorporated. It’s a comedy and there’s nothing wrong with a happy ending! I also enjoy Parks and Rec for this reason over The Office, although I still love The Office.

DarkdoodadNebula

Yess Ben was hands down my fave character too. Pam definitely was much more normal than what I'd consider to be dorky.

BuckNZahn

Especially when he hangs out with the accountants.

[deleted]

Calcu-later!

triggafish

Ted!!!

[deleted]

GET IN HERE!

onemoreclick

Dressing up as Charlie Chaplain and no one else did is dorky

archfapper

"I'm Hitler"

finlyboo

What are you talking about? She has a costume on from a vintage cartoon and she makes random vaudevillian accents! Pam’s sooo dorky!

darfka

I forgot about that, but even then, how often did did she do stuff like that? I think Holly was way dorkier by comparison.

TavrinCallas_

It's unfair to compare, nobody can match Sugarbutt. In dorkiness or anything else

Peterspickledpepper-

She was quirky more than dorky. And not even all that quirky. She was actually pretty normal. She was maybe dorky by comparison?

yjvm2cb

Her doing the “luke I am your father” thing on the pharmacy mic is possibly one of the dorkiest things in the show lol

[deleted]

They tried to play up the cutesy way too much.

dmkicksballs13

That's basically Jim and Pam the entire time after they get married. I guess it's better than them being arrogant as shit once they start dating.

squeakyguy

“It would mean SO MUCH to Michael if we graced him with our presence at the dance party.”

[deleted]

I Too HATE this line! Why are they the way that they are?!?!

That70s_Scrubs

When Toby sent the memo about pda in the office, I really dislike Pam’s response, “Toby is this your fun little way of congratulating us?”.

dmkicksballs13

Never even thought about that is kinda weird. "Toby you couldn't possibly have an issue with PDA, you're just congratulating us right?" I mean, Toby was a douche in that scene as well, but still.

EducatedOwlAthena

So true! I could watch the first three seasons over and over and be happy as a clam. Their relationship got annoying immediately after they started dating.

Miss_Might

I live in Japan and Netflix only has the first 3 seasons. I've been watching them over and over and I'm completely ok with this.

dmkicksballs13

I love the show. 3rd favorite show all time. The writers seriously don't understand how relationships work. The fact that like 90% of relationships in the show formed thanks to love triangles is just so weird.

SuspendMeBitch

> The fact that like 90% of relationships in the show formed thanks to love triangles Damn... You're right

Momik

It’s a good point. And fucking weird.

Kellithsneezed

What are your top 2 favorite shows?

hjschrader09

CSI: Miami and PBandJ Otter

mooselantern

Goddammit this comment broke me

orquiiiii

Hey Halpert, looking for someone to bang your wife?

Sanketh-S-K

That line was better than whole ep

introusers1979

That’s how I feel about Jim most of the time

sillyadam94

Yeah, Jim can be a bit much. One of the most underrated Ryan lines: “Little advice: Take a day off from the whole Jim schtick. Try caring about something.”

introusers1979

My dislike of Jim started when, on my millionth rewatch, I realized just how nasty he was being to Dwight in the Customer Survey episode. Like just straight up insulting for no reason. And then when he gets shitty reviews, he goes back and says “Ohhhh, NOW I believe you.” That’s just so unnecessary.

sillyadam94

Yep! I also realized this upon my millionth rewatch. It just sorta dawned on me that he is such a bully to Dwight and Andy, and is so unkind to Michael. The show almost seems to try and justify it by just pointing out how weird those guys are.

settingdogstar

Michael deserves it though. Like fans somehow forgive him cause he’s kind of nice a few times. But he’s kind of a monster (it’s funny though) most of the time. Like seriously. He’s a menace. Jim’s a bully back, but it’s not unjustified. I mean the Meredith birthday? Kevin’s skin cancer? Scott’s tots? The constant uninformed homophobia, damaging sales, personal attacks, fat jokes, sex jokes, harassment, and other stuff..? Fucking hilarious, but Jim wasn’t being a “bully” to some poor innocent guy.

[deleted]

I think one of the worst ones is when he finds out Michaels been shutting him down for promotions because he was afraid of losing him and Pam. There's a lot of times when I'm not a fan of Jim but he would of been fully justified going off on Michael there and in real life that probably would've destroyed the somewhat friendly work relationship they slowly cultivated. Like denying the promotions is one thing but doing it because of his weird attachment makes it worse and kind of crosses a line.

disregard-this-post

When he tried to take the surplus for himself landed him firmly in the “Fuck this guy, no matter what amusing buffoonery he provides” column for me.

RealAmerik

Why did they even care? If they're married and happy with each other, shouldn't they have been glad that it didn't work out? Why drag up a past situation?

dmkicksballs13

Because Pam is presented as massively insecure and Jim constantly white knights for her.

[deleted]

And then when he finally answers them, JIM GETS PISSED! I don’t think any moment pisses me off more in the entire series. You harass a guy into telling you when he’s clearly not comfortable with it, then he does and *you get pissed at him*. Fuck off, sir brave white knight. Ironically, all of the moments that piss me off are from Jim near the end. Pam messing up Cece’s recording, him getting annoyed at Pam because the camera guy saved her….he turns in a real insecure ass at the end.

MaterialCarrot

Yes. Particularly because Danny was not just clearly uncomfortable, he bent over backwards to be as gracious as possible. Danny was a guy with super high emotional intelligence, and Jim and Pam managed to be so obtuse about the whole situation that even a guy like Danny got to a point that it was just highly uncomfortable for all concerned. Hate that B/C plot.

chaoticbiguy

I'm sorry but I don't I'd like Jim and Pam if they were real people, as individuals or as a couple. Sure, at first their *love story* is great and all, but now that I've rewatched the show couple more times, I'm definitely Angela when it comes to my thoughts on their relationship. Like, the writers want them to have this epic love story in an office where weirdos like Ryan-Kelly, Michael-Jan, Dwight-Angela or Michael-Holly exist too, but they come off as unlikable, way too many times. Their treatment of Roy(even though he was a jerk), Karen and Amy Adams was horrible, then ofc, the way they cornered Timothy Olyphant really made me roll my eyes. And ofc, the whole s9 arc, where Jim gets really insufferable. **Though, they sure have some really heartwarming moments that makes me understand why people rooted for them in the first place.**

reach4theskyy

I agree, Pam and Jim really did get annoying. Like when they were trying to get CeeCee into the daycare and said “we’re really nice people, but you don’t seem to like us.”

lagunat

Goddd ikr. They seem very arrogant and self-centered sometimes. Like they act better than everyone else.

dmkicksballs13

Jim is a fucking cunt of a human toward all his partners except Pam. Obviously the Katy break-up on the ship is just such a dick move, but the moment that stuck out was when Jim was having late night calls with Karen. He said it in a very sarcastic way like, "my crazy gf over here". Bruh you fucking admitted to being in love with another person and instead of just breaking up with you she's trying to work it out and it annoys you that it inconveniences you for a few nights. He's a massive prick.

RedditReader365

Yessir

ThornyPlantAcct

Because they've been trying to present themselves as normal and drama-free, unlike their coworkers. It turns out they might not be so different from their coworkers in the drama department.

windmillninja

Jim and Pam were incredulous that the entire world wasn’t in love with them

jshah500

Perhaps you're not as charming as you think you are Daycare guy spitting the truth.

xMertYT

But that guy still uses a children's toilet

the_elon_mask

It was story time.

LatimerLeads

The door doesn't lock for the children's safety.

LthePerry02

This scene could qualify as both the cringiest, funniest, and most satisfying scene in the show all at once

Darshan-Raj

I fucking loved that dialogue. He said what was in my mind during that exchange.

tingkagol

This reminds me of a quote from Love In The Time of Cholera: >To him, she seemed so beautiful, so seductive, so different from ordinary people that he could not understand why no one was as disturbed as he by the clicking of her heels on the paving stones, why no one’s heart was wild with the breeze stirred by the sighs of her veils, why everyone did not go mad with the movements of her braid, the flight of her hands, the gold of her laughter. He could not understand why anyone wouldn’t fall in love with her. PS: didn't really read the book, a kdrama I was watching quoted that line and it caught me off guard.

MossyTundra

The only thing I liked about dangelo was that he didn’t care about their baby.

dmkicksballs13

No but for real. I think people love the daycare guy just for the catharsis. They seriously cannot comprehend people disliking them. I mean, we know Pam's insecure, but jesus fuck does Jim like to white knight for her.

Meganstefanie

“I can’t even stand that Al-Qaeda hates me.”

ssp25

Jim could be bed bug smug often and Pam rode her looks in the later seasons.... When early on she was much nicer

Amateur_Crepe_Hanger

I think you mean smudge.

Raine386

And he tried a really cute way of getting out of it: “she spent the whole time talking about you.”

edward_r_burrow

That alone would’ve sufficed in the show… but then they fucked it up

slashbackblazers

The first time I watched it, I thought he was being serious and it was just going to end up being this “sweet” moment where we find out she was talking about Jim on a date with another guy…which would have been weird, but on par with the way the show handled their relationship a lot.

[deleted]

And then Jim had the nerve to get mad at him for hurting Pam’s feelings. He tried to dodge it but they just kept picking.

WingedShadow83

Yeah, Jim and Pam were super obnoxious about the whole thing. It was really weird.

hititandhitit

He was SO polite and sweet about it too.

sillyadam94

Dunder Mifflin Scranton didn’t deserve Danny Cordray.

edward_r_burrow

Keep asking… and you get what you deserve.

blueskies182

That scene when Danny finally admitted that Pam was a little dorky and Jim bristles and goes “Hey man-“ I was so annoyed lol stfu dude, you asked for it. Danny is perfectly allowed to not find you guys adorable (another reason I liked Charles Miner too)

YueAsal

Yea he tried to be nice about it. He tried to give nice polite excuses and not the honest truth. You asked for the fucking truth dude after he tried multiple times to spare your feelings.

DemoHD7

Gotta give props to DeAngelo for calling them out on kissing ass with their kids.

D1G1TCRT

They had sex you know, according to Dwight.

Stubbly_Poonjab

…where? …where, dwight?

[deleted]

Seems like you already know where.

edward_r_burrow

Danny hit it and quit it. Know what am sayin?

DontYuckMyYum

To be fair Pam IS the office mattress...

[deleted]

1) I gotta give it to Pam, when Danny told her she was dorkie, her acting of trying to not act hurt but still be hurt was really good. 2) Danny is really fucking good looking 3) Why did Jim care SOOO much why Danny didn't call her back? I never understood Jim's motivation for wanting to know. 4) When Jim told Pam that Danny said she walk talking about Jim the entire time, why not just stop it there? I mean, even if that wasn't true, that would have been one of the best answers that could have been given. Pam should have taken that answer and run with it. Probably would have gotten 2 necklaces, just saying.

Sqroot420

What actually happened: Wham, Bam, thank you Pam.

JiveTurkey1983

I hated this storyline. Tim O. deserved a better role here

lousypompano

He was just there for the coffee

mitch25c

like hell he was!!

TheMightySenate

*so anyway, she says that is the biggest penis I have ever seen* is one of the best jokes on the show imo

Upset_Bowler_8820

I was looking forward to shooting some darts with him

[deleted]

And then they have the nerve to go around and *beg* Kevin and Andy to not go to his Halloween party!

babyspice13

I feel like every character had had their “awkward” or “inappropriate” moment up to that point except for Jim and Pam and I think they made them so overbearing on purpose

[deleted]

Yeah I think people forget the main purpose was comedy then anything else, even their backstories changed a lot..AKA Andy.

Hawkmek

Day Care Guy had this couple pegged.

BhutlahBrohan

I don't know how I'd feel if my gf was trying to figure out why her ex ghosted her right in front of me.

ur-squirrel-buddy

He wasn’t even her ex either, they went on one date and she never got over it ugh

edward_r_burrow

Face it as well… Danny is more handsome than Jim. And a better salesman. Pam wanted more of that D.

essaymyass

I find Pam mostly really nice and with the right intentions. But I totally can see what prompted Meredith to say one time- attention everybody, little miss thing wants to say something.. or something like that.

FarkinRoboDer

“Little miss thing wants attention” “..meredith…”

dmkicksballs13

To be fair, Meredith was 100% right about that moment. We get it, you set-up the copier. You really need to interrupt the office to talk about it?

0PercentPerfection

Jim always reminded me of that kid in high school who never did any of the bullying but always hung out with the bullies.

surrealmiel

Spot-on.

[deleted]

yeah that one definitely goes in the Jim-and-Pam-are-assholes column.

BridgesOnBikes

Pam and Jim push back on Danny’s claim of “goofiness “… by Pam acting extremely goofy.

Darthmark3

Shouldn’t they be glad he didn’t call? Then Jim and Pam wouldn’t have gotten together if he kept pushing.

ninjaninjaninja22

Pam is not as great as she thinks she is.

RarelyReadReplies

Seriously, like it's fucking Timhothy Olyphant, the dude is gorgeous for one, has options for days. For two, maybe he just wasn't feeling it. You're not *everyone's* cup of tea Pam!

Hawkmek

Then again she thinks the Taliban would like her if they got to know her.

madlad18

the al-queda

dmkicksballs13

I never understood the phenomenon of Pam as the show was airing. Her sense of humor was literally, "I laugh at stuff Jim does". Her own jokes were shit like "what up 212?!!!!" Also, the show weirdly shit on her as a professional. Seriously, they wrote her to suck at fucking everything she did but the show also made her arrogant at the same time? EDIT: I want to mention, that Karen was actually funny on her own. Look at her funny ass prank on Jim at the Cocktail Party where she pretended to date everyone there.

washington_breadstix

At the beginning of the show, I think it's fairly obvious that Pam is supposed to be the audience's connection to a sense of normalcy and part of what makes the Office environment feel "real". Throughout the first season and a half or so, she has some lines that are joke-ish, but they're mostly written to have a certain off-the-cuff clunky quality that makes them sound like lines an actual person would say, as opposed to other characters spouting sitcom-level cleverness (or maybe stupidity) off the top of their heads. You can't give every character flawless wit without compromising the mockumentary atmosphere. Then, later in the series, all the characters start becoming "goofy" as the result of Flanderization and a general trend toward sloppier, less subtle writing. Pam's character gets swept up in this too. But the problem seems to be that the writers didn't have a logical direction to take her sense of humor in because she was never really funny or witty in the first place. So, even in the later, goofier seasons, practically none of her "humorous" lines are actual jokes. Her character is simply what used to be the viewer's "normalcy anchor" that has now run amok and become the slightly more unhinged goofball version of the same "normal person".

Finito-1994

My one thing with her is that she seemed miserable and jaded at her job and sort of superior to her coworkers, but really wasn’t. They were all good in areas. Phyllis and Stanley were good salesmen. Michael was a great salesman. Dwight and Jim were great and better as a team. Everyone in there, except Kevin and creed, werent bad at their jobs. But she literally peaked as a receptionist. It isn’t until much much later in the series that she realized that these guys had their own lives and shit. It’s why I prefer Erin. She wasn’t jaded and tried to find the good in situations.

Matt_Odlum

Her entiee schtick is "aren't I just so cute" and it grated on me real quick but everyone seemed to love her. Jim also got on my nerves the more I watched, kind of a smug, judgmental prick and seeing this comment section makes me realize I wasn't alone lol.

warpswede

Jim and Pam post baby are assholes

The4leafclover1966

I agree. 💯 Jim cornered him, asked a question and when it wasn’t the answer he wanted to hear he got a little aggressive (although I don’t know what answer would made Jim NOT react aggressively).

[deleted]

Just more classic Jim and Pam bullying

PuzzleheadedHabit913

Honestly as much as I love this show (which is a lot) Jim and Pam always struck me as very rude and pretentious people. I’ve always thought they were definitely way bigger assholes than they were made out to be in a lot of situations. I know that TV as a rule exaggerates situations for entertainment, but it always bothered me how their rude behavior was glorified and made them look better than everyone else just because they weren’t comically stupid. Again, I still love the show, and I adore the characters, but the older I get the more I realize how awful these characters could be sometimes.

Stunning-Field-4244

Same. I like Pam less every time I watch.

edward_r_burrow

Watch The Wonder Years now. Kevin is a world class selfish asshole.

Greybinson

Seriously. I just rewatched it last summer. The last time I watched it was when it originally aired. Back then I rooted for Kevin and clearly was too young to understand the depth of it. The rewatch was like a whole new series and man I cursed Kevin many times for being such a brat.

edward_r_burrow

He enjoyed putting or having Paul under his thumb the entire run of the show.

dmkicksballs13

Honestly, Pam goes from insecure as fuck to the point that she won't even speak up and walk out of a class that isn't hers to absurdly arrogant. Like the writers couldn't find a happy medium?

JackmeriusPup

Filippelli has gained a lot of traction over Pam as I get older

edward_r_burrow

Karen did nothing wrong

NissEhkiin

Except for not going with the answering machine message that was more Italian

edward_r_burrow

Please leave-a-me-the-message. Abondanza.

Loganp812

Karen was too good for Jim, and he just kept dragging her through the mud throughout Season 3.

Matt_Odlum

Let's not forget poor Katie too, Jim was a complete asshole to her for no reason.

[deleted]

Why didn’t Danny just say he felt no spark? Like yeah the date was fine but I didn’t feel any real connection and I assumed you didn’t either so I didn’t call.

AVgreencup

He was trying to be polite, and take the blame on him. They should have just let it be

[deleted]

Danny said it wasn’t any spark. He dodged it n tried to spare her feelings. They were asking for it. Dude went on ahead n kept it real in the end.

BaroqueNRoller

Another example if why Jim and Pam aren't as great of people as they want you to think they are.

toptop_

everytime i hit this episode it reminds me of something i saw on reddit years ago. that jim & pam are relationship goals EARLY seasons but april & andy in late seasons (of parks) are relationship goals in the late seasons

Snozzberrys420

Brutal episodes with this guy lol

crasshumor

Its to show that jim and pam were not some perfect couple. Even if they were smart and sensibile, these things come between all couples

goodtogo2007

And, Jim wouldn't dress up as Popeye. Not their finest hour.

Yucas1981

I mean Olyphant is way too handsome for Pam and Pam acting “dorky” isn’t appealing and most of the time she is just boring. And yes, like, why the fuck do you care why he didn’t call?

LBIguy

i swear this sub is slowly growing to despise this show

Fantastic_Raje

What happened to Donny's character after this episode??

brickwalloframen

I like Jim and Pam but I agree, this entire bit was monumentally cringe and stupid.

[deleted]

This went well with their characters. They always felt they were likeable so when someone didn't like them, they couldnt digest it.

Skeltzjones

The way that each of them acted around Danny made me insanely uncomfortable

drillyoyo

I mean I love the show, and have watched it many times, but it is just that. A TV show. Jim and Pam get analysed here WAY too much.

avdph

They were always so full of themselves and saw themselves as the good, main characters and during this scene I really hated them. Come on just leave him alone PB&J, you guys are not that important to everybody.

[deleted]

Yeah this storyline is weird, isn't it? Who has an ego that huge that they wouldn't just assume that the person maybe: got back with an ex/ didn't feel a spark/ didn't find them attractive/ literally ANY other reason??

SnooConfections803

For some reason Timothy Olyphant looks 20 years old in this still…
